Berlin Dinner Cruise

  • 7.70 / 10 72 reviews | 683 travellers We liked it, the food was very delicious and they gave us a typical dessert to try. The only thing that would change would be the time of the excursion since since it was already dark at that time, the landscape was not well appreciated. 8 Virginia Del

  • Maureen K 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Evening cruise in November We enjoyed this trip. We received a glass of gluwein on joining. The meal was three courses. Potato salad, followed by pork, mash and carrots and a desert. You also had a drink included. Additional drink and coffee was payable, but was reasonably priced. We had a commentary in German and English which was informative. You had to concentrate to hear it as other guests chattering! The staff on board were pleasant. All in all I thought it was good value. The only difficulty we had was in finding the berth but we were early and the boat hadn’t yet docked. Once it had and was light up it was fine. We had a drink across the bridge while we were waiting. In fairness the instructions were clear. We would certainly recommend it. Read more Written 27 November 2023
  • 337glynw 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles An experience not to be repeated A very disappointing experience. They were obviously having problems in the kitchen. The food was so bad. We have never experienced such poor quality. We only had a couple of mouthfuls and that was more than enough. They obviously were aware that people were not happy but did not offer any explanation, just offered free drinks. Next day we were at the pharmacy getting stomach remedies. The boat itself was lovely and the actual trip very interesting. Just don't eat the food. Read more Written 20 September 2023
  • nothappydays 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Awful Well, this was nothing short of a complete shambles, without a doubt the worst food and service we've ever encountered, blatantly lied to by staff about the complete lack of a main course, and the offer of a small beer as some kind of compensation, avoid this at all costs. • Quentin D 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles No customer orientation They cancelled the appointment taken 4 months in advance, with one message notice in trip advisor. No reminder, no phone call. Super disappointing. Read more Written 1 June 2023
  • Sightsee246424 0 contributions 3.0 of 5 bubbles Dinner on the Spree The trip was excellent. The noise level in the boat was a bit high and we couldn't understand all the commentaries about the places we saw. The food was OK. The white wine was excellent. We were expecting a little bit more romantic boat trip. Read more Written 3 May 2023
  • narnbeard 0 contributions 2.0 of 5 bubbles Just ok The food should be more Germanic. For example the dessert could be streuselkuchen and the mains sauerbraten. The audio needs to be at each table as it was overridden by people chatting. Read more Written 1 May 2023
  • DebbyS79 0 contributions 3.0 of 5 bubbles Dinner cruise Cruise was nice but audio hard to hear. A group of men were loud and not interested in hearing the commentary. Maybe headsets need to be handed out . Also we were sat with another couple we didn’t know while there were other groups of 2 sitting by themselves. Still not sure why we were sat with others and not given own table. Read more Written 30 April 2023

