Jack Morris is a 30 year old British photographer, model, travel instagrammer and photographic app developer from Rivington, England. He has spent the past few years traversing the planet, proving that you really can earn a respectable living doing exactly what you love.

For Jack, that meant creating a popular IG channel called  Do You Travel?  where he is seen visiting exotic locations, staying in elevated accommodations, taking epic pictures, and getting paid by luxury brands to go along for the ride.

We’ve all known the perfect “power couple”, but what happens when your favorite pair decide to part ways?

Fans of Jack have come to know him as the perfect partner to Aussie Instagrammer, Lauren Bullen, having followed their dreamy love affair for the past five years. But like a steamy Telenovela that swaps lovers like seasonal decor, so too go the dreamy Instagram couples that fill our daily feeds. In this case, it’s Jack and Lauren that have called it “quits”.

Since their break-up last March, Jack has managed to stay busy as a solo voyager. He has visited incredible destinations like Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Spain and Mexico with a comforting and long-overdue stop in his hometown of Rivington to visit his mum and dad.

Where does your passion for travel and adventure come from?

Lauren: “My passion for traveling began when I was a teenager – I went on my first big trip to Europe with my family, then during high school I always dreamt of traveling the rest world. Most kids had goals to go to university and learn a profession – for me my ambition was to see the world. I was never interested in a particular profession, which I always doubted myself for. However, now being in the position I am in, I realise it has all worked out for a reason and it couldn’t have planned out any better!”

How did your journeys start?

Lauren:  “My instagram journey began due to my twin sister  – she started an Instagram account dedicated to her passion for health and nutrition which she was studying and it shed a little light on the potential of Instagram. Around the same time I was off on a three month trip to USA and Canada with my best friend, so I got my first proper camera and loved taking pictures and learning how to edit them. I started following many travel repost accounts and my goal was to get reposted (didn’t happen) but as soon as I got back I went to Asia for another few months and I began to grow a small following of 2000. After this when I had no more money I went back to Australia, I didn’t want my adventures to end so moved to Cairns (North Queensland) where I spent every spare moment exploring the Great Barrier Reef and the surrounding waterfalls. I learnt so much about photography and it was the local tourism board there that first picked me up for a job, so I guess this was the real beginning for me, when I realised I could live my dream and be paid to travel!”

Where did you meet?

Lauren: “Jack and I met in Fiji on an Instagram job with the tourism board!”

How did you turn traveling into a full time job?

Lauren: “I turned Instagram into a full time job by having a small following and being able to create something unique that brands began to pick up on and pay me to visit locations or promote brands!”

What advice would you give someone who is thinking of going traveling?

Lauren: “My advice to someone thinking of going traveling is to go with an open mind and open heart. Go to a destination that desires you, give yourself a little extra time to be able to enjoy and relax. For your first trips I would go with a bit of a plan to prevent the stress that can come with being in a foreign place and things not working out! Go with your best friend and be open to any opportunities!”

What are your suitcase essentials?

Lauren: “Suitcase essentials; lots of bikinis! Travel adaptor – I have a worldwide one that can adapt to any country and has Power and USB ports. And good headphones for those long journeys! Two different bank cards/credit cards – I have my regular bank account from home and then have a second bank account that is my “travel” one, which I send over a safe amount of money and only access this account from overseas.  It has no international currency exchange fees or ATM fees and it’s been the biggest money saver for me! And it’s great to have two accounts so you have backup if you ever lose a bank card!”

What’s your favorite Instagram picture?

Lauren: “My fav Instagram picture is the breakfast with giraffes in Kenya. Jack surprised me with the trip for my recent birthday in April 17.”

Where should everyone visit?

Lauren: “Everyone should visit Bali! I love Bali for many reasons, I think there’s something to appeal to everyone, it has beautiful delicious cafes, it’s inexpensive, culturally diverse, has amazing beaches, incredible waterfalls up near Ubud and the hustle bustle of Kuta/Legian/Seminyak is great!”

What’s the best experience you’ve ever had traveling?

Lauren: “Best experience would be my trip to Kenya, between the giraffe hotel to staying at safaris and seeing all my favorite animals, was like a childhood dream come true. I LOVED the iconic Lion King and it was like it was coming to life! Another amazing trip was India with the beautiful destinations team, the trip put on so many memorable moments, and of course French Polynesia, swimming with sting rays and sharks!”

You now call Bali home – what made you decide to settle there?

Lauren + Jack: “Bali is where we spend a lot of time, like a holiday home! We all round love it there, it’s easy going, we can eat really healthy, meet so many likeminded people, it’s also the second place we went to together, and it’s where our relationship really began!”

