Caracas is situated amid some of the most stunning mountainscapes you will ever see. Keen hikers will love the various scenic trails through the hills and valleys. An unforgettable way to see the scenery of this part of Venezuela, though, is to take the Teleferico: a cable car that swings you high above the mountains and the rich vegetation of the forests. Back down in downtown, there are plenty of things for all kinds of travelers to do. Go to the Centro de Arte La Estancia and listen to some traditional Venezuelan music. The Centro de Arte Los Galpones is a brilliant place to view some beautiful contemporary art works and is a very peaceful environment. One of the key historical sites in the city is the Casa Natal & Museo Bolivar. Both of these honour Simon Bolivar, or ‘The Liberator’ (‘El Liberator’) who achieved Venezuelan independence from Spain. The house will show you where Bolivar was born, whilst the adjacent museum is perfect for learning more about the rich history of this part of Venezuela, and in particular its quest for independence.

The weather in Caracas is always lovely and warm, but to experience some real heat it’s best to visit in the summer month of August. The dry season falls between December and April, so this is another desirable time to travel. Be aware, though, that travel during school holidays is likely to be more expensive than if you visit Caracas during off-peak seasons. There are plenty of religious and secular festivals in Caracas, so it is a great idea to time your visit to coincide with one of them. For example, in the first week of May each year, the city is home to the ‘Cross of May’ festival or Velorio de la Cruz de Mayo: a religious observance where citizens pay their respects to the holy cross with music, ceremonies, and food afterwards.

Taxis are plentiful in Caracas, so you can hail one in the street whenever you need to get from A to B. Remember, though, that in this city the taxis do not have any meters, so it is best to agree on a price with the driver before you depart. It is usual to bargain with the driver, as it is customary for them to quote you an initial price far in excess of what they are willing to accept. Many travelers take advantage of specialised tour buses to explore the key sights of the city, whilst others find it more convenient to rent a car. There is also a metro system.

Venezuela Travel Advisory

Travel advisory july 17, 2023, venezuela - level 4: do not travel.

Reissued with obsolete COVID-19 page links removed.

Do not travel to Venezuela due to  crime , civil unrest, kidnapping , and the  arbitrary enforcement of local laws . Reconsider travel due to  wrongful detentions ,  terrorism , and  poor health infrastructure .

Country Summary:  On March 11, 2019, the U.S. Department of State announced the withdrawal of diplomatic personnel from U.S. Embassy Caracas. All consular services, routine and emergency, remain suspended until further notice. The U.S. government has limited ability to provide emergency services to U.S. citizens in Venezuela. U.S. citizens in Venezuela who require consular services should try to leave the country as soon as safely possible and contact a U.S. embassy or consulate in another country.

Violent crimes, such as homicide, armed robbery, kidnapping, and carjacking, are common.  Political rallies and demonstrations occur, often with little notice.  Demonstrations typically elicit a strong police and security force response that includes the use of tear gas, pepper spray, and rubber bullets against participants and occasionally devolve into looting and vandalism. Reports from the Independent International Fact-Finding Mission document human rights abuses attributed to the Maduro regime, including torture, extrajudicial killings, forced disappearances, and detentions without due process and/or fair trial guarantees or as a pretext for an illegitimate purpose. Shortages of gasoline, food, electricity, water, medicine, and medical supplies continue throughout much of Venezuela. The CDC issued a  Level 3 ‘Avoid Nonessential Travel’  notice on September 30, 2021, due to inadequate healthcare and the breakdown of the medical infrastructure in Venezuela.

The Department has determined that there is a risk of wrongful detention of U.S. nationals by the Maduro regime.

Regime-aligned security forces have detained U.S. citizens for long periods.  The Maduro regime does not notify the U.S. government of the detention of U.S. citizens and the U.S. government is not granted routine access to those U.S. citizens.

Colombian terrorist groups, such as the National Liberation Army (ELN), Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia – People’s Army (FARC-EP), and Segunda Marquetalia, operate in Venezuela’s border areas with Colombia, Brazil, and Guyana.

