Six Reasons Why Going To Gigs Alone Is The Best
So you want to go see that metalcore band you love but none of your friends like that “shouty” music? Or you REALLY want to go check out that new artist on TikTok you discovered but all your mates won’t go to a gig where they only know one song? Or worse, your group of friends cannot get themselves organized and work out which show and when to go on a tour, so you’re worried you’ll miss out on tickets. Let them be miserable and start living your best life by going to concerts by yourself. Trust us, it’ll be the best thing you’ll ever do!
Going to gigs alone can be daunting. What am I going to do with myself in between sets? Are people going to think I’m weird? Why would I not want to share the experience?
Listen, we are all for sharing the experience, but sometimes it’s either missing out or going alone, and in those cases we definitely recommend going alone. Here’s a few reasons why you’ll never regret it once you build up the courage to go through with it.
1 . See artists you really REALLY want to see
Imagine the FOMO of missing your favourite band on their new tour, hearing all those new songs live, seeing everyone post about it. Don’t let that happen, and get that ticket. Plus you then get to tell the pals who didn’t want to come how you saw that band or artist before they blew up or how they played that one B-side track that everyone loves – now who has FOMO?
2. Meet new friends
It’s no secret that music brings people together. That moment when everyone’s favourite ballad hits and there’s not a dry eye in the building, you turn to your left or right and suddenly you bond with a stranger over your favourite song. For the metalheads, we also recommend mosh pits, follow the rules of the pit but what a way to make new friends!
3. The freedom
Now hear us out – but going to a gig alone means you can get to the venue when you want, you can go to the loos when you want, you can stand in line at the merch for hours and no one will ask if you’re sure you want to wait. And no one will drag you home when you want to wait after the show has finished and find every piece of confetti or ask for the setlist.
4 . It’s a cult
You are not alone in going to gigs by yourself, you’d probably be surprised by how many people do the same thing. Some fan groups even have entire sub cultures of going to gigs alone (shoutout to Frank Turner’s solo armada, we see you!) – bringing us back to reason #2, new friends.
5. Confidence boost
Going to a gig by yourself will do wonders for your confidence. Sure the first time might feel a bit awkward and weird, but isn’t it always? Remember your first day of school? And then it was kind of okay after a while (let’s ignore our teenage years…) Once you’ve done it and experience all of the divinity of a solo gig you’ll feel free as a bird.
6. Experience the music your way
Whether you love hanging out by the bar, need to be front row, prefer seats or want to leave a bit earlier to catch the last train – the world is your oyster! The experience is yours, you don’t need to coordinate with someone else, rely on them to enjoy the show as much as you are and have as much of a good time as you are. And frankly, if you took a chance on a new genre or new artist and it isn’t your vibe, you can just go home. Glorious.
So there you have it – doesn’t sound too bad now does it?! At the end of the day it all comes down to you and your artist, a concert will always be a shared experience whether with strangers or friends. The most important thing to do is have fun.
Your next gig awaits
It all starts here.
Create memories to last a lifetime
Whether it’s your favourite band, an evening with friends, discovering new artists or the seventh show on the tour, we are your go-to home for all things live music.
Don’t miss out on the biggest announcement and keep checking back for latest news and last chance tickets.

