24 Gifts for the Friend Who’d Rather Be at Disney
By Valerie Marino and Megan duBois
All products featured on Condé Nast Traveler are independently selected by our editors. However, when you buy something through our retail links, we may earn an affiliate commission.
We all have at least one friend or family member who’s a bona fide Disney adult. They likely spend all of their PTO on trips to Disneyland or even an Adventures by Disney vacation , can be spotted wearing Mickey Mouse Crocs outside of the theme parks, and will always say yes to a Disney-themed trivia night. If you’ve already started thinking about that person, and you have a big celebration or holiday coming up that includes gift-giving, then you’re in luck.
Below, we’ve rounded up 24 of the best gifts for Disney fans that will bring a bit of magic and nostalgia to their everyday life. Some of these are perfect for taking into the Disney Parks, too.
Carry-on essentials
Kitchen and home goods, clothing and accessories, books and cookbooks, more great disney gifts.
This article has been updated with new information since its original publish date.
While luggage is usually a very personal choice, Disney fans will love this Mickey Mouse–themed piece from American Tourister. The 20-inch carry-on spinner comes in red or black, with Mickey heads embossed into the outer shell. This carry-on features removable packing cubes , a laundry bag, and 1.5-inches of expandable space to help fit all of their park souvenirs.
You can’t walk into a Disney park without seeing dozens of Loungefly mini backpacks . The front of the backpack has Cinderella’s Castle with Mickey Mouse waving from the archway, while Tinkerbell flies overhead. The bag features a hidden Mickey design made from fireworks on the back of the bag and lamps that look like they belong on Main Street, USA, on both sides.
This AirPods case allows you to show off your love of Disney in a simple yet fun way. The silicone case resembles Minnie Mouse with her iconic bow and polka dot outfits. There is also a Minnie Mouse–themed attached buckle holder that makes it easy to clip the case to a backpack or fanny pack while traveling.
Fans of Star Wars know the character Ahsoka Tano well with her appearances in cartoons like The Clone Wars , Rebels , and the live-action series Ahsoka . Now you can show off your dedication to the character with this insulated tumbler that features Ahsoka’s face markings and lekku patterns. The 16-ounce cup keeps drinks cold for nine hours or hot for three.
Mickey waffles are a quintessential part of any Disney parks trip, whether they’re from the kiddie section of a breakfast buffet (we won’t judge) or topped with strawberries and whipped cream at the waffle stand in Magic Kingdom . Replicate the experience at home with this waffle maker that produces perfectly crispy miniature waffles, just like the ones you’ll find at Disney resorts and on Disney cruise ships .
When you can’t start your day with a press pot at Walt Disney World’s Kona Cafe, this trio of Joffrey’s ground coffee from Walt Disney World—including the signature Kona Blend—will help transport you to the sunny shores of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort . Feeling confident in the kitchen? Pair your brew with a serving of Tonga Toast , a resort staple.
If you still aren’t over the magic that came with the 50th-anniversary celebrations of Walt Disney World, consider this wrapped canvas from Thomas Kinked Studios. Not only does it depict Main Street, USA, it shows fireworks going off behind Cinderella’s Castle. This is one piece of art you will instantly want to hang up at home.
For Disney fans who are always channeling their inner chef like Remy or Tiana, this utensil holder is a cute way to bring more magic to their kitchen. The metal Mickey–shaped holder has a Mickey silhouette on the front, where he’s holding a spatula and says “the happiest kitchen on earth.”
Even drinks can be magical with this Mickey Mouse ice tray. The silicone tray features two different-sized holes, so you can use smaller or larger Mickey ice cubes depending on the type of cup the ice is going into.
David Peperkamp
Disney’s streaming platform allows fans to watch movies, cartoons, TV shows, and more all in one spot. The service features entertainment from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, and National Geographic, including big streaming hits like Ahsoka , Loki , and more. This is one gift that will keep on giving all year long. You can pay for the service monthly ($7.99 or $10.99 a month for a plan with or without ads, respectively), or spring for an annual subscription ($110 with no ads).
When the sun sets at Walt Disney World or Disneyland, the parks tend to get a little chilly, especially in the fall and winter. This adorable Magic Happens sweatshirt is perfect to keep you warm while racing from ride to ride. It features Sleeping Beauty's Castle from Disneyland Park, along with a line from the Disney parade of the same name.
One way to make any outfit more fun is with a pair of statement earrings. For Disney fans, these Minnie Mouse earrings are perfect. The studs have cute confetti beading through Minnie’s face and ears and a shiny gold bow. The best part about these earrings is that they are comfortable enough to wear all day, and not too heavy.
Never be late for an important date with this Mickey Mouse watch. This sleek watch is subtle with a black synthetic leather band and a Mickey Mouse watch face. Mickey’s arms help show what time it is, plus there is a red second hand for accurate time readings. You will be wearing this everywhere, from theme parks to dinners with friends.
Being able to show off your Disney style in a subtle way is ideal for Disney fans. This set of five socks feature some of the most beloved Disney characters including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Winnie the Pooh. The high-ankle socks would look cute paired with canvas sneakers or Crocs.
Bling out your tote bag or backpack with this Minnie Mouse bag charm. The sparkly accessory is a cute way to show off your love of Disney daily without going overboard. Slightly larger than a standard house key, the charm won’t weigh down bags either. The Minnie Mouse accessory has 1,800 hand-set crystals and pearls, making it even more special for your giftee.
If you're looking for effortless waves and curls that can make any Disney princess jealous, the Kitsch x Disney satin heatless curling set is perfect. The set is inspired by beloved Disney princesses, like Rapunzel, Belle, and Ariel, who you can see in the fabric. The pack includes one satin curling rod and two scrunchies to keep your hair in place while you sleep and wake up feeling like Sleeping Beauty after the spell has been broken.
For the ultimate Disney fan in your life, this book of 100 Disney adventures will have them dreaming of their next vacation. The book includes iconic Disney Parks activities, from watching the neon light up in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park to taking a whirlwind trip around the world with National Geographic Expeditions.
Every Disney fan has a favorite snack and meal in the parks. With this Delicious Disney: Walt Disney World cookbook, you can make your favorite Disney treats right at home with recipes straight from the Disney chefs. The book features a mix of past and present favorites from the resorts, including the banana-stuffed Tonga Toast from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
This book explores the life and work of Mary Blair, the American artist and illustrator who quite literally colored our childhoods. As the creator of concept art for films like Alice in Wonderland and Cinderella and the designer of the classic Disney attraction It’s A Small World, Blair influenced an entire generation of Disney animation.
A visit to Walt Disney World is special any time of year, but the parks come alive in a new way at the holidays, when there is even more lights, music, and merriment. The celebrations at Disney’s parks and cruise ships around the world are captured in Holiday Magic at the Disney Parks , with nearly 1,900 photographs capturing details of the food, entertainment, and decor—down to the resort’s tiniest four-inch-tall Christmas tree.
A trip to Disneyland, the only Disney park completed by Walt Disney himself, is a must for any theme park fan. Build up their travel fund with a Disney gift card to cash in on theme park tickets, meals, and more.
Originally created for visitors to leave their mark—quite literally—on the pathway leading to the Magic Kingdom, these decorative legacy pavers come in two sizes and can be engraved with a name, date, and special message, or even a special icon to recognize a wedding or anniversary.
Adults who love Lego sets and Star Wars just hit the jackpot with this Ahsoka Tano T-6 Jedi Shuttle set. The set has 599 pieces including a clear cockpit window where you can put one of the four Lego mini figures that are included, like Ahsoka Tano or Professor Huyang.
MakeUp Eraser’s reusable makeup removers work like magic, removing every bit of product with just a bit of water. This seven-day pack is printed with villain favorites, and the compact size is perfect for travel.

