We went to the Sunday breakfast buffet. When we started dishing up food we soon realised that half of the selection of food was finished. After speaking to the manager, we were told that breakfast time was almost over and that they would not be... cooking more food. We felt ripped off! However, the adjacent nursery is remarkable. More

I visited the restaurant at the venue for breakfast. It is a stunning venue with lots of waterfalls all around. However, the service at the restaurant is poor. Firstly, my order was messed up, not serving what I ordered. Then the waitron (Precious is her... name) dumped a "Reserved" sign on the table and told us she needed the table in 15 minutes time. This is extremely rude and spoilt everything for us. Although it was brought to the attention of her management I am not holding my breath that she will be reprimanded to rectify her behaviour. Patrons who do not want to be humiliated should avoid the restaurant. The food was not special at all. The drive out to Pretoria from Johannesburg to eat at this restaurant is certainly not worth the effort. More

One of my first experiences at the restaurant was not all that nice. However, I believe in second chances and we came for breakfast again today. What a disappointment from the get go till we left. My juice came in a sticky glass which the... waitron failed to notice even though she brought it by hand. My husband order a medium egg but received a very under cooked egg (the white was still runny). My toast was cold and extremely dry. The food overall is nothing special. When settling our bill, the waitron claimed a tip for herself despite my husband writing the same amount (with no tip) on the bill. I will definitely not be visiting the restaurant again. More

Waited 15+ minutes just to order drinks, even after asking a waitress and a manager for service. Waiter returned to confirm drinks order. Ordered starter, 2 mains and 2 kids pizzas. Mains came with wrong sauce, starter arrived long after mains had been eaten. Food... had no flavour and oily starter. Waited sooo long for bill and it was wrong. Nice environment, but stay away from the restaurant. More

The servuce very bad. I was not attended to when i arrived with my patner. I had to walk my self to a table.. The waiters took long to attend to us at the table. When the food arrived the waiter took long again to... bring us the condiments. The outdoor seating area has lots of flies and bees. My experience was very bad. More

We had a nice breakfast farewell party for friends this morning at Safari Garden Restaurant. Food was great, friendly waiter Ashley laid us a very creative table and manager very accommodating. All in all a great, tranquil ecperience with a nice view. Highly recommended.

Second time I've visited the garden centre. It's an amazing day out everytime. Beautiful plants and flowers, nice restaurant with wonderful full portion food, great cocktails if you have a designated driver. The whole experience is just lovely, and the walk through the centre is... magnificent. Would highly recommend for a day out, lunch and you can get your steps in🤣 More

Had a Vanilla Milkshake and a Nachos Starter and both were awful. The milkshake was on the verge of sour and the Nachos were tasteless. Hardly any cheese and just slapped together on the soup plate. Had also ordered apple pie - which they didn't... have. Then ordered Lemon Meringue Pie which they also didn't have,so the Nachos were supposed to be a happy consolation and it was a huge disappointment Our waiter Ashley was great though and tried really hard to keep us happy. Today I took a friend to Safari Garden Centre's restaurant. We enjoyed the breakfast and surroundings, felt completely relaxed, it was a beautiful day and the waterfall has an amazing effect on one's soul. The next moment the waitress, Precious, dumped a "Reserved" sign on... our table an told us we have to leave within 15 minutes!!! The table has been booked. What the hell??? She messed up a lovely morning!! I've always loved going there...I travel 58km from Johannesburg to Pretoria to go there for breakfast....honestly!!! We felt like criminals being chased away basically!!! I have to rethink me going there again...I feel sad...I really like this place but Precious messed it up for me!!! Such arrogance!!!..I did mention it to the manager and he said that that kind of behaviour is not allowed, he'll speak to her...but I still feel cheated...I've spent R1400 on breakfasts with friends there...just over the last 2 weeks...I need to do some serious thinking.... Ordered a toasted sandwich which was the worst I have ever had. Literally thrown together. Two chunks of bread toasted with no finesse whatsoever. Never again!! Don't waste your money!!

My sincere advice STAY AWAY!!! The food is terrible. I wish I had checked the TripAdvisor reviews and skipped the trip to the bathroom hugging the toilet. BAAARFFFF!!!!

