Residential School Trips

Residential school trips are a great way for students to develop confidence and independence. Visiting new locations and staying away from home will help pupils gain skills, knowledge and life experience that will help them excel inside and outside of the classroom!

Here at NST, we're dedicated to providing residential school trips that nurture the academic and personal growth of students. Whether you want to stay in the UK or venture overseas, we have a selection of residential trips to suit your exact needs.

The benefits of residential school trips for students

Residential school trips provide a wealth of benefits for both primary and secondary school students. This includes:

• Building self-confidence and independence - Students get to experience different environments, giving them the opportunity to do things that they otherwise might not have the courage to try.

• Improving academic performance - Taking part in hands-on learning activities gives students the chance to expand their knowledge in alternative ways. This can boost academic performance for those who struggle with classroom learning.

• Physical development - Trips to outdoor adventure centres often involve a lot of physical activity, allowing students to try out new sports and stay active. This aids fitness performance while also encouraging sportsmanship and teamwork.

Types of residential trips for schools

NST provides an array of residential trips suitable for KS1 and KS2 students. If you're considering a UK school trip, we offer a range of packages to trip destinations such as London, York, Edinburgh and the Isle of Wight. You'll be able to teach students about the UK's rich history and cultural landmarks, as well as taking part in exciting activities like ice-skating, bowling and sightseeing!

If you'd rather venture overseas, we have a selection of enriching residential trips to popular destinations throughout Europe. Whether it's visiting the Eiffel Tower in Paris or taking in the majestic landscape of Lake Garda, your students will be able to immerse themselves in new environments and mix with the locals. This can help students gain a deeper understanding of different cultures and lifestyles, whilst improving their language skills, critical thinking and problem-solving.

Why book a residential trip with us?

Our residential school trips are designed to educate and inspire through exploration, teamwork and fun! From hands-on learning workshops to unforgettable sightseeing tours, there's never a dull moment when you book a school trip with NST. We've been planning residential trips for school groups across the UK for decades. So, there's no request we can't accommodate for.

You'll have our support from the minute you get in touch, as well as throughout your trip and when you get back home. We'll assign you a dedicated NST contact for the entire experience. Whilst you're away, you'll also have unlimited support from our specialist reps - they'll be your local experts and you can get in touch with them 24/7.

Why should you consider the uk for your next school trip, unrivalled history and culture.

The UK has such a fascinating history and rich culture – those of us who live here often forget how lucky we are in this regard!

Head on an educational school trip to Stratford-Upon-Avon to learn about the Tudors and Elizabethan England, or York to learn more about the history of crime and punishment. Or visit to one of the big cities, such as London, Liverpool and Manchester to find out what life was like on the home front during WW2.

Or, your group could head to Glasgow for some of the UK’s premier art museums. In Cornwall, you could experience artists’ studios and in Bristol enjoy a street art walking tour. And in Manchester, your pupils can find out how industrial cityscapes have influenced local artists.

Unforgettable experiences

Have you been asked to arrange a school trip that will offer your group opportunities to enjoy activities or experiences that wouldn’t be provided in a normal week?

We have residential trips that are perfect for both secondary and primary school groups.

You can choose from a great variety of destinations, including Yorkshire, the Peak District, Cornwall, the Lake District and the West Midlands. And you can choose from an incredible variety of activities and experiences, from snowsports, water sports and adventure sports to shelter building, visiting a theme park or exploring a medieval castle.

Incredible landscapes

Here in the UK, we’re incredibly lucky to have some spectacular scenery right on our doorstep.

You could explore coastal landscapes and sustainability on a geography-focused visit to Cornwall. Or perhaps try the vast moorland and deep dales of the North York Moors. Or how about heading to the Yorkshire Dales to see the effects of hydrology on the landscape?

There are plenty of fantastic destinations that will benefit pupils by getting outside, having fun, and boosting learning all at the same time.

