Forget Garth Brooks, because Shania Twain-mania has has officially hit Ireland.

Initial reviews of her first night in Dublin are in, and – by all accounts – the country pop superstar rocked the 3Arena with a spectacular show.

Ahead of night two on Wednesday, September 20, here's everything you need to know – including the expected set list following Tuesday's performance.

READ MORE - RTÉ hosting live concert to mark 100 years of the Irish State – and tickets are completely free

Unfortunately, tickets for Wednesday's show are now completely sold out, with no resale tickets to be seen on Ticketmaster's website at the time of writing.

But it's good news though for fans as you can expect a 13,000-strong crowd belting along to her biggest tunes like You're Still The One and Man! I Feel Like a Woman! with you on the night.

The atmosphere for the major pop concert is indeed bound to be electric.

3Arena stage times and support act

The Canadian singer is being supported on her two Dublin dates by rising US star Breland, who fuses country and R&B in unique fashion and has been hailed as a pioneer in the genre.

The show kicks off at 6.30pm with Shania expected on stage somewhere between 8pm and 8.30pm, based on previous shows on this current tour.

Aah, the one we've all been waiting for.

The set list for Tuesday night's show at the 3Arena is below. You can expect something very similar to this for Wednesday night's second outing.

How to get there and travel options

The Luas is probably the quickest way to get to the 3Arena from the city centre via public transport.

If you're travelling by train into Dublin, you can grab the Luas Red Line to The Point stop from either Connolly or Heuston Station. This will take you right to the doors of the 3Arena.

The full list of stops where you can board is available at www.luas.ie .

Alternatively, if you'd prefer to avoid the crowds, the 3Arena is roughly 20 minutes walk from O'Connell Street.

From O'Connell Street, just walk down the Northside Quays, past the IFSC until you arrive at the venue.

If you prefer to drive, there is limited car parking available at Point Village car park.

The cost is €16 plus booking fee from 6pm up until 12am, with parking tickets available to book in advance from Ticketmaster.

However using public transport is strongly encouraged, given the thousands that will be travelling to the venue on the night.

Shania Twain in Dublin review: Convincing country-pop performance without the diva presence

Is it a tad cheesy it is, indeed, but this is high quality camembert that never undermines twain’s legacy.

shania twain tour dublin

Shania Twain

3arena, dublin.

You have to be quick to notice it, for no sooner have the lights dimmed when a spotlight lands on Shania Twain , who has somehow arrived at the upper reaches of the auditorium without causing a stir. Microphone in hand, and standing in a leopard skin covered trolley, she makes her way through the crowd, singing Waking Up Dreaming. It’s a surprise beginning to a show that is many things to many people: an array of self-empowerment and self-validation songs that shove male chauvinists out the door with a boot to the butt; a display of campness that runs all the way from pink-frilled boots to displays of Quiverdancing; rock guitars to the max mixed with furious bouts of barn dance fiddle playing.

As befits a songwriter that regularly uses exclamation marks at the end of their songs – see Up!, I’m Gonna Getcha Good!, Giddy Up!, Rock This Country! – and sometimes in the middle of them – the six shooter bang-bang of Man! I Feel Like a Woman! – there is much enthusiasm, but it’s all in good fun.

Is it a tad cheesy? It is, indeed, but this is high quality Camembert that never undermines Twain’s legacy of having established the country-to-pop mainstream crossover blueprint – she is, with some justification, a recognised influence on the early careers of Taylor Swift and Kacey Musgraves.

The high points of a show stacked with hit songs are many and most of these come from the hat-trick of albums Twain released between 1995-2002: The Woman in Me, Come on Over and Up!

‘I’m dating a previously married man but I feel sad that I will always come second to his children’

One of her signature songs, the supreme power ballad You’re Still the One, is performed with just an acoustic guitar and is so rapturously received you wonder, fleetingly, insanely, would a stripped-down show in a smaller venue be just as valuable to the singer as it would the audience? Another time, perhaps, because arriving to a caterwaul of screams are Giddy Up! and Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under? (“a heartbreak cheating song,” says Twain, her fan base keenly aware she sings from experience).

shania twain tour dublin

Does everything work? Not always. The midpoint medley of songs, which includes Nah!, She’s Not Just a Pretty Face and When, doesn’t connect with the audience, which move in droves towards the toilets and bars. Perhaps a key element of the show is, depending on taste, its most touching or cringy: audience participation.

