I have a tour pak that was on my 04 road king when I purchased it. First thing I did was remove it. Probably will never use it. Vivid black in great shape. What are they worth?? Make offer?? Tom

Tour Pak lid repair

That's a pretty nasty break. I would search for a new lid.  

replace it as it's a highly stressed area.  

ABS repair Hi I had a broken lid as well Glued up the crack and holes with ABS plastic glue Re-inforced with an ABS patch, see http://rudysproducts.com Then re-drilled the holes and fastened the hinge with bolts rather than rivets  

Already found a new lid, I have to say that ABS patch looks promising. I saved the website for the next time. Thanks for your replies  

When I was replacing the hinges ,the lid fell all the way back which cracked the bottom pack.The crack started at one of the hinge holes below the backrest and went down about 2.5 inches along the side. I repaired the crack with with ABS cement and fiberglass drywall tape from the inside.  

2006 should still be fiberglass I believe, fiberglass is easy to repair with a simple kit from the hardware store and done right very strong. I could be wrong but I thought they didn't switch to plastic until 2009.

Did some poking around and found out '03 was the last year for fiberglass.  

You might try JB weld. I had a hairline crack start in the corner of my tour pak lid and repaired by drilling a small hole at the end of the crack (to keep it from continuing) and them covered the hole and crack from the inside with JB weld. Has held up for a year and no further cracking. You can drill JB weld so you could fill the holes by using duct tape on the backside....  

Tour Pak Lid Fractured I have a 2010 Ultra - last week while traveling with my luggage on the luggage rack (dumb thing to do!), I stopped to take a photograph. When I opened the tour-pak, a gust of wind pulled the lid out of my grasp. The lanyard (retaining cable) separated and the lid fell back shearing the backside of the lid clear off. The heavy duty hinges remained attached and intact with the tour-pak body. I contacted my local dealer about replacing the lid and am awaiting a quote for a new lid. The color is (I think sunglow red) red with gold metal flake. Even though I will have to replace the lid, I want to reassemble and repair the old one. Has anyone had any success in putting a lid back together? What type of glue is recommended? Will fiberglass re-enforce the repair? How much roughening up does the surface need for the glue / fiberglass for proper adhesion and bonding? Any references would be greatly appreciated.