Kenilworth Castle's history dates back over 900 years, from Norman times right through to the Tudor period and beyond. It's a wonderful example of a semi-royal castle of the late middle ages and was famously the scene of the 6-month long Siege of Kenilworth in 1266. The castle was also the scene of the removal of Edward II from the English throne. Queen Elizabeth I was a guest here of the Earl of Leicester in 1575, where he attempted to impress her enough that she would marry him. Although it was an exceptionally lavish visit, with no expense spared, Queen Elizabeth remained unconvinced.

Secondary School Trips

We know that it is important to get students out of their comfort zones. At Rock UK we tailor secondary school trips to include challenging outdoor education activities which help boost self-esteem.

A visit to one of our activity centres can cover many areas of the curriculum through outdoor learning including; PHSE, SMSC, maths, geography, science, RE and many more. Together we will tailor your experience to meet your learning outcomes, whether you come for a day visit or stay for a full week. Our aim is that students return to the classroom instilled with a sense of achievement and empowered to want to achieve more with a new appreciation for learning.

From team building fresher trips in Year Seven to exam Revision Retreats in Year Eleven, Rock UK centres across the country are ideal for secondary schools.

College & University Trips

Whether it’s getting to know your fellow students on a fresher’s week away, you’re planning a Christian Union house party and need a venue, or you’re looking for somewhere to host your team building session for a group of trainee doctors or business students, we have a venue that will suit your needs. You can choose an overnight residential stay or just come for the day.

We have group accommodation for 6 to 234 people depending on the centre you choose and there are various sized meeting rooms available. Not forgetting over 40 instructor led activities to break up the day, including an excellent range of team building challenges for all ages.

Revision retreats can make an enormous difference to students

Revision Retreats

Rock UK centres provide the perfect venues for your revision retreats. Revision breaks are a great way of focusing students, encouraging strong study skills going forward and reducing stress at a time when students need it most.

Your students can spend time working in teacher led sessions, on group revision tasks as well as private study time. All this in the peace and tranquillity of our beautiful sites. At home students are surrounded by distractions: television, games consoles, computers and much more.

Coming away to our sites for focused revision time can make an enormous difference to students and foster great study skills when they do return home. Combined with a schedule of active sessions students are rewarded for their hard work and encouraged to study harder. Not only does activity provide the perfect respite for a tired mind but also reduces stress. Sample revision breaks programme and prices

Our activity centres have group accommodation from 6 to 234 and this makes it possible for home school networks, of whatever size, to come together and benefit from outdoor education.

We offer over 40 instructed activities across our four nationwide centres and we’ll work with your home schooling network to tailor a programme ideally suited to your group’s individual needs.

Abseiling

The tower is over 10 metres high. The task – to walk backwards off the top, gradually working back towards ground level, suspended only on a rope. It’s all about trust, courage and confidence. It’s also a very dynamic way to learn calculating and controlling risk. Some children deal with heights more easily than others, but the support and encouragement of the rest of the group is important for each individual’s success and will help strengthen peer relationships.

Aeroball / Airball

Aeroball / Airball

A cross between trampolining, basketball and volleyball - it’s an exhilarating, high-energy sport. Four players learn the basics required - then spring into action! The aim is to get the ball in the opposing player's net. As well as being lots of fun, your group will develop team tactics and improve communication skills along the way.

All Aboard

All aboard is all about building trust and strengthening peer relationships – at the top of a 6 metre pole! Teams of up to four pupils scale the pole to reach the small platform at the top. Balancing on the platform becomes more difficult as more team members arrive to share the space. The challenge is to cooperate and support each other. The task is complete when all four team members successfully stand together at the top of the pole. Weight limit: 150kg

Aqua Park

Our inflatable obstacle assault course, situated atop our very own on-centre lake will be sure to challenge your group as they attempt to make their way across without getting wet...who are we kidding, it's all about getting soaked! Available May to October, exclusive to Newby Wiske Hall

Have a splash with inflatable fun in the pool

Archery

Our Archery sessions offer the chance for every pupil to experience success. Accuracy, control and a steady hand are vital for achieving the best results and many children discover a talent for a new skill. Handling bows and arrows may be a brand new experience for your group and presents a variety of new challenges! We encourage safety awareness from the outset and teach the basic skills on an indoor or outdoor range.

