The famous Phi Phi Islands, Krabi and lots of secure anchorages, pristine white-sand beaches, rugged uninhabited islands, and lively gay nightlife and gay resorts. This is a GaySail Exclusive Sailing Cruise on a  40 feet Lagoon Catamaran   and a  42 feet Lagoon Catamaran . Start and finish in Phuket. Both weeks have a different itinerary, so, if you like, you can make a great two week sail. This is the clothing optional week, the first week is a nude cruise. More than 130 picturesque isles lie within the province of Krabi alone, and the offshore marine preserves of the Similan and Surin islands are internationally famous as one of the world’s top scuba diving sites. A Phuket gay sailing vacation offers a multitude of scenic and secure anchorages, pristine white-sand beaches, rugged uninhabited islands, and lively gay nightlife and gay resorts. The warm, hospitable and gay friendly people of Thailand enhance the enjoyment of an exclusive clothing optional gay sailing cruise, making the sailing adventure all the more memorable in a nation often called the Land of Smiles.

The catamaran has four double cabins with private bathroom and two small single cabins in the front ( see layout ). Two double cabins have double beds, the other two cabins have split double beds. If you are single, you share a cabin with split double bed, or, if not available, with double bed. If you are single and you don't like to share a cabin, we have two small, cheaper, single Crew cabins in the front, only accessible from the deck.

Thailand Gay Catamaran Sailing Cruise: Patong - Koh Hong - Phuket Itinerary

Day 1 - Patong Patong. Day of for the guys who stay two weeks . Have a look at Patong Gay beach and Patong town. For the other guys, this is the time to hop on or -off the yacht for the one week cruise. At night the last change to visit the local gay life. Boarding for the new guests starts at 5 pm .

Day 2 - Nai Harn Our next stop is the quiet bay of Nai Harn on the south Phuket Island. Get some rest after the party atmosphere of Patong. Dinner in one the local restaurants on the beach.

Day 3 - Phi Phi Island North Phi Phi Island North – 35 nm. Today we set a course to the north part of Phi Phi Island. The scenery remains breathtaking as you sail past the islands and the mangrove forests along the high hills on the shore that rise ever higher toward the interior. The north parth of Koh Phi Phi is the more upmarket part, its has a great beach with a wonderful restaurant.

Day 4 - Ao Nang beach Ao Nang beach – 20 nm. Heading north to Phang-nga Bay, you’ll leave Phuket Island astern. This area is part of the Ao Phang-nga National Park, and its many islands beckon. Ao Nang is a beach resort place with many shops, bars and restaurants.

Day 5 - Ko Roi Our first stop is the scenic Koh Hong group of islands, where we will anchor between towering limestone pinnacles, enjoy a refreshing swim, and take the dinghy to explore the tunnel leading into an enclosed lagoon. In Thai, the word “hong” means room, and that’s exactly what you’ll find, a naturally formed room of magnificent size.This is a beautiful spot between the sheer cliffs where we will still overnight all alone, or we can do dinner in the nearby beach resort.

Day 6 - Ko Pan Yi Ko Pan Yi . This is a famous fishing village built above the water next to the Island. It is a very attractive village and night we will have dinner in one of the local fish restaurants.

Day 7 - Phuket Yacht Haven Marina Phuket Yacht Haven Marina . Today we have to sail back to the reality and return to the Marina. But you can always come back and book another cruise!

Day 8 - Phuket Disembark after breakfast.

WHERE DO WE GO?

Our carefully crafted itinerary with the breathtaking landscapes of the Andaman coast. Picturesque sunrise on the deck, sailing through crystal-clear waters, and exploring picturesque coastal towns. We've tailored an itinerary that covers all the bases - sea, sights, and some fun. 

EMBARKATION

Boarding at 5 pm.

The crew will be greeting you with a bottle of bubbly as you get settled down on the boat.

Kho Roi, Ko Ku Du Yai, Ko Phak Bia / Paradise Resort

Koh Roi is an island for exploring. There are no no shortage of caves and hongs to be explored by dingy. If overnighting watch for the thousands of fruit bats, some with an impressive 3-foot wing span. As the bats leave for their evening feast in the jungles it takes you back to a prehistoric time.

Maya Bay, Shark Point, Koh Yo Yai

We arrive in the magnificent white-sand beach in time for lunch and a swim.  The island is ours, hire a bike to explore, snorkel off the boat and around the cliff. As we're west facing we have a magical sunset. 

We welcome you on the boat and make you comfortable before enjoying an evening in Phuket.  

Phuket is a wonderful mix of island hopping in marine reserves, beautiful sights, and exciting open-water passages. Phuket has a bit of everything for everyone. 

