What’s Holding Back the travel with chatura Industry?

Blog dec 25, 2021.

For all those people who don’t think they have the time to travel, I have news for you. You should travel. Just because you have no time to travel doesn’t mean you don’t have the ability. I was in New York City recently and my friend and I were talking about how the food in New York City is so expensive. We both had just eaten and were on our way to the subway.

So I asked her about this. She said she was amazed at how expensive the food was in New York in comparison to other cities. She said it was the most expensive she’d ever seen it. I asked her if she had ever been to another city in the world and she said she had never seen anything like it. I asked if she thought there was a secret food here that was different from other cities, and she said she was shocked that there wasn’t.

So when we have to eat expensive food and only get to see the same food for a few days, that really makes me wonder about what we are eating here.

That’s one of the things I love about chatura. She’s not just a food critic either. Unlike other critics, she doesn’t just say “this is cheap,” she actually goes out to eat it. For instance, last week, she and I went to a fancy Italian restaurant where we both got free appetizer and salad. We had to go to the restaurant to eat because we were both sick that week. For a second, I thought that was some kind of joke.

I dont know about you guys, but I can eat almost anything. Granted, if I were to take a regular diet, it would be something like beef. But when I eat chatura, I can tell it’s from a different culture, not just from an Asian restaurant. It has a real flavor, and I have to say, I like it.

I think chatura is a very healthy dish. It has an unusual flavor that makes you want to eat it more. It is also one of those dishes that is a bit difficult to find in many types of restaurants. It is also a kind of dish that could be very expensive. The recipe is actually quite easy to find though, and it just takes a little bit of time.

Since it is a kind of dish, you may have to wait before you can enjoy it. But you have to make a reservation. Otherwise, if you like it, you can try it in your favorite restaurant. I have found it to be very delicious and the best chatura that I have ever had.

The recipe for chatura is actually a little complicated. Well, it’s not that complicated. You just need three things to make it. The first one is the chatura powder. It is a dark brown powder that is found in many types of Indian cooking and is often used to make chutney. The second thing is the chatura sauce. This is a thick, spicy sauce made by mixing yogurt, onion, and some garlic with a little bit of sugar.

The chatura sauce is made by stirring the two ingredients together and then keeping everything simmering in a saucepan for about 10 minutes. The chatura powder is then added and it will start to melt into the sauce. The third thing is the chatura powder. It is a mixture of powdered coriander, ground cloves, and salt. It is very hard to find in the States, so I found it online and used it in my original recipe.

I am sure that you are all wondering how I got the recipe. Well, the first step is to make the chatura sauce, which is just one of the many things the chatura powder gives the sauce. The next step is to make the chatura powder. The chatura powder is simply ground coriander, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. The spices give the chatura a very unique taste and I think it is one of the very best.

Visa-free travel to Russia

Several countries now have bilateral agreements in place with the Russian Federation to allow visa-free travel to Russia for their citizens. Unfortunately, however, there is no indication that similar agreements will be reached with the EU, the US, or the UK any time soon.

If you are not a citizen of one of the countries below and do not hold a diplomatic passport, the only other way to visit the Russian Federation without a visa is on a cruise ship to St. Petersburg. This exemption allows you to stay in the city for up to 72 hours without a visa on the condition that you are sleeping on the ship and are accompanied at all times by a licensed tour guide. If your cruise calls in St. Petersburg for 48 or 72 hours, there are companies offering shore tours which include a day in Moscow.

The same visa-free regime is applied to passengers on ferries from Helsinki and Tallinn operated by the company St. Peter Line, although in the case of ferry passengers you need to book your own accommodation. Again, it is possible within the 72 hours to visit Moscow as well. You can find out more about visa-free tours to Moscow and St. Petersburg here .

Nationalities which can travel to Russia without visas are divided into four groups with different requirements and different limitations on length of stay for each group. Even if you do not need a visa to enter Russia, you will certainly need a passport valid for at least six months after the date of your proposed exit from Russia, and you may require other official documents. You will also, like all foreign travelers in Russia, still need to register with the Federal Migration Service upon arrival.

Citizens of the countries of the CIS (the Commonwealth of Independent States) are permitted to stay in the Russian Federation for up to 90 days without a visa.

Citizens of these countries are allowed to stay in the Russian Federation without a visa for up to 90 days in each 180-day period, provided they will not be involved in any commercial or work-related activities during their stay.