Such a lovely settibg, such a let down. Its lovely to sit surrounded by all the plants but the atmosphere is spoilt by the bad food and service. It could be such a great place but the staff are untrained and extremely slow and get... the orders wrong. The food is really of a low standard. The chips tasted old and even as something as simple as a toasted cheese and tomato was unappetising. The tomato used was definitely over the expiry date. Was really dissapointed. Would've given it one star but it is a lovely setting. More

We came to get some plants and have lunch. Plants are good quality but the looks of things and very pricey. We ordered quiche for R77 which was about the size of a tea saucer and about as thick as one of the french fries... on the plate, the pastry looked old and undercooked but the topping was overdone and dry...the coleslaw was fresh and tasty and the french fries a bit oily... We wont be back... More

Pretoria on Sunday. Up early to watch my godson play ice hockey at the Grove Mall. We agreed to celebrate the team win with a hearty breakfast at Safari Garden Centre. The place caught my eye when I drove past it, on the way to the ice rink. When I entered it, I was quite charmed. Lovely gardens, amazing water features, plants, animals (don’t feed the parrot). And of course gardening goodies. Food at the restaurant was also good. Had a delicious slap up break fast. Not a gourmet meal. But more than enough to satisfy a hungry ice hockey player. The slightly sleep deprived god parent, who had to wake up very early, to see the match, would have appreciated a stronger coffee. All round a great place to visit.

Beautiful nursery. Poorest service I've ever had at a nursery. Come here if you don't expect much.

Phoned ahead and spoke to Frederick. His help was great. He held seeds for us that we asked about and when we arrived, whilst there was a flower show of sorts on, promptly helped us and got us sorted. Lovely place to go to for personal service in spite of its size.

This is a place for family break away. Big verity of plants, pots and everything you need in your garden. The kiddies like it to be here.

If you are there for plants and accessories you are in the right place with, a wide selection, good prices and helpful staff. The restaurant on the other hand is underwhelming, staff are friendly but the food is so so and the prices don't match the quality.

Loved the orchid exhibition, but unfortunately only a few left to purchase. Lovely garden centre and setting. The restaurant's food was not great at all. Service was poo. Food was dry and cold. Ambiance of the nursery itself absolutely tranquil.

What a pleasure! I had my birthday lunch at Safari for 26 guests, and from the booking right through to the day, the staff were exceptionally helpful. They even accommodated my husband who couldn't sit due to a back operation with a comfortable chair to lie down. A stunning setting with delicious food at competitive prices - we will be back!

I like this place. Here are animals for big and small to enjoy. Water falls. A large variety of plants & accessories.

One of my first experiences at the restaurant was not all that nice. However, I believe in second chances and we came for breakfast again today. What a disappointment from the get go till we left. My juice came in a sticky glass which the waitron failed to notice even though she brought it by hand. My husband order a medium egg but received a very under cooked egg (the white was still runny). My toast was cold and extremely dry. The food overall is nothing special. When settling our bill, the waitron claimed a tip for herself despite my husband writing the same amount (with no tip) on the bill. I will definitely not be visiting the restaurant again.

Disappointing service at the resturant, however.the food is okay, it used to be amazing but the standards have dropped alittle. Pleeeeease provide training to your staff. 3 stars for the general place and average food

Beautiful place but the restaurant food is not good quality, I have been here 3 times and on all occasions the food is cold, my hot drinks are cold as-well. Not nice food here. I’m very disappointed.

Wonderful place in a natural environment wich is inviting, amazing and giving a lot of mental relaxation. There are all garden and hour environmental needs you may wish to buy. Excellent conference and chapel facilities. Beautiful inside small waterfalls. All facilities are gorgeous. Thank you.

Safari Garden Centre was established in 1994, and since then, has become a multi-award winning garden centre. Safari Garden Centre is not merely a stop to purchase plants and garden accessories. Safari Garden Centre is nestled against the Bronberg Ridge, and features, amongst others, a series of bridges, lakes and waterfalls, where exotic waterfowl and giant koi are a feast for the eye. Safari Garden Centre also hosts many garden shows.

Safari Garden Centre is the perfect location for small weddings, corporate meals, or just a delicious breakfast for lunch. Children are more than welcome, with their own special play area with a sand pit and jungle gym. Small farm animals are housed in the secure environment of the kiddies area. Entrance to the play area is free, with pony rides occasionally available. The Safari Fun Train is very popular with the kids.

The marketing overview of Safari Garden Centre makes it sound like a little piece of heaven on earth... And it truly is! Wether you are interested in purchasing plants, or simply want to run away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Safari Garden Centre is the perfect getaway.

Tired of the city and in serious need of a hug from nature, we decided to give Safari Garden Centre a visit. And what a relaxing day it turned out to be. We literally got lost for hours looking at the massive array of plants on display. The little meandering pathways took us from flowers to ferns, conifers to succulents, big plants to little baby plants.

Just when you think there can't be more, Safari Garden Centre amazes you again. The lakes and waterfalls are magnificent, with the giant koi gleaming in the sun.

We really did not plan on purchasing anything, but alas, the plants were so inviting, we simply could not resist. And at the affordable prices offered by Safari Garden Centre , we did not even have to break the budget.