Archery Tag

Archery Tag

Let the battle commence! Archery with a twist - you are aiming for each other! In this game of skill and teamwork you are equipped with foam tipped arrows to battle it out in action packed games. If appropriate to your choice of course, there are various practical tasks that you can carry out during your walk. There are opportunities to examine coastal features, compare local beach profiles and begin to explore marine ecology. *Exclusive to Bawdsey Manor*

Bodyboarding

Bodyboarding

Bodyboarding is a great way to introduce your pupils to surfing as it requires many of the same skills, but does not demand that the beginner manoeuvres a large surfboard. A body board is small and light and easier to handle; your pupils will learn how to catch, ride and enjoy the waves in the surfing environment. The perfect introduction to a very popular sport!

Bridge Abseil

Bridge Abseil

New and exclusive to Ford Castle! The ultimate abseil experience! An exhilarating and unique Bridge Abseiling activity from the top of the bridge into the stunning valley below. This is sure to be an experience to remember for everyone! Watch pupils' courage, self-belief and confidence build as they walk backwards off the top, gradually working back towards ground level, suspended only on a rope. Some young people deal with heights more easily than others, but the support and encouragement of the rest of the group is important for each individual’s success and will help strengthen peer relationships.

Burn Walk

Groups explore a nearby burn, waterfall and a dam and learn about the impact of erosion, water filtration and the flora and fauna of the burn environment. On their way along the burn, groups participate in a number of activities designed to encourage communication, teamwork and leadership. The session ends with a review of what has been learnt and what the group will take back home with them from the experience. *Exclusive to PGL Dalguise*

Canoeing

Canoeing is exciting, challenging and fun. It’s also a great opportunity for students to learn new skills such as paddling and steering in order to control their craft effectively. Communication skills also play a part as students work together and encourage each other.

Challenge Course

Challenge Course

The PGL Challenge Course is legendary – it’s a well-loved and popular activity with plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved; it can even get quite competitive sometimes! As your pupils negotiate the various obstacles that lie ahead, it’s an experience that will promote teamwork, lateral thinking, problem solving and decision-making – as well as being physically challenging too.

Climbing

Your pupils will need to combine different skills including perseverance, strength, an ability to deal with heights – as well as trust in their belay partner and equipment. Those who have never tried it before will find it an exhilarating experience. Climbing at PGL may take place on indoor walls or outdoor climbing towers; whichever it is, we always use a top-rope belay for safety. Weight limit: 140kg

Crate Climb

Crate Climb

The crate challenge is a test of innovative thinking, construction, balance, courage – and above all effective teamwork. Your pupils’ activity group is divided into two teams that compete against each other to build the tallest tower of crates. With two pupils standing on top as the tower grows, each team has to come up with ever more innovative ways of getting more crates to the top, as the pair on top become more and more precariously balanced! Weight limit: 150kg

Disc Golf

Your group will love trying their hand at this exciting, fast-paced sport in the great outdoors! A flying disc sport, players will take it in turns to throw a frisbee disc at a target as they make their way across a 9-holed disc course! The perfect introduction to both frisbee and golf, Disc Golf is the ideal way to incite a little healthy competition amongst groups!

Dragon Boating

Dragon Boating

Manoeuvring and racing a dragon boat demands good coordination and communication of a large team - as many as 24 pupils learn to paddle rhythmically and effectively together in a race across the water. Ultimate success depends on tactics, technique and brute effort - but in the end there are no losers– just a lot of fun, laughter and mutual support along the way.

Fencing

Fencing is a great workout for both body and brain. It’s challenging, exciting and involves good eye-to-hand coordination, fast footwork, lightning reflexes and even quicker decision-making. It’s a sport that offers huge potential for the enthusiast to learn more and progress at club level, but it’s also accessible and great fun for beginners too. Our qualified instructors will teach your pupils the basic principles and safety procedures before they progress onto outwitting their opponent in this great Olympic sport.

Forest Walk

Forest Walk

Our staff lead a walk into the forest around the centre to discover the natural environment through activities, set tasks and games that will help your pupils get the most from their experience.

