How to unlock fast travel in Gotham Knights

Of all the gifts Batman could’ve left for Batgirl and co., why’d he forget this one?

A gloomy, overhead view of Gotham City at night

One of the reasons Batman strikes fear into the hearts of criminals throughout Gotham City is his ability to pop up anywhere at any time. In Gotham Knights , his four protégés — Batgirl, Red Hood, Nightwing, and Robin — have a slightly harder time getting around.

Sure, you can grapple-hook from ledge to ledge, summon the Batcycle at street level, and eventually unlock character-specific traversal powers. But what about fast travel? It’s practically a must for modern open-world games.

Thankfully, although it’s not available from the start, Gotham Knights does indeed have a fast travel system. Here’s how to unlock it.

Nightwing stands next to Lucius Fox on the roof of a building in Gotham City in Gotham Knights.

Meet Lucius Fox

Story progression alone doesn’t unlock Gotham Knights fast travel automatically, but it does unlock the ability to unlock fast travel. Bear with us.

Do patrols and story missions until you receive a message from Lucius Fox , who in this iteration of the DC universe is currently the head of his own company, Foxteca. For us, this happened after we infiltrated Blackgate Penitentiary and met with Harley Quinn.

Fox aided Batman by providing him with gadgets and R&D, and he’s eager to do the same for the Bat-family now. Meet him on the roof of Foxteca HQ and he’ll set you on the path to unlocking fast travel.

Scan drones

Fox has developed a mech-like wing suit that can ferry you around the city in seconds, but of course, things can’t be quite that easy. It turns out each region of Gotham is now patrolled by GCPD drones that will shoot you down if you don’t compromise them first.

Nightwing stares at a surveillance drone on the roof of a building in Gotham Knights.

Doing so involves scanning them using the game’s AR mode. Each of the city’s zones has its own set of drones to scan, after which the fast travel point for that area becomes available from the map screen.

The first one is easy, but the GCPD will subsequently develop miraculous shield technology that blocks your scans until they stop at a dock. That makes scanning some drones pretty tedious, as you basically have to follow their lazy, looping flight paths until they stop for a rest.

Unfortunately, that’s the price of unlocking fast travel in Gotham Knights . Thankfully, you only have to do it once for each section of the city, and then you’re done.

11 essential Batman: Arkham Knight tips to know before you play

Follow our top Batman: Arkham Knight tips and you'll soon be dishing out justice across Gotham like a pro

Batman: Arkham Knight tips

Some Batman: Arkham Knight tips will be handy as Batman: Arkham Knight glides onto PS5 as part of the new PS Plus Collection games list. There’s never been a better time to (re) don the cape and cowl. Yet even if you’ve played Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, a lot has changed in the grumpy Gothamite’s third Rocksteady outing. Set nine months after the events of Arkham City, Scarecrow has unleashed a deadly new strain of fear toxin upon Batman’s metropolis, causing its populace to flee as Gotham’s streets are reclaimed by deadly criminals. With a shiny new batmobile to get to grips with, an Alfred-approved arsenal to play with and a massively expanded Gotham to liberate, you’ll need to adapt quickly if you want to survive. Luckily for you then, we have 11 essential Batman: Arkham Knight tips to help get you through unscathed.

1. Please, please, please turn on the toggle for the Batmobiles Battle Mode

arkham knight fast travel

After you've been to the Gotham City Police Department for the first time, venture into the game options and set the Batmobile's tank mode toggle to on. A tap of the right bumper or R1 will now switch Batmans armor-plated city sled between drivin' and blastin' modes, making for a more sensible control scheme overall. The tank's vulcan cannon goes on left trigger and its primary cannon goes on the right, just as the video game tank god intended.