40+ Disney Gifts for the Ultimate Mickey Mouse and Disneyland Fans
Inside: Disney gifts for the ultimate Disney and Disneyland fans with over 40 unique Mickey and Friends gifts.
We live an hour away from Disneyland. So my kids grew up going to Disneyland every month. It is definitely our family’s happiest place on Earth .
We went so often that at two years old, we could put my vision impaired daughter down at the front gate and she would lead us to the very back of the park to her favorite ride: Small World.
To say we love Disneyland and all things Disney is a bit of an understatement.

5 Fun Ways to Gift Wrap a Disney Vacation
Disneyland / October 2, 2020 by Kimberly / Leave a Comment This article may contain sponsored content or affiliate links.
Want to gift wrap a Disney vacation this year? More families are giving vacations and other experiences as gifts because it's a gift that you can enjoy when you unwrap it, when you take the trip, and then for a lifetime through priceless family memories.
Whether you leave on Christmas Day or another time of year, it's fun to make the vacation look and feel like a gift on Christmas morning. Here are five creative ways to gift wrap a Disney vacation.
Mickey Balloon Surprise
This balloon surprise is about as easy as it gets, plus, it’s super cute too! Here is your list of supplies:
- One Mickey or Minnie Mouse helium balloon from the store, with string attached
- 2-5 regular helium balloons in coordinating colors to fill your box, with strings attached
- Large card printed with “We're Going to Disneyland/Walt Disney World!”
- Wrapping paper to cover the box
Buy your balloons at the last minute so they will float through Christmas morning. Attach the announcement card to the base of the Mickey balloon. Tape the ends of the balloon strings to the bottom of the box so they don't float away when opened.
Tuck the balloons inside the box and tape it shut. Wrap the box for Christmas morning. Get your video camera ready for the big reveal!

Mickey Mirror Surprise
Another easy and economical way to surprise your kids with a Disneyland vacation is with this Mickey Mirror Surprise. Here is your list of supplies:
- One round hand mirror (preferably black)
- One sheet of black felt
- A flat sheet of cardboard – about half the size of the felt
- Hot glue gun with glue
- A card that says “Look Who Is Going to Disneyland/Walt Disney World!”
The mirror is Mickey's face, and you'll add ears with the cardboard and felt. Place the mirror onto the sheet of cardboard and draw two ears onto the cardboard. Cut the ears out of the cardboard.
Place the ears onto the black piece of felt. Cut two pieces of felt for each ear to cover each side of the cardboard. Cut the felt a little larger than the cardboard, especially at the bottom of the ear.
Hot glue felt to both sides of the cardboard ears. Leave a little cardboard unglued at the bottom of each ear. This will help them attach more securely to the mirror.
Hot glue the bottoms of the ears to the mirror, then glue any loose felt into place. Attach the card to the mirror, or wrap them together in a gift box.

Rapunzel’s Maze of Hair
With this surprise, your child will follow a trail of Rapunzel’s golden hair throughout your house. It leads them to a vacation surprise! Here is what you need for this project.
- One skein of yellow yarn
- One Rapunzel doll (or one for each child)
- A note explaining that the child needs to follow Rapunzel's yellow hair for a surprise
- A card that says “We are going to Disneyland/Walt Disney World!”
String the yarn around your house or yard. Place the instructions at the beginning and the announcement and doll at the end.
For Christmas morning, you could start the search at the child's bedroom and have it end at the tree. Or start it at the tree and have it end somewhere else. You can get as creative with this one as you like!

