What Does Cruise Main Mean On A Honda?

Press the steering-wheel-mounted cruise control master button. On the instrument panel, the CRUISE MAIN light turns on. With cruise control, you can drive beyond 25 mph (40 km/h) without pressing the accelerator pedal all the time. For cruising on wide, open, and straight highways.

In This Article...

When the cruise main light illuminates, what does that mean?

A useful tool is cruise control. It enables you to set the desired speed before letting up on the gas. On long drives, that may help ease fatigue and tension. When you push the cruise control button to switch the system on, the Cruise Main indicator light on the dash will illuminate (but not to set it). The light will turn off once the cruise control system is turned off. You won’t be able to use the system if the Cruise Main light is off on the dash.

How do you disable the Honda’s cruise control?

The system is turned off and the previous cruising speed is deleted when the Cruise Control Master Button is pressed. Any of the following methods work to turn off cruise control: Press the clutch or brake pedal. On the wheel, press the CANCEL button.

What does the Honda’s cruise control button do?

The latest Honda Sensing technology includes Adaptive Cruise Control from Honda. You can adjust your cruise control speed so that it matches the speed of the car in front of you.

Can cruise control reduce fuel use?

Yes, generally speaking. Due to its capacity to maintain a constant pace, cruise control can help you become more fuel-efficient and can help you save on gas on average by 7–14%. In contrast, the constant acceleration and deceleration caused by the driver’s foot on the pedals might use up more gas.

What does the word “Cruise” on your car mean?

You can maintain a predetermined speed without pressing the accelerator by utilizing cruise control. After choosing a speed, you can let up on the gas and the car will continue to go at that pace.

Why doesn’t Honda Sensing function?

  • Clean your windshield: The monocular camera, which is the first Honda sensor, is situated inside your car, next to the rearview mirror, and right behind the windshield. The camera must be operating properly for the windshield in front of it to be clear. Fortunately, clearing the obstruction using an ice scraper or utilizing your wipers to clean your windshield is as simple as that.
  • Locate and clean your radar: Once you are aware of where your radar is, you can remove snow, salt, and filth with a soft cloth. You must first be aware of where your radar is. Depending on your model, your radar will be situated in one of the following locations:
  • If you own a Honda Fit, Clarity, Odyssey, Passport, Pilot, or Ridgeline, look behind the insignia on the front fascia.
  • If you own a Honda HR-V, check the front fascia on the passenger side.
  • If you drive a Honda Civic or Insight, the lower bumper on the driver’s side.
  • If you have a Honda CR-V, it’s underneath the badge on the front fascia.
  • If you drive a Honda Accord, the center of the bottom bumper.
  • Observe the cautions: Have you seen the notification that some driver-assistance systems are inoperative? This indicates that a few Honda Sensing features are currently disabled. This typically indicates that ice, snow, or salt has covered the sensors. Pay heed to any warnings that appear on your car, and use them as a prompt to maintain clean sensors.
  • Keep an eye out when driving: If a warning message continues to appear while you are on the road, your Honda sensors are probably having trouble with the present weather. Always be alert while driving, and never let technology take the place of your own eyes.

Do you ever utilize the cruise control?

Use it only when you can travel unimpeded at a consistent speed on a stretch of open road. 3. Never use it inclement weather. In the event of rain, snow, ice, or sleet, cruise control should NEVER be used.

What does the Honda steering wheel’s primary button do?

gives steering assistance to keep the car in the middle of an identified lane and issues auditory and visual alarms if the car is seen veering off course while traveling between 4590 mph (72145 km/h) and 72145 mph.

How do you operate a Honda’s standard cruise control?

To activate Honda’s ACC system, perform the following actions:

  • Your steering wheel’s MAIN button should be pressed.
  • Along with Lane Keeping Assist System, ACC will be displayed in the instrument panel (LKAS).
  • When traveling at speeds under 25 mph or even when the car is stopped and the brake pedal is down, the cruising speed can be set.

Is using cruise control when traveling at low speeds bad?

Although cruise control can be useful, it should only be used in certain circumstances. Relying on cruise control for anything other than an open, clear, and long stretch of road will decrease its effectiveness and raise your risk of getting into an accident. There are some situations where you shouldn’t utilize cruise control:

  • High Traffic Volume Slow-moving traffic cannot use cruise control since it is not designed for low speeds. When you need to start and stop frequently on the road, like in heavy traffic, cruise control may result in you rear-ending another car.
  • Mountains and Curvy Roads
  • To make the turn safely, you must slow down and alter your speed when driving around bends and curves. Additionally, when going downhill, you need to reduce your pace. On twisting roads, cruise control makes it dangerous to change your pace quickly.
  • Slippery and Wet Roads
  • All drivers should take extra caution on the road while it is raining, snowing, icy, or hailing. Safe vehicle maneuvering requires driving at a moderate speed and adjusting accordingly. Utilizing cruise control on slick roads increases the likelihood of hydroplaning. If you are using cruise control while you approach slick conditions, be cautious to reduce your speed gradually rather than abruptly turning it off to prevent a rapid change in speed.

Make sure the road conditions permit safe use before choosing to utilize cruise control to prevent any potential mishaps.

Use of brakes during cruise control

The throttle is used by cruise control to regulate your car’s speed in the same manner as you would. The throttle cable and the cable used by the cruise control, which is powered by an actuator via a vacuum instead of the throttle pedal, are typically located side by side in a car with a cable-driven throttle. When the cruise control is activated, the throttle cable moves along with the actuator’s “second” cable.

Naturally, the system will be an electrical setup in a car with a fly-by-wire throttle. However, in both cases, the system is intended to alter the engine’s output, which accelerates or retards the vehicle. Usually, the cruise control only affects the throttle, never the brakes. Additionally, if your vehicle has an automatic transmission, shifting gears won’t interfere with cruise control.

Regardless of the system’s mechanics, everything is controlled by a cruise control computer, which notifies it when the automobile has attained the required speed or when it is deviating from it. Additionally, it can alert the system when the brake pedal is depressed so that it can disable the cruise control instead of trying to overpower the driver. Clever.

What advantages does cruise control offer?

Controlling speed is cruise control’s main advantage. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that speeding has a total annual economic cost of roughly $40 billion, or $1,281 per second. There is less possibility of the driver accelerating and rushing past other drivers because cruise control enables drivers to maintain their vehicle at a consistent speed. Additionally, cruise control prevents gas-wasting acceleration and deceleration while limiting how much gasoline your vehicle uses. Therefore, cruise control helps you get better gas mileage and save money on gas. According to Esurance, increasing your cruise control’s speed to 60 mph will increase your fuel economy by an average of 17.2 percent.

