Kaskade Announces Redux In The Park in Orange County

Grant Gilmore

Kaskade will kick off his Redux tour this year with a special Redux In The Park event at Orange County’s FivePoint Amphitheatre.

It seems like just yesterday that Kaskade launched a new concept for his fans to feast their ears on, Redux . Beginning as a tour that would harken back to the early days of his career with small rooms in mind, it quickly swelled in popularity as many clamored for their chance to see him play deeper, more intimate sets. Redux grew step by step in its expansion, growing to fill larger venues and inevitably finding a home at some of the world’s largest festivals. Now, a decade after that first Redux tour, Kaskade is set to embark on another run of shows and is kicking everything off in Orange County.

On Saturday, October 7 , Kaskade will make his return to The Park at FivePoint Amphitheatre for another curated show at the picturesque venue in Irvine . Those familiar with his recent touring post-pandemic will remember the iconic edition of Kaskade In The Park that was previously hosted there, which doubled as the ten-year celebration for his beloved album, Fire & Ice . This show would become legendary for many as Kaskade debuted several tracks off the v3 version of the album during an epic two-and-a-half-hour-long set packed full of emotion.

This time around, the event, dubbed Redux In The Park , will be centered solely on the deeper sounds that Kaskade has championed as of late and will surely draw in fans from all over Southern California and beyond. While details remain limited on who will be joining him at this show or the other cities he’ll be stopping at during this tour, those planning to attend this show must act quickly once passes become available this week as it will be one of the best to attend this fall.

Tickets for Kaskade’s Redux In The Park go on sale Thursday, August 17 at 10am PT. Head to his official website to sign up for pre-sale access, and let us know if you plan to attend on Twitter !

Kaskade Announces California Outdoor Show To Celebrate 10 Years Of Redux

Avatar photo

House legend Kaskade has just announced a special Redux show coming to Orange County, California this fall: Redux in the Park

This massive event will hypnotize ravers at The Park at FivePoint Amphitheatre in Irvine on Saturday, October 7, 2023, with an incredible outdoor dance party.

The Insomniac -produced show will kick off Kaskade’s 2023 Redux Tour, celebrating 10 years of his iconic Redux sets, which began in 2013 on the 10th anniversary of his first studio album.

Initially reserved for more intimate venues, Kaskade’s Redux performances have quickly evolved into huge, sought-after events around the world.

Named for his many Redux EPs, the set offers a deep dive into the mind of the Grammy-nominated artist—showcasing his roots with songs from his earlier catalog and deep house reworks of his progressive tracks.

Kaskade’s devoted fans can sign-up for presale access to Redux in the Park at his official website . Pre-sale will begin this Thursday, August 17 at 10AM PT. General on-sale will go live on Friday, August 18 at 10AM PT.

Kaskade

Redux sets have been a key component of the Kaskade repertoire for years, with the superstar producer leaning into the more underground house end of the electronic spectrum through these shows and corresponding series of Redux EPs.

While the artist born Ryan Raddon still collaborates with pop superstars (“With You,” his single with Meghan Trainor, is currently sitting at No. 12 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs ) and plays many of the biggest festival stages in the world, with the intimate Redux shows he nods to an earlier era of his career when he paid his way through college by DJing and owned a record shop in Salt Lake City.

See latest videos, charts and news

But Redux also encapsulates the latest incarnation of Kaskade as he’s currently on the road for his largely sold out Redux tour. Extending across the United States through mid-November, the tour includes a set this Sunday (Sept. 29) at San Diego’s CRSSD music festival, where Kaskade plays amongst a lineup including Richie Hawtin, Fisher, Hot Chip, Anna Lunoe, Moon Boots and many more.

Trending on Billboard

In his own words, Kaskade reflects on 10 tracks that are key to Redux:

Late Night Alumni, “The This This” (Kaskade Remix)

“This song has a way of using the vocals to the very best effect on a dark floor. It’s upbeat, but not overwhelmingly so. It’s also immediately sing-able, so by the time I’m 45 seconds in, the crowd is usually louder than the song when the chorus comes through.”

Kaskade & Late Night Alumni, “Laydown”

“Inserted at exactly the right time, this song makes such an impact. It isn’t what you’d think of when on a dance floor, but with a little mashing up, the lights off and after rinsing the crowd with deep heavy waves, this comes on it’s almost a group meditation.”

Julien Jabre, “Swimming Places” (Sebastian Ingrosso Re-edit)

“Because my job is to drive people nuts trying to figure out what I’m playing, it’s a treat to put songs together to create an entirely different vibe. I love to pair this with my song ‘Pose,’ which creates a very hypnotic state that almost  has a drop. But this is Redux, so don’t hold your breath for that.”