Social Media Surprise
Here's an idea for teens who regularly use Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. This can work for any type of vacation – not just Disney.
Post photo hints of your vacation without a caption on your social media account. For Disneyland, you could post a picture of a plane, Mickey Mouse, or even a churro. If you’re headed to a more tropical location, post a picture of a palm tree, ocean, or even a weather report.
Post enough photos that your teen will notice most of them, but not so many that they'll figure it out more quickly than you want. After a few days or even a couple of weeks, post all the photos together in a collage with the announcement. Be sure to tag your teens so they are sure to see it!

Suitcase Reveal
Last, but certainly not least, is the biggest surprise of them all. If you can keep a secret long enough, my absolute favorite way to surprise your family with a vacation is having everyone’s suitcases packed and ready to go in the car on Christmas morning. They won’t even know that they are leaving on a trip until they walk out the door!
Giving a Disney vacation for the holidays is one present your family will never forget. If you need help planning the perfect trip, I recommend that you call Get Away Today . With discount tickets and hotel specials, you’ll be able to save the most on your next vacation.

A Disney vacation – either the theme parks or a cruise – is on many families’ travel bucket list. And if you’ve ever planned one yourself you know how time-consuming can be – and can sometimes end up being very costly.
Thinking about what gifts are good to give a family heading to Disney World, Disneyland or Disney Cruise vacation in the near future?
Here are a few gift ideas that will not only make Disney family vacations more memorable but also reduce some of out of pocket expenses.
1. Disney Princess Dress Pajamas
Our daughter never really liked the princess dresses or costumes you see in stores. They were too itchy she said and the glitter would end up everywhere – on the floor, in the car, and on our furniture.
These PJs dresses are a fraction of what the costume dresses sell for and are less messy (glitter be gone!). If you know of a little princess fan heading on a Disney vacation, I’d highly recommend purchasing one of these dresses over the costumes. Just remember to purchase one size bigger so it can be worn on top of their regular play clothes.
You can also find princess dress pajamas on Disney’s online store .
Parents looking for Toy Story, Star Wars or Marvel PJs for their kids can check out DisneyStore.com’s selection. It’s much easier for little ones to do meet and greets with these on instead of bulky, heavy costumes.
2. Autograph Book & Markers
3. Other Items for Collecting Autographs
They make great souvenirs and are less likely to be ruined after the trip. Because you know, sometimes kids like to rip out pages of their autograph book or draw over the signatures. OK, maybe that’s just my kids 😉
You can purchase them at the theme parks and resort hotel gift shops but they are pricey (for what they are) and sizes are limited – they sell out quickly during heavy rain days.
5. Cooling Towel
You will definitely need it when the temperatures begin to rise and it’s not bulky like the fans they sell at the parks or gift shops.
6. Disney Guide Books
Guide books and other Disney related books can help with planning and get kids excited about their upcoming trip.
Birnbaum’s Walt Disney World For Kids: The Official Guide
7. Touring Pack/Kit
Park days (Disney World and Disneyland) and port days (Disney Cruise Line) can be long. Kids and sometimes adults can get cranky when hungry or thirsty.
Bringing a lightweight cooler bag and refillable water bottles can minimize the meltdowns and also reduce food and drink costs.
8. Reservations for Special Activities and Experiences
If you want to spend a bit more, you can splurge on Disney activities and experiences like Star Wars Guided Tour at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a Safari experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Resort or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Grand Circle Tour at Disneyland Park and Royal Court Royal Tea on-board Disney cruise ships.
You may be able to make reservations and pay directly on the phone or you might have to use a Disney Gift Card to pay for the experience (read more about Disney Gift Cards below).
You can find out more about special events, activities, and tours on the following pages:
Disney World Events & Tours
Disneyland Events & Tours
Disney Cruise Line Onboard Activities
9. Disney Gift Cards
Disney Gift Cards are great for teaching kids about how to stay on budget and also reduces the amount of cash you need to carry with you. Just make sure you keep the cards in a safe place until you’re ready to make a purchase.
Where you can use Disney Gift Cards:
- Walt Disney World Resort®
- Disneyland Resort®
- Disney store locations within the U.S. (including Puerto Rico) and Canada
- DisneyStore.com
- Disney Cruise Line®
- Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai’i
- Disney’s Beach Resorts
- Adventures by Disney®
- Disney PhotoPass®
- Disney World Resort – resort hotels and theme parks (Florida)
- Disneyland Resort – resort hotels and theme parks (California)
- Disney Aulani Resort & Spa (Hawaii)
- Disney stores in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico) and Canada
- Disney Cruise Line
All Disney Gift Cards are reloadable and do not expire (there’s no service fee for unused balances).
If you’d like to purchase a Disney Gift Card online head to disneystore.com and allow 10-15 business days for delivery (or 24 hours for electronic gift cards).