Due to risks to civil aviation operating within or in the vicinity of Venezuela, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) prohibiting all flight operations in the territory and airspace of Venezuela at altitudes below 26,000 feet. For more information, U.S. citizens should consult the  Federal Aviation Administration’s Prohibitions, Restrictions and Notices . Emergency medical evacuation flights between the United States and Venezuela may not be possible.

Read the  country information page  for additional information on travel to Venezuela.

If you decide to travel to Venezuela:

  • Ensure you have a valid Venezuelan visa. Visas are not available upon arrival.
  • Draft a will and designate appropriate insurance beneficiaries and/or power of attorney.
  • Develop a communication plan with family and/or your employer or host organization. Establish a “proof of life” protocol with your loved ones, so that if you are taken hostage, your loved ones know specific questions (and answers) to ask the hostage-takers to be sure that you are alive (and to rule out a hoax).
  • Have a contingency plan in place that does not rely on U.S. government assistance.
  • Keep travel documents up to date and easily accessible.
  • Avoid travel between cities, or between Simón Bolívar International Airport and Caracas at night.
  • Do not take unregulated taxis from Simón Bolívar International Airport and avoid ATMs in this area.

How to buy new edition tickets: dates and prices compared for 2024 concert tour.

When you buy through our links, Business Insider may earn an affiliate commission. Learn more

New Edition's Las Vegas residency is still going strong through 2024, though only a few tour dates remain. Luckily, the iconic music group has added additional tour dates and there are a few different ways to buy New Edition tickets.

New Edition began their residency at the Encore Theater in Las Vegas in February, with their stay ultimately being extended through November. After their original six shows, New Edition added two more legs for this year for a total of 10 more concert dates. Performing on their 2024 concert tour are group members Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, Johnny Gill, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ronnie DeVoe, who sing their classic hits like "Candy Girl," "Cool It Now," and "If It Isn't Love."

If you're still looking for how to buy tickets to New Edition's concerts, we've got you covered. Here's our breakdown of the R&B group's tour schedule, purchasing details, and ticket prices. You can also browse tickets and show specifics on StubHub and Vivid Seats at your leisure.

New Edition 2024 tour schedule

All six members of New Edition are returning for the remainder of the group's Las Vegas residency, which kicks off on July 3. It features seven shows from July 3 to July 13 in Las Vegas, with the third leg picking back up for three additional concert dates in October and November.

The group is also appearing at the Cincinnati Music Festival in July.

All concert times are listed in local time zones.

How to buy tickets for New Edition's 2024 concert tour

You can buy original tickets for New Edition's 2024 Las Vegas residency concert dates and music festival appearance on Ticketmaster. However, since the residency extension shows went on sale in March 2024, the quantity of remaining original tickets is limited.

Tickets can also be purchased from verified resale vendors like StubHub and Vivid Seats . You may have better luck with the variety of seating options and availability on resale sites compared to the original tickets still left.

It's also important to note that New Edition's shows at the Encore Theater in Las Vegas only permit concertgoers ages 18 and up — so be sure to bring your ID to get into the group's residency performances.

How much are New Edition's tickets?

Given the high demand for the group's remaining Las Vegas residency shows, tickets to see New Edition in 2024 are relatively expensive. Furthermore, ticket prices vary depending on each show's concert date and demand. Resale ticket prices are comparable to or cheaper than original ticket costs.

The cheapest original ticket prices on Ticketmaster begin at $175 for New Edition's Las Vegas shows on October 30 and November 1. The least expensive seats are generally in the left or right mezzanine. However, most other dates with remaining original tickets are a bit more costly, with the cheapest seats coming in at over $200.

On the other hand, original one-day Saturday tickets for New Edition's Cincinnati Music Festival performance start at only $65. This ticket also lets you see artists like Kem, Stokley, En Vogue, and Coco Jones. Check out the full line-up here .