How do you spend your time in Bali?

Lauren + Jack: “Most days our day looks like the following; wake up and head to the gym, make dragonfruit smoothies for breakfast, catch up on some emails, head to the beach for a swim/walk, head to our fav cafe Peloton for lunch, maybe take a photo somewhere, lay by our villa pool, and usually finish the day by getting dinner either delivered from our fav cafe or cooking up something healthy and fresh from the local market!”

What camera and equipment do you use?

Lauren + Jack: “We use Canon cameras, 5D Mark IV and 1D X for video, a Maverick drone and our fav lenses are 24mm and 35mm.”

What are your top tips for taking stunning vacation photos?

Lauren + Jack: “Take them at either sunrise/sunset or close to when the light is a bit softer. Also try to go at quiet times, usually sunrise is less busy.”

Do you use filters or presets on your images?

Lauren + Jack: “We use our own Lightroom presets which we sell on our website doyoutravelxgypsealust.com ”

Now the couple, who met on a trip to Fiji in March 2016, have shared the secrets to their success – including how they have ended up visiting destinations many of us could only dream of, and getting paid to do so!

Writing on his blog, Jack answered some of the most common questions he gets from readers, such as how he earns a living while travelling the world. "Brand/ tourism boards etc pay me to promote their product or their location on Instagram," he wrote. "I only promote or post about things I truly like or believe in, which is very important to me and why my posts resonate with so many of you."

Recent destinations have included the iconic Giraffe Manor in Kenya, Dubai and the Philippines interspersed with trips back to the new place they have made their home – Bali, Indonesia. The stunning destinations alone would make the perfect Instagram shot, but it is the couple's photography and editing skills that have taken their social media feeds to the next level.

"I edit all my photos in the same kind of style with my own Lightroom presets so I guess they all look somewhat similar because of that," Jack explained. "I also look at the grid and try to plan the next image to make sure it works well with the rest of my recent feed."

The successful blogger has also found that there is an optimum time to take Instagram photos at popular destinations, explaining: "Most of the time we like to shoot around 1 hour after sunrise. Busy locations don't tend to be as busy at this time of day." They also seek out beautiful spots that are off the beaten track that they discover by "word of mouth, Instagram and research on Pinterest".

As for Jack's advice for anyone hoping to follow in their footsteps: "The main thing is to have fun and follow your passion. If you're enjoying what you do it doesn't become a chore and you'll be more likely to succeed."

Jack Morris took a leap of faith five years ago after waking up one morning and deciding he craved an adventure. 

Tired of his monotonous routine as a carpet cleaner in Manchester, UK, the 26-year-old booked a one-way ticket to Bangkok and never looked back. 

'Five years ago I impulsively decided to quit my 9 – 5 job,' he told Daily Mail Australia.

'I basically created it to share my experiences, it wasn't about making money. I didn't expect to make money or for it to blow up. But that created my new career.'

'We were on a beach in Fiji and we pretty much hit it off straight away.'

Jack Morris took a leap of faith five years ago after waking up one morning and deciding he craved an adventure

The 23-year-old embodies the travel, fashion and lifestyle mantra showcasing the most incredible destinations around the world. 

Combining their Instagram blogs, Jack and Lauren have more than 2.5 million followers. 

Jack said in the last nine months since the pair met, Lauren has gained more than 700,000 and he has benefited from more than half a million. 

'I think it was because it was mixing the photography up with Lauren and people enjoy seeing a couple and it works for us,' he said.

Global brands such as Royal Caribbean Cruises, Disney, Air NZ, AirBnB, NRMA insurance and other headlining acts have all approached the duo. 

Lauren even has to turn down fashion brands. 

'She has to turn down a lot of brands, if she wouldn't wear it she won't work with it as she tries to keep it authentic.'

The pair have taken a dip in the pristine waters of Greece, enjoyed the food in Italy and France, taken a stroll on the Great Wall of China, braved the mountains of Kenya and even camped out in vastness of the Sahara desert. 

But their joint favourite location was basking in the aura of the ancient pillar city of Cappadocia in Turkey. 

Jack is now very grateful to be able to do what he loves, as a job, with his new found partner.

'It is almost a dream. Being able to do what I want every day is nice.' 

'It is ideal, I never really expected to find someone I could share this with, so it worked out really well.' 

Jack admitted both of them are perfectionists when it comes to shooting and editing the perfect picture. 

However, the trick to their photography is keeping it as authentic as possible. 

'We try to create a situations that are authentic based around what we do.' 

'For example, Lauren and I woke up in a tree house surrounded by nature this morning and I posted it.

'Basically we are showing people what we do in a way of art. Every photo we post is real.'