Giant Stand Up Paddleboard

Giant Stand Up Paddleboard

The giant stand up paddleboard is a fun and relaxing way for your students to enjoy being on the water. It's a great activity for building confidence on a board through teamwork, balance and coordination. Available May to October.

Giant Swing

Giant Swing

The ultimate test of nerve and joint decision-making. Two or three of your students are harnessed into the swing, while other members of the group haul them up to 10 metres into the air. After the group in the swing decide together how high they want to go, a pull on the ripcord will send them plummeting earthward. It’s a fast and exhilarating drop, but good communication will get the right balance between fear and fun! Weight limit: 150kg

High Ropes Course

High Ropes Course

The high ropes activity is designed to help your pupils improve levels of trust and co-operation amongst themselves. Essentially it’s an individual challenge course involving balance, passing obstacles and holding your nerve, because the whole event takes place 12 metres (40 feet) above the ground. The encouragement that comes from the rest of the group can make all the difference to their success – so the challenge is ideal for promoting teamwork and the value of mutual support. Weight limit: 150kg

Hike

Your pupils can discover the natural beauty of the local surroundings around their PGL centre on a hike led by our staff. We’ll organise activities and set tasks to help your pupils get the most from the experience.

Jacob’s Ladder

Jacob’s Ladder

It’s an exercise in teamwork and friendly cooperation. Your group’s objective, in teams of three, is to climb to the top of a suspended ladder of logs. The gaps between each log become wider, the higher you go. Pushing up, pulling up, standing on shoulders – it’s all about working together to achieve a joint purpose. The activity promotes friendship, communication, discussion, leadership and decision-making as each team progresses to the top. Weight limit: 150kg

Kayaking

Kayaking is a great way for your pupils to explore our lakes and rivers and it remains one of our most popular activities. Our instructors will help your pupils get started, teach them the basics and then help them to push the boundaries of what they can achieve. There are games and individual challenges to improve teamwork, communication and confidence on the water.

Keelboat Sailing

Keelboat Sailing

Learning the basics of sailing a larger dinghy is a rewarding experience, taking your pupils out of their normal environment and introducing a new set of skills. They’ll learn how (and when and why) to raise and lower the sails, and the importance of the keel that gives the boat its name. Our instructors are RYA qualified and will ensure your pupils get some hands-on experience; steering the boat and getting to grips with all the basic techniques required.

Laser 360

Introducing Laser 360; an exhilarating team event that’s easy to pick up, and much harder to step away from! Equipped with their very own laser gun and vest, groups will separate into two teams (Red vs green) where they’ll battle it out via a selection of tactical games. Combining team tactics, agility, communication, and determination, each team will work together to claim their spot as Laser 360 champions.

Laser Tag

The wide-open landscapes at our adventure centres offer the ultimate backdrop to a team laser tag battle. Working in teams, your group will head off equipped with their own laser gun and vest. They'll develop team tactics, communication skills, and a steady hand as they duel to come out the triumphant team!

Micro Scooter

Micro Scooter

Watch on as your pupils hop aboard our marvellous Micro Scooters and whizz around with friends as part of this action-packed activity session. Groups will be shown how to manoeuvre safely as they spend time getting comfortable with their scooter, before participating in a series of exciting team games and challenges to help develop confidence and competence... along with those all-important coordination skills!

Orienteering

Orienteering

Orienteering makes an excellent introduction to practical map-reading and is an exciting way to get to know your surroundings on centre. Pupils work in small teams or in pairs to locate control points across the grounds of the centre. As it’s essentially a competitive activity, the idea is for your group to find all the controls more quickly than the others. The activity helps them to improve decision-making, map reading and correctly judging distances.

Problem Solving

Problem Solving

Problem solving sessions test your pupils’ initiative and ingenuity. Children work in small teams to solve puzzles and complete set tasks - it’s a great way for your pupils to get to know each other really well. By the time they finish they’ll have an appreciation and understanding each individual’s ability (including their own!) when it comes to planning, communicating and making decisions – skills which are all key to achieving the objectives of each task.