Guide Books For Making The Most Of Disney World or Disneyland
Disney World or even Disneyland may be all about magical moments but the key to making most of your Disney vacation is to have a Disney strategy in place.
Disney without a strategy is just another frustrating day of running after the kids in an overcrowded, expensive place while the Disney characters walk right pass.
That’s where the Disney Guidebooks come in.
You will find a large variety of them on Amazon – so which should you buy?
The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World offers detailed and direct tips to make every WDW vacation count.
This guidebook has an insane number of positive reviews and the related app is great at planning a Disney World Trip.
The other recommended WDW guidebook is the Birnbaum’s Walt Disney World .
Birnbaum’s also has an Official WDW Guide for Kids .
Geared the younger audience, it has illustrations and interesting facts about rides that will enthrall all kids who can read.
How cool is that!
The Walt Disney World Magic guide book also has a lot of useful tips, inside secrets and planning information to make your trip smooth and easy!
Other good guides include the WDW Step by Step Planning Guide , and the Easy guide to Walt Disney World .
If you are visiting Disney California – then try the Official Guide to Disneyland or the Birnbaum’s Disneyland Guide or the 101 Disneyland Tips book.

These guidebooks are the most practical gift for someone going to Disney world and work best for families.
Disney Parks Magic Band
The Disney Parks Magic Bands are officially the coolest gifts for families going to Disney World.
So what exactly is a Disney Magic Band and what does it do?
Using the Disney Magic Band, you can electronically load park tickets and room keys for Disney resorts so they never get lost!
The magic bands are worn on the wrist like a bangle or a watch.
The Magic Bands can be used to unlock hotel rooms, redeem Fast Passes, save and purchase Disney PhotoPass images, charge food and purchases to Disney Resort hotel bill, and more !
Magic Bands make entering and switching between theme parks and water parks easier with no tickets to keep track of.
Tip – If your family is Annual Passholder or staying in the Disney Resort, you will automatically receive Magic Bands !
For everyone else, we recommend purchasing the Magic Bands to avoid hassles of paper tickets and photo tags.
The magic bands are available in a variety of colors and have a fun Mickey Mouse symbol on them.
See all available colors as well as unique patterns such as Olaf the snowman from Frozen here .
Are you worried that your magic band will get lost?

Disney Park Maps
This set contains all maps for the 4 Walt Disney World theme parks.
These are the exact maps that you get at the entrance to Disney World – having them in advance is very useful in deciding which rides to prioritize, where and what to eat, and hit the ground running at Disney World.
There are no such maps for sale for Disneyland because the California parks aren’t as complicated.
We had our maps from previous Disney trip and they proved extremely valuable while planning our trip with the kids, hence I really recommend them as gift for Disney trip.
They also work great in a Disney trip surprise reveal!
Disney Daily Agenda Planner
This book really exists!
If you don’t want to leave anything in your Disney Trip to chance then you absolutely need the Disney Daily Agenda Planner book.
Perfect for Type A personalities, this vacation planner has 14 days worth of planning pages.
There are separate pages for different activities and things you need to track of such as dining plans, reservations, must-dos, and more for each day.
It also has planning lists, planning tips, a plastic sleeve for storing maps, tickets, and more.
Disney Tip! Definitely add some of these practical must-have items as gifts. Buying anything inside Disney is very expensive!
Disney Backpack for Kids
Every kid needs a Disney Backpack to do Disney the right way.
Chances are you are going to be carrying the backpack for the better part of the day.
But carrying Disney travel gear is almost the rite of passage for anyone going to Disney.
This Disney Mickey / Minnie Mouse backpack is the perfect gift for toddlers while the drawstring Disney backpacks work great for older kids.
The drawstring ones easily fit water bottles, snacks, and other small items.
Or get this Disney vacation gift set with matching Mickey / Minnie backpacks plus Mickey / Minnie lanyards !
The ultimate gift for someone going to Florida Disney!
Sturdy Daypack
Finally, a gift that doesn’t scream Disney! A day at Disney is busy and tiring but so much fun!
A good daypack is essential to pack snacks, water, hats, sunglasses, souvenirs, change of clothes, swimsuit, diapers and more.
I love waterproof daypacks with lots of space and wide, padded comfortable straps like this budget Outlander daypack.
It has multiple compartments and folds down into a compact pouch. I also like that it comes in a variety of colors like the bright orange.
The VenturePal Daypack is another great budget option.
Otherwise, you can always go for a reliable brand like Osprey or Teton Sports .