Before this change, the Batmobile turns into a roving gun whenever you hold the left trigger - or whenever you want to brake in the Batmobile and mistakenly extend Batmans cannon with embarrassing prematurity. Another bonus with toggle: The drift button is mapped to Square or X, making it far easier to handle tight corners in the Batmobile. Not that you should be too worried about threading through alleys: Batmans car can withstand plenty of scrapes without losing speed, so don't worry about garbage cans, benches, trees or any of the pointless attempts at obscuring Gotham's terribleness.

2. You can get the shock gun as soon as you arrive at the GCPD

arkham knight fast travel

You can take the shock gun, or Remote Electrical Charge in gadget parlance, as soon as you arrive at the Gotham City Police Department for the first time. Its locked up in the evidence room, but its shielded only by a pathetic layer of glass, belongs to you in the first place and - oh yeah - YOU ARE BATMAN. Just take it.

As you leave the room you'll overhear police officers consider and then quickly cancel the idea of stopping your impromptu removal of evidence. You can march out with confidence, knowing that you've gotten early dibs on one of the most useful gadgets in the game. Its handy in solving a few of Riddlers conundrums later on, but you'll really want to fire it during combat (LT + Circle, or LT + B), where it will stun enemies, trigger their machine guns in undirected fire, and remove electrical shielding from the crooks you cant normally punch.

3. Pick people up and punch them AGAIN

The wonderful cadence in Arkham Knights combat has you flitting between numerous goons, delivering a biff here and a pow there. Some enemies are temporarily knocked down, leaving you free to deal with the others behind you, but your merciful restraint is costing you in the combo meter. If you have a chance, you can press RT + Circle (or RT + B) to lift up dazed opponents and thrust them back into the fight.

Why do we fall, minor henchman? So Batman can pick us up, pepper us with punches and extract that delicious combo juice. A well-timed pummelfest can help push you past the 8x multiplier quickly, which then lets you do an instant takedown of a tougher enemy nearby.

4. Demolish Brutes with environmental hazards

arkham knight fast travel

Brutes, the large and padded men populating every respectable supervillains menagerie of minions, can really trip up your flow. Usually, you need to stun them with your cape (you know, like how you were stunned and dazed as a child when you ran through sheets on the clothesline) and then punch them 15, 20 times while countering incoming blows from behind.

To speed up the process, try pushing or luring Brutes to environmental hazards, activated with Square + X, or X + A. They glow blue in unison with enemies that are in range, and they're indiscriminate in who they knock out permanently - even a Brute at full health wont get up after you knock them into an electrical box or drop one of Gotham's many industrial lamps on them. The city planners must have gotten them with that bulk shipment of stone gargoyles.

5. Dont bother with watchtowers until you have the Remote Hacking Device

arkham knight fast travel

The Arkham Knights propensity for erecting towers all over Gotham seems to hint at his true identity as a disgruntled Ubisoft game designer. His militarized towers don't reveal anything other than an opportunity to punch optional dudes, though, so their difficulty tends to be higher than most challenges stemming from the main story. As such, they're often guarded by emplaced sentry guns, which are huge pains in the bat-posterior.

You'll come across a few of the Knights watchtowers early on, but don't bother swooping through the red lights until you've obtained the Remote Hacking Device in the story. The wireless gadget lets you temporarily blind sentry guns, letting you tussle with tower guards without having to worry about getting shot. Even a fully upgraded batsuit can only shield you from bullets for so long, and the hassle without hacking just isn't worth suffering through a lengthy loading screen.

6. Bring all the guns to a knife fight

Its easy to forget the Batmobile's other flourishes in the roar of its fiery exhaust. Its a valuable puzzle-solving tool throughout the game, thanks to its sturdy winch and cable, but it can also help you deal with tougher gatherings of goons. Sometimes its best to think of it as another gadget in Batmans arsenal.

If you're about to descend on a batch of buffoons, take a look around and see if they're near a road or a window. Chances are you can remotely summon the Batmobile and leave it parked nearby. Now, after building up your combo meter and spotting an outline of blue on your target, you can press A + X (or X + Square) to uppercut them into the air and marvel as your car blows them out of the sky like a crooked clay pigeon. This cool maneuver, like many others in the game, continue to show Batmans questionable grasp of the words non and lethal.