The Greatest Rock & Metal Bands Touring The UK in 2024
From Slipknot to Sex Pistols, Alice Cooper to AC/DC, it's set to be a stunner of a year for rock & metal fans as some insanely huge names have announced UK tours. I mean, we're talking GOAT artists here, offering us a pretty decadent nod to nostalgia along with a heap of new music to boot. Since the dawn of time (circa 1970) what we call modern rock and roll has filtered itself through the vastly eclectic music scene to become a sturdy backbone-esque essential mastery. Guitar bands will always be loved, and a heavy sound brings lost souls and like-minded misfits together. This is why the most iconic rock bands and heavy metal names continue to draw huge crowds year after year. 2024 and into ‘25, we'll see some of the world's best alternative music names on tour. Here's our lowdown of the greatest rock and metal bands playing in the UK this year:
Bullet For My Valentine & Trivium
A doubleheader to kick off the list of all lists with Welsh alternative heroes Bullet for My Valentine announcing a joint headline tour with Trivium in early 2025. While fluidly dabbling in metal, punk, and emo with thrashy anger & melodic depth, the former have produced some huge hitters over the past 25 years, including ‘Tears Don't Fall' and metalcore track ‘All These Things I Hate'. Fans of both BFMV and fellow heavy metal band Trivium are in for something pretty special as these two join forces to play 6 venues across the UK. Dates include Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester, & Birmingham, with the final night at London's o2 Arena on Feb 1st.
View Tour Dates
90s grunge icons Pearl Jam, fronted by Eddie Vedder, head out on a massive world tour following the release of their highly anticipated 12th studio album ‘Dark Matter'. After selling over 85 million albums worldwide, the band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017. Their alternative grunge rock sound on tracks such as the anthemic ‘Alive' has enduring longevity worthy only of the world's biggest superstars. Pearl Jam's long-standing fan base are still as loyal as ever in 2024 and they continue to attract new audiences year on year. The band's UK tour dates are as follows.
25 years on and genre-spanning alt-heroes Slipknot are on the road once more. It's hard to describe a band like this- their image is unique, recognisable, and entirely them. Their sound- something otherworldly.
“ There was never a band like Slipknot, and there will never be another. Like a spore out of the Midwest, they've quietly bloomed into the most uncompromising, undeniable, and unique presence on the planet whose influence transcends genres and generations.” - Ticketmaster.
They are back this year with their seventh album “The End, So Far” and UK tour dates in the Winter, kicking off proceedings at Leeds First Direct Arena Dec 14th.
Australian rockers AC/DC will appear at London's Wembley Stadium for just two dates in July as part of their PWR UP European tour over the summer. A limited number of tickets are left so you'll have to be quick on this one. With no less than eighteen studio albums under their belt, they have cemented themselves as one of the world's greatest rock n roll bands, with Highway to Hell their most iconic album of course. If you're fortunate, you'll catch them in London on July 3rd & 7th at Wembley. Good luck!
Foo Fighters
Almost ten years on from Dave Grohl's famous leg break, The Foos began their UK tour last week with an incredible performance at Manchester's Emirates Old Trafford Stadium. With a further 6 dates imminent across the country, there are still a few chances for you to see them this side of the pond. The band's current lineup consists of Josh Freese (drums), and Nate Mendel (bass) alongside Grohl following the tragic death of the band's beloved drummer Taylor Hawkins back in 2022. After performing two benefit gigs (in London & Los Angeles) in memory of Taylor, and a surprise set at 2023's Glastonbury Festival, The Foo Fighters announced they would make a return to touring with their UK dates this summer. For limited remaining tickets, check out the following dates.
Sex Pistols & Frank Turner
OK, so this one's a bit different, but when we heard that Sex Pistols were teaming up with the insanely talented Frank Turner to play a two-night fundraiser at London's Bush Hall, we simply couldn't ignore it. Across the UK over the past couple of years, we've seen a number of grassroots venues close, venues steeped in music history, places we thought we'd never lose. The Music Venues Trust said, “ Financial stresses led 125 UK venues to abandon live music in 2023, with over half of these closing down completely.” Bush Hall is at risk along with many others and Pistol's Paul Cook wanted to do something about it. After approaching the venue to suggest putting on an event to raise funds to save the struggling site, he decided to bring Frank Turner along for the ride. They will perform the punk band's most iconic record ‘Never Mind the Bollocks' over two dates - 13 & 14 August this year, with all proceeds going back to the venue.
Alice Cooper
Vincent Damon Furnier, also known as the legendary Alice Cooper announces Too Close For Comfort UK tour. Bringing his shock rock energy to UK shores follows the release of his latest album ‘Road' last year. Cooper began his career in rock and roll back in 1969 and his commitment to the scene has been nothing short of relentless. With over 17 albums to his name and world tours every few years, including the grandest, most theatrical rock escapades, he clearly wants us to remember every show. Previous performances have included an electric chair, parading on stage with a boa constrictor, and a self-beheading. If you go see an Alice Cooper show, have an open mind. 2024 dates commence in Glasgow ( OVO Arena, 14 Oct) with a further 5 dates including London's Eventim Apollo.
In January of this year, commercial punk band Green Day released their long-awaited new album entitled Saviors, with 2024 being the same year that marks 30 years of their legendary record Dookie. Couldn't be a better year for a world tour eh? Their uplifting, in-your-face punk sound first came to us in the late 80s, clearly influenced by the likes of Ramones, Stiff Little Fingers, and The Buzzcocks. They immediately had mass appeal, almost bringing punk to younger audiences. They are adored worldwide by not only punk fans but also those in the heavy metal, emo, and dare I say it - even the pop world. Tracks such as ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams', ‘Basket Case' and ‘Good Riddance' became household names among even the lightest of fans. If you want to catch them on tour, you're gonna have to be quick, playing just 5 dates here in the UK, the tour begins on the 21st of this month at Emirates Old Trafford Stadium, Manchester.
Paul McCartney
OK, Metal fans please ignore, but we couldn't complete this list without today's announcement. Sir Paul McCartney - commercial art form, iconic musician, and worldwide superstar, famous not only for the Beatles but as a solo poet, painter, bass player, songwriter & vocalist will play just four UK dates this winter. McCartney has not played a London venue in 6 years but has just announced two dates at the o2 Arena, and a further two dates at Manchester's Co-op Live respectively. Keep an eye on our social media at @wearegigguide for general sale tickets.

