I did two tours with them and absolutely loved it. During the whale watching tour you go out of the sound toward the open ocean. It's an exciting ride and you see lots of small islands. We saw quite a few otters there! The highlight was the Orcas! We were lucky as they hadn't been spotted that season yet. The second tour was a bear watching tour. For that one you go further into the Sound. It was breathtaking and we saw A LOT OF BEARS Both our guides were knowledgable and not only talked about whales and bears but also the other animals and nature in general of the region.

This was our third wildlife tour in a span of four days so at this point we had become pseudo-experts. What I liked about Adventure Tofino Wildlife Tours is they are the most efficient. It was the shortest tour and within that time we saw harbour seals, a black bear and a raft of sea otters. The tour guide said his boat was the fastest in the fleet so we seemed to get to places quite quickly. The guide warned us we may not see black bears because they hadn't seen many. But then he heard where there was one and after fifteen or so minutes we got to the black bear. And like every tour we were respectfully far away from the black bear. I've attached a photo of the bear and it's at 30x zoom. For the harbor seals we were closer and even closer to the raft of sea otters, which was the highlight of the tour. I know that the black bear is supposed to be the highlight but I would rather see animals closer and it appeared that sea otters were not as skittish. As for equipment, this tour started at the nicest office though you have to pay for parking. The flotation suits looked quite new and very clean. This tour's boat was the most comfortable and easiest for viewing all around. Only one binocular was supplied for the whole tour to share so I was glad we brought our own. The whole tour cost almost $500 CAD. It's questionable whether it was worth it to see a black bear far away for twenty minutes, some harbor seals for a few minutes and a raft of sea otters for fifteen minutes. But I am glad we did it.

We thoroughly enjoyed the evening bear watch today. We saw 4 bears, 2 quite close up, plus seals and a bald eagle. The floatation suits kept us warm and made for fun pictures, the boat was comfortable, and our guide was kind and knowledgeable. Can't ask for more!

This review is for the bear watching tour. They dress you up warmly (maybe too warmly if you hit a hot day), give you a raincoat if it's raining, and away you go on a fast 11-person open boat. The front seat gets a lot of wind but has the best view. We saw four bears, seals, bald eagles, ducks with their ducklings, and a pair of sea eagles fishing. Plus lots of gorgeous scenery. Well worth the price.

I !! So awesome. Insanely beautiful. Would recommend 20/10. The boat driver was awesome and would wait to see the whales. Made sure everyone got a great view of the sea life. Sea lions, harbour seals and 3 humpback whales!

When deciding what activities to chose from in Tofino, the bear tour stood out to me. I've gone whale watching before and the hot springs seemed like a "younger" person activity (I like to soak in private), but seeing black bears in person seemed like a unique experience. Booking a reservation online was a breeze and even though we had to wake up really early in the morning, it was totally worth it! I really appreciated the thick waterproof suits they provided as I hate being cold! Once we set out on the water, I was in awe of the beauty of Clayoquot Sound. It's a great way to see the gorgeous landscape that this area has to offer. Tim, our guide, was very kind and informative during our trip. At first, I was a bit worried because it seemed so unlikely that bears would be on the shores every morning. But after a bit of searching, we spotting a cub and its mama digging around the shore. Then we saw two more larger black bears nearby. We watched them dig around for crabs until our 2.5 hours were almost up and as we headed back, we spotted one more along the shore. Additionally, we saw bald eagles and seals swimming around. This is a must-do tour for wildlife lovers and photographers!

We did the hot springs tour, late June, and got very lucky and ended up not only with a beautiful boat ride to the hot springs, but also seeing a grey whale, two black bears, and countless bald eagles along the way! Our tour guide/boat captain was incredibly knowledgeable about all the native flora and fauna as well as the First Nation communities and the hot springs themselves. He was very kind and a very fun tour guide who was happy to answer the groups questions! Before starting the tour you are warmly dressed in flotation suits and offered rain coats, gloves, hats, and glasses (you'll want them, even if it's sunny the ocean spray and wind can be very cold in the open boat). We loved our trip! Well worth the money! Thank you Adventure Tofino!

