Hello, my name is Siri Srimuang and I am the owner of Siri Safari Kuiburi tours.

I was born and raised in the Kuiburi mountains very close to the elephants natural habitat and I know the area very well. I am a licensed tourmanager and I am specialised in private and family with (small)children safari tours to go see the free elephants in the forest mountains in Kuiburi.

Its very special to see elephants free roam in their natural habitat. You can see them in Africa and here in Thailand. Its my job to make this day for you a day that you and your family will always remember. The half day tour is filled with many special sightings, beverages, delicious food and many more interesting typical local Thai culture with at the end the safari in open vehicles with local rangers where we will look and search for the elephants in the forest.

Lets go on a boatride to visit the temple built for king Rama V. Hidden amidst the breathtaking Khao Sam Roi Yot lies the mysterious Phraya Nakhon Cave. Ancient trees and unusual plants grow upward along the limestone cave to catch a little sunlight through the ceiling opening. Then the light falls like a spotlight exactly on the magical Kuha Kharuehat Temple.

Kui buri national park, private tour | kui buri elephant safari | half day.

Kui Buri National Park is known to be the best place in Thailand to spot elephants and relatively good chance to spot gaurs, and that sometimes in big herds. Gaurs are the biggest cattle species and the fourth biggest land-mammal species in the world. Other possible sightings during the tours include sambar deer, banteng and wild boar.

Due to strict regulations this half-day wildlife safari tour doesn't include any hiking activities apart from leaving the vehicle for short walks to viewing areas, we will only be allowed to do safari driving. During our tour we scan the forest edges on grassland areas known to be prime elephant habitat in hope to see mainly elephants and/or gaurs.

Tour itinerary

From 2:30 pm till 5:30 to 6 pm

Wildlife tours in Kui Buri National Park are strictly regulated and limited to certain hours. After a mandatory registration we will get assigned an open-air vehicle with driver and an assistant. The tour will begin by driving slowly into the reserve on the main dirt road north heading to the main grassland areas. While driving slowly, we will search for any wildlife including birds or any other smaller/bigger animals.

Our first stop will be a viewing area where we leave the vehicle in hope to spot wildlife, mainly elephants. We will later on continue to the next viewing area at the end of the road, best known for spotting gaurs, but also elephants and sometimes bantengs.

During the tour, your guide will give you information about the habitat, wildlife and history of the park.

The type of assigned vehicle is an open-air pick-up truck driven by locals. It is the Kui Buri National Park's policy to let locals do the driving, a policy that showed to be a success in reducing the poaching in the park.

Kui Buri National Park lies about 1.5 hours driving distance from Hua Hin and nearly 4 hours from Bangkok. We can offer private transfers from Bangkok, Hua Hin or other destinations. The park is open all year round.

We loved our trip to the National park to see the elephants and we had a wonderful guide, Som who was very helpful and pointed out lots of things to us on our trip. So lucky to see a herd of wild elephants towards the end of the day. A magical day which we will always remember.

Brilliant tour that was well organised by TNP. Great wildlife watching (how many other places are you pretty much guaranteed to see wild Asian elephants with every visit), and loved having a local private guide who was able to tell me about the history of the park, how her local community has lived alongside elephants for decades, the wildlife the community lives alongside etc, and elephant behaviour. 10/10 brilliant day

We didn’t see many elephants and they were far away. Despite this, our guide Som was always trying to help find the best angle for me to take photos and was always in communication with others trying to find more animals. You could tell she loves being out there in the park and I would gladly take more tours with her

Fantastic experience. We were met by Som, who is incredibly knowledgable about the park, birds and animals. We were lucky enough to see several wild elephants in different locations throughout the park, lots of birds. The whole tour was a highlight of our holiday.