Linkin Park performed together for the first time in Los Angeles on Thursday for ticketed fans who were transported by buses to a studio lot. The event was livestreamed and will be available to view on Linkin Park’s official online channels for the next 24 hours.
According to a press release, Shinoda, Delson, Farrell and Hahn “quietly began meeting up again in recent years” and “rather than ‘trying to restart the band,'” they worked with numerous musicians and “found a special kinship with Armstong and Brittain.”
About the new era, Shinoda said in a statement, “Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future — embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what Linkin Park has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.”
Pre-sale tickets for the “From Zero” tour will be available for the LP Underground fan club starting Sept. 6. The general sale will start the following day on Sept. 7.
This announcement follows Linkin Park’s release of its “Papercuts (Singles Collection 2000-2023)” from earlier this spring. The 20-song LP collected the bestselling band’s greatest hits across a two-decade-plus run. It was released via Warner Records, and featured songs including “In the End,” “Burn It Down” and a Jay-Z mash-up, “Numb/Encore,” as well as “Lost,” which helped propel its parent LP, “Meteora,” to return to the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart.

Oasis confirm how fans can get tickets to extra shows in invite only ballot, oasis confirm how fans can get tickets to extra shows.
Oasis has confirmed they will send out invites for a private invite-only ballot for their “final” Wembley Stadium dates overnight.
The band said they would be sending the invites out to “eligible fans we have been able to identify”, and added that those who were signed into a Ticketmaster account on Saturday, August 31 and were able to join a queue for tickets “may be eligible to take part”.
It comes after the band extended their Live ’25 tour to include two more London shows on September 27 and 28.
The tour will be their first since breaking up backstage at France’s Rock en Seine festival in 2009.

Oasis confirms how fans get tickets to extra shows
A statement announcing the details of the private ballot read from Oasis : “Invitations to enter private ballot will be sent overnight tonight (Saturday) to eligible fans we have been able to identify.
“If you signed into your Ticketmaster UK account on Saturday, August 31, and you were able to join a queue for a specific show but didn’t get a ticket, then you may be eligible to take part and will receive an email on how to register for the ballot.
“Keep an eye on the inbox associated with your Ticketmaster account and don’t forget to check your junk mail.
“Once successfully registered, you will be entered into the ballot for a code to access the final Wembley on sale.
“Due to the demand for the shows and to avoid last week’s long queues, codes will be strictly limited.
🥇Thirty years later, ‘Definitely Maybe’ is back at the top of the UK Official Albums Chart, with ‘Time Flies... (1994 - 2009)’ and ‘(What's The Story) Morning Glory?’ also in the top 5! ‘Live Forever’, ‘Don't Look Back In Anger’ and ‘Wonderwall’ have also made a return to UK… pic.twitter.com/yE4qjMsI20 — Oasis (@oasis) September 6, 2024
“Entry to the ballot does not guarantee you will receive a code.
“The ballot is only open to invited fans. You must register with the email to which your invitation was sent and which is registered with your Ticketmaster account.
“All other entries will be discounted. If you do not receive an email then unfortunately you will not be eligible for the ballot.
“You will be automatically discounted from the ballot, even if you go through the registration process.”

