The SS667HF Pajero Sport 4x4 Snorkel is designed to deliver a huge volume of the coolest and cleanest air possible into the stock air cleaner assembly of QE Pajero Sport Diesel engines.

With the huge air flow demands of each engine in the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Safari took the decision to design a snorkel system that raised the air intake to prevent ingesting harmful elements to the vehicles air cleaner.

Huge air flow is but one aspect of the ultimate in snorkel Pajero Sport design. The Safari snorkel air ram is designed to perform two very important roles. The most obvious is to funnel cool clean air into the snorkel body - but just as importantly, the Safari air ram acts as a highly efficient water separator to remove rain water from the incoming air stream - thus ensuring safe engine operation through even the most torrential tropical storms.

The genuine Safari Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 4x4 Snorkel body and air ram is manufactured to the highest standards in durable, UV stable, cross linked polyethylene material. In addition, the substantial material wall thickness delivers huge physical strength to ensure that the Pajero Sport snorkel breezes through the toughest off-road conditions on the planet.

Clever Design

Safari’s Air Ram system is a pivotal and functional attribute of the snorkel; CAD and lab tested, the Air Ram is designed to simultaneously remove the maximum volume of water from the incoming air stream, while delivering the maximum airflow to your vehicle’s engine. 

Durable Materials

Safari snorkels utilise a UV stable polyethylene body which ensures a strong and robust fitting to the outside of your 4×4, complemented by high-grade stainless steel and plated hardware for corrosion resistance on all internal and external fittings and fixtures. All Safari connection ducting is custom designed and tooled and is manufactured from EPDM moulded rubber, rated to a continual 130°C operating temperature. There is nothing better!

Nothing fits like Safari. As a result of the intricate design process, working with a combination of CAD modelling and actual vehicles, Safari snorkels are manufactured to integrate seamlessly. Where other products might look similar, none are developed with such attention to detail from the air-box back to the Air Ram to work perfectly with your vehicle.

After your payment is authorised and verified, all orders are processed within 3-5 business days. We will contact you if, for some reason, there are any delays.

However, some orders may ship within as few as 1 business day and some may take up to 5 business days.

 3. Shipment Locations

Essential 4x4 Pty Ltd does not ship internationally at this time. We ship domestic only - anywhere in Australia.

4. Shipment rates and delivery estimates

We endeavor to get your order to you as soon as possible. Once your order is placed, an estimated delivery time will be provided to you. Delivery times are estimates and commence from the date of shipment, rather than the date of order. Delivery times are to be used as a guide only and are subject to the acceptance and approval of your order. Estimated arrival dates are not guaranteed. Weather delays and other unforeseen circumstances may impact delivery time. Unless there are exceptional circumstances, we make every effort to fulfil your order.

(i) Business day means Monday to Friday, except holidays.

(ii)  Date of delivery may vary due to carrier shipping practices, delivery location, method of delivery, and the items ordered.

5. Tracking Options

Essential 4x4 Pty Ltd aims to provide visibility and transparency throughout the shipment process. Once your order is confirmed and shipped, you will receive a link to track your package.

5.1.   Domestic and International

All orders delivered within Australia automatically have tracking.

International orders are sent with DHL. This service comes with tracking and your tracking number will be sent to you once it has been posted. If we are requested to make alternative shipping arrangements we cannot guarantee tracking and will not be responsible for the delivery of orders sent internationally.

6. International Customs, Duties and Taxes

All orders shipping to a destination outside of Australia are subject to the import duties, fees, and taxes of the destination country. Delays in delivery may occur if your package is randomly selected by your country’s Customs Department. Essential 4x4 Pty Ltd is not responsible for any possible customs and taxes applied to your order. We have no control over the process or additional charges associated with the delivery and importation of your order (package) into your country. We do not benefit in anyway from these chargers and we work very closely with our brokers and carriers to ensure as few delays as possible. All fees imposed during or after shipping are the responsibility of the customer. You agree that you are responsible for any duty, taxes, and custom requirements or other like taxes, fees, levies, costs or expenses associated with importing products you purchase from us and shipping them internationally.

There are several reasons why a package gets lost or becomes a deliver exception. We’ve found that, more often that not, the package is either in the building or with a neighbour. (ii) If the failure with the service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to to a re-supply of the goods within a reasonably time, or to cancel the purchase and be provided with a refund of any price paid.

(b) We offer refunds, repairs, and replacements in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law.

(c) The Australian Consumer Law provides a set of Consumer Guarantees which protect consumers when they buy products and services.

(d) If the Australian Consumer Law applies, then we cannot avoid the Consumer Guarantees which it provides. If there is an inconsistency between this Policy and the Australian Consumer Law, the A ustralian Consumer Law will prevail.