What does the cruise control symbol look like?

The controls needed to operate it are often located on the steering wheel or one of the car’s indicator stalks.

You’ll frequently need to depress a button labelled with the cruise control icon, which is a speedometer symbol with an arrow pointing in a specific direction (seen on the stalk below).

The following buttons are typically used to activate cruise control:

Cancel Instead of the off switch, there should be a button that just pauses the system, in case you get stopped behind a slower vehicle. The similar effect is produced by pressing the brake pedal.

Resume or Res After pausing the cruise control, press here to resume it. The vehicle will resume moving at the predetermined pace.

Up and Down, plus and minus These change the preset speed of the cruise control. You can hit the minus button to slow down, for instance, if you’re on a highway and come to a set of roadworks with a lower speed restriction.

Using the brake pedal will immediately pause the system and cause the car to slow down just as if the system were turned off, allowing you to override cruise control whenever necessary. The speed of the car will rise if the accelerator is pressed. The cruise control typically stays on when you release the gas pedal and brings the vehicle back to its predetermined pace.

Will using cruise control damage your car?

Good for you for exercising caution! Fortunately, cruise control doesn’t harm your vehicle. Contrary to popular belief, cruise control is frequently preferable for your vehicle than constant acceleration and deceleration.

The driveline suffers damage when acceleration is performed manually. Also, it consumes more fuel. In conclusion, using cruise control is beneficial for your car, especially when traveling long distances.

Honda warning lights and dashboard symbols guide

We’ve all been there – suddenly seeing a yellow or red warning light flash up on the dashboard and had a panic, wondering: “what does that mean”.

If you're unsure about what a particular warning symbol means, don’t worry – we’re here to shine a light on all of the dashboard symbols you need to know. These symbols appear in most Honda cars, including the latest Honda Civic, Honda CR-V, Honda e, Honda Jazz and Honda HR-V.

As a rule, think of the traffic light system:

Green warning light – these warning lights provide information only, such as when a system is turned on.

Amber warning symbol – an action is required when this light is on. If it’s an issue a professional needs to take a look at, now is the time to book into a garage.

Red warning light – you should stop the car as soon as it is safe to do so when a red dashboard light appears.

What colour is your warning light?

If the anti-lock braking system (ABS) light is on it means the anti-lock braking system isn’t working properly. You shouldn’t drive if this light is on as your vehicle may be in danger of skidding if you need to brake sharply.

The automatic brake hold system is on – but it may be out of use. See ‘Automatic brake hold indicator’ for details.

Every car has a battery, whether you have a petrol-powered Honda Jazz or the all-electric Honda e. If the battery warning light appears, it may be a sign your car battery is coming to the end of its life. You should get it checked as soon as possible.

This warning light will appear if there’s an issue with the power-assisted steering in your vehicle. It could mean there’s an issue with the pump, or there might be a leak – so definitely get the vehicle checked at a garage.

If this warning symbol appears, it could indicate that coolant fluid is low or there may be a blockage which could cause overheating. Stop your vehicle when it’s safe to do so, locate the coolant reservoir in the engine bay, and check if the level is below the minimum.

When this light appears, you should switch your vehicle’s engine off and check your oil levels (the handbook will give you a step-by-step guide on how to do this if you are unsure). You will need to top up the oil if it is below the minimum.

If the oil can with an exclamation mark lights up when your engine is on, the oil level sensor needs checking by a professional.

If this symbol appears when you’re driving, you should stop as soon as possible as it means a door is open.

While stopped : The parking brake is on. The light will switch off after 30 seconds if you’ve stopped. While driving : If this comes on while moving, stop immediately as the brake fluid might be low or there might be a problem with the brake system.

This warning symbol provides a reminder to the driver – and sometimes front passenger – to put their seatbelt on while the vehicle is moving.

The SRS warning light will be illuminated if the airbag has been disabled. This will need attention as soon as possible as it means the airbags will not deploy if they need to.

If you see this warning light, it could mean there is a fault with the suspension.

When the adjustable speed limiter button is pressed, this light will show and the vehicle won’t be able to exceed the given speed.

If your vehicle has auto idle stop, like the Honda CR-V, it means the vehicle will stop when idle to preserve fuel. If the warning light is green, it’s functioning correctly. If it’s amber, a fault has been detected.

The blind sport warning will alert you if it detects a car on either side of your vehicle. The symbol will appear on the relevant wing mirror and you may hear an alert sound.

Your daytime running lights are an extra safety measure to help make it easier for people to see you during the day. You’ll know they’ve been activated when you see this symbol.

Diesel cars have filters which trap harmful particulates. It this warning light appears on your dashboard, you can regenerate the filter by driving at a speed of 37mph until it disappears. If the light reappears with an exclamation mark, the filter may need to be replaced.

The engine has multiple sensors along with the exhaust system. There could be many reasons why this warning symbol has appeared, so it should be taken to a garage as soon as possible.

This system works with the Lane Departure Warning System and will apply the brakes if there is a hazard detected. This is when you’ll see this light.

When the fuel level warning light appears, it is a warning to drivers that they need to fill up. There will still be fuel in the tank, but not much. The fuel light tends to appear when there is less than 10% in the tank.

This light will only appear on diesel cars. A sign of wear-and-tear, glow plugs help a vehicle start in cold weather. If the light stays on when car is driving, they may need to be replaced.

If your car is equipped with a Lane Departure Warning System, this light will alert the driver if the car is veering out of its lane.

This indicator comes on if there’s a problem with the electric parking brake system. If it stays on, avoid using your parking brake (if you must stop, in manual cars park in-gear, in automatic cars use P)

This shows there’s a problem with the electric vehicle system or plug-in charging system. Have it checked by your dealer.

The ready indicator comes on when the vehicle is ready to drive, such as in the all-electric Honda e.

This warning light will let you know that your rear fog lights are on.

If you notice this warning light, it means your car is due a routine service – either an oil and filter change, or a full service. A garage will confirm the work required.

If your Honda is equipped with a smart entry system, this light could signify an issue with the starting system for the push button.

The tyre pressure light is a very common warning symbol. It means that one tyre has low pressure. You should check the air pressure in all tyres – the handbook will advise the correct air pressure.

All new Hondas have this warning symbol installed. It’s part of a system which can help prevent your vehicle from skidding. If this light is on, it could mean the VSA has been turned off or that an inspection is needed.

This sign usually means you should top up your washer fluid. It can be dangerous to drive with a dirty windscreen – so it’s important to keep your screen wash at optimum levels.

This light should appear when adaptive cruise control is turned on.

ECON mode is fitted to help make your Honda as efficient as possible. When this button is pressed it will maximise the car’s efficiency by adjusting various elements, such as the air-conditioning.