Rain Jackets, Rain Coats and Ponchos
When we first visited Disneyland Anaheim in December a few years ago, it rained both days we were there.
We had to buy a Disney poncho from the park store and boy, it was pricey at ~$25/each!
If you know someone who has been to Disney for more than 2 days and didn’t have to get wet in the rain, then they are super lucky!
You can save so much by buying them online – this Poncho Family Pack of 8 Is dirt cheap and perfect to always keep in your travel bags!
While I personally like ponchos, I prefer raincoats for my preschool age kids since they are too small for most kid-sized ponchos!
We have the toddler raincoat by Columbia – excellent quality and works 100%!
Make sure to buy rain gear that’s lightweight and folds easily.
Keep a waterproof wet bag to stash the wet jackets away when it stops raining!
Also, it is always better to pack rain gear while planning a Disney Trip even though rain is not forecasted.
Water Bottles
Since we started traveling with the kids, food and drink-related items top my packing lists and gift registries.
Disney World and all Disney Parks are enormous and water bottles are absolutely necessary.
Sure you can buy one – but at $4 per bottle, it’s not cheap!
I make it a point to fill up whenever we pass a food joint or water spout.
Plus if you have pre-schoolers or toddlers then they ARE GOING TO WANT that Mickey Mouse bottle in the Disney Store.
It is much cheaper to buy them in advance and save a few bucks.
For toddlers, this Mickey Mouse sippy cup with silicone spout is just perfect while pre-schoolers will love the Disney straw cups .
You can also gift these 32 oz Mickey, Minnie, and other Disney character water bottles for adults.
Checking the Disney App for ride times and wait times, taking photos with Disney characters all take their toll on smartphone batteries.
Gift a power bank to your Disney going children or grandchildren and keep them connected and happy!
I have this portable Powerbank by Anker and it works excellently for my smartphones, iPod and more. It makes a nice Disney park gift.
Hand held USB Fans
The weather is always hot and humid in Disney World. These mini USB rechargeable hand-held fans are life-savers.
They are lightweight, fold-able and have 3-speed settings and perfect as personal fans.
We attach them to strollers and the kids are happy as clams.
Misting Fans
Portable or handheld misting fans are great alternatives to USB fans.
The misting fans will spray water and help keep the kids cool and entertained on Disney trips.
You can even put ice in the water compartment of some fans so that the water is really cool.
You can actually buy Minnie Mouse or Mickey Mouse handheld misting fan with Florida written on it for the kids.
For a non-Disney version for the adults, get the deluxe misting fan which is big enough to keep ice or the super small but efficient keychain misting fan .
The foldable handheld cooling fan is also a great option.
Hand Sanitizer
Disney World is so big and so crowded that you don’t even want to start thinking about the germs in there.
Add to that, we are in 2021 and the pandemic is still here!
Gift some hand sanitizers for peace of mind plus get an award for thinking of the most hygienic of Disney vacation gifts!
Off course you don’t need Disney but these matching Minnie and Mickey hand sanitizers with holders are so cute and cheap plus attach to backpacks and purses.
Disney Face Masks
Speaking of the pandemic, Disney Parks require face masks for all visitors.
That doesn’t seem likely to change anytime soon, especially during the busy holiday season.
Get nice Disney themed face masks to set the mood!
Disney Suitcases
Just imagine how much fun packing for Disney World trip would be in a Mickey Mouse suitcase!
Well, they exist!
American Tourister has some great Disney themed suitcases that would make any Disney lover smile – bit of a Splurge but so worth it!
The luggage bags top my list of cool Disney gift ideas for kids.
Put your family or loved ones in a great mood before the trip by gifting the Disney themed suitcases .
If you are looking for toddler sized Disney luggage , there are amazing options including Mickey Mouse, Finding Dory, Elsa and more.
Check all options for Disney themed luggage here .
Disney Luggage Tags and baggage locks
Ever taken ages finding your luggage at baggage carousels?
Even if you have a Disney themed suitcase , there might be other similar ones if you are landing at Orlando and your luggage is going straight ahead to Disney World Resort.
Do everybody a favor and just give these Disney luggage tags as gifts for people going to Disney World.
They are great at keeping your suitcases safe till Disney World and are a time-saving Disney resorts gift.
Get a matching Disney luggage lock to go with your baggage and tags!
Disney Beach Towel and Swimsuits
Disney World theme parks have many water rides and chances to get wet while Disney World Resorts have great pools.
The Mickey Mouse and Gang Beach towel is perfect for Disney trips and to keep in your backpack or diaper bag.
You can also check other great Disney Beach towel designs.
On a related note, Amazon also has an incredible collection of Disney swimsuits for girls which will make great summer Disney vacation gift ideas.
Disney Games to play during traveling
If you don’t live in Florida or California then traveling to Disney means either a long road-trip or red-eye flights with stopovers.
Travel Games are perfect to keep kids occupied and the parents will thank you for years to come.
Of course, a Disney vacation needs Disney themed games.
We have this dry-erase sketchpad for the kids and they love to draw on it while traveling.
I also like the Disney stickers and activity books and magnetic game sets .
We also enjoy playing the Mickey Eye Found It card game while on road trips.

Sunscreen, Lip-balm and Band-Aids
All of these items are must on any Disney World packing list.
Why not gift them in Disney themed packages and add to the packing excitement?
This Disney Frozen sunscreen lotion will be loved by all little girls.
Disney Princesses Lip Balm 8 pack is a great gift with 8 different flavors and pictures of princesses.
These Disney Band-aids come in 24 different styles and include Frozen, Mickey Mouse, Planes, Princesses, Finding Dory and more.
Mickey Mouse Crocs
A typical day at Disney World involves lots and lots of walking.
Comfortable, quality walking shoes are absolutely essential to survive Disney without blisters and band-aids.
While I love almost all crocs for walking, the many options in Mickey Mouse crocs make them absolutely perfect for a Disney World trip.
You can gift Mickey Crocs that light-up , Crocs that have Mickey design all over them or crocs with Mickey band , or Crocs with Minnie Mouse design.
They come in toddler, kids as well as adult unisex (men & women) sizes.

