Sephora at Santa Clara Square is a convenient location to buy your necessities for your face, hair, and even body. I was not even aware this shop existed until few weeks ago when I ended up parking alot further down the street than what I typically park when I'm at the plaza. Their team of associates have always been extremely friendly and product savvy when I asked questions about fragrances, foundation, and mascara! This plaza is not a shopping mall, but a place in close vicinity to Whole Foods, Starbucks, a bunch of fancy restaurants, a bank, etc.... with a high end apartment complex.

This Sephora is located in a beautiful shopping plaza. The inside of the store is just as clean and organized. I came here over the weekend to purchase an item, so I made sure to call before arriving. The employee who assisted me on the phone was quick, efficient, and very helpful. This is probably my favorite Sephora in the area.

I visited this location because I was in the area and wanted to purchase a hair dryer brush I saw in a magazine. I checked online first to make sure they had it in stock and Iris greeted me at the entrance and helped me find it. I also needed a blush and because it is November, I found a great holiday set with 2 full size (NARS and a cream blush) and 2 travel size illuminators for $36! Such a steal! While paying, I saw they did eyebrow waxing so I called later that day to book an appointment. I went back a few days later and Melody (Maeve), the esthetician, took her time mapping and waxing/plucking my brows. She cleaned them up and made sure she did what I was looking for (more arch but thick). She was kind and talkative but not in a distracting way. I am really happy with how they turned out. Only thing is I wish it would have been quicker (new mom so time is always limited). Also. Parking is not great in this shopping center so park in the garage across the street!

Incorrect hours posted, online it says 8pm but they close at 7pm. Super inconvenient to drive 20 mins just for the store to be closed. Especially during the holidays please make sure to update your hours. Got here at 7:10 doors locked and employees just stared at me.

Probably one of the nicest Sephora's I've been to. Wish I lived closer or I would definitely be frequenting this location more often. Pros: +super nice staff, greeted immediately upon entering and all the staff i encountered were friendly and willing to answer questions +very well organized store and super clean Cons: -were out of stock of a few items i was looking for -smaller than other locations i've been to

I came her for an even exchange since the color foundation I had ordered was too dark. You would think the courteous thing to do would be to do an even exchange but they said since I used beauty insider cash, I'd have to pay the remaining balance. What's the point of points if I can't even do an even exchange? I worked retail for years and would've just made it an even exchange. And it's not like Sephora is hurting for money. I'll be going back and just returning it tomorrow.

Very disappointed never trusting anyone to match my color of foundation now I can't return the foundation. I called this morning and the lady said I can't return the foundation, will never be coming to this location again.

I'm so happy this location opened up. Although on the smaller side, they still carry all of the brands that I like and the staff working there is super nice. I had ordered the Dyson airwrap holiday set, which wasn't cheap. And then the following week Sephora sent me the VIB discount. Since the savings were significant, I decided to bring it in and do a return/rebuy. The girl at the counter was completely understanding and processed the transaction without giving me a hard time. She even threw in some samples for me. Because of that, I came back the week after and dropped some major dollars on perfume and skin care there. Keep the good work up!

I LOVE THIS SEPHORA. The employees are on top of their game: professionalism, attentiveness, and artistry. I had my makeup done here by Melody (Maeve) and knew full well I wanted to buy most of the products she used on me (however, she wasn't pushy about this nor did she push me to purchase anything and wanted to work with what I already had at home). Melody was so receptive when I told her I wanted to learn how to do the look I wanted and helped me not only match a new color for my skin tone, but she was so patient with the questions I had and notes I took as she did my makeup during our session. She had a great eye for working with my "features" and taught me so much within the hour I booked. She's also an esthetician so gave me great tips about skin prep. I also want to add how during our session that other employees were stopping by and giving so many compliments to her skills and the makeup look - it felt good to be around such supportive energy and I don't even work there! Let's just say I got a lot of "looks" that day because my makeup looked so good. I also use the products I bought quite often and have gotten so many compliments on the look I have *tried* to emulate from what Melody taught me.