Comes on for a few seconds when the power mode’s on, and when the car’s being moved by the electric motor, not the engine.

Comes on when you switch the power mode to ‘on’ and when the car’s in EV mode.

Front fog light

This light will appear when you activate your front fog lights.

This warning symbol appears when your lights are turned on. It will disappear once the lights are switched off.

How to use Cruise Control & Adaptive Cruise Control

Updated: Jul 27, 2021

How to use Cruise Control & Adaptive Cruise Control on a 2016 Honda Civic

One of the biggest questions we get on the 2016 Honda civic is How to use cruise control with the new feature of adaptive cruise control also known as ACC. ACC is an amazing feature on select Honda models and trim levels. ACC maintains a constant speed like traditional cruise control does; but also does so much more. When the driver engages ACC the car will automatically slow down to keep a safe distance from the car in front. The vehicle can also come to a complete stop and resume back to its set speed when the car in front begins to drive again. below are steps and a video to show you how to use the ACC on your vehicle.

Honda Adaptive Cruise Control

Below are Tips Describing How To Use Cruise Control & ACC

• To engage the cruise control system first press the main button on the steering wheel. ACC will appear on the instrument panel. Lane Keeping Assist or LKAS will be engaged also.

• The system can be set at any speed 25mph or greater. Accelerate to the desired speed and then press the set button on the steering wheel. When this is done 4 distance bars and an outline of a car will display next to ACC on the instrument panel. This indicates the following distance the vehicle is set at. If there is no vehicle ahead the car on the instrument panel will remain as just an outline. Once a car moves in front of your vehicle the outlined vehicle will fill in and become solid.

• when the driver presses the distance button on the steering wheel different following distances can be set. The distances can be set to short, middle, long, and extra long. The following distance also varies depending on one the vehicle's speed. For example, on the extra-long setting, the set following distance is 154 ft at 50 mph. Once the vehicle climbs to 65mph the set distance changes to 200ft.

• The set speed can be increased by pressing the res + button on the steering wheel. The speed can also be decreased by pressing the set - button on the steering wheel.

Canceling the System

• There are three ways to cancel the system. you can either press the cancel button or the Main button located on the steering wheel. You can also simply press the brake to cancel everything.

• The vehicle can also be set to traditional cruise control by pressing the distance button for at least one second. Once this is done the distance bars will disappear on the dash board and be replaced with "cruise mode". ACC can be re-activated by simply pressing the distance button again for at least one second.

QuickTakes:

  • In many Hondas, Cruise Main means all systems are go for cruise control
  • Once Cruise Main is activated, you still need to set your speed
  • Canceling cruise control doesn't cancel Cruise Main

Cruise control — not to be confused by the more advanced adaptive cruise control automated driver-assistance system — is a popular standard convenience found in many of today's automobiles. There are numerous ways to activate and use cruise control on modern cars, trucks, and SUVs , and not all systems operate in the same way. This can lead to confusion when getting behind the wheel of an unfamiliar brand. Here's what you need to know about the Cruise Main light on the dash of a Honda.

Cruise Main Means All Systems Are Go for Cruise Control

Some cruise-control systems activate as soon as you hit the on button, setting the vehicle's current speed as the baseline and allowing you to adjust it up or down from that point.

Other systems, like Honda's, operate differently. Turning the cruise-control system on — generally via a button on the steering wheel — causes the Cruise Main message to display on the dashboard. This doesn't mean that you can now take your foot off the accelerator pedal. It means the system has been activated and is ready to have its speed set.

Once Cruise Main Is Activated, You Still Need to Set Your Speed

On some models, setting your speed after activating Cruise Main might only be possible above 25 mph. On vehicles with adaptive cruise control that feature stop-and-go capability and low-speed following, you may be able to engage speed control when traveling more slowly.

Either way, the process of setting the cruise-control speed is accomplished by pushing the Set button on the steering wheel once you have the vehicle traveling at your desired pace. At this point, the gauge cluster should display Cruise Control in addition to Cruise Main to let you know the system is maintaining your rate of travel.

You can increase your speed using the RES/+ or RES/ACCEL button as well as resume (RES) the programmed speed after the cruise control system has been interrupted, such as when you tap the brakes.

Canceling Cruise Control Doesn't Cancel Cruise Main

If you do happen to tap the brakes while using cruise control or hit the Cancel button on the steering wheel, you will see the Cruise Control light on the dash disappear, but the Cruise Main display will remain visible.

This is because the system remains active even if there's no set speed or the previous set speed has been canceled. If you wish to deactivate the Cruise Main light, turn the system off by using the same button that activated it.

This means you won't have to push the cruise-control master button to resume the set speed, or to set a new one. You can instead use RES/+ or RES/ACCEL to accomplish both tasks. If you want to completely disable cruise control, you will have to toggle off the master Cruise button manually.

Honda Dashboard Warning Light Symbols

In order to maintain the highest level of safety, fuel economy and reliability, almost all modern cars have on-board computers – typically referred to as the ECU.

Located throughout the vehicle are sensors which relay information back to the ECU, and when something is not right, the ECU triggers information to the driver.

This information is relayed to the driver often via dashboard warning lights. These lights, or ‘symbols’ may have another message to aid the driver to better diagnose the issue.

Dashboard symbols are assigned a colour in order to provide an indication of the urgency of the problem. Green and blue symbols provide the driver with information only. For example, you main-beam headlights are on (blue) or that your directional indicator is on (green). Symbols that are orange or amber inform the driver that something needs to be done soon, but is not urgent. This could be an engine service for example. Red symbols relate to an urgent problem, particularity those that flash or are accompanied with an audible alert. Please note that many of these lights will illuminate on engine ignition and shortly go out after a few seconds.

This section covers the dashboard warning lights of various models of Honda cars, including the Civic, Accord, CRV, Jazz, HRV, Oddyssey, Pilot and Ridgeline. Some of the Honda dashboard warning lights may differentiate to those found in your car due to vehicles being made during different years and manufactured in different counties.

Honda brake dashboard warning light symbol

Honda brake dashboard warning light symbol

If symbol comes on while driving, there are two possibilities: the brake fluid is low, or there is a malfunction in the brake system. Lightly press brake pedal to check pedal pressure. If pedal feels OK, check brake fluid level the next time you stop. If pedal feels spongy, take immediate action as the braking system has malfunctioned. Slow down using engine braking if necessary to stop the vehicle. Avoid driving and have brakes checked by an authorised Honda technician. If symbol flashes, there’s a problem with the electric parking brake. Avoid using the electric parking brake and have checked. If the light illuminates in amber, avoid using the parking brake and have system checked. See why is the brake light on?