7. Upgrade your tank weapons sooner, rather than later

arkham knight fast travel

If you intend on completing the majority of side quests in Batman: Arkham Knight, there'll be plenty of points later on to upgrade Batmans suit, fists and gadgets. At the outset, its better to focus on beefing up the Batmobile's cannons. The Arkham Knight has more drones than a militarized Amazon warehouse, and taking them out with fewer shots will help battles breeze by and just seem more fun.

Bruce Waynes friend and inventor Lucius Fox will also offer a choice of upgrades to the Batmobile as the story progresses. The most useful of these, which you should get as soon as possible, is the EMP, short for Electro-Magnetic Pulse and even shorter for Id like to destroy some drones while they're immobile and defenseless, muahahaha.

8. Beat a few story missions first when you arrive at a new island

arkham knight fast travel

Because urban planners desperately wanted to add drowning beneath a bridge to the long list of horrible things you sign up for when you move to Gotham, the city is split between three major islands. You start on Bleake Island (seriously, why does anyone live here?), but from there you'll venture into Magiani and Founders Islands as you track down the Scarecrow and his debilitating fear toxin.

Your video gaming impulse will be to clear out an island of side quests as soon as you get to it - and before you move on - but you'll run into a lot of dead ends this way, especially for tasks that require the Batmobile. To avoid wasting time, and to pursue side quests organically, whenever, play the story missions until your beloved butler Alfred lowers the bridge to that island. Once thats done, the Batmobile has access to the roads and can bail you out if you get in trouble with drones. It also gives Alfred something to do beyond listening to Batman batsplain every little thing he's doing. YES, sir, of course you're using the deep tissue scanner. I get it, it makes sense.

9. If you upgrade Batman, focus on Fear Multi-Takedowns

arkham knight fast travel

Batmans predatory style is more refined than ever in Arkham Knight, thanks to the new Fear Multi-Takedown system. Provided you've taken enough foes out in silence - just enough to induce a little panic in the rest - you can instantly take out several clustered thugs back-to-back by popping out of a grate or dropping in from the roof.

You can only incapacitate three enemies at a time in the beginning, but bumping this number to 4 and 5 via Waynetech upgrades makes later story missions much easier, especially when the opposition is armed (plus: a sequence of fear takedowns is guaranteed to succeed unless you fail to point the camera at the next guy). This maneuver is especially powerful if you're foiling Two-Faces bank robberies across Gotham, which must be completed before his troops make off with all the cash. With vault alarms drowning out the sounds of gunfire and punching, quickness is better than silence.

10. Abuse that Disruptor

arkham knight fast travel

Batman typically enters the scene from an elevated gargoyle perch, so you might as well use your bats eye view to cause some consternation. The Distruptor gadget returns in Arkham Knight with a wider variety of ways to induce malfunction in enemy weapons, so always consider using it before you swoop down and start flailing.

For instance, the Disruptor can disable enemy medics before you join the fight, thereby stopping them before they wake up thugs you've already knocked into next Tuesday. You can also set ammo crates to go haywire, giving you a KO'd enemy before they can bring a gun into the fight. In fact, if you booby-trap them and toss a batarang into the crowd from afar, they'll panic and get themselves electrocuted before you've even touched the ground. Now thats the classic Batman way.

11. Glide when you dont have to drive

Even if you love the Batmobile's wrecking ball approach to fast travel, gliding is still the preferred method of travel through Gotham. Though you can often save time by driving through sewers and other secret passageways, going up and over the city is more fun, liberating and - get this - informative.

Batman: Arkham Knights storytelling tricks include the clever use of audio cues, some of which you simply wont hear over the growling of the Batmobile's engines. As you swoop through the city, you'll hear signals of nearby side quests, some of which wont even be available on the mission menu yet. In between the light patter of rain you'll hear a ghastly screech, wafting opera music and even the obnoxious beep of a roadside mine - all little distractions that lead to something more. If you're playing Arkham Knight this way, you're doing it right.