Citizens of the countries in this group can stay in the Russian Federation for up to 30 days without a visa. They are not entitled to work while in Russia.

Citizens of these Balkan countries can also stay in Russia without a visa for up to 30 days, but must also show tourist documents (tourist confirmation and tourist voucher) or an official invitation to immigration officials.

In Kyoto, Five Hotels to Add to Your Travel Wish List

The city’s newest crop of hotels — from a luxury retreat on a historic estate to a 10-room inn surrounded by forested mountains — were worth the wait.

A bedroom with two low beds with white sheets and a joined inverse trapezoidal wooden headboard with two built-in side tables with small lamps.

By John Wogan

The pandemic lockdown in Japan coincided with a flurry of new hotels, especially in Kyoto, where the Park Hyatt, Aman and Four Seasons were joined by a group of independent properties and the first Ace hotel in the archipelago. When the country finally reopened to foreign visitors in October 2022, tourists came flooding back to the city of 800-year-old temples and bamboo forests spoiled for choice of accommodations, at a range of prices. The number continues to grow: Next month, the wellness-focused Six Senses brand will open its first Japanese outpost in the city’s Higashiyama district, home to many of the main tourist sites. Here, a look at five of Kyoto’s newer hotels that are redefining the city’s hospitality scene.

Hotel the Mitsui Kyoto

Andre Fu, the interior designer behind hotels like the Upper House in Hong Kong and Villa La Coste in Aix-en-Provence, France, has infused his signature aesthetic (extravagantly refined, with warm woods and luxurious textures) within the confines of a particularly historic area of Kyoto. The 161-room Mitsui, opened in late 2020, sits across from Nijo Castle, an enormous 17th-century compound and a UNESCO World Heritage site. It’s in stark contrast to the hotel, whose only timeworn element is an imposing entrance gate — a traditional wood structure over 300 years old and a remnant of the days when the Mitsui family lived on the grounds. Once past the gate, you’ll find a glass-and-steel building, designed by the Japanese architect Akira Kuryu, and landscaping that’s meant to echo the original garden pathways of the Mitsui residence, planted with cherry trees and steppingstones that meander above a glassy pond. The four food and drink venues include the French-Japanese Toki, overseen by the chef Tetsuya Asano (previously of the Ritz Paris), and the Garden Bar, strategically positioned to capture seasonal views, like the spring cherry blossoms and blazing autumnal foliage, out of massive double windows. Rooms from about $1,360 a night.

Ace Hotel Kyoto

The youthful Ace hotel brand might seem like an odd fit in staid Kyoto. But this 213-room property, which opened in 2020, fits seamlessly into the city center thanks to a collaboration between the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma and the California-based design firm Commune. Kuma, who designed the Japan National Stadium (the centerpiece of the 2021 Tokyo Olympics), renovated the imposing 1920s-era, red brick Kyoto Central Telephone Office, while adding an industrial-looking building — sheathed in copper sulfide plating, cedar, glass and concrete — next door. Commune infused the guest rooms with Ace’s signature mix of bright colors and patterns: original dyed prints from the Japanese folk artist Samuro Yunoki sit alongside Tivoli radios, turntables and vintage records. The most popular part of the hotel, though, might be the street-level branch of Stumptown Coffee Roasters — the first in Japan. From about $300 a night.

Arashiyama House Mama

Like Kyoto’s dozens of temple gardens, this 10-room property offers an immediate sense of calm. Its entrance is so discreet, you could easily miss it. (Look for the flowing white cloth curtain with simple black signage, behind which is a garden path leading to a minimalist building made of wood, concrete and glass.) The hotel’s location informs the interior design: Thirty minutes west of central Kyoto, the Arashiyama district is defined by nature, with the Katsura River at its center, and filled with bamboo groves and surrounded by forested mountains. Guest rooms are simply furnished with beds, chairs and tables handmade by both Kyoto artisans and the Danish furniture maker Carl Hansen & Son, and each one has a soaking tub. Rooms from about $540 a night.