  • Y7227UUgregs 0 contributions 2.0 of 5 bubbles Cruised in the dark We did the evening dinner cruise on a Sunday evening. The pick up place was very hard to find in the dark, the best I can explain is if you’re facing across the bridge and can see a Chinese restaurant on the other side on your right, do a right down to the river bank and walk along about fifty metres, keeping the restaurant on the opposite side of the river. The hosts were really welcoming and delightful. The three course food was no more than ok, with a cold starter, warm main and cold desert. Could have done with hot courses on a wintry December evening, though to be fair it was as advertised. The hosts were quick to serve drinks and they were a reasonable price. The boat itself was very clean, with toilets etc, but was extremely cold. It felt like it had been sat and the heaters only just turned on before pick up and definitely needed to be warmer. The cruise itself was disappointing. It wasn’t on the main river in Berlin and though we did pass a few building of interest, they tended to not be lit up from the back, so in the dark it was impossible to see them, so it was almost 2.5 hours cruising on the dark. Not being able to see whatever the commentary was pointing out ( and the commentary was very good ) was really not a great experience at all. I think this evening cruise is one to do in warmer weathers and lighter evenings, where I suspect the experience will be a lot different. Once again thanks to the hosts who were very attentive and welcoming. Read more Written 19 December 2022
  • boomer165 0 contributions 3.0 of 5 bubbles Good food, not much to look at outside. The meal was good. The cabin was a bit chilly and the heater was supposedly at the HOT setting. Disappointed with the absence of normal night and holiday lighting. We saw some holiday lighting in condos and apartments. Thought there would have been more. The ride is much better during the daylight hours. Disappointed at the inability to cancel the booking after it had been made. Read more Written 5 December 2022
  • mihailserafim 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Good activity to learn about the city and eat some good food The staff was very friendly, the audio guide is good, even though a bit low in volume at times, the atmosphere is pleasant and last but not least the food is delicious and in good quantity. • AnabellaT 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Pleasant cruise Pleasant cruise. The food was fine, a glass of Prosecco, the entree was a weird combination of apple, cucumber and potatoes. The main was pork, carrots and mashed potatoes. The dessert was a vanilla custard. The tables have a lamp each, you choose to turn on or keep off. If you turn it on, it's too bright and you can't see outside the boat. The narration is first on German and then it repeats on English. There is a lot of background noise from all the conversation going on (like a restaurant) and you can't really make out what the narrations is saying. Maybe headsets would be better? • anthonydowsett 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Great Cruise and Value This was excellent value for money. Around 50 euros each. You had a lovely boat, with only 12 tables, so not busy. The staff were very attentative and great service. The cruise lasted a good 2.5 hrs, and with great commentary. The food was very good. It certainly wasn't gourmet, but traditional German with a veg soup, followed by a beef stew. It was all very delicious and just the right size portions. Bottles of wine were excellent value at 20 Euro's for a litre bottle!! This was a great way to see a different side of Berlin and higly recommended! Read more Written 28 August 2022
  • brianhK8571OE 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Enjoyable evening cruising around Went with my family, including 22 & 15 y/old. Boat not too big, 12-14 tables, which makes for better setting compared to overcrowded mass-market boats (like Paris). Food and drink good German traditional fare, not flash, but nicely cooked and tasty. Effective selection of drinks. Good running commentary on some faboulus sights as we passed, which was appreciated. And great, attentive table service. Put it all together and it was a most enjoyable, well-priced couple of hours. If you're looking for Corden bleu, silver service then be prepared to pay more elsewhere. if you want a great setting for family and friends, on a family run boat who make the effort to ensure you have a great time, fully recommend. After a very busy day on our feet sight seeing, this was a very welcome treat! From the welcome aboard, the fantastic meal and service and the accompanying narration, we found this a most relaxing and enjoyable cruise along the River Spree. Well done! We got to see all the monuments, churches, bridges during the day and then coming back to the pier during the night. Very well described in good English with lots of information. Dinner was very good, service was excellent. It was not crowded so we had a well located forward table in the salon for dinner and a perfect spot on the second floor to enjoy the breeze, the sunset and the city. Very recommendable.

Beautiful city tour on the Spree river.Delicious dinner.Nice view of the sights of the city. For visitors to Berlin is recommended

The cruise was nice and the food was good, needed better air-conditioning on board as it's very hot

This is a dine out of your life time. The food is great and the boat ride out on the river is one of a kind.

It was a super treat. The food was good evn our fussy teenagers enjoyed it. The portion for our 12 year old was a little small.. The food service was a bit slow. Although, overall, the trip was good, it was a bit frustrating that other diners talked over the commentary a bit rude! Perhaps the crew could have intervened?

We booked this trip for our friends birthday celebration. On boarding this lovely boat we were seated in a lovely window table. After waiting 30mins we called a waiter to ask if it was possible to get the first of our two free drinks we waited another 10mins for this drink. We realised then that there were only two serving on this trip for around 100 people. On taking our food order we were given the choice of 4 main courses but we were then informed that our choice of the pork dish had run out!!!! We ordered 2 chicken and 2 fish. The one chicken was raw in the middle so inedible and the taglitelle was cold!!! We waited a stupid amount of time to get the attention of the waiter and he never came back. My friends husband also ordered a further beer which he never got either. We had only just finished our dessert as we arrived back to start of trip. It was a very disappointing trip as we couldn't hear the commentary either. Spoilt the evening. After disembarking we had to go and by further food due to us still being hungry. I look forward to any comments on this matter and would not recommend this trip. We were not the only disappointed people!!!

really enjoyed the trip and all the staff were so kind and helpful.would defianately go again.

  • Heidi H 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles A lovely cruise This was lovely, it was summer Solstice and there was music and celebration along the banks of the river. The recorded tour information was good although a little hard to hear if we were under a bridge. The serving staff were charming, food ok - stand out was the dessert. But nothing can compare to the fantastic landscape. I took hundreds of photos. Just beautiful. Read more Written June 22, 2023

Read more Written August 28, 2022
From Berlin to Prague: Cruise on the Elbe and Vltava Rivers (port-to-port cruise)

They mostly succeeded in accommodating me as the only english speaker on March-April 2019 cruise. Slightly disappointed by the itinerary - We cruised during daytime hours on at least 3 days; The Berlin excursion was terrible (too few stops, not enough time). Hoped for more regional cuisine. The boat itself was awesome and the staff was terrific, although one person on the cruise director's team snapped at a guest in Prague (he was frustrated with the tour guide and took it out on the guest). Got a great tip from the cruise director about an alternate excursion that he figured (correctly) would be to my liking.