Gotham Knights has the biggest open world version of Gotham City in a video game to date. In Arkham Knight players got to experience Gotham in a true open world setting for the first time, Gotham Knights version of the city dwarfs Arkham Knight quite significantly.

Related: Gotham Knights: What's the Max Level?

Split into 5 distinct boroughs, Gotham City in Gotham Knights is a character in its own right. From the beginning of the game the whole city is available to explore and there are no locked areas often found in other open world games.

Travel Methods

Traveling around in Gotham is done via one of a few ways. The bat cycle is the most used and is introduced early on in the game, similar to the tank-like batmobile of Arkham Knight , the bat cycle has customizable colors and model via DLC and in-game unlocks.

Next up the second most used method of traversal when players are a bit closer to their objective is the bat grapple. Again similar to Arkham games, the bay grapple will take the player from ground level to sitting among the gargoyles in a few seconds. This method of traveling around can be combined with the third method to make skipping above the lamp posts and rooftops much quicker.

Thirdly, players can unlock Heroic Travel. This varies for each character and can be unlocked upon completion of the Knighthood challenges for each of the four playable characters . For Dick/Nightwing a Fortnite-like glider named the flying trapeze is given and acts just like a Fortnite glider. Jason Todd/Red Hood has a mystical leap ability stemming from his Lazarus pit resurrection, this mysterious new power allows Jason to bound across thin air using magic.

Barbara/Batgirl receives a cape upgrade, allowing her to glide like Batman across Gotham, while Tim/Robin receives teleporting tech from the justice leak to move around distances above ground. All together the bat cycle, grapple and heroic travel make moving across Gotham quick and easy, but the city is massive and even with these moves, traveling can take quite a while.

From the offset fast travel is available, but only to return to the Belfry. Players will need to use heroic travel to begin with after it is unlocked. Luckily Lucius Fox has a solution, after finishing a few patrols, players will receive an email asking them to go and meet with Fox. He will be shown as an icon on the map and upon reaching his location he will tell players about the drone network around the city. Completing these drone missions will enable fast travel across Gotham.

These drones will appear as circular icons with two downward arrows on them, and once in the area, players will need to scan the 2 or 3 drones requested to unlock that area for fast travel. Once all drone scans have been completed, fast travel will be unlocked across each area of Gotham making traveling during patrol much easier than before.

Gotham Knights is available on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.

Batman: Arkham Knight walkthrough and guide

Our complete walkthrough for Batman: Arkham Knight, along with collectible and gameplay guides to help you get the most out of the game.

Six years after it all began in the claustrophobic confines of Arkham Asylum, Rocksteady sees out its Batman storyline with Arkham Knight - an expansive, rich open world adventure that sees the story out with the finest flourish. The Batmobile's along for the ride for the first time, and so is the kind of shininess we associate with the new generation of consoles, but more importantly Batman's back in all his bruising, brutal glory.

Our guide for the game begins with a complete walkthrough for the main story. It goes without saying that there'll be absolutely shedloads of spoilers sprinkled amongst this guide, so we've broken it down into as many discrete chunks as possible, so you can dip in and get only what you want from it.

We'll also be fleshing out this guide with plenty of other useful bits of information over the coming days as well, from completing specific challenges, to tracking down hard-to-reach collectible items as you explore the world.

Batman: Arkham Knight walkthrough

Once you've tapped a few buttons and said a fiery goodbye to an old foe, the game's faintly interactive opening cut-scene begins. As soon as you're back on your feet, make your way toward the cheeky blighter smoking a cigarette in the far booth by the window. Interact with him, then ready yourself for one hell of an opening to Batman's latest adventure.