Fun Gifts for Kids going to Disney World
Finding the perfect gift for the most excited travelers is fun.
I love taking the time to shop and search for the most unique gift for my family.
All of the items below make perfect Disney World gift ideas.
Walt Disney World Autograph Book and Pens
The Walt Disney World Autograph Book is the perfect gift for young Disney visitors to collect autographs from their favorite characters – one of the best gifts from Disney world.
I was sure S-Boy would love handing it over to Mickey Mouse and his friends to sign, so we bought one – but it got stolen before we reached Disney… it’s a long story!
The autograph book is great for breakfast with the characters and makes an excellent trip souvenir.
Or you can buy the Disney Princess Autograph Book Plus Photo Album for little girls.
This book also has a photo sleeve to hold photographs with characters. You can also gift the Disney characters pen set to make it complete.
Disney World Vacation Gift Sets
Instead of buying individual gifts, why not buy sets that make great gifts by themselves?
This Mickey Mouse WDW travel gift set has an autograph book, mouse headbands, autograph pens, lanyards, and stickers. There’s also a matching Minnie mouse vacation gift set for girls.
There are quite a few such sets: try the Minnie backpack one or Mickey backpack one or the Mickey + Minnie backpacks + lanyard + autograph book one.
Children’s camera
What better time to gift your child his or her first camera?
We bought the V-Tech Toddler Camera for our preschooler and he loves using it.
He has already mastered the buttons and even frame options and loves taking pictures of his baby sister and everything else!
On our California trip, he was taking photos from the moment we reached the airport and especially loved taking pictures of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck – it was the perfect Disneyland gift!
Instant Camera
Instant Camera makes a super fun gift for kids going to Disney World.
The recent versions of instant cameras take bright pictures and have loads of smart features.
I especially love the Fujifilm Instant Camera as Disney gifts for teens or younger kids since it comes in bright colors including blue, green and pink and also has a selfie mirror.
The Polaroid Instant Camera is also a great camera with 4 scene settings.
Kids can take instant photos with characters and get them autographed as keepsakes – it’s easily the best of Disneyland trip gift ideas.
Disney World Pressed Penny Album
Have you ever lost your pressed pennies during a trip?
The pressed pennies and quarters make great little Disney mementos but are really hard to keep track of, especially during an exciting day at Disney Parks.
This Disney themed pressed penny passport book keeps all the pressed pennies safe and is one of the best gifts to give someone going to Disney World.
Disney Trading Pins
Disney trading pins are stamped with the Disney Logo and are trade-able at all Disney World Parks with the Disney Cast Members.
Kids love trading the pins for the ones they want with cast members.
Buying the trading pins in advance saves a lot of money as the pins are very expensive at Disney World.
I really like this set of 25 trading pins that includes hidden Mickey and other unique pins.
Alternatively, a set of 50 trading pins will be enough as gifts for kids going to Disney World as well as big families.
These pins are the perfect gifts to get everyone in Disney mood pre-trip.
Also, did you know that you can actually give Disney characters gifts?
While the characters can’t accept anything big they can accept letters, trinkets, and small things like honey for Winnie the Poo from their little fans.
These trading pins also make the perfect gifts for your favorite Disney characters.
Lanyard with Coin Purse
These Mickey and Friends Lanyards with Coin Purses are great companion gifts to Disney trading pins.
The pins can be attached to the lanyards to easily trade with Disney Cast Members.
A great alternative to the Disney Backpack, they are also excellent additions to Disney themed travel gear and make excellent gifts for an upcoming Disney trip.
The coin purse can be used to store Disney Resort room keys, IDs, park tickets and passes, souvenir pressed pennies, trading pins, chap-stick, etc.
Princess Dresses and Disney Costumes
How adorable are the photos of Disney character princesses with a toddler or pre-teen princesses at the princess meet-ups?
Princess Dresses are the ultimate going to Disney gifts for little girls! If you know a little girl who loves Disney, she will adore a princess dress of her favorite character.
You can choose among Belle or Elsa or Ariel and more among Disney’s favorite princesses .
You can also buy Disney costumes for boys including pirates, Mickey and friends – these are great gifts for child going to Disney world.
However, remember adults can’t wear costumes inside Disney!
This kid is going to Disney shirts
Buy the ‘this girl is going to Disney’ or ‘this boy is going to Disney’ shirts for your kids for a fun twist.
We saw a few kids wearing the shirts on the tram from Mickey and friends parking lot to the park and they got a lot of smiles.
These shirts also make the perfect gift for child going to Disney world on a surprise trip.
Books on Disney World and Disney Characters
Young readers will devour these books that tell them more about Disney World.
The Junior Encyclopedia of Animated Characters has fun facts, trivia, and quotes from Disney’s 150+ heroes, princesses, and villains – while it’s not for older kids, it is one of the perfect Disney gifts for toddlers.
The Disney Book has excellent information on Disney’s incredible animations, live-action movies, park attractions and more.
Disney A to Z: The Official Encyclopedia has trivia and anecdotes on all things Disney. Disney Who’s Who is a great book with information on all of Disney’s characters including the latest movie characters and more.
All these books make perfect gifts for kids going to Disney.
Fun gifts for Adults going to Disney World
Use these lists to find the best Disney World gifts for adults – these folks are honestly the hardest to buy since so much of Disney stuff is mostly geared towards toddlers and pre-teens – though really does a Disney fan have an upper age limit?!

Minnie Mouse pouch or makeup bags
If your girlfriend or wife loves Disney, then get her the Minnie Mouse makeup bag .
There are so many varieties of these bags and most of them are under $25, making them fun budget gifts.
I especially love the Disney polka dot makeup bag which fits a ton of toiletries and has separate compartments for brushes.
Some of these bags come in the form of small backpacks and can be used as standalone wallets too.
Mickey / Minnie Mouse Ears Headband
The Mouse that started it all! You simply need to have these Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse headbands while you visit the most magical place on earth.

What not to gift someone going to Disney world
Not all gifts are created equal.
While most of these things seem like the perfect Disney travel gifts – they are in fact not allowed inside the Disney parks.
Here’s a list of what not to buy as Disney world trip gift ideas.
Selfie sticks
Selfie sticks are banned inside Disney World which totally makes sense considering the number of people in there.
Though drones usually make the coolest gifts for travelers, they are banned in all Disney World Theme Parks.
Wagons are super useful to carry children as well as snacks and other items but they are banned inside Disney Parks.
Masks or Adult Costumes
Disney World Theme Parks ban masks or adults wearing costumes because they can’t be easily distinguished from the staff.