Quick Jump

Attached to a harness, step into the air and enjoy the adrenaline rush of free falling until a giant fan sweeps you into flying mode, bringing you gently to land! *Exclusive to Newby Wiske Hall

Raft Building

Raft Building

Down to the water’s edge and your pupils’ challenge is to design and build a robust and working raft. There’ll be a number of components available, including large plastic barrels, ropes and poles. Our staff can give as much or as little support as you’d like but it’s a great teamwork exercise and will help your pupils improve their communication, problem-solving and decision-making. Once rafts are ready to launch, the fun begins on the water!

Rifle Shooting

Rifle Shooting

Shooting our lightweight air rifles tests individual skill and requires high levels of concentration and physical control. Children need to control their breathing, keep a steady hand, concentrate hard and focus on accuracy. Do all this, and there’s a good chance of being rewarded with the success of a good score!

River Bivouac

River Bivouac

The river ‘bivvy’ is an amazing chance for your pupils to get close to nature and experience a night sleeping outdoors. Having reached the end of their first day’s canoeing down the Ardèche, they build a basic overnight camp on the beach by the river. During the evening, they’ll enjoy an evening meal at camp and after some evening entertainment, it’s finally time to bed down under the stars and re-charge for another thrilling day ahead.

What’s more adventurous than building a raft and testing it on the river? Well that’s what happens on our River Raft Challenge. It’s a great activity that promotes teamwork in your group as they work together to design a successful raft to compete with others. *Exclusive to Ford Castle

Sensory Trail

Sensory Trail

The sensory trail is a challenge in more ways than one. During the activity your pupils will negotiate a series of obstacles – blindfolded – with the other members of their group for guidance. It’s a challenge, which raises questions about our abilities and assumptions, and demands mutual trust, self belief, and effective communication to complete the course successfully.

Stand Up Paddleboard

Stand Up Paddleboard

SUP is a fun and relaxing way for kids to enjoy the water, build confidence on a board, and learn a new skill - this activity has quickly become a favourite!

Street Surfing

Street Surfing

It doesn’t take long for your pupils to master the art of Street Surfing and experience a great sense of achievement, which is a wonderful confidence booster. Although the equipment and technique are entirely different, street surfing does resemble skateboarding a little. The technique is said to be a combination of snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing and it’s increasingly used in training for snowboarders and surfers.

Surfing

Available at our main centre for surfing, Beam House, it’s a superb location close to the North Devon coast. Your group can learn all the basics with us - how to walk out into the sea through the waves with their boards, how to catch a wave. And having caught their wave, it’s all about acquiring the skill to stand up and surf back to the shore!

Survivor

Once the ‘wilderness’ scenario is set, your pupils need to develop effective teamwork to build their shelter. Basic navigational skills and meteorological skills help them decide the layout of the site. They will have to identify and share out the key responsibilities for getting each task completed, and communicate well to get the most from the project. Work as a team to build a wilderness shelter on centre, and learn how to stay warm and dry using whatever you can find. You’ll need to plan your camp taking into account the prevailing weather and then share out the tasks to get the shelter built before time runs out...

Swimming

Have a splash in our heated pool. Enjoy fun and games in and out of the water, under the supervision of a PGL Lifeguard

Tarka Trail Walk

Tarka Trail Walk

Trapeze

Each stage of the trapeze counts as a success and requires courage and determination. The challenge starts with a climb to the top of a 6 metre pole. Next, a climb onto the small platform will require balance as pupils stand to make that leap for the trapeze! It’s an exhilarating and heart-pounding activity that will bring your pupils together in their support for each other. It also gives each participant a very real sense of personal achievement. Weight limit: 150kg

Traverse elements

Traverse elements

An activity to test skills any cat would find easy! For your pupils, though, there are some thrilling challenges involved to test balance, skill and courage. After a climb to the top of a telegraph pole, individuals will need determination to tackle the series of beams and wires that lie ahead. For those watching, they’ll offer support and encouragement from the ground as they grow stronger as a team and learn to appreciate each other’s efforts.