(f) If a product or service which you purchased from us has a major failure (as defined in the Australian Consumer Law ) then you may be entitled to a replacement or refund. You may also be entitled to compensation for any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage resulting from that major failure.

(g) If a product or service which you purchased from us has a failure which does not amount to a major failure (as defined in the Australian Consumer Law ) then you may still be entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced.

• Cancellation and Change of Mind

(a) In the event that you receive the products or services you have purchased, as stated, but that you simply change your mind, we may, at our discretion, offer you a refund or exchange, provided that:

(i) You notify us within 7 days of receipt.

(ii) In the case of services, the services have not already been performed.

(iii) The following conditions are satisfied:

In the case you have changed your mind post purchase, the decision to provide a refund will be at the sole discretion of Essential 4x4, and if a refund is granted, you will be liable for any incurred shipping costs.

Any refunds that are granted, will be completed once the product is received back into the Essential 4x4 distribution centre.

• Products Damaged During Delivery

(a) In the event that the product you ordered has been damaged during delivery:

(i) Please contact us as soon as possible.

(ii) Any damaged product must be returned in the condition in which it was received, together with any packaging and other items which you received with the damaged product.

(b) We will arrange to repair or collect the damaged product and replace it with an equivalent product, or to refund it, provided that you have contacted us within 14 days from the date of receiving the product.

Notwithstanding the other provisions of this Policy, we may refuse to provide a repair, replacement or refund for a product or service purchased by you if:

(a) You misused the said product in a way which caused the problem.

(b) You knew or were made aware of the problem(s) with the product or service before you purchased it.

(c) You asked for a service to be done in a certain manner, or you asked for alterations to a product, against our advice, or you were unclear about what you wanted.

(d) Any other exceptions that apply under the Australian Consumer Law.

• Shipping Costs for Returns

(a) In the event that a product you have purchased fails to meet one or more Consumer Guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law , we shall bear any cost of shipping the said product (the "Returned Product") back to us, as well as any cost of shipping any replacement product to you.

(b) If the Returned Product can easily be shipped or returned, then you are responsible for organising for the Returned Product to be returned to us. If the Returned Product is eligible for a repair, replacement or refund under the terms of this Policy (including under the Australian Consumer Law ) then we will reimburse you for the reasonable postage, shipping or transportation costs for the Returned Product.

(c) If the Returned Product is too large, too heavy, or otherwise too difficult to be removed and returned by you, and is believed to be eligible for a repair, replacement or refund under the terms of this Policy (including under the Australian Consumer Law ), then we will organise for the postage, shipping, transportation or collection of the Returned Product, at our cost.

(d) In the event that we organise and pay for the inspection, postage, shipping, transportation or collection of a Returned Product, and it turns out not to be eligible for a repair, replacement or refund under the terms of this Policy (including under the Australian Consumer Law ), then you will be required to pay the costs of any inspection, postage, shipping, transportation or collection of the Returned Product.

(a) We aim to process any requests for repairs, replacements or refunds within 3 days of receipt.

(b) Unless otherwise defined in our sole discretion, we shall pay all refunds in the same form as the original purchase or to the same account or credit card used to make the original purchase.

Damage/loss of goods during freight is not common but they do sometimes happen. In the case where a package is damaged/lost during freight please follow these steps:

- document exactly how the package was delivered (if applicable)

- retain all packaging (damaged or not)

- contact us for further instructions (if damaged goods are in a used condition then compensation may be voided)

Please note that in the case of damaged or lost shipments Meredith Metalworks? will need to process a insurance claim with the courier company at fault. This can sometimes be a lengthy process, in some cases the customer will need to wait until the claim is closed - the customer will be informed of this if applicable. During the claim process the customer may need to be contacted by a third party or the courier company.

Whats the difference between short and long entry?

The difference between the short and long entry is purely cosmetic and personal preference. The short entry runs straight down the pillar and into the guard, whereas the long entry runs down the pillar and has a leg before entering the guard. Both styles hook up to the standard airbox.

Whats the difference between black and black with a polished end cap?

The difference is just the finish on the end cap. When you select for the snorkel to be powder coated, the whole snorkel will be Black but you can choose to either keep the End Cap black or have it polished.

How do you stop rain and water from getting in?

As the snorkel is a vacuum system, it is inevitable that water may enter the snorkel. If water does get in, we rely on the factory airboxes drains to allow the water to get out. However, we do have snorkel socks that you can put on during expected rain times to minimise the amount of water that gets in, because they are an oiled pre-filter.

We have also developed a product called a ‘water diverter’, this part replaces the straight pipe section between the snorkel and the airbox inlet. This part is compatible with most snorkel kits.

What is seamless?

There are no visible welds in the snorkel. It is designed to look like one continuous stainless-steel pipe.