A popular design for Disney shirts is the family vacation ones which normally have the family name, month, and year.
Check out our Disney shirt post here, which is all-inclusive when it comes to the relationship with the person you’re surprising.
4. On the way to the airport
A great way to surprise kids with a Disney trip is to wait until the last minute to do so. This approach can be even more exciting since they have no idea the surprise Disney trip is coming.
As you approach the airport, ask them where they think you’re going. Drop hints such as dressing them in Disney clothing or playing Disney music in the car.
Once you arrive at the airport, let them know what you’ve planned. Their reactions will be worth the wait!
5. Scavenger Hunt
For the adventurous person in your life, a scavenger hunt is a great way to reveal a Disney trip! Start with a small note in the house and lead to the backyard, garage, etc. until you finally reveal a clue that reveals the surprise!
There are SO many of these scavenger hunts on Pinterest and the possibilities are endless with this approach. However you decide to set it up is your choice, but there are so many neat ways to really make the person wonder what you’re up to! If you’re wondering how to surprise kids with a Disney trip, this is the way!

6. Going to Grandma’s House
If you are able to commute to Disney World, telling your kids they’re going to a relative’s house is a great way to surprise them. This approach even allows you to pack clothes for them and not have questions asked when loading up the car.
This is best for small children, but older children may appreciate this one as well. It definitely depends on the child, though! Some may feel overwhelmed when planning for one thing and getting something completely different. Surely, once they get there, they will be in their element!
7. Suitcase filled with Disney items
This surprise is a great way to give the person you’re surprising some extra gear for the trip and being extra thoughtful while doing so! I mean, really, who wouldn’t love a suitcase or bag full of Disney items?
Some items to include are a pair of ears, character hand sanitizer, character masks, Disney keychains, autograph books, and anything else you can think of! Bonus points if the suitcase or travel bag is Disney-themed!
For more Disney items you could include here, try reading our article Disney items from Amazon!
8. Mickey balloons wrapped in a large box
Similar to the gender reveal trend, this Disney surprise trip reveal involves a large box and Mickey-shaped balloons! Simply fill them up with helium (or air) and cut the box open to show your surprise!
If you decide to fill the balloons with air, you will just have to pull them out by hand. That is why this is ideal with helium balloons so they float to the top!
You can find cheap balloons at your local dollar tree! These include Mickey as well as other Disney character balloons! Read our Disney Dollar Tree post for more cheap finds!
Click here for Mickey balloons on Amazon!
9. Invitation From Mickey
This Disney surprise trip is foolproof and just requires some paper, a p en, and maybe some colored markers and stickers if you really want to seal the deal! Writing an invitation from Mickey is a great way to surprise someone with a Disney trip!
Since Mickey is the star of the show here, it’s only right he sends the invitations out, to be honest. There are so many different options for what to say in this letter, but including one of Mickey’s famous catchphrases like “oh boy!” Or “see you real soon,” is sure to authenticate it.

10. Disney-inspired breakfast
What better way to let someone know about a surprise trip to Disney than by bringing a little bit of Disney to them? Especially when it comes in the form of food!
Make some Mickey waffles or Gaston’s famous cinnamon rolls and let them guess what exactly it is you’re planning for them by giving them one of their favorite Disney treats as a hint.
If you’re not a great cook or baker, it’s always okay to store-buy items, too. It helps if everything is easily identifiable as Disney snacks, but if not, simply have them guess where they can find most of these tasty treats! It should be pretty obvious!
We also have a recipe for Epcot’s Violet Lemonade here , which is a great addition to whatever you decide to prepare!
11. Customized Disney Tickets
An easy at-home Disney surprise reveal involve making customized Disney tickets! With this idea, you can pretty much do whatever you would like as far as designs go. You can use construction paper or cardstock and either design them online or handwrite them!
Additionally, there are also templates online which you can utilize to carry out this Disney trip reveal. Add names and their favorite Disney items or characters to really make this one special!
Shop these adorable custom tickets on Etsy here!
11. Decorate a space in the house
What better way to announce the surprise than to decorate a spot in the house and throw a mini Disney party! This is one of the best ways to announce this since it’s pretty obvious what is coming when you set this up!
Refer to our Disney Dollar Tree post to find some awesome decorations to do this with!
Shop for Mickey decor on Amazon here!
12. Disney Surprise Puzzle
This is yet another great idea due to the creativity that comes with it. It is also a great idea for kids! Give them a blank puzzle box and tell them the surprise is in the completed puzzle. They will be so excited to put it together and even more so when they realize what the surprise is!
There are hundreds of puzzles online for this Disney surprise trip reveal! You can find puzzles like the one below on Etsy here.
13. Drop gifts as hints
Similar to the surprise box and suitcase full of gifts, this is nearly the same but a little dialed back. As you await the initial surprise announcement, you can start to give gifts that may allude to the surprise. For example, maybe give them a new Disney shirt and when they ask what the occasion is, say it’s for something coming up.
This can be done with virtually anything, such as wax melts, hats, or jewelry! Some great Disney gifts including the one below can be found on Etsy or by clicking here!
14. Disney button
Disney buttons are an instant giveaway for a Disney trip and are perfect for anyone who doesn’t like to keep a secret for too long, or feels that the person/people they’re surprising will catch on quickly! By gifting a Disney button, you’re also giving them something to wear during the trip, which is always a bonus!
This great Disney button from Etsy can be found here.
15. Play Youtube videos as a hint
If you’re looking for another simple and. cost-effective reveal, this is the one for you! This can be as simple as playing the fireworks from Happily Ever After (which is on YouTube in HD), or maybe a clip from their favorite ride.
Even more simply, you can play a Disney promo video such as this one!
There are also hundreds of Disney surprise trip reveal videos on the site you could easily show them and then ask them what they would do if that was them… then tell them it is!