We are a family of 8 plus a baby and had a great experience on our day trip to the hot springs. The customer service from the front desk staff was excellent and they answered all our questions and booked us in easily. Chris was our captain on the 12 passenger covered vessel and did a fantastic job throughout the day. He was friendly, informative and ensured we knew plenty about the surroundings and the local wildlife. We saw lots of whales, enjoyed the hot springs and had a relaxing trip!

The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the bears. We encountered so much wildlife and saw 5 bears including a mother and her cub. The boat was comfortable and safe, the staff on the boat were very friendly and even shared some brilliant photos of the animals they had taken on our trip! Definitely worth every penny to see these beautiful creatures in the wild.

We went on a whale watching tour and saw a mama and baby gray whale and a humpback whale. The captain and guides were very informative. The guides took the time to approach all the guests to talk to them and share some facts. They went out of their way to make my 5 year old comfortable on the boat and also knew my oldest was big into birds so pointed out the different kinds of birds along the way. Great experience. We would definitely book a tour with them again!

We had a great trip bear-watching with our young children. Our captain and guide were friendly, professional, and informative. They were enthusiastic and keen to point out all kinds of wildlife. They showed a real love of the area and it was great to see the beautiful coastline from a different perspective. We saw loads of bears feeding along the shoreline. The boat stayed a reasonable distance from the bears so as not to disturb them, and our guides had a real respect for the animals. A very memorable experience!

What an incredible, once in a lifetime experience! We were very impressed with how much our guides knew and how they respected the ocean and its creatures. We got to see some humpback whales and grey whale. And if that wasn’t enough we spent almost half an hour watching a beautiful humpback whale breach over and over again! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. You guys have officially ruined whale watching for us because you have set the bar so high on our first whale watching trip ever! Thank you for everything!

Open ocean adventure, whale watching, this 2.5 to 3hr tour takes you out on the open pacific ocean in search of the west coast's most majestic animals, the whales., most common in this area are the summer resident gray whales. they leave their winter breeding grounds of mexico early in the year to begin their long migration on their way to alaska. during march and april we see these migrating whales travelling by our coast. while most of the gray whales travel all the way up to alaska to their feeding grounds, some of them will stay along the shallow coastline of vancouver island where we can watch them from may to october as they dive to the ocean floor in the search of food.  killerwhales, also known as orcas show up unexpected, along the coast, in the inlets or far out on the sea. they usually travel in groups but are also sighted on their own. the transient killer whales can be found in the spring, summer and fall but they don't belong to our regular sightings as we only get to see them a few times a month. bigger than the grays and orcas are the humpback whales, also found in the waters of the clayoquot sound during the summer. the power of a breaching humpback will take your breath away. as well as the sight of them lunge feeding and the perfectly shaped tale. because they like to be further out in the ocean we don't get to see them on all of our trips.  the main goal on this trip is to watch the whales but we will also see plenty of other wildlife a long the way, california sea lions, stellar sea lions, harbor seals, sea otters, bald eagles and other birds are a common sight on this trip. come and join us on this adventurous and exciting boat tour., 2.5-3 hours, flotation suits, 30 minutes before departure. , what to bring:  , be dressed in warm clothes (long pants, long sleeve shirt, warm sweater or jacket, long pants, closed shoes (no flip-flops or sandals), sunglasses & sunscreen, your camera  ​, we currently don't offer hats, gloves and goggles so please bring your own if you would like to wear them., requirements:, children must be at least 8 years old. , the maximum weight and body measurements to fit our largest flotation suit:, weight: 125kg-160kg, chest: 137cm-147cm, waist:122cm-127cm,   because this tour goes out onto the open ocean it is not suitable for people with serious medical conditions including but not limited to, back or neck injuries, recent surgery, and/or current or suspected pregnancy., adults (19+): $149, seniors (65+) :$139, youth (13-18): $139 children (8-12):  $129, prices shown above do not include taxes & fees, this tour is operated with our open zodiac, check-in time is 30 minutes prior to departure, our cancellation policy is 48 hours. for a cancellation before 48 hours prior to the tours departure there will be a cancellation fee of 3% but the rest of the money will be refunded. for a cancellation later than 48 hours prior to the tours departure there won't be any refund..