Treeclimb

Our qualified instructors help students to recognise and control the risks and then teach the basic skills and techniques needed for them to complete their climb into the treetops! Weight limit: 150kg

Treetop Adventure

Treetop Adventure

Delivered by one of our trusted suppliers. On this treetop adventure, you will make your way across elevated platforms, obstacles, bridges and swings on this exciting high ropes course through the forest.

Tunnel Trail

Tunnel Trail

On their own or in small groups, your pupils can discover a series of underground tunnels. The tunnels vary in size and they have various tasks to carry out during their exploration. Completing the tasks will improve pupils’ self-confidence, problem-solving skills and teamwork. Please note this activity will only be available between May and September at some centres due to weather.

Vertical Challenge

Vertical Challenge

Vertical challenge offers a chance to use all those skills you would use in any ground-based challenge course – but it all takes place at height! Your pupils will be harnessed and instructed on how to belay each other. They make their way up a course of suspended obstacles that include climbing walls, cargo nets, crates and ropes. The Vertical Challenge develops physical skills as well as transferable skills including climbing, communication, cooperation and lots of group support. Weight limit: 150kg

Zip Wire

Once at the top of the zip wire platform, pupils are securely attached to the overhead wire before making their flight across the sky! Their route may take them through a forest or even over a lake. It’s a hugely exhilarating experience that requires personal courage and determination – it pushes most children beyond their natural comfort zone. It’s also a chance for the rest of the group to offer support and encouragement. Weight limit: 90-120kg (varies by location)

Ambush

If you love hide and seek, you’ll adore Ambush which takes this popular group game and ramps it up an extra notch! After sundown your group will split into small teams, with one team hiding within the centre grounds, leaving a trail for their competitors to follow. Great for developing strategic and team building skills. Ambush is usually run in the dark, and torches are advised. Available September to March

Balloon Splash

Balloon Splash

Each team completes a series of challenges or games to earn coins that will allow them to purchase items from a mystery box! Teams will then work closely together to create the best contraption to protect their water balloon from destruction.

Campfire

Get hands-on constructing your campfire during the day, and it will be lit ready for you to enjoy in the evening. Compliance status

We firmly believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone, and are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstance and ability.

To fulfill this, we aim to adhere as strictly as possible to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities. Complying with those guidelines helps us ensure that the website is accessible to all people: blind people, people with motor impairments, visual impairment, cognitive disabilities, and more.

This website utilizes various technologies that are meant to make it as accessible as possible at all times. We utilize an accessibility interface that allows persons with specific disabilities to adjust the website’s UI (user interface) and design it to their personal needs.

Additionally, the website utilizes an AI-based application that runs in the background and optimizes its accessibility level constantly. This application remediates the website’s HTML, adapts Its functionality and behavior for screen-readers used by the blind users, and for keyboard functions used by individuals with motor impairments.

If you’ve found a malfunction or have ideas for improvement, we’ll be happy to hear from you. You can reach out to the website’s operators by using the following email

Screen-reader and keyboard navigation

Our website implements the ARIA attributes (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) technique, alongside various different behavioral changes, to ensure blind users visiting with screen-readers are able to read, comprehend, and enjoy the website’s functions. As soon as a user with a screen-reader enters your site, they immediately receive a prompt to enter the Screen-Reader Profile so they can browse and operate your site effectively. Here’s how our website covers some of the most important screen-reader requirements, alongside console screenshots of code examples:

Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide accurate form labels; descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups), and others. Additionally, the background process scans all of the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based description as an ALT (alternate text) tag for images that are not described. It will also extract texts that are embedded within the image, using an OCR (optical character recognition) technology. To turn on screen-reader adjustments at any time, users need only to press the Alt+1 keyboard combination. Screen-reader users also get automatic announcements to turn the Screen-reader mode on as soon as they enter the website.

These adjustments are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.

Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the website’s HTML, and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside of it.

Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

Disability profiles supported in our website

  • Epilepsy Safe Mode: this profile enables people with epilepsy to use the website safely by eliminating the risk of seizures that result from flashing or blinking animations and risky color combinations.
  • Visually Impaired Mode: this mode adjusts the website for the convenience of users with visual impairments such as Degrading Eyesight, Tunnel Vision, Cataract, Glaucoma, and others.
  • Cognitive Disability Mode: this mode provides different assistive options to help users with cognitive impairments such as Dyslexia, Autism, CVA, and others, to focus on the essential elements of the website more easily.
  • ADHD Friendly Mode: this mode helps users with ADHD and Neurodevelopmental disorders to read, browse, and focus on the main website elements more easily while significantly reducing distractions.
  • Blindness Mode: this mode configures the website to be compatible with screen-readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. A screen-reader is software for blind users that is installed on a computer and smartphone, and websites must be compatible with it.
  • Keyboard Navigation Profile (Motor-Impaired): this profile enables motor-impaired persons to operate the website using the keyboard Tab, Shift+Tab, and the Enter keys. Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

Additional UI, design, and readability adjustments

  • Font adjustments – users, can increase and decrease its size, change its family (type), adjust the spacing, alignment, line height, and more.
  • Color adjustments – users can select various color contrast profiles such as light, dark, inverted, and monochrome. Additionally, users can swap color schemes of titles, texts, and backgrounds, with over 7 different coloring options.
  • Animations – epileptic users can stop all running animations with the click of a button. Animations controlled by the interface include videos, GIFs, and CSS flashing transitions.
  • Content highlighting – users can choose to emphasize important elements such as links and titles. They can also choose to highlight focused or hovered elements only.
  • Audio muting – users with hearing devices may experience headaches or other issues due to automatic audio playing. This option lets users mute the entire website instantly.
  • Cognitive disorders – we utilize a search engine that is linked to Wikipedia and Wiktionary, allowing people with cognitive disorders to decipher meanings of phrases, initials, slang, and others.
  • Additional functions – we provide users the option to change cursor color and size, use a printing mode, enable a virtual keyboard, and many other functions.

Browser and assistive technology compatibility

We aim to support the widest array of browsers and assistive technologies as possible, so our users can choose the best fitting tools for them, with as few limitations as possible. Therefore, we have worked very hard to be able to support all major systems that comprise over 95% of the user market share including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera and Microsoft Edge, JAWS and NVDA (screen readers), both for Windows and for MAC users.

Notes, comments, and feedback

Despite our very best efforts to allow anybody to adjust the website to their needs, there may still be pages or sections that are not fully accessible, are in the process of becoming accessible, or are lacking an adequate technological solution to make them accessible. Still, we are continually improving our accessibility, adding, updating and improving its options and features, and developing and adopting new technologies. All this is meant to reach the optimal level of accessibility, following technological advancements. For any assistance, please reach out to

The activities were good fun and run by experienced staff. Everything felt safe and well organised. The children enjoyed the food.

Great food, staff activities and always guaranteed a brilliant week. We have been for years and love every moment. This year has been one of our best experiences here.

Any enquiries sent to Green Park were responded to in an extremely timely manner. The activities, instructors and food were amazing and the accommodation was just right.

The experience was great. The staff were helpful, friendly and encouraging. The activities were fun. I would definitely recommend Kingswood. The 3G swing, leap of faith and obstacle course were the best bits. It exceeded expectations.

We were very impressed with the centre, particularly the flexibility of the staff, the level of communication before the trip and the genuine concern that we would have a positive and valuable experience both before and during our stay. The centre itself was great - clean and well looked after. We were very impressed with the on-duty night staff and the ease of contacting them.

It was such an amazing weekend with lovely staff who were very accommodating. All the activities were very enjoyable and good fun. Very helpful with all the requests made about the weekend and it was amazing that all the activities were well planned.

This has been our best visit so far, the staff were amazing, food great & the activities well planned & exciting.  The new improvements such as Quick Zip were a great addition.

The trainers were absolutely epic right from the start. They were over the top with energy and motivation. They made me feel welcome and they were positive the whole time I was there.

Our son had an amazing time and having looked at his booklet he brought home we could clearly see what he had done and achieved for himself.

Very well organised trip with staff members going above and beyond to try and solve problems. The activities met our expectations and incidents were recorded and sorted like expected.