Competition watchdog launches investigation into Oasis tickets sale
It comes after many fans were shocked by standard tickets for the reunion tour more than doubling from £148 to £355 on Ticketmaster, prompting the Government and the UK’s competition watchdog to pledge they will look into the use of dynamic pricing.
Meanwhile, others were left angry and disappointed after being left empty-handed, having waited in an online queue for hours to buy tickets.
In a statement on Wednesday, the band said they hoped the new ticket sale strategy will make “the process far smoother for fans by reducing the stress and time it takes” to obtain tickets.

Escape to the Chateau's Dick and Angel 'anxious' over separation from son Arthur as he reaches milestone
Angel Adoree and Dick Strawbridge are preparing to take to the stage for their 2024 UK tour, Forever Home, which will see them travel the length and breadth of the country

Angel Adoree has opened up about feeling "anxious" as her son Arthur approaches a key milestone, with the family gearing up for their extensive UK tour. The couple, beloved from Channel 4's 'Escape to the Chateau', can scarcely hide their excitement over their 2024 adventure, dubbed 'Forever Home'.
The 'Forever Home' tour marks the pair's most ambitious project yet, featuring 33 shows kicking off on October 6 in Angel's hometown of Southend-on-Sea and wrapping up on November 17 in Brighton.
Their children, Arthur and Dorothy, will be accompanying them, adding to the family affair. In a chat with Devon Live, Angel quipped, "If you're going to do a tour, you have to do it properly."
Dick chimed in with enthusiasm, "The best bit is it's just like a family outing," also touching upon Arthur's significant step of starting senior school and obtaining clearance to join the entire tour. "Arthur starts senior school and his Headmaster said, 'Yep, great, Arthur can come with us for the whole tour'. The primary schools have always been very supportive, and the headmistress there."
Angel agreed heartily, "Yeah, they love it," acknowledging the educational benefits of touring such as history and social skills, while admitting to some nerves. "They encourage it to a degree because there's so much knowledge that the children pick up - history, geography, just socially, etc. But we were a bit anxious, especially me," reports Devon Live .

Dick elaborated on Arthur being separated from them during the tour: "The idea of Arthur not being with us for all of the tour is pretty rough."
Angel delightedly recounted tales of her son Arthur's growth spurts, saying: "He has started doing this thing where he would pat me on the head and go, 'Little mummy',".
Dick shifted gears to their much-anticipated tour, noting his connection with the UK: "We are British living in France, we are not French and it gives us a very different mindset.
"And I've got a lot more experience of travelling around all of the UK and all the places we go to, I've been there at some stage."
He also discussed the joy of exploring the country with his family: "And the fact that Arthur and Dorothy, and, dare I say, Angela, because Angela is sort of a London-centric girl, we get to see the UK, and I get to show them bits they haven't seen before. So for us, that's really quite special."
Angel spoke of their visits to the UK as more than just family reunions but also a chance to engage with ardent followers: "When we come on tour, we see people that we have spoken to for years. You know, they might have been to a previous tour, this might be the first one, but we have this connection in this community that genuinely is very, very special.
"And we do this after every tour, every evening, we do a meet and greet, and it is about the same length as the actual performance as well."
Dick went on "We stay until we have seen everybody who stayed behind. It is lovely because some people we've communicated with, as Angela said, through email, or met before, or the previous Chateau, or at a wedding or something, and we just get to see everybody and have a hug, so going home, we love."
The show by Dick and Angel promises an evening filled with untold stories and hearty laughter, offering a refreshing twist by shining a light on the audience in a uniquely interactive experience.
In a special segment of the evening, participants from each location, including those joining from Exeter, will have the opportunity to take to the stage and compete for the title of 'Escape to the Chateau Jack of All Trades'.
Providing insights into what the audience can expect, Dick made it clear that there's much more beyond what has been televised: "I think one of the things is, you know, you've watched the Escape to the Chateau, you've seen a bit of what we do but there's so much more going on."
Angel also offered her thoughts, emphasising the couple's history: "While a lot of people might know us or would know us from Escape to the Chateau, and they might know sort of Dick from Masterchef, or they might know me from Dragon's Den, etc, there have been so many bits that have happened in our world that goes back before we were born, and so we take everyone on a bit of a journey on how we actually got to the point of getting together and finding the chateau."
Don't miss out on the opportunity to join Dick and Angel for a memorable evening at the theatre and become part of the Chateau's story. Tickets can be purchased here.