The Shinmonzen

The Gion district epitomizes Kyoto for many visitors, with its maze of narrow alleys and ryokans, traditional Japanese inns. It’s here, on a quiet side street among artists’ studios, antique shops and galleries, that the Shinmonzen opened in December 2021. Although it’s a new build, the aim was for the hotel to blend in with the surrounding structures. To accomplish this, the famed Japanese architect Tadao Ando created a wooden facade that replicates a machiya , one of the venerable townhouses found throughout Kyoto. There are only nine guest rooms, but they’re unusually spacious, and all have balconies with views of the Shirakawa River. Each one is an ode to Japanese interior elements, furnished with tatami mats, shoji (panels lined with rice paper) and cypress soaking tubs. And for dining, the chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, whose restaurant empire spans the world, devised a menu blending French, American and Asian influences, sourcing much of the produce from local farms. Rooms from about $1,500 a night.

Maana Kiyomizu

A three-suite hotel near the 16th-century Toyokuni Shrine, Maana Kiyomizu is the latest offering from Maana Homes, the small local hospitality group, which operates two other properties in the city. This one, opened in the winter of 2022, is located in Higashiyama, and is a complex of four machiya that also houses POJ Studio — a boutique that sells artisanal Japanese crafts and home goods. There’s also Kissa Kishin, the second branch of a popular Gion cafe, which serves coffee, matcha and pastries and acts as the unofficial social center for the property. The Japanese architects Uoya Shigenori and Takeshi Ikei renovated the suites to create a minimalist wabi-sabi ideal of city living, where handmade pottery from Shigaraki (a town famous for its ceramics) are the only decorative flourishes to be found. Rooms from about $560 a night.

On April 8, 2024, the MICHELIN Guide revealed the brand new One, Two, and Three Key distinctions for the most outstanding hotels in France.

This announcement comes four years into a comprehensive refresh of our hotel selection. The MICHELIN Guide now includes over 5,000 hotels across the world, and not a single one is simply a room for the night. These are places that significantly add to your experience as a traveler, each vetted and judged excellent in five categories: architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, overall personality and character, value for the price, and a significant contribution to the guest experience in a particular setting. Which brings us back to the Keys. The culmination of countless hours of evaluation by our team of experts, the Key hotels below represent the highlights of our broader selection. Like the MICHELIN Stars for restaurants, the MICHELIN Keys are our most outstanding hotels. In total, the 2024 MICHELIN Guide hotel selection in France includes 24 Three Key hotels, 38 Two Key hotels, and 127 One Key hotels. Want to know more about the MICHELIN Key? IHG Hotels Partners with Google to Build AI Trip Planner

Justin Dawes , Skift

April 9th, 2024 at 7:00 AM EDT

IHG Hotels & Resorts sees a future in helping travelers plan their entire trip, not just where to stay.

Justin Dawes

IHG Hotels & Resorts is planning to release a trip planning tool powered by artificial intelligence from Google.

The hotel giant plans to release the tool in the second half of the year as a feature within its One Rewards mobile app, which the company has been upgrading regularly since relaunching it almost two years ago.

The first version of the AI tool will focus on helping users with the “dreaming phase” of travel, according to Josh Weiss, vice president of guest digital products for IHG.

“We knew that a significant portion of our mobile app users and our web users have their minds made up about where they want to go … but we also know that a substantial portion of people —  perhaps even a growing segment of our customers — are open to inspiration,” Weiss told Skift.

This is the first announcement that Google is making about a hospitality company integrating its generative AI tech, according to Carrie Tharp, vice president of strategic industries for Google Cloud.

“You should expect a lot more in the travel space, which is why it’s important to get moving,” Tharp said.

And it’s among the first announcements like it by a hotel brand. Many have said they are experimenting with AI in various ways, but that usually hasn’t included trip planning.

“A lot of the work is on the guest to sort through where they want to go, what are the criteria, and there’s lots of tools that help them do that today, but nothing quite like the experience we used to have decades ago with travel agents,” Tharp said. “And so I think IHG gets to step into the foray of really advancing what digital can do.”

IHG is designing the tool using the Google Cloud platform for building AI software, called Vertex AI . And the AI comes from Google’s proprietary Gemini (formerly Bard) model.

The partnership between the two companies began in 2022 when IHG migrated components of its data to the Google Cloud database. Google has played a big role in helping IHG organize its data and create a foundation that can be used toward new innovations, Weiss said.

The Long-Term Vision

IHG first wants to ensure the core of the tool is valuable, with as few bugs as possible. And then the company plans to upgrade regularly.

The vision is that the chatbot will be able to answer general and specific questions based on Google’s swath of information paired with IHG’s data.