We no longer offer a non-seamless option.

Why is my polished snorkel rusting?

Although we use 316L marine grade stainless steel it still has pores/grooves. These markings in the snorkels can get dirt, grime and other contaminants trapped in them. This results in what's called “tea staining”. This can be minimised with coating your snorkel in a polish or similar to fill the grooves between washes.

We use Autosol or a similar rough textured polish and a rag to remove the surface tea staining. For tough embedded contaminants you can use a decontaminant spray, such as cleanway decontaminant spray, that you can find for sale at Meredith Metalworks. Once the area is decontaminated a wax/polish coating is suggested for a longer lasting result.

Do you do snorkel replacements?

Snorkel replacements – Yes, only for the following products

- 80 series (Safari only)

- GU - 76/78/79 Series Landcruiser

We do not guarantee that all of the mounting holes will be covered with the stainless-steel snorkel. We do utilize the existing entry hole but as we did not fit the snorkel, we cannot guarantee any alignment of the template.

Black Powder Coating Options

The standard option that we have for our powder coating is a Gloss Black. We can opt to have it in a Satin/Matte black, we would just need to specify it on your order.

How does the water diverter work?

Our water diverter is made to relieve the amount of water getting to your airbox. The water diverter uses the intake air pressure within the snorkel to create a downwards motion of water with a vacuum like pressure. The water is forced to the walls and forced down. Your car runs off positive pressure and zero pressure, when your car is on you have a positive pressure which means the valve is open which allows the water to be released either via duck bill valve but when your car is off the duck bill is closed. Duck bill valves are not a necessity however we have added it as another precautionary measure to reduce water from getting to the airbox.

TOKYO – August 26, 2008: Mitsubishi Motors Corporation will unveil the new Pajero Sport*1 SUV at the Moscow Auto Salon 2008 (The Moscow Motor Show) to be held at the Crocus Expo in Moscow between August 26 and September 7 (opens to the public on August 29). Mitsubishi Motors will display a total of 15 models at the show. Joining the Pajero Sport on stand will be concept cars including the MITSUBISHI Concept-RA*2 sport coupe concept, the MITSUBISHI Concept-cX*3 compact SUV concept, and the MITSUBISHI Concept-ZT*4 which truly is the embodiment of Mitsubishi Motors' three key value of Driving Pleasure, Safety and Environmental Responsibility - as well as the fast-selling Lancer*5 sport sedan.

Inside, Pajero Sport achieves class-topping quietness while the comprehensive cabin appointments and practical innovations provide a reassuring and comfortable interior space.

Design Pajero Sport's exterior design was developed around the idea of "Cool & Hot" proportions. Its elegant styling makes it look perfectly at home around about town (cool) while its high SUV stance suggests how capably Pajero Sport can deal with all-terrain conditions (hot). The new design melds together a distinctive off-roader silhouette and dynamic lines crafted to create a form that projects a sense of speed. Front over-fenders accentuate the surface-hugging fat tires and macho rear blister fenders add a dash of muscular tenacity, serving to make the body look wider and impart a reassuring sense of safety. Inside, Pajero Sport stays true to the "Cool & Hot" concept. A functional and intuitive center panel is centrally located in the dashboard for a sporty and in an expansive structure that adds to a sense of roominess. The use of two-tone coloring tied to the door trim contributes to creating a coherent interior space distinguished by its clean, unbroken surfaces. Features that serve to enhance levels of functionality and quality appearance include the use of soft-touch seat upholstery and a combination of high-tech brightwork and elegant wood-grain inlays.

Packaging The new Pajero Sport moves one size up over its predecessor with an overall length of 4695 mm (compared with 4620 mm for the old model); overall width of 1815 mm (1775 mm); overall height of 1800 mm (1730 mm); and wheelbase of 2800 mm (2725 mm). With an approach angle of 36� (against the Pajero Long model's 36.6�), departure angle of 25� (25�), ground clearance of 215 mm (225 mm) and ramp break over angle of 23� (22.5�), Pajero Sport boasts obstacle clearance angles, an indicator of a vehicle's off-road capability, and ride height on a par with the world-renowned off-road icon, the Pajero.

Engine Pajero Sport is powered by an intercooler-turbocharged 4M41-type 3.2-liter diesel unit using a vibration- and noise-reducing common rail direct injection system. The power unit produces maxima of 120 kW (163 PS) / 3500 rpm and 343 Nm (35.0 kg-m) / 2000 rpm. Common rail fuel injection system The common rail direct fuel injection system uses a tube that branches to supply ECU-controlled injector valves which each feed fuel into individual cylinders. The extremely high injection pressures used ensure very high combustion efficiency, thereby reducing NOx emissions and the noise and vibration typically associated with traditional diesel engines.

