Xoximilco Tour
A mexican party.
Description
Xoximilco is a magical place with an ambiance of party, music and tradition that captures the imagination of everyone who visits by conjuring up memories of Mexico in its golden age.
Decorated with motifs from the 32 States of Mexico, the famous trajineras, a kind of boat that were once used for transporting flowers, fruits and vegetables grown in floating gardens, have become a means of transportation and a cause of joy for all those who come to Xoximilco searching for a unique moment they can only experience here in Cancun, in a modern version of the legendary cruise through the canals, with the colors and the charm of those magical moments we hold dear. Xochimilco, which in nahuatl means "Field of flowers", is defined by a series of water canals that existed since pre-Hispanic times when lakes and lagoons made up almost the entire Valley of Mexico and disappeared with the passing of time. Xoximilco emerges in Cancun as a tribute to the beauty and grandeur of this member of the Cultural Heritage for Humanity list; where you will be able to experience the traditions of central Mexico in a Caribbean Paradise. Under a star-filled sky and with tropical weather, on board a picturesque trajinera decorated with the elements from each state, you will travel through time in a true Mexican fiesta with live music, gastronomy and flowers.

Xochimilco Farm Feast: Exploring the Urban Oasis’s Canals and Gardens

Meet the farmers who keep this unique part of Mexico City alive
Enjoy freshly made dishes that are truly farm-to-table
Explore the tranquil canals of Xochimilco by boat
Taste farm fresh heirloom varieties of unique Mexican produce

AS FEATURED IN
On this full-day tour of Xochimilco, for private groups of seven or more, we will have exclusive access by private boat to family farms, meet the people upholding ancient agricultural traditions and enjoy a rustic feast in a field surrounded by canals and family gardens. The day begins with breakfast, ends with a big lunch and includes snacks along the way.
On this Xochimilco tour, for private groups of seven or more, we’ll explore how this UNESCO heritage site remains relevant to modern Mexico City — as a place for a pleasure cruise to some and a vital agricultural resource to others. We’ll cruise by boat well beyond the tourist zone and into agricultural areas, to learn more about its culture and food and meet the people who maintain its one-of-a-kind agricultural system, called chinampas, which are island plots of farmland between the canals. In a verdant field, surrounded by productive farms edged by tight canals, we will be hosted for a feast to remember by a local farming family.
Our day-long tour starts with coffee and pastries in central Mexico City, before departing by private van for the eco-reserve of Xochimilco. There we will avoid the central canal clogged with touristic boats and head deeper into the reserve where small farms are still being cultivated in ingenious and sustainable ways that have remained unchanged since pre-Columbian times. We’ll follow the cultivation process in a series of visits to different gardens – from the nursery where the soil is laid out and scored in a perfect grid and seeds are planted by hand to the field where young plants grow to maturity. In between stops, we’ll sample fresh produce as we cruise through this unique natural environment. Finally we will arrive at our last stop, a large farm on a tiny canal, where our farmer/host, Juanito, will show us what’s growing in season before we settle in for a multi-course rustic lunch prepared with just picked local produce. Expect flavorful mushroom stew, roast pork, squash, beans, rice and of course, freshly made tortillas. This will be a day in the life of an agricultural and cultural treasure of Mexico City, as few are able to experience it.

8 Best Xochimilco Tours In Mexico City
Looking for the best Xochimilco tours for your upcoming trip?
In our opinion, the Xochimilco floating gardens are an unmissable attraction. Not only are they a historic and unique UNESCO World Heritage site, the gardens also provide an accessible opportunity to experience modern Mexican culture .
Xochimilco (meaning flower garden in Aztec) is best known for its 170 kilometres of serene canals , its colourful garden ‘islands’, traditional trajinera boats , plus its party atmosphere.
However, it is also an important ecological site which is home to many native plants and endemic species, as well as the much-loved axolotl.
We love this area and have visited it several times. That’s why we think it should be on your list of things to do in Mexico City . Each visit has involved something new to see (and eat), and we have had a different experience on each trip. We think an Xochimilco tour will be one of the best day trips from CDMX (alongside these tours : Lucha Libre show and visiting the Teotihuacan Pyramids .)