Honda Automatic Brake Hold dashboard light symbol

Honda Automatic brake Hold dashboard light

This is a safety system that automatically keeps the brakes applied after you have released the brake pedal and until you press the accelerator pedal. This is for temporary sue, such as waiting in a queue of traffic for example. System will hold the vehicle for around 10 minutes. Symbols vary depending on location of manufacture.

Honda Low Oil Pressure dashboard Warning light symbol

Low Oil Pressure dashboard Warning light

If you see this symbol illuminate whilst driving, immediate action is required. As soon as safe to do so, pull over and turn off the engine. Leave the engine off for around 3 minutes and check the oil level. Top-up if required and restart engine. If symbol remains off, drive as usual, if it remains on after 10 second, immediately turn off engine as low oil pressure can damage the engine. Do not attempt to start engine as serious mechanical damage is likely. Contact a Honda garage for repair. See how to check engine oil for a complete in-depth guide on checking your car’s engine oil and topping up.

Honda Malfunction Indicator (MIL) dashboard Warning light symbol

Malfunction Indicator dashboard Warning light

This Honda malfunction indicator lamp (or engine management light ) illuminates (steady) to indicate a problem with the emissions control system. This is not urgent but will require attention soon. If symbol flashes, stop as soon as possible, turn off engine and allow to cool down for 10 minutes. This is to indicate a misfire with the engine cylinders has been detected. Take vehicle to Honda dealer as soon as possible.

Honda Hot Engine Temperature Warning light symbol

Engine Temperature Indicator dashboard Warning light

This engine temperature warning light may illuminate on certain models of the Honda Fit / Jazz or certain older models of the Honda Civic and Accord. If the light flashes red, this indicates the engine coolant is increasing and continuing to rise. Drive slowly to prevent overheating. If the light comes on (non-blinking), stop immediately. Allow engine to cool and check engine coolant. See what is engine coolant for a description on how to check. If the engine coolant lights in blue and stays on when engine up to running temperature, this indicates a problem with the temperature sensors. This is not an emergency but should be checked soon. See engine temperature warning light explained .

Honda Battery dashboard Warning light symbol

Battery dashboard Warning light

The battery warning light will come on while driving to indicate that the battery is not being charged. If the light illuminates, turn off anything in the vehicle that is drawing an electrical charge, particularly those that draw significant power such as rear window defogger and the climate control system. If you stop temporarily, do not turn off the engine as starting uses a significant draw on battery energy. See Why is the battery light on for information what to do.

Honda IMA Battery dashboard Warning light symbol

Honda IMA Battery dashboard Warning light

IMA or ‘Integrated Motor Assist’ is Honda’s hybrid car battery technology. The IMA light will illuminate to inform the driver that a battery pack is no longer charging. Replacing the battery pack will enable the IMA light to go out.

Honda Antilock Brakes (ABS) dashboard Warning light symbol

Anti-Lock Brake System dashboard Warning light

The anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) helps to prevent the wheels from locking up under braking and therefore allowing greater control. ABS essentially pumps the brakes rapidly, whilst continuously monitoring signs of wheel lock-up. ABS is a safety feature built into most modern cars and is a separate component to your normal brakes. If the ABS light comes on your Honda dashboard while driving, it signals a problem with your ABS. Normal brakes will work as usual, though due to the ABS malfunction, your wheels are more likely to lock under heavy braking or slippery road surfaces. Have the system checked as soon as possible.

Honda Airbag dashboard Warning light symbol

Honda Airbag dashboard Warning light

Light should come on when you start the car and go out shortly after. Typically associated with the airbag, if this symbol illuminates there can be a problem detected with any of the following: supplemental restraint system, side airbag system, side curtain airbag system or the seat belt tensioner. If the light stays on permanently or does not come on at all at ignition, have vehicle checked immediately. For further information about airbags and possible faults, see why is the airbag light on?

Honda Civic Immobiliser key dashboard warning light

Honda Civic Immobiliser Key Dashboard Warning Light

The immobiliser key dashboard warning light is for older versions of the Honda Civic and helps to protect the vehicle from theft. When ignition is switched to ‘on’, immobiliser key light should briefly illuminate then go off. If light blinks, it means the system does not recognise the coding of the key. Turn the ignition switch to the ‘lock’ position, remove the key, reinsert it and turn the ignition switch to the ‘on’ position again. If your Civic still fails to start, contact a Honda technician.

Honda Vehicle Stability Assist dashboard Warning light symbol

Stability Assist dashboard Warning light

The Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) dashboard symbol will blink when the system has been activated. VSA helps to keep your car stable when the vehicle becomes unstable. If the VSA light illuminates constantly, there is a fault with the system. Have it checked by an authorised Honda dealer.

Honda Electric Power Steering dashboard Warning light symbol

Electric Power Steering dashboard Warning light

The Electric Power Steering (EPS) light should come on for a short period of time with engine ignition and go off shortly after. If the light fails to come on at all, or comes on constantly while driving, the EPS system has failed. Symbol may come on with increased engine revs and steering will feel heavy. This can be to do with the EPS centre point steering angle being lost from memory. Disconnected battery, blown fuse or low battery can cause this issue. Stop vehicle, turn off and restart engine. If the EPS, VSA, VSA OFF, CMBS and low tyre indicator light come on simultaneously, the VSA and EPS systems need to be calibrated. Driving at a speed of more than 12 mph will calibrate the systems. If none of the above works, have vehicle checked by Honda Specialist.

Honda Low Tyre Pressure dashboard Warning light symbol

Low Tyre Pressure dashboard Warning light

Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) light comes on with ignition and should go out shortly after. Light may come on when ignition is switched to ‘ON’, but car has not been moved within 45 seconds to indicate self-calibration has not yet completed. If light stays on, this indicates that one or more of the tyres has a significantly low pressure, or the system has not been calibrated. Check tyres pressures as soon as is safe to do so. If tyre pressures are good and light remains on, calibrate TPMS. MAke sure the vehicle is at a total stop, set manual transmission to ‘N’. variable transmissions to ‘P’ and ensure the ignition switch is set to ‘ON’. If symbol flashes and you do not have a compact spare tyre installed, there’s a fault with the TMPS. See tyre pressure warning light keeps coming on .

Honda System Message Indicator (i light) dashboard Warning light symbol

The Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) light comes on when there’s a problem and the system shuts down. There are two possible issues; the temperature inside the camera unit is too high. Use the climate control system to cool it down. Or the area around the camera is blocked by mud and dirt. Clean the area around the camera. If these fail, see assistance from a Honda dealer.