On three occasions, Twain engaged with her fan base on stage: eight-year-old Mia, from Cork (inevitably, cute), Frenchman Julian and his father and nameless couples gathered around faux candlelit tables as Twain posed with them for selfies. All of that fades in the background, however, when you are confronted with a show that primarily aims to entertain. Also, to Twain’s inestimable credit, there is no diva present on stage – when you already have star wattage, you don’t need extravagant costume changes.

Shania Twain's little-know Irish heritage celebrated with special gift for country star

E PIC The Irish Emigration Museum has gifted country star Shania Twain with a guitar to honor her Irish heritage . The music legend played shows in Cork, Dublin , and Belfast last month.

The 58-year-old Canadian musician was presented with the bespoke guitar designed by Irish illustrator David Rooney. With its intricate design, it tells the story of the star's Irish heritage .

The guitar features several elements that represent Shania’s family history, including the Triskele, an ancient Celtic symbol found at Newgrange, Co Meath . It also features the salmon, representing Shania’s return to Ireland and wisdom in Irish mythology, and Kilkenny Castle, symbolizing her great-great-great-great-grandfather, Thomas Edwards, a soldier at Waterloo who became a ‘military settler’ in Canada .

Twain, who was born Eilleen Regina Edwards, revealed in her 2011 autobiography, From This Moment On, that she was named after her Irish grandmother, Eilleen Pearce. Her grandmother was born in Co Kildare , which is located west of Dublin.

"Shania, you are a prime example of the global impact of Irish emigration," said Aileesh Carew, CEO of EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum. "We are proud to present this bespoke genealogy to you, told in a new and innovative way.

"Your music has touched millions around the world, and we hope this guitar, which tells the story of your ancestors, intrigues, excites, and informs you as much as it did us during our research. We believe that this unique piece will serve as a cherished reminder of your roots and the incredible journey of your Irish ancestors."

Fiona Fitzsimons, Director at the Irish Family History Centre, added: "Shania’s family history is a testament to the resilience and spirit of her ancestors. Her family narrative spans the battles of the 1798 Rebellion, to the mountains of County Down , and the plains of County Kildare, to Ontario, Canada, and is truly inspiring.

Shania Twain Discovers Her Irish Heritage With Guitar Presented by The Public House and EPIC.

shania twain tour dublin

This time it was the turn of Shania Twain who has often talked about her Irish lineage and her Irish grandmother, Eileen Pearce, who was born in Newbridge, Kildare in 1911. However, until now, this was all she knew of her Irish heritage. EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum and the Irish Family History Centre traced her roots all the way back to Ireland’s pre-famine era, with links to both Kilkenny and Kildare.

Upon learning about these deep-rooted connections, and with the potential to present an ancestry report to the music icon, The Public House found a bespoke way to bring her lineage to life.

Working with artist and musician David Rooney, Shania Twain’s ancestral story was etched directly onto a telecaster guitar. With nods to Celtic symbolism, emigration, perseverance, and her roots in both Kildare and Kilkenny, the guitar brings Twain’s genealogy to life in a unique and striking way.

Speaking on the project, David Rooney said: “My own family history of emigration made this process incredibly rewarding, constantly uncovering new things as I sketched, illustrated and burned this art onto a guitar for such an icon. It’s magical to think that someone of Shania’s stature might play this guitar, it’s really extraordinary, and I hope there’s a tune in it for her in the years to come.”

In addition to the guitar, a detailed breakdown of the illustration enclosed in an ancestry report was presented to Shania Twain before her headline concert in Malahide Castle on Friday 28th June.

According to Aileesh Carew, CEO of EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum: “In uncovering Shania’s Irish roots, EPIC is once again shining a light on the astounding impact Irish emigration has had on the world. It was a pleasure to present her with this ancestry report and beautiful gift, and a pleasure to speak with her about her love for this land. We invite her fans to visit EPIC and experience the unforgettable stories of how those who left Ireland have shaped the world.”

Paul Kinsella, Art Director in The Public House, added, “Collaborating with EPIC, the Irish Family History Centre, and David Rooney allowed us to craft something really special and unique to celebrate the Irish ancestry of a music icon.”

