AWARDS, ACHIEVEMENTS, ACCOLADES

slide

What inspired me to join Carnival is the passion I have for cooking and my love for food. Which really become self of my life in the kitchen and the kitchen has become my first home. I work in the galley preparing the food, fish, pasta, some Filipino dishes, Indonesian dishes and Italian dishes as well. I do the main entrees and work in the crew food line. Working on an International cruise ship I learned how to cook different cuisine which I really love and really enjoy the most.

RIJAD FROM BOSNIA

I joined Carnival on February 5th, 2023, and it’s been a Great experience. First time working on cruise, adjusting was easy for me as I always loved traveling. It feels like home having a brother working for the same company for the past 7 years so that was a big part that attracted me, and the money is good. The beauty of working with family whilst traveling the world together is thrilling and can’t think of any another career opportunity that gives such a good balance.

ISHRON FROM ST. VINCENT & THE GRENADINES

I love traveling and as my boss says, ‘you get paid to travel!’ So that is nice, this is my opportunity, so I take it! As a galley attendant you work in the galley, so we do a lot of cleaning, plates, cups everything! In the galley we work as a team to get everything done easily. We have fun - we sing, dance a bit. It helps us get work done fast and the time go quickly.

MARIA THERSA FROM INDONESIA

It was in 2004 and I was reading a newspaper and I saw that Carnival was hiring so I applied. I believe that if you love what you are doing and you are happy with it - success will follow! Onboard I am responsible for the overall cleanliness of the cabin and of course with the proper PPE (personal protective equipment) and procedure. My advice to anyone thinking about applying to Carnival is just show your sincerity and love to your chosen career and success will follow.

ANTONIO FROM ITALY

What inspired me to join Carnival? Well it’s a cruise ship so it’s where I can increase my knowledge in electrical, tech and automation. I was thinking it was a good opportunity to join a cruise ship. A lot of my friends were talking really highly about the Carnival Family. If you have a passion of electrical work, Carnival is going to give you really good tools to increase your knowledge, to gain a lot of experience in automation, electrical and electronic stuff.

Carnival Cruise Line to Create Maritime Career Opportunities in the Philippines

  • October 14, 2022

carnival cruise line careers philippines

Carnival Cruise Line is partnering with the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA) and college and school network STI to assist Filipinos in taking up maritime studies, according to a press release.

According to Carnival, PMMA will provide training programs in several merchant marine fields to prepare Filipino students for shipboard training on Carnival ships, as well as collaborate with the cruise line in selecting students for cadetships, internships, and other employment opportunities.

Bettina Deynes, senior vice president and chief human resources officer at Carnival Cruise Line, and Richard Brearley, vice president of crew and travel operations, recently visited Manila to announce the partnership.

“Along with bringing a lot of expertise and knowledge, the Filipino community is strong among Carnival’s shipboard team members and embodies our values and brand essence of having fun, so Carnival wants to go beyond providing traditional roles. We want to broaden the roles that they are qualified to fill including non-traditional roles such as those within nautical operations,” commented Deynes.

STI Educational Services Group and STI Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Institute will create a curriculum for culinary and housekeeping courses in the country’s capital. Then, STI NAMEI graduates in marine transportation and marine engineering will be considered for potential employment with Carnival.

Carnival and recruitment agency United Philippine Line have worked together to create a system aimed at developing potential seafarers outside of Manila. In addition, the company is partnering with its recruiting partner, United Philippine Lines, to develop a system to train potential seafarers in various regions of the Philippines. As a result, the partnership will provide opportunities for maritime students not only from Manila but also from other parts of the country.

“With our partnership with Carnival, our students can be confident that they will get the best training and they have somewhere to go once they graduate,” said Monico Jacob, president and chief operations officer, STI ESG.

Histoire d'impact