Honda Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Warning light symbol

Adaptive Cruise Control dashboard Warning Light

Amber – The Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) light comes on with Low Speed Follow (LSF) indicated that there is dirt covering the radar sensor and will prevent the radar from detecting the vehicle in front. Clean the area around the radar sensor. Light may also come on during bad weather as it struggles to detect and may automatically cancel the system.  Green – Will come on when in operation, but when ACC with ASF is in operation and the temperature is too high in the front sensor compartment, system may cancel along with a beep. Use climate control to cool the camera down.

Honda Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) Warning light symbol

Lane Keeping Assist System dashboard Warning Light

The Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) light will illuminate amber to indicate a problem with the system. If the LKAS or ACC and LKAS light stays on constantly, seek assistance from authorised Honda dealer. If light is green, but automatically cancels along with a beep, either the temperature is too high in the camera department (use the climate control system to cool it down) or there is dirt covering the camera (clean the area around the camera). Light may also come on during bad weather.

Honda Collision Mitigating Braking System Warning light symbol

Collision Mitigating Braking System Warning Light

The Collision Mitigating Braking System (CMBS) detects an impending collision with another vehicle or pedestrian and is designed to lessen the severity of an avoidable impact. Problems may occur where CMBS fails to work, such as: bad weather condition, sudden changes in light, for example driving through a tunnel, little contrast between an object and the background, low light conditions or very strong reflecting light, driving in shadows (trees and buildings), reflections on the interior of the windscreen and roadway objects may be misinterpreted as vehicles or pedestrian. IF the CMBS light comes on and stays on, ensure that the area around the camera is clean, the radar sensor is clean. If the light stays on, the temperature inside the camera may be too high, use the climate control system to cool the camera.

Honda VSA Warning light symbol

Civic / Accord VSA System Warning Light

These are the dashboard symbols you may see in slightly older versions of the Honda Civic and Accord. The Vehicle Stability Assistant (VSA) light should come on with ignition and go out shortly. If it stays on or does not come one at all, there’s a problem with the VSA system. Your Honda will still have normal driving ability, but you will not have traction and stability enhancement. The triangle with an exclamation mark is the VSA activation indicator. It will come on (stable) indicating you have turned VSA off, flashing ti indicate VSA is active and on with the VSA symbol to indicate a problem.

Honda Civic / Accord DRL Dashboard Warning Light

Honda Civic / Accord DRL Warning Light

Daytime Running Lights, or ‘DRL’ are activated during daylight to enable your vehicle to be better seen. This symbol is generally seen on older models of the Honda Civic and Honda Accord. If the light comes on when the ignition is switched to the ‘on’ position and the parking brake has been released, it indicates a fault with the DRL or the high beam headlights.

I have got smart entry system indicator dashboard symbol for a few days .Is it dangerous to drive by ignoring it?By the way ,my car is Honda HR V.Thank you in advance for your recommendations.

' src=

Hi Süleyman, Shouldn’t be dangerous to drive, seems to be an issue with the engine start/stop button.

' src=

For last two days my car dashboard has illuminated an amber warning light with a diagonal lines across a letter A with a half circular arrow over and around it, and a battery symbol underneath. I have driven it around for two hours and a driver on the motorway to try to recharge the battery but the warning light is still illuminated.

Please can you tell me is the problem and does it require urgent attention?

Hi Sam, It sounds like the engine auto-start stop system is not working. This is almost always due to the battery being insufficiently charged. The best way to sort this (especially if you do mainly short journeys) is to get yourself a battery charger and leave it charging over night. Make sure you haven’t left any utilities on in the car that might drain battery power, this includes heating in the front / rear of the car. If you’re still having problems after checking that and charging the battery over night, have the battery tested.

' src=

My Honda Civic starts but after driving for about 15mins and only when I stop at traffic lights etc . The dashboard shows A with half circle over it and a line through it and a battery sign to the right . I have been leaving engine Running and car Battery charging Weekly during lockdown . Is it safe to drive until garages open after lockdown?

Hi Patricia, Sounds to me like the auto engine stop start system not working due to the battery being insufficiently charged. It should be fine to keep driving. Check that you haven’t accidentally left any utilities running in the car that you may be unaware of – rear heaters, heated windscreen etc. Things that drain the battery.

' src=

I have a FC sign where the fuel gauge and heat gauges are.

Hi I’m got on my dash board screen SYSTEM MESSAGE INDICATOR DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT how should it will go is it any danger sign.

Hi Clive, are there no other messages to read?

Mines is odd. 2018 type R after 30 miles the low oil indicator comes on yet turn out there’s actually slightly to much oil in it.

Doesn’t come on everytime though

Hi Lee. Possibly the oil level sensor fault.

Hello, i have HRV HONDA and the last 20 days the dashboard lights and symbols flashing, when the car’s engine is off or the car is locked, I’ve been to the official dealer and they can’t see anything.

Hello Pan, Did the warning lights flash with the engine off when you were at the official dealer? Is it certain warning lights or every single warning light?

Got 2018 15i civic power plus got key symbol then shock absorber coming on off in centre of dash brown in colour what does that mean

' src=

Just got a 2012 hondat fit hybrid. The ‘i’ symbol just came on. What does it mean?

Hello Laz, It’s the system message indicator light, it means that there’s a message for you to read. If you scroll through your settings menu, you should be able to see it.

' src=

My stability sign light, the power steering, the check engine light, and brake system lights they all come on all at once what could cause this issue, I’m driving a 2017 Honda Civic…

Difficult to say Tony. Often, if there’s an engine fault (check engine light), ESC (electronic stability control) – or whatever the version name on your vehicle can be intentionally disabled. The result of this may also affect the power steering and also cause the brake light to come on. First thing to do would be to use diagnostic equipment, either purchased or take your Honda to a vehicle workshop to use theirs, to scan for fault codes. See what’s causing the engine fault light to come on. By sorting that, it may in turn sort some of the other problems.

Hi Nestor, It’s usually a electrical issue. The first thing to do is to have your alternator checked to ensure it’s supplying enough charge.

I have a Honda Fit Hybrid 2018 , the engine cut off on me while driving, the steering icon along with the engine.,also uphill n downhill , Es! Lights came on , what does that mean ? Also no power when going uphill .

Hi Patricia, First thing to always do is to have diagnostics. A scan tool that plugs in and reads fault codes. If the engine is running erratically, it could be a problem with the hybrid system. Might be worth getting the hybrid battery tested. One of the most common reasons for engine randomly stalling and loss of power is a faulty crankshaft position sensor. Lots of other reasons too, so diagnostics is defiantly the first step to take.

Hi… I have HRV honda 2017. Recently happened the on hold brake sometime function (green on screen) sometime not…. what I noted it looked like connected with the brake. I bring the car to workshop, they said ok. What shall i do?