Kho Hong, Monkey Trail, Railey

Koh Hong has a beautiful beach that we'll swim in and also boasts a huge hong (Hong is Thai for 'room' meaning a lagoon) with impressive cliffs surrounding it. As you'd expect, the water is crystal clear and inviting, perfect for swimming on a high tide and exploring.  

 Tip: look for caves and keep an eye out for bats.  

We will take the dingy to shore. There is a 'landing fee' of 300 Bhat per tourist (about USD $9) 

Ko Khao Nok

Our final day starts with our morning yoga before breakfast and swimming before heading up to Phuket. Phuket has something for everyone including Buddhist temples, statues, historic sites as well as no shortage of restaurants, bars, clubs, stalls selling their souvenirs, and the waterfront vibe.  

Bat Cave, James Bond Island and Kho Hong

Your first day will bring you east or north towards Phang Nga Bay. The dramatic towering limestone cliffs provide a stunning start to your vacation before you pass James Bond Island and Koh Panyee.  James Bond Island is famous for feature in 'The Man with the Golden Gun' and is a must see destination for all film buffs, Bond fans and budding secret agents.  

Poda Nai, Phi Phi Islands

*(Koh Phi Phi)  

We set sail south and heading to the beautiful Phi Phi islands. We'll pass Bamboo Island and the brave can snorkel looking for sharks.

We'll then head to Phi Phi Le for lunch, snorkeling and checking out the world famous Maya bay from 'The Beach' with Leonardo Dicaprio. Once we've finished with the day's excitement, we'll head back to Phi Phi to freshen up and check out the island.  

DISEMBARKATION

Check out at 10am. Sadly it is time to say goodbye, until next time.

Please note the itinerary may change without notice due to weather, sailing regattas, or other reasons. ​ Departure on Saturday, providing no significant boat damage from the previous week.

These cabins are situated on the rear part of the catamaran. It a bit bigger than the Forward cabin and is more for shared charter.

The Prague / Danube River Cruise 2018 was my first trip with Brand G.  They made it so easy every step of the way — from the initial contact, to adding extra nights before/after the tour, to airport pick ups, and everything in between.  The MS Amadeus Silver II is a beautiful ship with a friendly and helpful crew.  The on-board meals were delicious.  The rooms were spacious.  The on-board entertainment was fantastic.  Jeff and Brian were incredibly attentive and jumped thru hoops to ensure that every passenger had an amazing experience.  I will not hesitate to book another trip with Brand G.

I have been on three Brand g trips, and they have all been fantastic, each in its own way. It started with Galapagos and Ecuador; followed by Greek Islands cruise, from Istanbul to Athens; and then Danube River cruise, starting in Prague and ending in Budapest. I can’t say enough about Jeff Gundvaldson and Brian Van Wey, the outstanding leaders of Brand g. They are incredibly attentive to detail, both before and during the trips. And I’m taking another trip with them in September!

We absolutely love Brand g! Everything is taken care of, from pick up at the airport to delivery back after your trip. You just need to do your own air travel, and they handled everything else! Our friendly gay Thailand tour will have us visiting several lush and historic regions of this diverse land. Explore Bangkok, a national park along the River Kwai, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, and many other amazing locations including a verdant jungle hideaway near Phuket. Wander among ancient temples, markets, and ruins all while lodging in amazing hotels that reflect the character of their surroundings. Our gay Thailand tour focuses on cultural aspects while still enjoying a hike and canoe ride in Khao Sok National Park. We will visit a Railway market, a floating market, the JEATH War Museum commemorating the soldiers who built the bridge over the River Kwai (and into Burma), the Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, the White Temple and so much more. There is a lot of culture to soak up in Thailand. We will enjoy river cruises, local cuisine, elephants, and gorgeous scenery.

Day 1: Arrival into Bangkok

Welcome to Bangkok! Upon arrival, a local guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to our hotel. Since most flights arrive in the evening, there are no scheduled activities on this day. However, if everyone arrives early enough, we will have dinner this evening.

Day 2: Temples!

After breakfast, we will make our way to the amazing Grand Palace, home of Thailand’s king. We will also visit the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and its jade Buddha statue. We will wrap up the afternoon with a visit to Wat Pho to see more of Thailand’s rich Buddhist heritage.

This afternoon we will explore the Klongs (canals) of Thonburi. Our first stop is at the impressive Wat Arun, named for the Indian goddess of dawn. We then follow narrow canals through neighborhoods where the canal serves as the main “road”. Next, we’ll visit Chinatown and sample some local delicacies. Enjoy the City of Angels’ cultural contrasts by night over the Chao Praya River. Take in the views of the Temple of Dawn, Royal Barges House, Grand Palace, and other splendid temples.