I went in yesterday, the first time in a Sephora for myself, to get some concealer for a face scar I got from diving into a pool while drinking, so I don't go to work looking like I'm in a fight club all week. The ladies were super helpful. They helped me "tone match" my face to the right shade, showed me how to apply it, taught me what a "beauty blender" is, and all. Best part is while in there I found out they sell my favorite Versace cologne (plus some others I've been wanting to try like Dior Sauvage), saving me a trip to Valley Fair when I want to smell better, plus for cheaper than the Versace store. Huge plus - I'll be back for sure now, and not just when I look like I got the shit kicked out of me!

They sell men's cologne! Game changer!

Parts of an Umbrella

Umbrellas have been used for centuries and have been improved upon throughout history. Today, using modern and old technology, we have the modern open - close umbrella to protect us from the rain. Modern umbrellas have many parts that make umbrellas convenient and useful in inclement weather. Depending on the design of an umbrella , it can have a lot of details to the mechanics of it. Here are the design aspect of a modern day umbrella from the bottom up.

Handle: The handle of an umbrella makes it easy and convenient to carry and hold onto in wet conditions. here are two main types of handles. First there is a crook handle, which is shaped like a hook, also known as a hook handle. The hook handle of the umbrella was designed to not only grip the umbrella handle in the rain, but also to carry your umbrella on your arm so that you could be hands free. The hook also allowed you to hang your umbrella to dry. You can still find many umbrellas with the hook handle, but many modern umbrellas now have a rubber handle. Rubber offers a durable yet comfortable handle when it is raining. Second type of handle is the straight handle. Often times modern, straight handle, umbrellas will have a nylon loop to carry your umbrella on your wrist for hands free comfort.

Tip cup: A tip cup is a lip above the handle of the umbrella. This is where the umbrella's canopy rests when it is closed so that it doesn't slide down past the tip cup. Sometimes the tip cup is actually part of the handle and sometimes it is a separate part.

Shaft: The shaft is a pole that makes up the body of the umbrella. The pole, or shaft, rises up from the handle and the tip cup. Inside of the shaft are tension springs that assist the umbrella in opening and closing.

Bottom spring: The bottom spring is the spring placed at the bottom part of the shaft (above the handle). The bottom springs allows the umbrella to open and close.

Center Spring (only on telescopics): The center spring allows the shaft of the umbrella to become shorter or longer and acts as a propel in the opening motion of the umbrella. Not all umbrellas are telescopic, therefore not all umbrellas will have a center spring.

Top Spring: The top spring is located up higher on the shaft, but bellow the runner when the umbrella is in its open position. The top spring allows the umbrella to open and close.

Runner: The runner is the part of the umbrella that slides up and down the tube or shaft of the umbrella when you open and close it. It is a T-shaped joint that allows the umbrella to collapse.

Tube: The tube is the space on the shaft between the runner and the top of the umbrella when the umbrella is in its open position.

Rib: The ribs run from the top notch to the seam of the canopy and support the canopy of the umbrella. The ribs are what give the canopy its bubble shape when the umbrella is open.

Stretcher: The stretcher is what stretches out the canopy when the umbrella is in its open position. The stretcher runs from the runner and connects to the canopy.

Top Notch: The top notch is at the top of the umbrella tube. The top notch connects the shaft to the canopy.

Open Cap: The open cap sits above the the canopy of the umbrella on the shaft and keeps the top of the canopy in its place and allows for tension of the canopy when the umbrella is open.

End: Above the open cap is the a pole called the end of the umbrella. The end of the umbrella is still part of the shaft.

Ferrule: The very tip or top of the umbrella, above the canopy, is the ferrule. Ferrules can be plain or decorative and can double as a walking stick or sometimes a weapon. However, keep in mind, most modern umbrellas are not designed as a cane, walking stick or a weapon.

Canopy: The canopy is the tent part of the umbrella that opens into an arc or dome shape and protects you from the rain.

I designed a miniature rose garden featuring repurposed glass bottles which I made into an arbor just in time for Valentines Day!

Don't ask me where I get my wild ideas, I just get them.

I have a collection of gorgeous liquor or "spirit" bottles that I picked up in an alley behind a bar in Sherman Oaks, California a couple of years ago.

It's been my intention to use these beautifully shaped bottles in my garden designs, and I finally used a couple of them.