How To Get To Xochimilco From Mexico City Independently
If you have decided that Xochimilco tours are not for you, you are probably wondering how to get to Xochimilco from Mexico City.
The good news is that there are two options you can try.
Apart from getting there, it is relatively easy to tour Xochimilco independently, and you will have more time to explore other parts of this fascinating area.
We think that Xochimilco has more to offer than just the canals and boat rides. We recommend spending a little longer in this area to visit the Cathedral of San Bernardino de Siena, the fabulous food market and the central flower market.
By public transport
It is possible to take the metro from the centre of Mexico City all the way to Xochimilco. The journey involves changes, and although you are only covering 19 km, it will take a couple of hours each way. However, the journey will be cheap.
Firstly, take the No. 2 Blue Line from Mexico City all the way to the last station, Tasqueña.
From Tasqueña, take the overland light railway (or tram) for 25 minutes to Xochimilco station. From here, it is a 20 – 30 minute walk to the nearest boat dock.
You can also take the No.143 bus from Coyoacán to Xochimilco. It will take between 30 – 60 minutes, depending on traffic.
If you are a confident driver, you can hire a car in CDMX and self-drive to Xochimilco. This will allow you to set your own timetable and spend as long as you like exploring the floating gardens. There is a large, free car park near the docks where you can catch the boats.
Another option is to travel by Uber .
An Uber from Mexico City to Xochimilico will cost anywhere from 200 MXN to 500 MXN, depending on your location in the city centre.
Catching an Uber is a cost-effective way to reach Xochimilco in Mexico City if the cost is shared between a group.
Xochimilco Tours: FAQs
Is Xochimilco worth going to?
Xochimilco is a scenic and historic UNESCO World Heritage site which will give you a different perspective of Mexico City. As it is popular with locals, it will also give you an insight into contemporary Mexican culture. So yes, it is absolutely worth visiting!
In addition to a ride on the canals, you can also visit the Dolores Olmedo Museum (home to the largest collection of Diego Rivera work in the world), the eerie Island of the Dolls and the Archaeological Museum.
If you don’t want to join one of the tours Xochimilco can also be explored independently if you have sufficient time in your schedule.
What are the opening hours at Xochimilco floating gardens?
Xochimilco hours vary according to the season. In summer, Xochimilco opening hours are 9 am to 6 pm. In winter, it is 9 am till 5 pm.
How far is Xochimilco from Mexico City?
If you are travelling to Xochimilco from Mexico City, the journey time is short (depending on traffic) as the two locations are only 19 kilometres / 12 miles apart.
Do you need to book Xochimilco in advance?
You do not need to book the floating gardens of Xochimilco in advance unless you want to join one of the Xochimilco tours.
If you do not book in advance, there will be lots of boats touting for your business once you arrive.
What’s the best time to go to Xochimilco?
When to visit Xochimilco depends on what type of experience you wish to have.
If you want a tranquil, serene float on the canals, visit in the morning or early afternoon on weekdays.
If you want a party or fiesta experience, visit in the late afternoon or at the weekends. Xochimilco is a popular destination with locals, so weekends are the busiest and liveliest time to visit.
How much is a boat ride in Xochimilco?
A boat ride has a set cost of 600 MXN / $35 per boat per hour. This cost is set by the local authorities, so it cannot be negotiated.