Day 3: Damnoen Saduak – Kanchanaburi

Today we will head south from Bangkok to the garden province of Samut Songkhram. We will spend time walking along the famous Maeklong Railway Market and immersing ourselves in the local culture. Then we will continue to Damnoen Saduak floating market and climb aboard a long-tail boat for a canal cruise. We will have the opportunity to view how the Thai people live, including observing farmers working in the salt fields.

In the afternoon, we will drive west to Kanchanaburi, the site of the original “Bridge over the River Kwai”. We will pause to reflect at the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery and JEATH War Museum, a realistic depiction of prisoner of war living quarters, including detailed memorabilia dating from WWII. The name honors the Japanese, English, Australian, American, Thai and Holland soldiers who served in the strategic region that straddles the Thai and Burmese borders. The prisoners of war built the Thai-Burma Railway, often called the “Death Railway” because of the many lost lives during its building.

Day 4: Erawan National Park – Sai Yok

This morning we will enjoy a bamboo rafting adventure along the River Kwai. Then we will set off to visit the Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum, located where the railroad was cut into a cliff. This afternoon we will enjoy the largest and most amazing waterfall in the region, Erawan Waterfall, located on the bank of the Kwai Yai River in Khao Salop National Park. Enjoy some peaceful, serene time here surrounded by countless species of plants and flowers. We will have time to relax and enjoy our natural surroundings before heading to Saiyok for the rest of the afternoon.

Day 5: Ayuthaya – UNESCO site

Today’s adventure starts by taking a local boat from our hotel to a nearby station where we board a train for a 45-minute ride on the rail line originally built by the prisoners.

Later we will travel to Ayutthaya, Thailand’s former capital. It is known for the ruins from its prestigious past and is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This afternoon we will visit Wat Phra Si Sanphet, a royal sanctuary, and Wat Chaiwatthanaram, built by King PresatThong in 1630 with images such as Buddha preaching to his mother in heaven.

Day 6: Wat Phananchoeng – Chao Phraya River

This morning we will see the diversity that made Ayutthaya a strong kingdom and major trading center. Our stops will include a Buddhist temple in the old Chinese quarter, the Japanese Village, and the Muslim Quarter where we can sample local cuisine such as candy floss roti. Surprisingly, there is also a Dutch Settlement, Baan Hollanda, from which trade with Europe was carried out.

For lunch, we will board a traditional teak rice barge and drift along the majestic Chao Phraya River, the River of Kings. Onboard we will enjoy a delicious selection of Thai food as we cruise around Ayutthaya and its old capital. This afternoon we will visit Bang Pa-In Summer Palace. Built in the 1600s as the summer residence for the Royal Family, this palace is an impressive collection of gardens and majestic mansions.

Day 7: Bangkok/Chiang Rai 

After breakfast, we will drive to Bangkok airport and take our flight to Chiang Rai. Upon arrival, we will meet our local guide to transfer to our long-tail boat for a cruise on the Mae Kok River. The ride is more about the journey than the destination – the spectacular mountain scenery and opportunity to visit hill-tribe villages along the way make this one of the most enjoyable river trips in Thailand.

Day 8: Golden Triangle – Chiang Rai

This morning, we depart to the village of Santi Khiri, founded in 1960 on a lovely mountain. It was built by Chinese Kuomintang peasant-soldiers expelled from Burma, where they had gone after losing China to the Communists in 1949. We will also visit ethnic villages and stroll through a bucolic tea plantation. Next, we will climb onto an I Tan, a vehicle used to transport rice after harvest. We will visit a village of the Akha ethnic group. This village is under the King’s patronage for planting fruit trees and vegetables to replace the drug trade that used to be a major source of income here in the “Golden Triangle”. After lunch, the rest of the day will be at leisure back at our Chiang Rai hotel.

Day 9: Chiang Mai

Today we will visit Chiang Rai’s amazing White Temple, a masterpiece of Thai architecture. It was founded in 2000 by renowned Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat and it is made of white concrete and several thousand small mirrors.

Afterward, we will drive through the lush hills to Chiang Mai (about a 3-hour drive) and visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, one of Chiang Mai’s most important landmarks where sacred Buddha relics are preserved in a golden stupa. The panoramic view of Chiang Mai is absolutely fantastic.

This evening, we will head to the cultural center for a Khantoke dinner! Enjoy the northern cuisine, consisting of several tasting dishes, while enjoying traditional music with dancers.

Day 10: Elephant Nature Park

After breakfast, we will head north to Mae Taman Elephant Camp. Here we will observe elephants in their daily life: working, training, and bathtime! Then we will walk for about an hour through the mountainous jungle to the river, ending with an ox-cart ride to a spot where we will have lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit a garden of orchids and admire over 150 amazing species of different sizes, diversity, and beauty.