There could also be integrations from third-party travel companies for products like events and attractions bookings. Weiss expects IHG to test several companies to see how their products integrate with the app.

IHG gave a few examples of prompts the chatbot will be able to answer in the long term:

  •  “Give me four late-night dinner options near the InterContinental London Park Lane.”
  • “Does the Kimpton Shinjuku Hotel in Tokyo allow pets?”
  • “What jazz shows are happening near the Holiday Inn Express Manhattan Times Square South the weekend of October 12th?”

travel with chatura hotels

There could also be an opportunity in the future around engaging the customer before and during the stay, not just before booking.

User feedback will help determine how the tool evolves, whether that’s focused more on hotel information and insights, or more on local events and attractions and entertainment.

“I don’t know the answer to that yet,” Weiss said. “But the great thing is we have the opportunity to take it in multiple directions very quickly based on what these platforms enable us to do.”

A Work in Progress

The IHG tool will be the latest of many from large and small travel companies since OpenAI released the first generative AI tech in 2022. None of them yet have lived up to the big ideas about the future of travel planning and personalization that experts have been talking about.

But Tharp said it’s important for travel companies to start experimenting now and adjusting based on feedback.

“Every experience is not going to be perfect. Having human-in-the-loop feedback and being able to help tune the responses and really suit things to your brand voice is important,” Tharp said. “You don’t want to wait until everything’s perfect and a competitor has a really market-moving-type experience. You want to be out there learning as you go.”

Weiss added that the tool will be there for those who really want to try it, but it won’t disrupt the experience for those who want to continue searching and booking as they currently do.

“Some users have great desire to be part of very early developments and are willing to accept lots of glitches in exchange for some advantages and the chance for their feedback to actually help shape the future of the product,” he said.

Move over, hotels: There's a new vacation rental company in Paris

travel with chatura hotels

As the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics approach, thousands of travelers eager to be a part of the athletic excitement are likely searching for the perfect accommodations.

The Olympics will take place from July 26 to Aug. 11 and are expected to attract around 300,000 people to the opening ceremony.

While folks can search for Airbnbs or hotels, there’s lodging option exclusively to the City of Lights which seeks to curate a high-end Parisian experience for its guests.

HIGHSTAY is a new hybrid hospitality concept that blends the amenities of a five-star hotel with the privacy of a luxury residence. The independent collection of one- to three-bedroom apartments is located in some of Paris’ most iconic neighborhoods and puts travelers close to the Olympic action.

Are Airbnbs cheaper than hotels? Depends on your trip details, travel site survey says

“HIGHSTAY was born on a trip with friends, inspired by the desire to reinvent the classic hotel model,” HIGHSTAY’s General Manager Maxime Lallement told USA TODAY in an email. “From there, the brand sought to break free from the norms of traditional hospitality and offer an innovative combination of upscale short-term travel apartments and luxury hotels.”

To learn more about HIGHSTAY, read below.

What sets HIGHSTAY apart from other vacation rentals or hotels?

HIGHSTAY seeks to give guests “the best of both worlds, experiencing a five-star hotel and local luxurious flat all at once,” said Lallement. Guests can opt for short-term stays, like a single night or up to a month.

With floor-to-ceiling windows and marble fireplaces, each HIGHSTAY apartment has been “highly curated by a team of expert architects and interior designers'' to exude the quintessential Parisian elegance that attracts travelers. Guests can quickly check in and out through digital key locks. A one-bedroom apartment in the Marais that can hold up to four guests starts at $538, or 500 euros, a night.

Like a hotel, each HIGHSTAY apartment comes with daily housekeeping, a guest experience manager, and a 24/7 concierge to coordinate things such as car services, breakfast delivery, or restaurant reservations. The concierge even curates a snack and coffee collection to your liking. Guests can also request a unique city guide for their Parisian neighborhood that includes gallery openings, new restaurants, and more.

There are also HIGHSTAY Experiences that immerse travelers in Paris's culture, like a private cooking class or skipping the line at the Eiffel Tower with an exclusive visit to the engine room and a glass of champagne at the top.

How many HIGHSTAY apartments are there?

Currently, 36 apartments are available in neighborhoods like Champs-Elysées, Saint-Honoré, Louvre, and Marais. By the end of 2025, the company plans to expand to 100 locations, including villas.

Where can travelers book?

Travelers can browse available HIGHSTAY apartments and reserve online at HIGHSTAY’s website .