After walking around for hours, we decided that it was time for a nice lunch and something to drink. I can really recommend the restaurant. The food was of excellent quality, and the staff friendly and fast.

Although I do not have children of my own, I can really imagine the kiddies absolutely loving the kiddies area. The jungle gym looked like so much fun, I almost climbed onto it myself :)

So, do yourself a favour. Take the family, and get lost in the garden paradise that is Safari Garden Centre .

We went to the Sunday breakfast buffet. When we started dishing up food we soon realised that half of the selection of food was finished. After speaking to the manager, we were told that breakfast time was almost over and that they would not be... cooking more food. We felt ripped off! However, the adjacent nursery is remarkable. More

I visited the restaurant at the venue for breakfast. It is a stunning venue with lots of waterfalls all around. However, the service at the restaurant is poor. Firstly, my order was messed up, not serving what I ordered. Then the waitron (Precious is her... name) dumped a "Reserved" sign on the table and told us she needed the table in 15 minutes time. This is extremely rude and spoilt everything for us. Although it was brought to the attention of her management I am not holding my breath that she will be reprimanded to rectify her behaviour. Patrons who do not want to be humiliated should avoid the restaurant. The food was not special at all. The drive out to Pretoria from Johannesburg to eat at this restaurant is certainly not worth the effort. More

Waited 15+ minutes just to order drinks, even after asking a waitress and a manager for service. Waiter returned to confirm drinks order. Ordered starter, 2 mains and 2 kids pizzas. Mains came with wrong sauce, starter arrived long after mains had been eaten. Food... had no flavour and oily starter. Waited sooo long for bill and it was wrong. Nice environment, but stay away from the restaurant. More

The servuce very bad. I was not attended to when i arrived with my patner. I had to walk my self to a table.. The waiters took long to attend to us at the table. We had a nice breakfast farewell party for friends this morning at Safari Garden Restaurant. Food was great, friendly waiter Ashley laid us a very creative table and manager very accommodating. All in all a great, tranquil ecperience with a nice view. Highly recommended.

Second time I've visited the garden centre. It's an amazing day out everytime. Beautiful plants and flowers, nice restaurant with wonderful full portion food, great cocktails if you have a designated driver. The whole experience is just lovely, and the walk through the centre is... magnificent. Would highly recommend for a day out, lunch and you can get your steps in🤣 More

Had a Vanilla Milkshake and a Nachos Starter and both were awful. The milkshake was on the verge of sour and the Nachos were tasteless. Hardly any cheese and just slapped together on the soup plate. Had also ordered apple pie - which they didn't... have. Then ordered Lemon Meringue Pie which they also didn't have,so the Nachos were supposed to be a happy consolation and it was a huge disappointment Our waiter Ashley was great though and tried really hard to keep us happy. Today I took a friend to Safari Garden Centre's restaurant. We enjoyed the breakfast and surroundings, felt completely relaxed, it was a beautiful day and the waterfall has an amazing effect on one's soul. The next moment the waitress, Precious, dumped a "Reserved" sign on... our table an told us we have to leave within 15 minutes!!! The table has been booked. What the hell??? She messed up a lovely morning!! I've always loved going there...I travel 58km from Johannesburg to Pretoria to go there for breakfast....honestly!!! We felt like criminals being chased away basically!!! I have to rethink me going there again...I feel sad...I really like this place but Precious messed it up for me!!! Such arrogance!!!..I did mention it to the manager and he said that that kind of behaviour is not allowed, he'll speak to her...but I still feel cheated...I've spent R1400 on breakfasts with friends there...just over the last 2 weeks...I need to do some serious thinking.... Ordered a toasted sandwich which was the worst I have ever had. Literally thrown together. Two chunks of bread toasted with no finesse whatsoever. Never again!! Don't waste your money!!

My sincere advice STAY AWAY!!! The food is terrible. I wish I had checked the TripAdvisor reviews and skipped the trip to the bathroom hugging the toilet. BAAARFFFF!!!!