The least expensive resale tickets available to New Edition's Las Vegas residency on StubHub start at $165 for the group's July 5 performance. Vivid Seats offers similar prices for resale tickets, as the cheapest available Las Vegas show passes begin at $165. However, both sites' base fares are slightly more expensive than the $65 original tickets for the Cincinnati Music Festival, as StubHub's begin at $72 while Vivid Seats' start at $73.

Who is opening for New Edition's tour?

New Edition does not have any opening acts for their tour. Once the showtime begins in Las Vegas, the R&B group will be the ones to come onstage.

Currently, New Edition has not announced any upcoming international tour dates for their 2024 concert series.

Explained: Champions League final tickets – who gets them and how much do they cost?

Explained: Champions League final tickets – who gets them and how much do they cost?

Real Madrid will play Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final at Wembley on June 1.

This will be Dortmund’s first Champions League final since 2013, when they lost to Bayern Munich in the decider, which was also staged at Wembley. The German club’s only success in the competition came when they defeated Juventus in the 1997 final.

Real Madrid are hopeful of being crowned champions of Europe for a 15th time, and securing their sixth title in the last decade, having won the 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2022 editions of the tournament.

Focus is now on this year’s final, with tickets set to be in high demand.

How many tickets are available?

Wembley Stadium has a capacity of 90,000 but UEFA, European football’s governing body who are in charge of the Champions League final, will be distributing 86,600 tickets.

As is often the case with finals, the tickets are going to be split between clubs, the general public and commercial partners.

How are they distributed between Dortmund and Real Madrid?

60,000 of those tickets will be distributed to fans and the general public to purchase. Both Dortmund and Real Madrid supporters will receive 25,000 tickets each, while the remaining tickets have been offered for sale to fans worldwide via a ballot.

Dortmund season ticket holders and adult club members whose membership commenced before January 1, 2024 are able to purchase a maximum of two tickets each.

Real Madrid are yet to release details on how they plan on distributing their allocation.

Dortmund's previous Champions League final was also at Wembley, in 2013 (Chris Brunskill Ltd/Getty Images)

What happens to the remaining tickets?

With 60,000 tickets distributed to fans and the general public, 26,600 tickets are not available to the public.

UEFA has described this allocation as going to “the local organising structure, UEFA’s member national associations, commercial partners, broadcasters and UEFA.”

What will the tickets cost?

UEFA operates a system of categories, whereby tickets in different areas of the stadium cost different amounts.

The ‘Fans First’ category is designated to those who are supporters of the two teams. These are priced at £60 each. There is a significant price jump to ‘Category 3’ which is priced at £160, while ‘Category 2’ tickets are more than double that of the section below, costing £430. The most expensive tickets, meanwhile, are ‘Category 1’ tickets, and these mount to £610.

If supporters are unsuccessful in the general sale, there is a high chance that tickets will become available via third-party websites. These, however, will cost a lot more than face value, with prices expected to run into the thousands.

Accessibility tickets for disabled spectators cost £60. All tickets are priced at the ‘Fans First’ rate and come with one complimentary companion ticket.

It is not made clear by UEFA what proportion of the tickets are at which of the price points.

How much is travel to London likely to cost?

At the time of writing, for Dortmund supporters the cheapest way to travel to London would cost £246 for a return flight from May 31 to June 2, and this would get you from Dortmund Airport to London Luton. However, the overall flight time would take five hours due to a stop-off at Gdansk Airport, Poland.

There are also four flights on May 31 from the city of Cologne, which is just over an hour from Dortmund on the train. The price of these flights range from £156 to £287, while there are two flights back from London to Cologne on June 2, but these are priced at £400 and £405.

Cologne also provides a Eurostar train link to London St. Pancras train station, with prices on May 31 starting at £226, although there are no return tickets available on June 2 with prices on June 3 starting at £218.

