Arches & Canyonlands Tour

Popular Locations

Mesa Arch : Rise and Shine for the Perfect Shot Experience a breathtaking view of the valley as the morning sun illuminates Mesa Arch with an unearthly glow. Though it may be a small arch during the day, at dawn it transforms into a stunning photo location. A few hours before sunrise, we’ll depart from our hotel to capture this beauty.

Landscape Arch : Nighttime Photography at Its Finest As the world’s largest natural stone arch, Landscape Arch is a must-visit destination along the Devils Garden Trail. Not only is the surrounding area full of natural stone formations, but it also lends itself well to nighttime photography. Though painting the arch is difficult, capturing it by moonlight with a starry sky makes for amazing photos.

Partition Arch : Hike Your Way to a Stunning Sunrise View While it may require a bit of a hike and some technical skill, the sunrise view of the valley below from Partition Arch is well worth the effort. If you move fast enough, you can still get a good morning shot from this location while also capturing sunrise at Landscape Arch.

Delicate Arch : An Iconic Piece of Natural Architecture Arguably the most well-known rock structure in Arches National Park, Delicate Arch is a stunning piece of natural architecture. We’re able to hike directly to the arch for a fantastic photo opportunity, particularly at night when we can “light paint” the arch with a starry backdrop. For a more unique perspective, we can also capture imagery of the arch from the cliff tops across the canyon.

Corona Arch : A Partially Freestanding Arch with Wide Openings A beautiful hike of about 1.5 miles each way will take us to the partially freestanding Corona Arch. With a 140 x 105 foot opening, it’s no wonder a small plane was flown through it. We can even climb along the top of the arch and shoot photos from above it. This is another great location for light painting.

BLM Land : While not actually in the national parks, our tours often head back-country into local BLM lands. Not only do these areas offer photography and sightseeing on par with that in the parks, but we get the added benefit of no crowds and unique locations that most do not ever get to see.

Indian Rock Wall Art: A Cultural and Historical Experience Explore prehistoric Native American rock art found along the Colorado River at Indian Rock Wall Art. Both pictographs and petroglyphs are displayed, some of which date back to 6,000 B.C. It’s an easy location to photograph, though it may require standing in the middle of the road.

More Locations: The above locations are just popular examples of the many breathtaking destinations Arches National Park has to offer. Other destinations include Hurrah Pass, Moonflower Canyon, The Windows , Sandstone Arch, Balanced Rock , Dark Angel, Devils Garden , Double Arch , Double O Arch, Eye of the Whale Arch, Courthouse Wash, Salt Wash, Navajo Arch, Skyline Arch, Tower Arch, Fiery Furnace , Cave Springs, Confluence Overlook, Elephant Canyon, and many more. Let’s create your personalized itinerary and capture stunning photos that will last a lifetime.

Arches National Park Tours

Arches National Park is one of five National Parks in Utah. Each of these "Mighty Five" parks claims its own way of showcasing the magnificent geologic diversity of the Colorado Plateau. Arches National Park Tours showcase the more accessible of more than 2,000 arches - the highest concentration of arches on the planet. Driving and hiking through this Jurassic aged wonderland provides a glimpse back in time when gentle geologic forces from deep below the surface bulged upward to crack the surface sandstones into fins. Telling you the secret of how these fins of sandstone then became delicate ribbons of stone suspended in mid-air is a mystery we will leave for the tour. Step right this way!

Arches National Park Tour Reviews

Great arches experience, the best way to see arches national park.

Arches Stamp

Desert Solitaire & Arches Park

Arches National Monument was set aside in 1929 when Ed Abbey, famed monkey wrencher for the environmental movement, was just a babe. By the late 1960's Arches was prepping a promotion from "monument" to "park" and Abbey was right there in the lonely backcountry working as the one-and-only backcountry ranger. Abbey's time spent in the desert (feeling conflicted about keeping it to himself and sharing the beauty of arches with the "tourists") is cleverly documented in his nationwide-environmental-cult-inducing book "Desert Solitaire".

Arches National Park boasts the highest density of natural arches in the world with more than 2,000 - 43 of which have collapsed since 1977. 150 million years in the making, and we are lucky enough to see the show!

We’ll hike together to witness Double Arch, Windows, Delicate Arch and Sand Dune Arch. Wow! As the day is brimming with sites to see, we’ll enjoy a tasty sack lunch to have on the go.

After a busy day hiking, we’ll reward ourselves with a hearty dinner in Moab.

Meals included this day: breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Day 3: Goblin Valley & Capitol Reef

Enjoy another pleasant morning with your group and fuel up with a healthy breakfast before we set off on today’s adventure. We’ll take a jaunt through the aptly named Goblin Valley, where thousands of oddly shaped sandstone hoodoos cover the valley from the ground up.

The place really is a sight to behold and a reminder of how creative and fun nature can be!

We’ll have a sack lunch today as we push forward through the stunning Capitol Reef National Park. We have quite a few miles to cover today, but you’ll be surrounded by some of the country’s most iconic views along the way. Not a bad way to pass the time!