Such a lovely settibg, such a let down. Its lovely to sit surrounded by all the plants but the atmosphere is spoilt by the bad food and service. It could be such a great place but the staff are untrained and extremely slow and get... the orders wrong. The food is really of a low standard. The chips tasted old and even as something as simple as a toasted cheese and tomato was unappetising. The tomato used was definitely over the expiry date. Was really dissapointed. We came to get some plants and have lunch. Plants are good quality but the looks of things and very pricey. We ordered quiche for R77 which was about the size of a tea saucer and about as thick as one of the french fries... on the plate, the pastry looked old and undercooked but the topping was overdone and dry...the coleslaw was fresh and tasty and the french fries a bit oily... We wont be back... More

I visited the restaurant at the venue for breakfast. It is a stunning venue with lots of waterfalls all around. However, the service at the restaurant is poor. Firstly, my order was messed up, not serving what I ordered. Then the waitron (Precious is her... name) dumped a "Reserved" sign on the table and told us she needed the table in 15 minutes time. This is extremely rude and spoilt everything for us. Although it was brought to the attention of her management I am not holding my breath that she will be reprimanded to rectify her behaviour. Patrons who do not want to be humiliated should avoid the restaurant. The food was not special at all. The drive out to Pretoria from Johannesburg to eat at this restaurant is certainly not worth the effort. More

One of my first experiences at the restaurant was not all that nice. However, I believe in second chances and we came for breakfast again today. What a disappointment from the get go till we left. My juice came in a sticky glass which the... waitron failed to notice even though she brought it by hand. My husband order a medium egg but received a very under cooked egg (the white was still runny). My toast was cold and extremely dry. The food overall is nothing special. When settling our bill, the waitron claimed a tip for herself despite my husband writing the same amount (with no tip) on the bill. I will definitely not be visiting the restaurant again. More

Waited 15+ minutes just to order drinks, even after asking a waitress and a manager for service. Waiter returned to confirm drinks order. Ordered starter, 2 mains and 2 kids pizzas. Mains came with wrong sauce, starter arrived long after mains had been eaten. Food... had no flavour and oily starter. Waited sooo long for bill and it was wrong. Nice environment, but stay away from the restaurant. More

The servuce very bad. I was not attended to when i arrived with my patner. I had to walk my self to a table.. The waiters took long to attend to us at the table. When the food arrived the waiter took long again to... bring us the condiments. The outdoor seating area has lots of flies and bees. My experience was very bad. More

We had a nice breakfast farewell party for friends this morning at Safari Garden Restaurant. Food was great, friendly waiter Ashley laid us a very creative table and manager very accommodating. All in all a great, tranquil ecperience with a nice view. Highly recommended.

Second time I've visited the garden centre. It's an amazing day out everytime. Beautiful plants and flowers, nice restaurant with wonderful full portion food, great cocktails if you have a designated driver. The whole experience is just lovely, and the walk through the centre is... magnificent. Would highly recommend for a day out, lunch and you can get your steps in🤣 More

Had a Vanilla Milkshake and a Nachos Starter and both were awful. The milkshake was on the verge of sour and the Nachos were tasteless. Hardly any cheese and just slapped together on the soup plate. Had also ordered apple pie - which they didn't... have. Then ordered Lemon Meringue Pie which they also didn't have,so the Nachos were supposed to be a happy consolation and it was a huge disappointment Our waiter Ashley was great though and tried really hard to keep us happy. Today I took a friend to Safari Garden Centre's restaurant. We enjoyed the breakfast and surroundings, felt completely relaxed, it was a beautiful day and the waterfall has an amazing effect on one's soul. The next moment the waitress, Precious, dumped a "Reserved" sign on... our table an told us we have to leave within 15 minutes!!! The table has been booked. What the hell??? She messed up a lovely morning!! I've always loved going there...I travel 58km from Johannesburg to Pretoria to go there for breakfast....honestly!!! We felt like criminals being chased away basically!!! I have to rethink me going there again...I feel sad...I really like this place but Precious messed it up for me!!! Such arrogance!!!..I did mention it to the manager and he said that that kind of behaviour is not allowed, he'll speak to her...but I still feel cheated...I've spent R1400 on breakfasts with friends there...just over the last 2 weeks...I need to do some serious thinking.... Ordered a toasted sandwich which was the worst I have ever had. Literally thrown together. Two chunks of bread toasted with no finesse whatsoever. Never again!! Don't waste your money!!

My sincere advice STAY AWAY!!! The food is terrible. I wish I had checked the TripAdvisor reviews and skipped the trip to the bathroom hugging the toilet. BAAARFFFF!!!!

Such a lovely settibg, such a let down. Its lovely to sit surrounded by all the plants but the atmosphere is spoilt by the bad food and service. It could be such a great place but the staff are untrained and extremely slow and get... the orders wrong. The food is really of a low standard. The chips tasted old and even as something as simple as a toasted cheese and tomato was unappetising. The tomato used was definitely over the expiry date. Was really dissapointed. Would've given it one star but it is a lovely setting. More

We came to get some plants and have lunch. Plants are good quality but the looks of things and very pricey. We ordered quiche for R77 which was about the size of a tea saucer and about as thick as one of the french fries... on the plate, the pastry looked old and undercooked but the topping was overdone and dry...the coleslaw was fresh and tasty and the french fries a bit oily... We wont be back... More