Transmission and driveline Pajero Sport comes with a 4-speed Sport Mode automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual gearbox. The model uses Mitsubishi Motors' All Wheel Control-inspired Super Select 4WD driveline, which enjoys high acclaim for its reliability and go-anywhere capability. The system feeds maximum drive torque to the wheels with the most grip, for competence on all road surfaces. Pajero Sport is available with an optional rear differential lock that eliminates the speed differential between the rear wheels to help the driver extract his vehicle when bogged down.

Body Pajero Sport's body sits on a new ladder-frame chassis that realizes very high levels of body strength and durability while the use of impact-energy absorbing deformation beads in the frontal frame sections and other safety-enhancing elements also improve crashworthiness. Bending and torsional rigidity in the new ladder-frame are 100% and 50% (respectively) higher than before, significantly reducing vibration transmitted to the body. The stiffer frame also improves vehicle's reliability in off-road use as well as improving handling and ride comfort when driving on tarmac.

Suspension, wheels and tires With a double-wishbone coil spring configuration at the front and a 3-link coil spring arrangement at the rear, Pajero Sport's suspension delivers well-mannered stability and handling characteristics when on tarmac together with maximum tire/surface contact when driving off-road. Pajero Sport is offered with a choice of two sizes of tire: 265/65R 17 (larger) or 265/70R 16.

Brakes 16-inch ventilated disc front brakes deliver sure-footed stopping power and accurate brake feel. The rear wheels use 11.6-inch leading trailing drum brakes.

Utility and interior equipment The front seatbacks recline fully to provide a flat surface together with the rear seats. The rear seats boast a generous 150 mm slide travel, allowing various configurations for occupant and luggage spaces: either maximum legroom, load carrying capacity or something in between. Pajero Sport's soft seat upholstery is stain- and water-repellent. This plus its waterproof luggage space floor make it the ideal vehicle for outdoor leisure pursuits as well as for everyday use.

Audio systems Pajero Sport is available with an audio system that comprises a CD (MP3) player and AM/FM radio tuner, a 420 Watt amplifier and 8 speakers. The tweeters are mounted in specially designed doors enclosures and with punched metal mesh grilles deliver sound of outstanding clarity. Steering wheel-mounted controls allow the driver to operate his audio system without having to take his hand off the wheel.

MITSUBISHI Concept-RA

Illustrating the fact that fun-to-drive performance and environmental responsibility need not be mutually exclusive concepts, the MITSUBISHI Concept-RA's driveline features the S-AWC vehicle dynamics control system used in the Lancer Evolution*6 together with new Active Steering and Active Damper systems. These systems are integrally managed by the S-AWC system to realize vehicle behavior that faithfully reflects the driver's intent and inputs. MITSUBISHI Concept-RA also uses Mitsubishi Motors' Twin Clutch SST automated manual transmission and is powered by a new high-efficiency, low-emission 2.2-liter 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve clean diesel engine. With a VD/VG (Variable Diffuser / Variable Geometry) turbocharger producing optimum boost characteristics at all times, the power unit delivers a maximum output of 150 kW (204 PS) and maximum torque of 420 Nm (42.8 kg-m). For compliance with Tier 2 Bin 5 emission regulations in the United States and Post-New Long Term Regulations in Japan, the clean power unit uses a new catalytic converter system that brings together diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), NOx trap catalyst (NTC) and diesel particulate filter (DPF) technologies.

MITSUBISHI Concept-CX

The MITSUBISHI Concept-cX mates a high-output, high-efficiency 1.8-liter clean diesel engine to Mitsubishi Motors' Twin Clutch SST transmission to deliver the highest levels of driving and environmental performance. This compact SUV soft-roader concept offers superior levels of utility and practical performance, a driving position that enhances visibility, and the split tailgate already well received on the Outlander.

MITSUBISHI Concept-ZT

The Concept-ZT raises the bar both in terms of running and environmental performance. The sedan uses a high-output, fuel-efficient 2.2-liter clean diesel engine mated to Mitsubishi Motors' Twin Clutch SST (Sport Shift Transmission), and employs MMC's plant-based Green Plastic range of interior trim.

Concept-ZT features an array of advanced active safety technologies, including pre-crash safety and a lane-drift warning system, as well as technologies that actively support the driver in his operation of the vehicle including all-around multi-monitors and a parking assistance system. A pop-up hood also contributes to Concept-ZT's high level of crashworthiness.

With the addition of front E-LSD (Electric control - Limited Slip Differential), ABS and ASC to an electronically controlled 4WD S-AWC system, the MITSUBISHI Concept-ZT which truly is the embodiment of Mitsubishi Motors' three key value of Driving Pleasure, Safety and Environmental Responsibility.