Day 4: Colorado River Rafting

This morning, we have an exciting adventure planned: rafting on the Colorado River! You’ll find yourself surrounded by towering, red rock walls as you’re transported over the silt-rich water, through canyons and around horseshoe bends. The half-day float is suitable for everyone and is a mellow ride, so you don’t have to worry about navigating any big rapids!

After the excitement of the day, we’ll unwind with a bit of souvenir shopping and dinner in downtown Moab.  An optional excursion that afternoon will be to visit the Dinosaur Museum, where they have interactive exhibits and life-sized recreations of dinosaurs that roamed the lands.

Day 5: Canyonlands National Park

Today’s destination is also known as the Grand Canyon of Utah, as it’s the largest national park in the state. For many visitors, the highlights are the vast chasms and canyons, uniquely carved by the Colorado River . We’ll make sure you get the best views of these from an upper vantage point, delivering wide vistas and sweeping scenes that will stay with you for a lifetime!

Many of our guests have said they enjoy this view more than the Grand Canyon. After enjoying a boxed lunch, we’ll squeeze in one more mini-adventure and swing through Dead Horse Point State Park. Here, we can take a moment to reflect and bask in the views of the mighty Colorado River and its endlessly meandering course that cuts and winds into the far-reaching horizon.

Day 6: Moab Jeeping Adventure

As this will be your last full day with us, we promise to make it extra fun! One of the best things to do in Moab is Jeeping, so we’ll head out together to have some adrenaline-fueled fun in sturdy 4×4 Jeeps that eat up the rugged terrain, scramble over rocks and power up and over steep canyons. You definitely won’t forget this experience in a hurry!

After your Jeeping adventure, we’ll come together for lunch and then get back on the road for our journey to Salt Lake City. Tonight we’ll stay in a hotel near the airport and head out for a special farewell dinner in the evening.

Day 7: Departure Day

Sadly, today is departure day, but we feel confident that you’ll be leaving with a collection of fantastic memories and experiences, as well as some new friends! Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before you check out and when you’re ready to go to the airport, a shuttle will be arranged for you.

The Best Canyonlands National Park Jeep Tours

As the name suggests, Canyonlands National Park is a sprawling mass of rugged earth and rock, austere, beautiful and impassable. Unless you’re in a 4×4 during one of these excellent tours.

The Green and Colorado rivers are the two main reasons why the land in southern Utah is so delightfully fractured into deep canyons. The other reasons are time and climate. The former is hard to pin down precisely, but millions of years of weathering has crafted distinct formations out of an otherwise rather arid land. While there are roads leading into Canyonlands National Park, it’s the off-roading that is the most rewarding way to experience this remarkable place. Here are four amazing Jeep tours that help you to do that from Moab, the closest major settlement.

Half-day Canyonlands Island in the Sky 4×4 Tour

As the Green River has carved its way through the sandstone mesa in Canyonlands, it has left sheer cliffs and stunning vistas that can be appreciated from the many out-of-the-way viewpoints only accessible in a 4×4 vehicle. This tour’s highlight though is along a paved road to the Island in the Sky, a mesa that happens to sit 1,000 feet (305m) above the surrounding land, offering breathtaking views out over the national park. This tour runs between two and three times a day. From $110 per person.

Canyonlands Backcountry Half-day Jeep Tour

The top of the mesa offers incredible views of the Canyonlands National Park, while down in the river-hewn valleys there’s so much to encounter, from rock formations to wildlife. This Jeep tour from Moab takes you to experience the best of both, while also tackling the challenging switchback dirt road known as the Shafer Trail, which leads up to a phenomenal viewpoint. You’ll also discover Native American petroglyphs, a natural rock arch and visit the Gooseneck Overlook where the river has cut a deep horseshoe canyon. From $132 per person.

Backcountry Jeep Adventure

If the idea of off-roading in Canyonlands National Park sounds fun, but you’d rather not take a guided Jeep tour, you can always rent your own for a day. Canyonlands Jeep Rentals provide the vehicle and a cooler full of ice and water. You’ll also be given a trail guide to find the most scenic and accessible spots in the area, such as the Shafer Trail. If you want help crafting an itinerary, you can get assistance with that, otherwise head out and explore. These Jeeps safely fit up to five people. Additional fees may be charged for tire coverage. From $341 per group.

Off-road Private Jeep Adventure in Moab

While many guided tours tend to pair you with other travelers, often fitting four people into one Jeep, this tour option is private. Your group (maximum four people) will be taken from Moab to tackle the varied natural challenges that stand in the way of ordinary vehicles. Your driver will maneuver over steep rocks and down intense ravines, negotiating sand dunes, encountering dinosaur footprints and even seeing elements of Arches National Park. Please note that this alternative tour generally does not enter Canyonlands National Park, although the terrain may be similar. This tour runs from Mon-Sat. From $300 per group.