This fee is per boat, not per person, so if you want a boat to yourself, it won’t be cheap. However, if you join a boat with 15 other people, the fee is split, and the ride will be very cost-effective.
How much you spend exploring the Xochimilco canals depends on what type of visit you want.
If you bring your own food and drink, don’t buy any souvenirs or pay for any songs; you can enjoy Xochimilco on a budget. However, in our opinion the music, food and drink are part of the experience so we advise bringing some extra cash to spend.
Is Xochimilco a tourist trap?
Xochimilco is known as a lively party venue, and you can expect lots of vendors trying to sell you food, drink, music and souvenirs.
If this scene is not for you, simply visit Xochimilco at quieter times of the day; the mornings are best for a quiet visit.
However, although the party vibe is not to everyone’s taste, we think it is part of the Xochimilco experience and should be taken as it is – a fun slice of contemporary Mexican culture.
Is Xochimilco cash only?
Xochimilco Gardens Mexico City is free to enter, but Xochimilco tickets for boats must be paid for in cash. Souvenirs, food and drink sellers – plus the musicians – will only take cash payments.
How long do you need in Xochimilco?
We think you need at least two hours to fully explore Xochimilco floating gardens in Mexico City. You will need four hours or more if you want to visit the original (not the replica) Island of the Dolls.
In our experience, the Xochimilco tour we have taken has provided an adequate amount of time on the canals.
What should I wear to Xochimilco?
If you’re visiting the floating gardens of Xochimilco Mexico City, we advise wearing cool clothes which provide adequate skin coverage. Although the boats have a roof, they have no sides, and it can be deceptive how much sun you will actually be exposed to.
Don’t forget sunscreen, sunglasses and plenty of water – especially if you plan on drinking alcohol.
We also advise wearing good gripping no slippy footwear. The boats do not rock but can sway and get slippy, especially with spilt drinks.
Why is Xochimilco famous?
Xochimilco Mexico floating gardens are famous for their man-made ‘chinampa’ islands. The islands were originally rafts built by the Aztecs from Juniper branches and filled with soil for planting crops.
Over time, the rafts sank, and the Juniper branches rooted to the lake floor. As the islands multiplied over the years, the lake eventually became a series of canals. These canals then became an important trading and transport route.
Today, the canals have a reputation as a vibrant cultural attraction, but they also form part of an invaluable ecological reserve.
Can you go to Xochimilco at night?
You can only visit Xochimilco at night on one of the special, nocturnal Xochimilco tours.
How much are mariachis in Xochimilco?
You can pay mariachis to sing and play for you as you ride along the canals at Xochimilco. You can expect to pay around 150 MXN per song, but again, this can be shared amongst all the people on the boat to keep costs down.
What are the boats at Xochimilco called?
The boats at Xochimilco Mexico City are called trajinera – from the Spanish word ‘to travel.’
Each flat-bottomed boat has a name and is brightly coloured and patterned. Together, they create a memorable scene on the canals.
Xochimilco Tours: Final Thoughts
Xochimilco tours are a great option for solo travellers, for visitors who are short on time or for anyone who enjoys a party atmosphere. There is a tour to suit everyone.
Plus, the overall experience will be cheaper if you share your boat, music and food with other people on a tour. We hope this guide has helped you find the best Xochimilco tour for your trip.
We think Xochimilco is a unique Mexico City cultural experience which should not be missed. We love it and think you will too.