How far in advance should I book a HIGHSTAY?

Travelers have the flexibility to reserve their HIGHSTAY apartment just as they would with a hotel or Airbnb, whether it's one day in advance or months ahead.

Why should someone choose HIGHSTAY for the Olympics?

A majority of the HIGHSTAY apartments are located close to the Olympic festivities – like the Eiffel Tower Stadium in the landmark itself and an outdoor stadium at the Parc du Champ de Mars. The concerige services can make enjoying the city during the games more seamless, Lallement said.

“Those attending may choose to take advantage of HIGHSTAY’s personalized concierge services, including add-ons ranging from luxury car services to and from the venue to daily breakfast deliveries before the festivities, childcare services, or a personal training session to start the day,” she added.

Want to see the next total solar eclipse in 2026? An expert recommends booking travel now.

  • 2026 will be Europe's first total solar eclipse in 27 years.
  • Travelers worldwide will likely head to Spain, Iceland, and Greenland for the event.
  • A hotel expert encouraged travelers to start planning and booking their trips now.

Insider Today

It'll be two decades before the next total solar eclipse hits the US .

Another option: hop on a plane to Europe and turn the 2026 total solar eclipse into a viewing vacation.

Eclipse cartographer Michael Zeiler at GreatAmericanEclipse.com told Space.com that up to 3.7 million people likely traveled for the solar eclipse on Monday.

HotelPlanner's chief communication officer, Philip Ballard, told Business Insider that the eclipse was a major revenue generator for many cities. For places like Austin, Texas, and Rochester, New York, it could have created $1 billion in revenue, Vox reported.

"I would say the total solar eclipse has become a global phenomenon," Ballard said.

Ballard added that the next solar eclipse , which will pass through Iceland, Greenland, and Spain on August 12, 2026, could result in similar tourism and revenue influxes.

And if travelers are considering a trip to Europe for the solar eclipse, Ballard recommends planning your trip now.

Determine your eclipse viewing destination

According to Space.com , 2026 will be Europe's first total solar eclipse in 27 years. Its path will go through Greenland, parts of western Iceland, and northern Spain.

Choosing where to watch the eclipse will be a tough and important decision for travelers.

Iceland and Greenland have some positives. These regions will experience longer totality times, so viewers can watch the eclipse longer. Plus, the sun will be higher in the sky, so finding a spot to watch the eclipse will be less challenging, Space.com reported.

The downside is that these regions are more likely to be cloudy, according to the outlet.

Related stories

While parts of Spain are likely to offer clearer skies, the eclipse's timing will be shorter and closer to the horizon, which means travelers will need to plan and track down a viewing location with unobstructed views of the western horizon, Space.com reported.

Regardless of the destination, according to the outlet, one bonus is that the strongest meteor shower in the Northern Hemisphere will happen the following night, so travelers can pack two events into one trip.

Book flights and hotels far in advance

Ballard encouraged people to book their hotels in their destination of choice as far in advance as possible.

"You should start looking now and booking hotels now because those cities in the path are already going to be at peak season," Ballard said.

Ballard said it's similar to when a Super Bowl city is determined or a Taylor Swift tour date is announced — you immediately see spikes in bookings. He predicts hotel occupancy rates will hit near-record highs, and room prices may double around the solar eclipse date.

Ballard's general rule of thumb is to book international travel at least three months in advance, but since this is such an anticipated event, booking earlier is smart. His advice is to start discussing plans with friends and family. If you decide on a destination, book a refundable room to keep your options open if plans change.

Regarding purchasing a plane ticket, a study from Expedia states that international travel's sweet spot is at least six months in advance.

According to Expedia, travelers who book six months in advance save an average of 10% more than travelers booking within two months or less.

Skip the hassle of planning altogether and book a solar eclipse tour

Another option is to let a tour operator do the work for you. A handful of tour companies have seen the increased interest in the solar eclipse and launched tours designed around the event.

These tours will have predetermined locations to view the eclipse, hotel blocks reserved, and itineraries highlighting both the region and the eclipse.

However, these can sell out quickly. For example, Space and Telescope created an 11-day tour of Spain around viewing the 2026 solar eclipse. The tour has already sold out as of Wednesday, and the waitlist is full.

Other operators, such as Wilderness Travel and Eclipse Traveler, have similar itineraries for the total eclipse in 2026.