Andrea Bocelli’s new album to feature duets with Shania Twain and Gwen Stefani

By Casey Cooper-Fiske, PA Entertainment Reporter

Andrea Bocelli is to release an album featuring new duets with Shania Twain and Gwen Stefani to celebrate 30 years since the release of his debut record.

The 32-track Duets compilation will include a host of collaborations recorded especially for the album, with US country star Chris Stapleton, his son Matteo Bocelli and Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer also on the line-up.

Alongside the new work, the album will feature duets from throughout the 65-year-old’s career, recorded with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, Jennifer Lopez and Celine Dion.

Album cover of Andrea Bocelli's Duets with Bocelli smiling in a suit

Speaking of the album, Bocelli said: “To mix voices, mix the vibrations, is for me a very exciting experience, sensual and spiritual at the same time.

“Something intimate and deep is established between the two voices that sing a duet.

“We singers are in constant search of colleagues able to give life to this alchemy.”

The first single from the album will be Da Stanotte In Poi (From This Moment On), which is a reworking of Twain’s 1997 song and has been recorded with the five-time Grammy winner.

Bocelli began his career in 1994, with the album Il Mare Calmo Della Sera, having previously worked as a singer in piano bars.

The Italian has gone on to sell almost 90 million records worldwide and has performed at major events across the world including the Olympic Games and the World Cup.

Prior to the album’s release, a three-day event will be held in his home town of Lajatico in Italy.

Andrea and Matteo Bocelli at the O2 Arena

Performances on July 15, 17 and 19 at the Teatro del Silenzio will see him joined by the likes of Sheeran, Sir Brian May and Johnny Depp.

The theatre he will perform in was paid for by the singer and is not used other than for Bocelli’s yearly shows in July.

The concerts will be filmed for a movie called Andrea Bocelli 30: The Celebration, which will be released in cinemas worldwide.

It will be directed by Grammy nominee and Emmy Award winner Sam Wrench, who recently directed Taylor Swift–The Eras Tour.

A new documentary on the singer’s life will also be released in cinemas called Andrea Bocelli: Because I Believe.

The album will be released on Friday, October 25th on Decca Records.

It comes after Bocelli performed at British Summer Time in Hyde Park on Friday, July 5th, with the singer preparing to head off on a US tour in November.

Shania Twain presented with a stunning handmade guitar in celebration of her musical legacy and Irish heritage

Shania Twain has been presented with a bespoke guitar that celebrates her Irish heritage by EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum. The unique instrument represents Twain's rich ancestry through intricate artwork by Irish illustrator David Rooney.

The presentation of this guitar at Malahide Castle in the Republic of Ireland was in celebration of Twain playing to Irish audiences in Cork, Belfast, and Dublin last month.

During the guitar presentation, Aileesh Carew, CEO of EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, highlighted Twain's importance for Ireland.

“Shania, you are a prime example of the global impact of Irish emigration,” he said. “We are proud to present this bespoke genealogy to you, told in a new and innovative way.”

The Telecaster-style guitar, handmade by Ukraine's Woodstock Guitars, was the result of Rooney's intensive search for the perfect guitar to host the artwork he had in mind. “It was urgent. Salvation came at Everest Music, Bray – just down the road from where I live,” recounts Rooney in an interview with Hotpress .

“Hardly five minutes into a conversation with in-house luthier Mark Walsh, he pointed to a pale pink Tele-style guitar on the wall. Hand-made by Woodstock, in the Ukraine, and beautifully aged with a light relic finish and dull hardware, it seemed perfect. Furthermore, it played beautifully.”

Rooney then went on to use pyrography (an art technique for decorating wood with burn marks) to engrave several elements that represent Twain's family history.

This included the Triskele, an ancient Celtic symbol found at Newgrange, County Meath; Kilkenny Castle, symbolizing her ancestor Thomas Edwards, a soldier at Waterloo who became a ‘military settler’ in Canada; and the salmon, representing Twain’s return to Ireland and wisdom in Irish mythology.

In her 2011 autobiography, From This Moment On , Twain revealed her Irish heritage. She shared that she was named after her Irish grandmother, Eilleen Pearce, who was born in County Kildare and played a significant role in her upbringing.

U.S. phone giant AT&T confirmed Friday it will begin notifying millions of consumers about a fresh data breach that allowed cybercriminals to steal the phone records of "nearly all" of its customers, a company spokesperson told TechCrunch.
