The Ratho Farm Golf Links were first laid out and enjoyed by the pioneering Reid family, who emigrated from Scotland and settled Ratho in 1822. It is Australia’s oldest golf course, and the oldest remaining outside of Scotland. The Ratho Golf Links is a time capsule, among the best preserved of all the world’s early golf courses. Its most apparent uniqueness is the sheep, which graze and keep the playing areas short, with fences to keep them from the square greens.

Barnbougle – The Dunes

With its spectacular vistas of Tasmania’s North East Coast, Barnbougle Dunes is a links course unlike any other in Australia and is a fantastic example of traditional links golf.

Meandering along Tasmania’s dramatic North East Coast, it’s where breathtaking scenery and thrilling golf truly come together. The recipient of global accolades, Barnbougle Dunes was designed by U.S. Golf Visionary Tom Doak and Australian Mike Clayton to channel the traditional links courses of Scotland and Ireland.

Golf at The Dunes is a game of strategy, where each shot requires tactical thought and a little creativity can be rewarding.

A blend of fescue and bent grasses, the course flourishes in the coastal environment. Fairways are wide, wider than most golfers will have experienced on traditional courses. The greens are lively; rolling with the natural undulation of the dunes and with the 4th hole boasting the largest bunker in the southern hemisphere, this course is designed to challenge.

Barnbougle – Lost Farm

Just a short pitching wedge across the river from The Dunes lies Barnbougle’s second instalment, Lost Farm. Designed and built by world-renowned US golf course design company Coore & Crenshaw, Lost Farm has quickly captured the attention of international golfers of all abilities.

Cape Wickham Links

Cape Wickham Links sits on 363 acres of coastal land and is unique and rare in Australian and World golf given that eight holes are adjacent to the Bass Strait, another two holes have greens on the coastline, and a further three holes have tees beside the ocean.

You can also enjoy views of the Bass Strait from all 18 holes at Cape Wickham. The 18th hole is also a stand-out as it bends around the beach at Victoria Cove, with the beach being in play should an errant ball end up there.

The land is gently undulating and interspersed with giant sand dunes and ridges. The layout at Cape Wickham is made up of three basic loops with holes one through five being on the Cape Farewell headland, holes six to thirteen in dune land to the south of Cape Farewell, and holes fourteen to eighteen in the Lighthouse/Victoria Cove Zone.

Mowbray Golf Club

Mowbray Golf Club, located in the northern suburbs of Launceston, Tasmania, is known for its rich history and quality golfing experience. The club was originally established in 1934 as a 9-hole course and expanded in the 1960s to the current 18-hole layout, which stretches over 6,000 meters. The course includes two Par-5s, three Par-3s, and the remaining holes as Par-4s.

Escape to the simple, rugged beauty of Tassie on our 2025 Golf Tour to Tasmania to play its world-leading golf courses, sample its honest and uncomplicated dining, and discover a complex and rich history that still remains evident in every-day life. Visiting the Apple Isle is a fantastic opportunity to travel ‘a world-away’ and indulge in exceptional golf and gastronomy in a remote and natural setting, that’s still so close to home.

We’ll return to the incredible Apple Island in 2025 for its famed cool-climate golf on courses crafted in harmony with the rugged and remote coastal landscapes of Tassie.

Our tour in 2025 includes almost everything you will need: internal transfers, airport transfers from the Central Coast to Sydney domestic airport, all meals on golf days (barring drinks), golf on Tassie’s world-acclaimed golf courses, PGA coaching and tour championship prizes.

Plus, Kieran will deliver a number of golf clinics and in-game coaching along the way, so you can enjoy improve your game as you discover all Tasmanian golf has to offer.

Our journey: 2025 Golf Tour to Tasmania  

This year, we’re starting our tour at the incredible Country Club Tasmania, where we will stay for our first two nights. On day two, we’ll hold our first clinic and then tee-off at Country Club Tasmania. That night we will hold our welcome dinner.

On our third day we will travel north to Barnbougle Golf Links and Resort and upon arriving we will play our second round at Bougle Run, their newly-added 14 hole par 3/4 course. Afterwards we will check into the internationally-acclaimed Barnbougle Resort, positioned spectacularly on the rugged northern Tasmania coastline, where we will stay for our next four nights.

Barnbougle shot to fame in 2004 when it opened its first course, The Dunes. Lost Farm debuted shortly after and both courses were instantly recognised as two of Australia’s best. Today, The Dunes and Lost Farm hold prominent positions atop world-list rankings.

The next day, we’ll host our next PGA clinic followed by our first round on the world-ranking Lost Farm. We’ll follow that the next day at The Dunes, and on our final day, we’ll play a replay of Lost Farm.

All meals are included at Barnbougle too, which is an authentic representation of the natural and simplistic dining available at Tasmania.