Great experience. We were very lucky to have guide Som and local guide June to escort us during our stay. They were very knowledgeable and good conversation . We saw dozens of elephants and gaurs during a pleasant wild safari drive. The park was well maintained and the viewpoints as well. Driver Jay was excellent driver with professional attitude. It was worth it and pay a bit more for arranging the drive and transport from the hotel and back via thainationalparks.com :)

Don’t hesitate!

Absolutely great day with Siri. She comes from village near Kui Buri. We booked safari to see elephants but the journey was so much more. Loads of information about local life, customs, cuisine. She took us to the temple, where we discovered meanings of different rituals and prayers. She took care of breakfast, lunch (super nice local restaurant), and dinner (food cooked by her mom, wrapped in banana leafs (delicious and zero plastic:)). Although the day was hot, and animals were hiding in cool bushes, she did everything to make it possible to see those beautiful creatures. And it happened-we managed to observe elephants (and buffaloes really close) and Siri was explaining everything we wanted to know. Above all Siri has great personality - we felt like a good friend took us for a ride in her local environment. If we were to stay longer, we would definitely go with her to visit other places. You get what you pay for, and much more. Highly recommended!!!

We did the Elephant safari and temple tour with Siri during our recent trip with our 8 year old daughter. Siri is a fantastic guide, so much enthusiasm and such a great personality to be around, she made it fun and is also so caring. Siri made sure we had everything we needed at all times including water/drinks and snacks. I felt we learned so much about Thai culture and the area throughout the trip. The street food we had was incredible as was her mother’s Pad Thai, such a treat to enjoy authentic food. I would highly recommend Siri, the service start to finish was impeccable. We went on a tour with Siri to Phraya Nakhon Cave, a temple and on an elephant safari. We had to hike to the cave. The boat didn't go because of the high waves. Siri made sure me and my boyfriend were okay. she made sure to take enough breaks, offered us drinks regularly and massaged my legs when they hurt. When we arrived at the cave we where amazed. A breathtaking experience, so incredibly beautiful. Siri knows all the good spots to take photos. After the cave we went for a lunch. Really good thai food and a lot of choice. Siri is very kind, chatty and fun person. She makes jokes throughout the tour and you can see that she loves her work. In the temple she gave us a personal tour, we performed rituals according to the Buddhist faith and Siri told us a lot about buddhism. then we went on an elephant safari. what a wonderful experience! We saw a lot of elephants crossing the street. We also saw bison, kingfishers, toucans and reindeer. Siri's enthusiasm is contagious. Siri has a lot of knowledge about nature. she tells many facts about the animals, trees and plants. You can tell that she is in the national park every day because she knows where the elephants go and what their behavior is like. At the end of the trip we ate path tai. The mother of Siri had made it. The taste was amazing! Siri is the best tour guide we've ever had! I recommend this tour to everyone!

Wow, wow, wow, lived up to our expectations and far beyond. Siri thought of every single detail, she is a bright and sparkling and super funny personality and she made this day more than special. Want to go to the tempel and really understand what’s happening? And see the elephants and bisons live in their natural habitat in the national park? Siri really made this happen. I wanted to give her 6 stars, but TripAdvisor only allows 5, unfortunately. Because Siri, you deserve 6 stars. ⭐️ love, linda & leo! 🦁

Siri and her driver picked us up in a very clean and comfortable 4x4 at 1100 hours and delivered a safe and most wonderful day out. We were fed and watered at every opportunity and at the end of the day were too full to try her Mother’s Pad Thai that looked lovely. En route to the National Park we were given a really sincere insight into Buddhism and the mechanics of the temple. We the stopped for lunch in a very clean roadside cafe and finally made it to the National Park. The park is around 900 km square and contains around 300 bison and 300 elephants. The national park is cleverly laid out to provide watering holes and it did not take long for us to see elephants. Although slightly contrived the park is a wilderness and it could not have been a better day. We spent as long as we wanted watching and Siri was on hand to answer questions. We were driven back to our hotel by our very good driver and Siri delivered a magical day. Fantastic value for money.