I use a Honda Pilot 2018 and the car last night displayed briefly “Check EB” when I turned off the ignition. Anyone knows what EB means and what I should do? The car has recently been refusing to start when it pleases even after just running the engine for a long while and over significant distances. Also recently, it starts at times even after a day or two without use. When it does not start, I have to borrow a battery to start it. My own battery is only a few months old. Any similar experience please and what solution resolved the situation?

I have a Honda CRV SE 2.0i-VTEC Station wagon 2002. A red car engine warning light has come on today. What does it mean? None of the sites on here show me.

Hi Joyce, So is the symbol of a red car or of the engine?

What does a blue i mean?

What does LIM mean? Also I have mph sign with 18 near it in grey I am booked in for a service but unsure what either symbol stands for

Hi Carole, It’s your Honda’s speed limiter. It’s just so you can adjust the speed so that your car does not exceed it, even if you’re pressing the accelerator pedal. The MPH is likely reference to the maximum set speed.

' src=

Hi I have a Honda CRV black edition 2016 when I drove it today a yellow light that I found out is low brake fluid came on then went to ctba then power steering and the crossing into another lane light it just keeps changing from one to the other does anyone know what the problem is?

' src=

When I was driving around a bend today the Amber warning Triangle with an exclamation mark inside came on for about 1 second. It has since not come back on, but thought it was very odd.

Would this indicate that the ESP was intervening?

VSA / ESP warnings typically flash when they are operating. If they are lit stable, it usually indicates a fault. Due to the light coming on so briefly, it’s difficult to say. Due to you going round a bend, it could trigger the stability systems. Best to keep an eye on it, but yes, you’re probably right. If it does come on (stable), it’s usually a problem with a wheel speed sensor.

ACC Conditions and Limitations

cruise control symbol honda

  • On roads with frequent lane-change or continuous stop and go traffic. ACC cannot keep an appropriate distance between your vehicle and vehicle ahead of you.
  • On roads with sharp turns.
  • On roads with toll collection facilities or other objects between lanes of traffic, or in parking areas, or facilities with drive through access.
  • On roads with bad weather (rain, fog, snow, etc.), ACC may not detect the distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you properly.
  • On roads with slippery or icy surfaces. The wheels may spin out and your vehicle may lose the control on the condition.
  • On roads with steep uphill or steep downhill slopes.
  • On roads with undulating slopes.

How to activate the system

cruise control symbol honda

To Set the Vehicle Speed

cruise control symbol honda

Take your foot off the pedal and press the RES/+ / SET/− switch up or down when you reach the desired speed. The moment you release the switch, the set speed is fixed, and ACC begins.

When you use ACC, Straight Driving Assist (a feature of the Electric Power Steering system) is activated. By enabling the steering system to automatically compensate for natural steering pull, Straight Driving Assist makes it easier for you to keep your vehicle in a straight line.

  • Models with A-type meter
  • Models with B-type meter

When ACC starts operating, the vehicle icon, interval bars and set speed appear on the gauge.

When in Operation

cruise control symbol honda

  • The vehicle ahead of you is going at almost the same speed as, or faster than, your vehicle.
  • A vehicle that cuts in front of you is going faster than your vehicle, gradually increasing the interval between the vehicles.

cruise control symbol honda

  • When the vehicle ahead of you moves away, such as when entering an interchange or rest area, ACC may continue to maintain the set following-interval for a short time.

There is a vehicle ahead

ACC monitors if a vehicle ahead of you enters the ACC range. If a vehicle is detected doing so, the ACC system maintains or decelerates your vehicle’s set speed in order to keep the vehicle’s set following-interval from the vehicle ahead.

To Set or Change Following-interval

cruise control symbol honda

When a vehicle whose speed is slower than your set speed is detected in front of you, your vehicle starts to slow down.

cruise control symbol honda

There is no vehicle ahead

While driving down steep hills, ACC brakes to inhibit excessive acceleration for maintaining the set speed. However, the vehicle speed may become faster than the set speed.

cruise control symbol honda

When you depress the accelerator pedal

The system may automatically shut off under certain conditions. Some examples of these conditions are listed below. Other conditions may reduce some of the ACC functions.

Environmental conditions

  • Driving in bad weather (rain, fog, snow, etc.).
  • Sudden changes between light and dark, such as the entrance or exit of a tunnel or the shadows of trees, buildings, etc.
  • Strong light is reflected onto vehicles or road surfaces.
  • Water is sprayed by or snow blown from a vehicle ahead.
  • Driving at night or in a dark place such as a tunnel (due to low-light conditions, the whole vehicle may not be illuminated).
  • Driving into low sunlight (e.g., at dawn or dusk).

Roadway conditions

cruise control symbol honda

  • Driving on rutted roads (snowy or unpaved roads, etc.).
  • Puddles or a film of water is on the road surface.
  • Your vehicle is strongly shaken on uneven road surfaces.

Vehicle conditions

  • The vehicle is tilted due to heavy load in the trunk or rear seats.
  • Tire chains are installed.
  • The front of the camera is covered by dirt, fog, rain, mud, wet snow, seals, accessories, stickers, or film of the windshield.
  • Driving at night or in a dark place (e.g., a tunnel) with the headlights off.
  • There is residue on the windshield from the windshield wipers.
  • When lighting is weak due to dirt covering the headlight lenses, or there is poor visibility in a dark place due to the headlights being improperly adjusted.
  • An abnormal tire or wheel condition (incorrect sizes, varied sizes or construction, improperly inflated, compact spare tire*, etc.).
  • The suspension has been modified.

Examples of conditions under which the camera may not correctly detect the vehicle ahead of you

  • A vehicle suddenly crosses in front of you.
  • The interval between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you is too short.
  • When the vehicle ahead of you blends in with the background, preventing the system from recognizing it.
  • The headlights of the vehicle ahead of you are lit on one side or not lit on either side in a dark place.

Examples of conditions under which the system may not work properly

  • A vehicle ahead of you stops and the speed difference between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you is significantly large.
  • When the vehicle ahead of you slows suddenly.
  • When a vehicle ahead of you is specially-shaped.

cruise control symbol honda

  • When your vehicle or the vehicle ahead of you is driving on the edge of the lane.
  • When the vehicle ahead of you is a narrow vehicle such as a motorcycle.

cruise control symbol honda

  • When the camera cannot correctly identify the shape of the vehicle ahead of you.

To Adjust the Vehicle Speed

Increase or decrease the vehicle speed using the RES/+ / SET/− switch on the steering wheel.

cruise control symbol honda

  • Each time you press the RES/+ / SET/− switch up or down, the vehicle speed is increased or decreased by about 1 mph or 1 km/h accordingly.
  • If you keep the RES/+ / SET/− switch pressed up or down, the vehicle speed increases or decreases by about 5 mph or 5 km/h accordingly.