Most Wanted: City of Fear

Primary Objective: Stop Scarecrow from detonating the Fear Toxin bomb

Meet Commissioner Gordon by the Bat-Signal on the GCPD rooftop

Eventually, you'll be reacquainted with the dark knight himself, high atop a radio tower overlooking Gotham City. Your first task is to locate Commissioner Gordon, currently waiting on a rooftop near the Bat Signal in the distance. Leap off the building and glide toward your destination, using the waypoint marker to guide you to your rendezvous point.

If you begin to lose momentum on your travels, don't forget that you can dive to the earth and pull back up to glide higher and faster. Of course, you've full access to your trusty Grapnel Boost too, enabling you to latch onto distant objects and zip through the air at ludicrous speeds.

Once you reach your destination, Gordon will fill you in on the current Scarecrow situation, pointing you in the direction of your next lead.

Rescue the missing police office

With the frankly overwhelming expanse of Gotham spread before you, it's time to start your hunt for Unit 247. Locate the waypoint marker then hop down off your perch, gliding toward your new goal. On your arrival, follow the prompts and begin picking off the swarm of goons surrounding the police officer using a selection of strikes and counters. Once the last enemy has been felled, interact with Unit 247 to proceed.

Next, follow the on-screen prompt to even the odds in just about the flashiest way imaginable. When you're safely ensconced in the Batmobile, hit accelerate and start your journey through the streets, taking time to familiarise yourself with the car's controls.

Interrogate the driver of the military vehicle for information on Scarecrow

Once you're up to (eye watering) speed, track down the armoured truck by following the moving waypoint marker through the city. You can also use the convenient guide arrows on the ground to navigate the streets more efficiently. Roar along the rain-slicked roads until you've caught up with the military vehicle.

Once you're close enough to your target, the Batmobile's weapons targeting system automatically begins locking on. Fire a missile when prompted to dish out some considerable damage, then adjust your position, ready to lock on again. When you've got the truck in your sights a second time, launch another strike. Repeat the process until the van comes to a dramatic stop.

Finally, exit the Batmobile, locate the driver lying on the ground near his decimated van, then begin the interrogation.

Investigate the Scarecrow's safe house

Once the vial of Scarecrow's toxin is yours, summon the Batmobile again and hop inside. Follow the waypoint marker until you reach your destination, then disembark.

Scarecrow's safe house lies in the penthouse atop the nearby Tanaga Dojo building. Grapple your way up the side until you reach its ornate peak. Climb to the very top and locate the ceiling window leading down into the building. Glide kick your way in, then take care of the thugs below.

Say hello to Poison Ivy then, back out in the rain, prepare to bring down the gathering militia with a bit of high tech ingenuity. Follow the on-screen prompts to bring up your quick menu and activate the Batmobile Remote.

Destroy the incoming drone tanks

Six unmanned tanks are marauding through Gotham's streets towards your position and you'll need to deal with them quickly. Activate Battle Mode as instructed, then make use of the Batmobile's onboard Vulcan Gun and 60mm Cannon. Familiarise yourself with the mode's controls then, once the tanks make their presence known, start picking them off one by one.

As you do, you'll notice thin blue lines emanating from your opponents' gun turrets - these denote the drone's targeting system. Stray into a line and it turns red; stay there too long and the tank will successfully lock on to your position and fire.

Given that the Batmobile's armour only offers a limited amount of protection, you should aim to keep moving during the fight to prevent your enemies from successfully locking on.

Once you've obliterated all six drones, head toward the waypoint marker and park your vehicle on top of the glowing square on the ground. To complete the sequence, deactivate Battle Mode so that Batman and Poison Ivy can safely climb onboard.

Run Battle Mode weapon energy system diagnostics

Back in the driving seat, follow the waypoint marker until you reach the glowing green icon ahead. Come to a halt close by and begin the Weapon Energy Diagnostics training challenge.

Training Mission: Weapon Energy Diagnostics

Here, your task is to charge your secondary weapon's energy gauge by destroying the enemy targets. Once the gauge is full, you're able to activate the Batmobile's Missile Barrage ability.