Fervour for all things Oasis hasn’t abated since the band announced they’d be getting back together to perform, 15 years after the warring Gallagher brothers – Noel on guitar and songwriting, Liam on vocals – finally had one tussle too many and Noel departed the band.
There was a backlash last Saturday when tickets for their 2025 summer concerts went on sale, but “dynamic pricing” meant prices went up in response to huge demand, and fans were forced to shelve out hundreds of pounds more than the listed price to secure their places at the gigs.
Further dates have now been announced, and Liam responded in typical swagger to complaints on X (formerly Twitter) this week, telling one fan on Friday to “shut up” when they questioned the finances of the project.
The BBC reports that the Competition and Markets Authority said on Thursday it would investigate the sale, to discover whether ticket agent Ticketmaster had breached consumer protection law.

Fans can also buy Oasis tickets at face value or less from Twickets after being warned not to give money to other resale sites.
Oasis themselves released an official warning online, which read: ‘We have noticed people attempting to sell tickets on the secondary market since the start of the pre-sale. Please note, tickets can ONLY be resold, at face value, via @Ticketmaster and @Twickets. Tickets sold in breach of the terms and conditions will be canceled by the promoters.’
Pre-sale tickets opened on August 30 at 7pm BST and were soon snapped up by lucky fans who got a code in their inbox that gave them the first chance to get them.
However, many dedicated fans were left ticketless and waiting in a queue of thousands as tickets went up for sale on unofficial sites for extortionate costs – some even reaching £10,000.
The same issues occurred during general sales, with some tickets being resold for more than £110,000 and many fans reporting being mistaken for bots and booted from ticketing sites.
Mid-sale, one fan on X screenshotted a ticket on the site going for £356.80, while user mufcag90 raged: ‘After hours of queuing they now increase general admission from £158 to £355 plus fees, and rebrand them as “In Demand Standing”. Absolutely obscene. A total disaster.’
As per MailOnline , Ticketmaster has said the extra money from the inflated prices for Oasis tickets will go to the band, sparking fury among fans. The band have not yet addressed the controversy.
Those booking hotels for their chosen dates have also been left fuming by various accommodations increasing their prices due to the surge in those travelling for the shows.
Who is supporting Oasis?
Manchester indie legends Blossoms are reportedly set to support Oasis for their reunion shows.
A source told The Sun : ‘Noel and Liam and Blossoms have been friends for years and with the band also coming from Manchester asking them to support Oasis was a no-brainer.
‘It will be announced in due course but Blossoms have agreed to support Oasis at their Heaton park shows – naturally they jumped at the chance.’
‘It’s a full circle moment for them as members Tom Ogden and Joe Donovan’s first ever gig was at Oasis at Heaton Park.’
Earlier in 2024 the band – comprised of Tom Ogden, Charlie Salt, Joe Donovan, Josh Dewhurst, and Myles Kellock – supported Noel Gallagher and the High Flying Birds during a one-off Royal Albert Hall show in London.
The group formed in 2013 and are famed for singles such as There’s A Reason Why, Your Girlfriend, and Charlemagne.