Press the Interval button to change the ACC following-interval. Each time you press the button, the following-interval (the interval behind a vehicle detected ahead of you) setting cycles through furthest, far, mid, and nearest following-intervals.

Determine the most appropriate following-interval setting based on your specific driving conditions. Be sure to adhere to any following-interval requirements set by local regulation.

cruise control symbol honda

The higher your vehicle’s following-speed is, the longer the nearest, mid, far or furthest following-interval becomes. See the following examples for your reference.

Automatic cancellation

The beeper sounds and a message appears on the driver information interface when ACC is automatically canceled. Any of these conditions may cause the ACC to automatically cancel:

  • Bad weather (rain, fog, snow, etc.)
  • The vehicle ahead of you cannot be detected.
  • An abnormal tire condition is detected, or the tires are skidding.
  • Driving on a mountainous road for extended periods, or driving off road.
  • Abrupt steering wheel movement.
  • When the ABS, VSA ® , CMBS TM or Low Speed Braking Control* is activated.
  • When the VSA ® system indicator comes on.
  • When the vehicle is stopped on a very steep slope.
  • When you manually apply the parking brake.
  • When vehicle speed is less than 22 mph (35 km/h).
  • When the detected vehicle within the ACC range is too close to your vehicle.
  • When accelerating rapidly.
  • The front of the camera is covered by dirt, fog, rain, mud, wet snow, seals, accessories, stickers, or film on the windshield.
  • The engine is turned off.
  • The vehicle is loaded heavy load in the trunk or rear seats.
  • When passing through a dark place, such as tunnel.
  • When the parking brake and brake system indicator (amber) comes on.
  • The vehicle has repeatedly applied the brakes to maintain the set speed (for example, you are descending a long slope).
  • When the system doesn't detect any driving actions from the driver for a certain amount of time while the LKAS is also activated.
  • Ignoring shift down indication shown in the gauge will cancel the ACC after about 10 seconds.
  • The engine speed goes into the tachometer red zone.
  • The engine speed goes to below 1,000 rpm.
  • You shift into neutral temporarily when shifting into a higher or lower gear.
  • When the transmission is put into N without depressing the clutch pedal.

Technology overview

Assisting the driver to complete smooth cornering

The Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is a function where the system follows the vehicle in front maintaining the pre-set following distance on an expressway. When there is no vehicle in front, the system maintains the preset vehicle cruising speed.

With the Honda SENSING 360, the function of ACC was expanded. While cornering with ACC engaged, the system detects the curvature of the lane and adjusts vehicle speed to assist the driver to complete smooth cornering.

How it works

cruise control symbol honda

The front sensor camera detects-lane markings to calculate the curvature of the lane ahead and make adjustments to the vehicle speed for smooth cornering. The Cornering Speed Assist can be activated only when the ACC is engaged, not when the vehicle is being driven manually by the driver.

How it helps

The system uses the front sensor camera to detect the curvature of the lane ahead while ACC is engaged.

Detect the curvature

The system automatically adjusts the vehicle speed while cornering.

The system automatically adjusts the vehicle speed while cornering.

With conventional ACC, when the preset vehicle speed was not appropriate to the curvature of the corner, there was a possibility that excessive lateral G-force would occur as it enters the curve.

Therefore, the driver had to adjust the vehicle speed manually, and then engage ACC again after passing through the curve.

With the Cornering Speed Assist function, when ACC is engaged, the system uses the front sensor camera to detect the curvature of the lane and adjusts the vehicle speed so that the vehicle can complete the cornering without driver input. By reducing the braking operation by the driver during the cornering, the system contributes to the reduction of driver burden.

Commitment of Honda

Honda designed the system to enable the driver to preset the cornering speed – fast, normal and slow – depending on the driver's preference. This makes it possible for the system to meet preference of each driver.

【Video】Function introduction<CG>

The individual functions of the driver-assistive system have limited capabilities (e.g. recognition capability and control capability). Please do not overestimate the capabilities of any function and drive safely while paying constant attention to the vehicle's surroundings. A system may not work or perform adequately depending on road conditions, weather conditions and vehicle conditions.

Depending on the model and timing of the market launch of the model, descriptions provided on this page and the actual functions available on customers’ vehicles may be different. For the functions available for each vehicle, please check the owners’ manual of the respective vehicle.

Dashboard Warning Lights

Honda Jazz Dashboard Warning Lights (All Models 2001 to 2024)

Welcome to the ultimate guide to all dashboard symbols, warning lights, errors and faults for the 2001 to 2024 Honda Jazz to assist in troubleshooting, diagnosis and solving these problems for this small car.

Please note: This guide covers every single possible symbol/warning light for ALL model variations for Honda Jazz, including standard, premium and top-of-the-line models, plus variations in body shape. While this guide does cover your specific car , your car may not have all the symbols featured on this list.

Honda Jazz Symbols and Warnings Guide

There are 25+ possible lights that may illuminate for a variety of reasons.

While this guide is helpful, please refer to your owner’s manual after reading through this list.

Honda Jazz Engine Fault

cruise control symbol honda

There are hundreds of reasons why the check engine warning fault light comes on, and only your dealer or mechanic is qualified to address this.

Common reasons include a loose fuel cap, excess vibration, a blocked cylinder, a bad fuel mix, excessive heat and half power.

This may also highlight an issue with your transmission.

Honda Jazz Check Engine Oil

cruise control symbol honda

This means your engine oil is running low or has been completely drained. Your engine may have an extensive oil leak and a mechanic will be required urgently.

At this stage, it’s not recommended that you drive your vehicle.

Honda Jazz Attention / Warning / Fault Detected

cruise control symbol honda

Either of these two lights will illuminate to get your attention to other dashboard warning lights and symbols.

These lights can also mean that the handbrake is engaged.

Honda Jazz Battery

cruise control symbol honda

This means your battery has low voltage and may need a replacing.

Should you choose to drive your vehicle with a faulty battery, you risk losing power to your battery at high speeds.

Many mechanics will prefer to visit your home to replace your car’s engine battery, rather than have you drive to them.

Honda Jazz Press Foot Brake

cruise control symbol honda

This symbol is your Honda Jazz telling you to press the foot brake.

This is required before starting the engine and moving the vehicle out of Park.

Honda Jazz Handbrake Engaged

cruise control symbol honda

Your handbrake is engaged.

This can be disengaged by hand, or your vehicle may have a handbrake that is disengaged with your foot.