Day 11: Chiang Mai – Khao Sok

Today we fly from Chiang Mai to Phuket Airport, from which we will transfer to Khao Sok National Park. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a leisurely canoe ride down the Khao Sok River, spotting unique flora and fauna, and passing limestone cliffs and evergreen mountains along the way. We will enjoy a cup of coffee or tea made on a bamboo stick and served in bamboo cups while we soak in the beautiful nature surrounding us.

We’ll spend the next two nights in unique bungalows with air-conditioning inside and decks outside from which you can listen to the nocturnal sounds of the jungle.

Day 12: Khao Sok National Park

After breakfast, we will depart for Khao Sok, one of the biggest and oldest national parks in the world. We will explore the riverside by canoe, being paddled by your guide, as you sit back and relax. We will pass towering limestone cliffs and spot monitor lizards, kingfishers, and monkeys along the way. If interested, we can stop for a cool dip in the water and enjoy a coffee made from a bamboo cup.

Enjoy a Thai lunch back at your resort lodge before we head out to enjoy an elephant camp.

Day 13: Khao Sok National Park – Phuket

After an unforgettable night in one of the unique bungalows, we will head to Barrier Lake. We will make our way via a longtail boat. Then enjoy a 1-2 hour walk at Klong Kla with our experienced guide as we head deep into the jungle to explore Prakaiphet Cave. After lunch at the bamboo raft house, we will have time to swim and relax.

Day 14: Phuket

Today we will drive along the coastline to a gorgeous viewpoint of three of Phuket’s most beautiful beaches before continuing to Promthep Cape. From there we will visit Wat Chalong, a revered monastery with an interesting history of the temple’s abbot. Then we will enjoy time in Phuket’s old town, which used to be the island’s commercial center. We will walk around and enjoy the unique Sino-Portuguese architecture.

This evening we will enjoy our farewell dinner at a hotel just off Phuket’s Patong Beach. After dinner, you may want to check out the gay nightlife just up the hill from our hotel.

Day 15: Departure

After breakfast, you will have the morning free. The main tour ends with a transfer to Phuket airport in time for your flight. If flying through Bangkok, please schedule your departure flight out of Bangkok for 3 PM or later. We can help reserve a Bangkok Airport hotel if your flight is during the night or the next day.

The catamaran has four double cabins with private bathroom and two small single cabins in the front ( see layout ). Two double cabins have double beds, the other two cabins have split double beds. If you are single, you share a cabin with split double bed, or, if not available, with double bed. If you are single and you don't like to share a cabin, we have two small, cheaper, single Crew cabins in the front, only accessible from the deck.

Thailand Gay Catamaran Sailing Cruise: Patong - Koh Hong - Phuket Itinerary

Day 1 - Patong Patong. Day of for the guys who stay two weeks . Have a look at Patong Gay beach and Patong town. For the other guys, this is the time to hop on or -off the yacht for the one week cruise. At night the last change to visit the local gay life. Boarding for the new guests starts at 5 pm .

Day 2 - Nai Harn Our next stop is the quiet bay of Nai Harn on the south Phuket Island. Get some rest after the party atmosphere of Patong. Dinner in one the local restaurants on the beach.

Day 3 - Phi Phi Island North Phi Phi Island North – 35 nm. Today we set a course to the north part of Phi Phi Island. The scenery remains breathtaking as you sail past the islands and the mangrove forests along the high hills on the shore that rise ever higher toward the interior. The north parth of Koh Phi Phi is the more upmarket part, its has a great beach with a wonderful restaurant.

Day 4 - Ao Nang beach Ao Nang beach – 20 nm. Heading north to Phang-nga Bay, you’ll leave Phuket Island astern. This area is part of the Ao Phang-nga National Park, and its many islands beckon. Ao Nang is a beach resort place with many shops, bars and restaurants.

Day 5 - Ko Roi Our first stop is the scenic Koh Hong group of islands, where we will anchor between towering limestone pinnacles, enjoy a refreshing swim, and take the dinghy to explore the tunnel leading into an enclosed lagoon. In Thai, the word “hong” means room, and that’s exactly what you’ll find, a naturally formed room of magnificent size.This is a beautiful spot between the sheer cliffs where we will still overnight all alone, or we can do dinner in the nearby beach resort.

Day 6 - Ko Pan Yi Ko Pan Yi . This is a famous fishing village built above the water next to the Island. It is a very attractive village and night we will have dinner in one of the local fish restaurants.

Day 7 - Phuket Yacht Haven Marina Phuket Yacht Haven Marina . Today we have to sail back to the reality and return to the Marina. But you can always come back and book another cruise!

Day 8 - Phuket Disembark after breakfast.

Thai King Signs Marriage Equality Bill into Law

In Thailand, same-sex couples will be able to get married starting in January, after the Thai king signed a recently passed bill into law. Thailand becomes the first country in Southeast Asia to recognize same-sex marriages. Activists celebrated the milestone in Bangkok.