Oasis gigs sell out as fans criticise surge in prices
The Oasis comeback tour has sold out for all the dates the band announced they would play across the UK and Ireland next summer.
The band wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that tickets for all 17 gigs had been scooped up as of 19:00 BST on Saturday - but many fans criticised the sales process and prices.
Throughout the day, hundreds of thousands of fans sat in online queues in the hope of being able to buy a first-hand view of a tour that comes 15 years after the group disbanded in an acrimonious split.
“Dynamic pricing” on Ticketmaster, where prices rise in line with demand, set some remaining tickets at more than £350 - up from £135 when the sale began.
Oasis ticket sales - everything you need to know about reunion
The young oasis fans rebooting the spirit of the 90s.
Earlier this week, standing price tickets for Cardiff, London and Edinburgh were advertised as £135 plus fees. But angry fans online said they noted "in demand" pricing on Ticketmaster had increased prices to £355 plus fees.
Ticketmaster say they do not set ticket prices.
A link on the ticketing website stated : "Promoters and artists set ticket prices. Prices can be either fixed or market-based. Market-based tickets are labelled as 'Platinum' or 'In Demand'."
Ticketmaster confirmed that fans did not get anything else for the price increase.
Oasis and the band's promoter were not commenting on the issue on Saturday evening.
Dynamic pricing is not new and is allowed under consumer protection laws.
The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) told the BBC it could not pass comment on Ticketmaster's pricing in this instance.
“We encourage anyone with concerns to get in touch with us and we’d carefully assess whether there were any grounds for action,” an ASA spokesperson said.
But they added: “Our rules (the Advertising Codes) are clear – quoted prices must not mislead.”
Within minutes of Saturday's morning sale, some people looking for tickets for gigs at London's Wembley Stadium next July and August found more than one million people ahead of them in the queue.
Others were put into a "queue for the queue" with all three ticket sellers redirecting people to a page saying their sites were experiencing high demand.
Tickets were on sale from 09:00 BST and an hour earlier for Ireland, where issues accessing the Ticketmaster website were also reported.
Some hopefuls also said they had been "suspended" by Ticketmaster after it accused them of being bots - automatic computer programmes that can snap up tickets quicker than humans.
Jamie Moore, 50, from East Kilbride, was hoping to get tickets to see Oasis and “re-live the good times” but was kicked out when he reached the front of the online queue after being mistaken for a bot.
Mr Moore says he has “never been so let down by a website” in his life.
Many others have expressed frustration and anger at how the website handled demand.
Ticketmaster's website called for patience from fans, saying that “as expected Oasis is incredibly popular” and encouraged people to keep their places, “clear cookies”, and avoid using VPN software on their device.
Noel and Liam Gallagher announced on Tuesday that they had put their differences behind them, confirming the band's long-awaited reunion.
The group disbanded 15 years ago following a backstage brawl between the brothers at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.
On Friday, shortly after a three-hour pre-sale for a limited number of fans began, tickets for the UK gigs were being listed on resale websites like StubHub and Viagogo for more than £6,000 - around 40 times the face value of a standing ticket.
They included:
- £6,000 for Oasis's show at Wembley Stadium in London on 26 July
- Between £916 and £4,519 for the first concert of the tour at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on 4 July
- Over £4,000 for standing tickets at Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium on 12 August
- More than £2,500 for the band's homecoming concert at Manchester's Heaton Park on 12 July
Standing tickets for the shows were expected to cost about £150, while standard seated tickets range from £73 to about £205. Prices for official premium packages go up to £506.
About 1.4 million tickets are expected to be available for the 17 outdoor concerts.
Oasis urged people not to resell tickets at higher prices on websites not linked to their promoter, and said those tickets would be "cancelled".
It added that they could only be resold at face value on the websites Ticketmaster and Twickets.
"Tickets sold in breach of the terms and conditions will be cancelled by the promoters," the band said.
Meanwhile, Viagogo issued a statement in which it said "resale is legal in the UK".
Cris Miller, Viagogo global managing director, said "demand will be at its peak when tickets hit the on-sale but it's not a normal reflection of what tickets can and will go for."
A consultation into ticket resale prices and “rip off” touts will be launched in the Autumn, the government has said.
There was joy for some fans who managed to get tickets.
Nayat Karakose, 41, from Istanbul got two tickets to see the band in Wembley in the pre-sale on Friday.
She told the BBC that when she found out she got the tickets, she said she felt "supersonic".
“My heart was beating, I was super, super excited, I couldn’t believe it for the moment. I thought I’d have to pay a couple of thousands pounds," she said.
Ms Karakose has been a fan since she was 13 and this will be her third time seeing the band live.
Six years ago she met Liam Gallagher in Istanbul and got a photograph with him as he was about to leave a hotel, but added "it would be a dream to meet Noel Gallagher".
Rachael Board, 51, from Devon, got two tickets to see Oasis at Wembley - but paid more than £900 after failing to get cheaper tickets.
A longstanding fan, she told the BBC that "we got caught up in the vibe," adding that she "would never think I was that person who would spend so much on a concert ticket".
Oasis were formed in Manchester in 1991 - their original line-up was Liam and Noel Gallagher, guitarist Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs, bassist Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan and drummer Tony McCarroll.
As hype for the gigs builds, sales and streams of the band's back catalogue have surged, putting three albums into the top five of the UK charts on Friday.
Greatest hits collection Time Flies is at number three, 1995's What's The Story Morning Glory is at four, and debut Definitely Maybe - released on 29 August 1994 - is in fifth place, at the time of writing.
A 30th anniversary edition of Definitely Maybe was released on Friday.