For the first part of your training, all targets are completely stationary. Activate Battle Mode and use your primary and secondary weapons to take them out one by one until your Missile Barrage Level 1 is ready. To bring the objective to a close, launch your Missile Barrage at a nearby vehicle.

Next, you need to reach Missile Barrage Level 2, enabling you to target up to four vehicles at once. As before, take down the still-stationary targets until both Missile Barrage gauges are full. Finally, follow the on-screen prompts to destroy four vehicles simultaneously.

The third part of the challenge is designed to illustrate how your Missile Barrage gauge depletes whenever you take damage. This time around, your targets are much more spritely - avoid their incoming attacks and return fire of your own. When your Missile Barrage is charged, deploy it to successfully destroy four active targets and end the mission, earning you your first upgrade point.

Destroy the squadron of drone tanks occupying the Panessa Studios

With training over, it's time to put your new-found firing skills to good use, taking out the deadly drone tanks swarming the Panessa Studios a short distance away. Slam the accelerator and head in the direction of the waypoint marker. The route ahead is full of sharp turns, so now is as good a time as any to practice your power-sliding skills.

When you reach your destination, activate Battle Mode and begin laying waste to the horde of drone tanks rampaging around the area. Remember to keep an eye out for the enemy's lock-on attacks and strafe to avoid them. Don't forget, too, that you can bring down multiple targets at once as soon as your Missile Barrage is charged.

Take Ivy to the GCPD Lockup

With the streets a little safer, you're ready to drop Ivy off with the good old Gotham City Police Department. Follow the waypoint marker back through the city and drive through the gate once you arrive at your destination. On the other side, follow the tunnel down to the parking lot and disembark to proceed.

Once Ivy is safely locked away, take a few moments to explore the police station (and its impressive Evidence Archive) and listen in to the various conversations going on around you. When you're ready to continue, approach Commissioner Gordon at the Maximum Security desk to get a status update on Gotham's Scarecrow problem.

As soon as the cut-scene is over, you'll gain access to the mission select screen. Bring it up to examine the missions currently available to you: The Line of Duty (requiring you to track down the missing members of the Station 17 fire crew), The Perfect Crime, Riddler's Revenge and City of Fear. Note that selecting a mission sets the relevant waypoint for you to follow back outside.

Before continuing on with the main story, it's worth tackling the first part of Riddler's Revenge mission. Set a waypoint marker as instructed, then, once out of the menu, pass between the security gates and make your way through the door into the cells.

You can speak to Jack Ryder in the interview room to the left if you wish, adding his bio info to your Wayne Tech menu. Speaking of which, consider taking a moment to familiarise yourself with the menu screen if you haven't already - it contains your map, the Batcomputer character bio and Gotham City Stories screen, as well as the Wayne Tech upgrade tree, enabling you to spend upgrade points on improving your abilities, gadgets, weapons, Batsuit and Batmobile.

Once you're ready to proceed, work your way along the corridor past the holding cells and out into the parking lot. Hop into the Batmobile (prompting Lucius Fox to bring the frankly ludicrous afterburner function online), then prepare to hunt down the Riddler at his last known location.

- The next part of our walkthrough explains how to complete the Riddler's Revenge mission.

The Batwing in Arkham Asylum.

The Batwing is Batman's personal aircraft. He sometimes traveled in it as an alternative to the Batmobile , and it could also be controlled remotely to deliver items. An example of that was when Batman summoned the Batwing to deliver the Line Launcher in Batman: Arkham Asylum , the Batsuit and the upgraded Grapnel Gun in Batman: Arkham City , the cure to stop Copperhead 's poison in Batman: Arkham Origins , and the XE Suit in Cold, Cold Heart . While the Batwing was redesigned in each of the games, all the versions shared the same capabilities, with those being the following:

  • Supersonic flight (above the maximum speeds of real jet fighters)
  • Advanced stealth systems (making the planes invisible to radar)
  • Advanced sensor systems
  • Remote controled and autonomous flight
  • High maneuverability in low or high altitudes
  • Quick deployment of equipment
  • Quick ejection and re-entry of pilot
  • VTOL and STOVL capabilities.