Honda Jazz Airbag Fault

cruise control symbol honda

This means your driver’s side or passenger side airbag has a fault and may not deploy when required. However, it’s quite common for this light to illuminate due to a faulty sensor, rather than a faulty airbag.

Take your vehicle to your mechanic for inspection as soon as possible.

Honda Jazz High Radiator Coolant Temperature

cruise control symbol honda

This symbol represents excessive heat from your engine’s radiator. If ignored, you risk overheating your engine very quickly.

Common reasons are a low coolant level and a leak in the radiator.

Call or visit a mechanic immediately.

Honda Jazz Parking Sensors

cruise control symbol honda

This symbol represents the front or rear parking sensors. You will also hear an audible beep as you get closer to a wall, pole, tree or other object when reversing.

Honda Jazz Bulb Not Working

cruise control symbol honda

This means one of your driving lights has stopped working and requires either a bulb replacement or fuse replacement.

Honda Jazz Low Beam Lights On

cruise control symbol honda

This means your front standard driving lights are on.

These lights are used for 99.9% of driving.

Honda Jazz High Beam Lights On

cruise control symbol honda

This means your front high-beam driving lights are on.

These lights are used for 0.01% of driving and typically for country roads late at night. Fines can apply for use of high beams in dense residential areas. Do NOT use high team driving lights within 400 metres (1,000 feet) of an oncoming car.

Honda Jazz Automatic Low Beam Lights On

cruise control symbol honda

This means your front automatic standard driving lights are on.

These will illuminate by themselves on dusk, when entering tunnels and in other low light situations.

Honda Jazz Automatic High Beam Lights On

cruise control symbol honda

This means your front automatic high-beam driving lights are on.

Please be wary that these lights do not turn themselves on automatically around other cars.

Honda Jazz Automatic Lights Malfunction

cruise control symbol honda

Honda Jazz’s come with automatic lights, however, these can malfunction.

This is often an issue with the front low-light sensor. You may continue to drive and simply use your normal on/off headlight function until you visit a mechanic.

Honda Jazz Glow Plug Indicator Symbol

cruise control symbol honda

This is the Glow Plug Indicator symbol, which is found only in diesel-powered variants of Honda Jazz. Diesel engines require heat in the cylinders to operate, which is supplied initially by its glow plugs when the engine is freezing cold.

When illuminating green, this is operating perfectly but when yellow, a fault may exist.

Honda Jazz Vehicle Is In Park

cruise control symbol honda

This means your vehicle is in Park.

Honda Jazz Hood / Bonnet Is Open

cruise control symbol honda

While your front hood/bonnet may appear closed, it may show open on the sensor.

Honda Jazz Front Fog Lights Enabled

cruise control symbol honda

This means your Honda Jazz front fog lights are engaged. A similar symbol exists for the rear warning lights.

Note: In some areas, it is illegal to use fog lights when it isn’t foggy. Please check with your local authority.

Honda Jazz ABS System Fault / ABS System Off

cruise control symbol honda

Your vehicle’s ABS system has a fault and may not engage under heavy braking.

Please visit a mechanic as soon as possible.

Honda Jazz ECO Mode On

cruise control symbol honda

ECO mode in a Honda Jazz is an optimum driving mode.

Your throttle will not respond favorably to performance driving.

Instead, your fuel economy will be at its best, hence the term ‘Eco’.

Honda Jazz Truck / Boot Open

cruise control symbol honda

While your rear trunk/boot may appear closed, it may show open on the sensor.

Honda Jazz Front Radar Engaged

cruise control symbol honda

This means your front sensor is engaged.

This feature provides autonomous braking and adaptative cruise control.

Honda Jazz Lane Assistant On

cruise control symbol honda

This means your lane-keeping assistant is on.

This feature allows your vehicle to remain straight within its lane.

This may only engage above 40km/h or 25mp/h.

Honda Jazz ESP / ESC Engaged

cruise control symbol honda

This means your Honda’s Electronic Stability Programme (or Electronic Stability Control in some countries) has been engaged.

This typically engages on wet, muddy or icy roads.

Honda Jazz Check Brake Fluid

cruise control symbol honda

This means your brake fluid has become low and may require topping up.

Honda Jazz Check Brake Pads

cruise control symbol honda

This means your brake pads have become low.

This may be difficult to check and may require visiting a mechanic as soon as possible.

Honda Jazz Steering Wheel Locked

cruise control symbol honda

This means your steering wheel is locked.

This is an anti-theft symbol that flashes when your vehicle is locked.

Honda Jazz Service Due Soon

cruise control symbol honda

This means your vehicle is due for servicing soon.

Your mechanic may have programmed an alert within your car’s computer to illuminate this symbol upon crossing a certain odometer reading.

Honda Jazz Heated Seats

cruise control symbol honda

This means your heated seats are on.

The number of vertical lines represents the level of heat.

Honda Jazz Cruise Control Activated

cruise control symbol honda

This means your cruise control has been activated and is ready to use.

However, your cruise control will not be on. It’s simply ready to switch on.

Cars often use 2-buttons to avoid accidentally turning on cruise control.

Honda Jazz Check Wheel

cruise control symbol honda

This means you have an issue with your wheel.

This isn’t the rubber tire but the wheel itself.

Issues include alignment, steering and balance.

Honda Jazz Heated Windscreen

cruise control symbol honda

This means your windscreen is being heated to melt frost or ice.

This may turn itself off automatically.

Honda Jazz Air Suspension Fault

cruise control symbol honda

If your Honda Jazz has air suspension, then this symbol represents a fault.

This could be a deflated rear suspension air bag, an air leak or a sensor issue.

Honda Jazz Tire Air Pressure Fault

cruise control symbol honda

This means your tire pressure is either too low, or the sensor has faulted.

This requires calling or visiting your dealership as soon as possible.

Honda Jazz Intermediate Windscreen Wipers On

cruise control symbol honda

This means your automatic windscreen wipers are on. No action is required.

Ultimately, your car is trying to tell you something. You should consult your owner’s manual and have your car inspected by a qualified mechanic as soon as possible.

Symbols Have Different Colors

Much like traffic lights, the color of your dashboard symbol light is just as important as what it means. The lights can also flash to draw your attention to a more severe and time-sensitive issue.

When a Honda dashboard warning light is green or blue, they are simply telling you that one of your car’s features is being used, or has been activated. No action is required at this time.

When a light is yellow, your car is trying to tell you that a less common safety feature of the car is being used (such as stability control on wet roads), a mild fault has been detected or a repair may be required. If you’re unsure, you should seek the services of a mechanic or dealership as soon as possible.

Orange or Red

If the dashboard on your Honda is orange or red, this can be a signal that your vehicle is experiencing a problem that needs urgent attention . You MUST call or visit your dealership or mechanic immediately.