Kaskade & Felix Cartal, “More” (Diplo Remix)

“When Felix and I put ‘More’ together, it worked in my Redux sets, but then Diplo put his hands on it, and it worked in an entirely new way. His twisty bassline and pitched down vocals turn ‘More’ into a sultry late-night jam.”

Ry X, “Only” (Kaskade x Lipless Remix)

“Still can’t shake this song. It was perfect as is, but Lipless and I flipped it into something that works as a shining example of what Redux can be. I play this and people cry. Not bragging, it’s just true.”

Kaskade & Sego, “Ruckus”

“If you listen to the lyrics of this song, it kind of elevates the Redux mood from serious to funny. It’s so infectious and the fact that it’s talking about your grandma liking it…well, we all need our super fans.”

Two Door Cinema Club, “Handshake” (Amtrac Remix)

“I’ve been playing this song since the very beginning of Redux. It’s a beautiful blend of that dreamy synth and almost ’80s sounding vocal. I’ve never played this song and had it fall flat. It’s a rare example of everything coming together just perfectly.”

Kaskade, “Ain’t Gotta Lie”

“This is off the very first Redux  EP. Fresh off my Freaks of Nature tour I was ready to take everything from macro to micro and this song helped me bridge that journey. It doesn’t make it into every Redux set, but it’s a milestone song for me.”

Kaskade, “On Your Mind”

“A perfect example of how a bass-driven song with some percussive accents and a smooth voice can just immediately take the audience to that climactic place they’re trying to get to when they sign up for a night of Redux. ‘On Your Mind’ always hits them in those feelings.”

Kaskade, “The Diner” (Feat. Sara Diamond)

“On the right system, the bass in this song will crack your sternum. That’s both a warning and a promise.”

Turning back the clock: Kaskade brings Redux back to Seattle (DMNW Review)

' src=

Kaskade’s Redux set this last weekend in Seattle had all the vibes of an intimate performance, which follows the trend of his previous Redux tours, but is a departure from what is normally expected for this show-stopping Grammy nominated EDM producer.

Ask any DJ and producer who was part of the scene in any capacity in the 1990s, or even into the early 2000s, and the general consensus would be that it’s a great lifestyle, but no one believed it would ever lead to headlining massive festivals or solo arena tours.

The past decade has seen multitudes of solo artists backed by elaborate visual spectacles selling out venues around the world. For some artists, the first EDM show they attended happened to be one they were headlining (a perfect example being found in Porter Robinson.)

Kaskade has previously offered an explanation of his departure from this typical style of show through his social media outlets.

“My intention: to play smaller clubs, and for all who participated to be taken back a decade, when it was all about the music,” he wrote.

Stripping down the larger than life production of a major tour and playing a more stripped down type of set is becoming something of a trend in the festival world that continues to gain traction.

Glimpses of this began in 2014 when Skrillex embarked on his warehouse takeover, and where capacities of these venues exceeded 3,000 at times, the idea to remove the visual distraction from the audio seemed to be something new for the man arguably responsible for ushering in an entire generation of dance music fans.

For Kaskade, these shows are really about the feeling of the venue. It’s about the seemingly lost sense of community that once flourished in the house, techno, deep, jungle, and drum and bass scenes.

Kaskade’s Redux is really in essence, taking a trip back his own roots. He takes it back to the clubs that once valued a connection with the DJ — the person who sets the mood and takes you on a journey.

Now, granted, Showbox SoDo honestly turned the fog machines up to an unhealthy level and made it difficult to even see Kaskade while being literally in the center of the pit, but regardless, his set delivered the intended vibes, and he played for almost 4 hours, providing a rare treat for his dedicated fan base. We have to say that as far as the production aspect of this show, it was difficult to get behind the almost staggering smog, and that the venue was overall lacking, but the music was undeniably on point.

Check out Kaskade’s Redux 003 Album, which was obviously the central focus of the show below and vibe out to his housey tunes:

Inevitably, the question remains, whether or not this intimate trend will continue to grow with other underground-turned-mainstream artists, which would be exploratory and challenge the entire EDM genre to continue to increase it’s creativity as a whole. Overall, Kaskade’s Redux tour is truly something different to experience without a doubt, and worth being a part of at least once. Kaskade will be back returning back to the NW on November 14 for another show in Portland if you want to experience him again in the near future.

What do you think about Kaskade’s set and the venue experience itself? Do you have a different opinion? Please share your thoughts with us on Facebook  or  Twitter !

Important things happen in Pacific Northwest nightlife, and DMNW will send you alerts!