  • 3 Cold, Cold Heart Incident
  • 4 Between Arkham Origins and Arkham Asylum Incident
  • 5 Arkham City Incident
  • 6 Arkham Knight Incident
  • 7 Kill the Justice League Incident

Before Arkham Origins Incident [ ]

Taking advantage of the resources of WayneTech 's various divisions, notably Wayne Aerospace, Bruce Wayne was able to modify a prototype stealth aircraft for use in his crime-fighting career as Batman.

Arkham Origins Incident [ ]

The Batwing had preprogrammed flight plans to fly to certain destinations. Alfred setup different points around Gotham City so that Batman could use them to get around with more ease.

The Batwing was available as a form of Fast Travel for Batman to use. Enigma's (later known as The Riddler ) jamming towers needed to be disabled in order for Batman to summon and use the Batwing at specific points in Gotham.

Batman also used the Batwing to distract Firefly on the Gotham Pioneers Bridge so that he could approach the bridge, defuse the bombs, and rescue the hostages.

Cold, Cold Heart Incident [ ]

Batman used the Batwing to go after Mr. Freeze after he captured Ferris Boyle at Wayne Manor on New Year's Eve, and it was used to drop off the XE Suit on top of My Alibi . The Batwing had the same design from Arkham Origins.

Between Arkham Origins and Arkham Asylum Incident [ ]

Batman redesigned the Batwing to be able to fly in smaller areas.

The Batwing was seen in the Batcave , delivered the Line Launcher, and was used as a substitute Batmobile for Batman to get off of Arkham Island at the end of the game to stop Two-Face from robbing the Second National Bank in Gotham.

Arkham City Incident [ ]

The Batwing was used again to deliver the Batsuit and the upgraded Grapnel Gun in Arkham City . The Batwing was also redesigned for the game, as it could also be seen in the Batcave Predator Challenge Map .

Arkham Knight Incident [ ]

The Batwing helped upgrade the Batmobile with the Power Winch, the Drone Virus, or the Weapons Generator Mark III. As in previous games, the Batwing once again delivered the Batsuit and upgraded Batman's gadgets. The Batwing was used to bring Killer Croc , Deacon Blackfire , and Scarecrow to the GCPD Lockup . It was also used to bring the Batmobile back to land after In From the Cold .

After Batman had Alfred prepare The Knightfall Protocol , the Batwing carried the Batmobile and the recently-unmasked Bruce Wayne back to Wayne Manor . Upon entering, Wayne Manor was rocked by a massive explosion, apparently killing Bruce and Alfred. The Batwing and Batmobile, however, remained apparently untouched by the explosion. As such, the fate of the Batwing following Bruce's supossed death is unknown.

Kill the Justice League Incident [ ]

The Batwing can be seen in the Batcave of Metropolis.

The Batwing in Arkham Asylum.

  • The Batwing had a newer design for the games: Batman: Arkham City  and Batman: Arkham Origins .
  • The Batwing's design that was used in  Arkham Origins was reused in the movie, Batman: Assault on Arkham . That was likely because Batman didn't see a need to redesign the Batwing given its performance and how advanced it was.
  • During Arkham Origins and Arkham Asylum , the Batwing had a jet-like appearance. Yet, in Arkham City, the Batwing looked more like a rotor craft. It was likely that Batman had redesigned the Batwing after the Arkham Asylum Incident to use more advanced technology and to be more versatile.
  • The Batwing's design in Arkham Knight was more like the Batwing in Arkham City , but was more advanced and had many more features. It dropped gadgets into the Batmobile and flew between buildings and very low to the ground.