14 Ideas for Doing a Disney World Trip Reveal Surprise
So you’ve booked a trip to Disney World and now it’s time to share the news with your family! Do you want to do a special surprise Disney World trip reveal so that you can capture their reactions?
This is quite common with Disney World trips and they often make for some of the best videos. Who doesn’t love watching someone scream with joy or cry happy tears when they realize their dream trip is about to become a reality?
Here are some of my favourite ideas I have seen when doing a surprise Disney World trip reveal:
Mickey Balloons
This one works best if you are revealing the trip as part of a gift. It involves wrapping up a large box filled with some balloons, and some added magic is if the balloons are Mickey themed. When your family opens up the Disney World surprise box, the balloons will come flying out and you can include a message in the box (or attached to the string of the balloons) that says “You’re Going to Disney World!”
Scavenger Hunt
This one involves a bit more planning and preparation, but the result is super fun. You create a bunch of clues to lead them on a scavenger hunt and hide them throughout your house.
The kids often get so wrapped up in the fun of the game, that they don’t even realize that there may be a big surprise at the end. The treasure at the end is so worth it and will get some great reactions!
Reveal It When You Hit the Gates (Road Trip)
If you are driving to Disney World, then you can certainly pull this surprise off if your children are young. You tell them you are going somewhere else and then hit the road for Florida.
If they are young enough, they won’t pay attention to the road signs and will be unaware of where you are going. Once you are about to enter the Disney World property, now it is time to get them ready for your surprise trip reveal. Tell them to pay attention and look out the window. The Disney World gates are hard to miss and they’ll get pretty excited once they spot them.
Fake Airport Drop-Off
This surprise is for parents that are really good and covert at keeping secrets. You’ll need to keep the trip a secret from them until the last minute and also manage to pack all their stuff without them noticing. You disguise your trip to the airport as a drop-off for one of the parents for a business trip, but then you let them all in on the surprise!
Play a Fun Family Game
Jigsaw Puzzle
Do you have a kid or loved one that loves puzzles? Time to get creative and design a special puzzle made just for them! You can create your own design for your puzzle for free on Canva.com .
Once you have your image created with the message “You’re Going to Disney World!” on it, you can upload it to a puzzle making service. You could use a site such as www.createjigsawpuzzles.com or Vistaprint . Then, once you receive it, give it to the one you are surprising and watch them piece it together.
Advent Calendar Surprise
Are advent calendars a big hit in your house during the month of December? Why not make your own and customize the contents? Make a homemade advent calendar and provide the kids with little hints throughout the month leading up to Christmas. You can then have the big reveal inside the day of the 25th which will make for a fun Christmas morning!
Gift Them Their Magic Bands and Disney Goodies
Early Morning Surprise
Give them a reason to jump out of bed! If you have an early morning departure, keep the secret up until the very last minute. Wake them up when it’s time to go with their bags all packed and ready to go.
They’ll wake up feeling like they are in a dream and you will surely have no trouble getting them out of bed once you let them know where you are going!
Mail Them a Letter
Kids love getting mail. What better way to surprise them with a letter from their favourite Mouse! Send them a letter and then have them open it and read it aloud. You can find a Disney World surprise letter template online like this one from mommytravels.net.
Disney Mad Libs
Mad libs are a fun game where you have to fill in the blanks of a story before you read it aloud. Here is an example of a printable you can use to announce your trip. Have your child give you some answers for the blank sections and then give the completed story to them to read.
Organize a Disney Breakfast
Trick Them!
There are so many ways you can trick your kids and surprise them with a Disney vacation, but I really like how this mom orchestrated this one:
Box in a Box in a Box in a Box…..
This one is great if the surprise is a birthday gift. Make them work for it and wrap up several boxes in to each other making them go through several layers until they get to the very end. You could make the reveal their MagicBand or perhaps a letter saying “You’re going to Disney World!”. It makes for a really fun game and the anticipation really builds up as they open each layer.

We got plush Mickey and Minnie head easter baskets. We put in Disney shirts, their Magic bands, sunblock, a handheld fan/misting bottle, beach towels, goggles and Mickey shaped goldfish crackers. Gave them to our girls and asked them to figure out the surprise.

Can I ask how you swapped the fortunes?
We have never surprised our kids with a trip to Disney, but we have surprised my best friends daughter(also my daughters best friend) and our kids that my friend and her daughter were going with us on our trip last summer. I made a video at MAgic Kingdom a couple months before her birthday and for her birthday showed the video to her and my kids to reveal that they were coming with us to Disney World. My kids knew about the trip but not that our friends were joining us. I’m planning to surprise them for our spring break trip this coming year. Hoping I can hold out until it time to wake them for the drive to the airport.
If you want to make a trip to Walt Disney World a little more magical, I suggest WDW Florist Service. When I took my sons for the first time, I ordered special gifts for them that were waiting in our room when we arrived with a special message from Mickey! Was it an extra expense? Yes. Was it worth every penny? You bet!