For fans of Real Madrid, the cheapest direct flight from Madrid to London on May 31 is £279. However, a ticket can be bought at £169 that would take over nine hours due to a stop-off at Oslo Airport, Norway.

The cheapest direct flight from London to Madrid on June 2 is £339, although there are multiple non-direct options to return to the Spanish capital for prices starting at £81.

There are also alternative flights from Barcelona, Valencia and Seville that travel directly to London on these dates.

Top 4 airlines serving from Venezuela to the United States

Captain and Crew were excellent. The Boeing 737-800 was showing its age. In flight entertainment system was sluggish and my Business Class seat on the outbound flight had some mechanical issues. Only real problem was the location of the Gate in Panama PTY. It was a 40 minute hike from Security to the Gate. There should have been some sort of warning about the distance.

landed in panama it was in terminal one. We had to take a bus to terminal two for customs. Then back to terminal one. It was very frustrating. Then, on the way back from panama it was the same situation. We had to go back and forth between terminals to check in and drop our bags and then to board. When we were leaving, we had to wait in line for the boarding area and go through another gate security process. They told the bottles of water and coffee were bought while in line in the airport after we passed the main security. Ridiculous (and expensive). A much better communication system is needed.

This was my first time flying Copa but I'll definitely be back! Great service, professional agents, and delicious food for a fair price. Thanks for a great trip!

Horrible experience from start to end. Copa costumer service is non existent. They treat you bad. Everybody tells you different information. We didn’t received our luggage in the 1 day stop we did even we they said if was not going to be a problem. They didn’t respect the seats that we had and spread our family leaving in between of two big people who didn’t leave any space for me and crush me from side to side. I’ll never recommend Copa to anybody.

No cumpli mencionado trayecto por reasignacion de Copa Pero extraviaron mis maletas por su culpa

I was fortunate enough to have an entire row to myself and that was the highlight. Unfortunately, the flight was really turbulent which had no impact on how effective the crew was. However, I am disabled and should have boarded the flight first, but that wasn't the case. They also decided to take my bag at the gate because I had one too many and upon my picking it up at JFK it along with my rollator had been damaged. I am a vegan so the didn't have a proper meal for me and I was unable to view the entertainment because I didn't receive a set of headphones and if I needed to supply my own I wasn't made aware of that either. The crew was great, but overall everything was pretty lackluster.

Very BAD crew service They ignore at all any call for service . Very rude from the check in process to all the tripularion members in the fight .

Extremely efficient and incredibly friendly staff. Very organized to board and to de-plane. They were all very attentive during the flight.

The flight, the staff and the airplane were all fantastic. I highly recommend.

Boarding, crew and flight were very smooth and efficient. It was a bit difficult to understand the announcements on board, but it is a minor thing. What was quite bad was the very long time it took to retrieve the luggage at the Frankfurt airport.

Terrible app. Working off paper stickies for seat reservations doesn’t work anymore.

Impossible to check in via the App. Kept on getting emails offering upgrade. When followed through not available. Wasn't any food anyway.

Place above head to place the rucksack in is smaller than in other planes, so it needed to be located under the front seat.

Great experience, I just wish airline seats were more comfortable in general.

Onboarding process and crew was excellent and efficient, Information display was great. Keep on the good work and same standard. Nothing to change.

Totally unprofessional crew, lack of empathy and disrespectful responses. Flight got delayed for Mechanical issue for 3 hours got on the runway then back, then disembarked and just waiting with no one explaining anything and missed my connecting due to that.. the crew total lack of professionalism is totally unseen anywhere.

Never again! Each flight to and from DR was delayed over 24 hours.! 😡

No priority boarding (travelling with a toddler) and the flight was 4 hours late.

Their online check-in system was offline so the lines at the counter were extremely long. Making our connection was also very unpleasant as there were no priorities for boarding (basically a free-for-all) and since I was travelling with my toddler we had a very hard time. The connecting flight was also 4 hours late.

We were charged an additional $54 usd per passenger to board, not mentioned in the ticket.