Jimmy Butler Shares Video Of China Tour Before Focus Shifts To Season
Shandel richardson | 8 hours ago.
Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler makes a habit of enjoying the offseason to the fullest.
This summer, he had more time than he wanted because of the Heat's early exit from the playoffs. Butler seemingly ended his offseason last week with a China tour as part of his sponsorship with Li-Ning sports apparel company.
The video features all kinds of cool moments of Butler interacting with Chinese fans. He presents them gifts. He plays dominoes. He even participated in pickup games, one with adults and the other with kids (watch for the monster block).
Butler may make a trip to New York to cheer on close friend Carlos Alcaraz in the U.S. Open but the shift to full basketball mode is here. Butler has a lot to prove in what is his most important season with the Heat.
Last year the Heat disappointed by participating in the Play-In tournament one season after making the NBA Finals. The way the season ended was even more upsetting for fans. With Butler and Terry Rozier out with injuries, they were easily defeated by the eventual champion Boston Celtics. The Heat lost every game by at least 14 points, including 118-84 in the clinching Game 5.
There is no doubt Butler put in work the past few months. It only gets only more intense once September hits.
Butler has repeatedly said he wants to bring a championship to Miami. This is the start of what could be his last chance to make it happen.

We found the best prices on pearl jam 2024 tour tickets.
Pearl Jam saved the best for last.
After a busy spring — the legendary grunge group released their critically-acclaimed 12th studio album “Dark Matter” in April and then took it on the road — the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers have ten huge concerts at iconic stadiums and arenas remaining on the second leg of their nationwide ‘Dark Matter Tour.’
That includes a pair of huge back-to-back gigs at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, Sept. 3 and Wednesday, Sept. 4 .
They’re also slated to drop into Wrigley Field and Fenway Park .
And, even if you’ve seen the “Even Flow” band live before, you probably won’t want to miss this tour.
“We still care about putting something out there that is meaningful,” lead singer Eddie Vedder shared in a press release. “No hyperbole, I think this is our best work.”
If you haven’t scored last-minute tickets yet, we’re happy to report they’re available for all upcoming shows.
At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on seats was $47 before fees on Vivid Seats.
Other big gigs have tickets starting anywhere from $61 to $249 before fees.
Curious how much it will cost to see Vedder, McCready, Ament, Gossard and Cameron at the concert closest to you?
We’ve got you covered, Jamily.
Our team has everything you need to know and more about Pearl Jam’s ‘Dark Matter Tour’ below.
All prices listed above are subject to fluctuation.
Pearl Jam tour schedule 2024
(Note: The New York Post confirmed all above prices at the publication time. All prices are in US dollars, subject to fluctuation and, if it isn’t noted, will include additional fees at checkout .)
Vivid Seats is a verified secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.
They offer a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and your tickets will be delivered prior to the event.

Ohana Festival 2024
To close their year, Pearl Jam will headline their annual festival they founded in 2016.
Joining them this year will be big-name acts like Sting , Garbage , Alanis Morissette , Maren Morris , Turnpike Troubadours and more.
Want to go?
Single and multi-day Ohana Music Festival passes can be found here .
Pearl Jam set list
As expected, Pearl Jam is incorporating their exquisite new record into their live shows.
For a closer look at what they’ve been playing, here’s what the band played at a recent gig in Indiana according to Set List FM .
01.) “Wash” 02.) “Nothingman” 03.) “Present Tense” 04.) “Last Exit” 05.) “Spin the Black Circle” 06.) “Not for You” 07.) “Scared of Fear” 08.) “React, Respond” 09.) “Wreckage” 10.) “Daughter” 11.) “Even Flow” 12.) “Dark Matter” 13.) “Upper Hand” 14.) “Black” 15.) “Do the Evolution” 16.) “Running” 17.) “Porch” Encore
18.) “Song of Good Hope” (Glen Hansard cover) 19.) “Lightning Bolt” 20.) “Corduroy” 21.) “Setting Sun” 22.) “Alive”
23.) “Baba O’Riley” (The Who cover) 24.) “Yellow Ledbetter”
Pearl Jam new music
On April 19, Pearl Jam released their 12th studio album “Dark Matter.”
And, while fans may have been incredulous when Vedder called the record Pearl Jam’s “best yet,” there’s certainly some merit to that statement.
The searing, soaring sun-drenched anthem “Upper Hand” is on par with the band’s greatest hits, and, for my money, has earned a rightful spot in live shows going forward.
“Running” thrums along and sounds like the soundtrack to a late-night joyride; the bluesy, romantic sing-a-long “Something Special” slows things down beautifully and album opener “Scared of Fear” is everything you want in a rock song — hooky guitars, hard-charging drums, tempo changes and unforgettable lyrics like “We used to laugh, we used to sing/We used to dance, we used to believe.”
Give this record a spin ASAP if you haven’t; “Dark Matter” is essential Pearl Jam.

Barry Williams Takes His Daughter on a Nostalgic 'Back Alley' Tour of the Iconic Brady Bunch Set
The 69-year-old gave his young daughter a backstage tour
Barry Williams/Instagram
The Brady Bunch ’s Barry Williams recently took a trip down memory lane, showing off the studio where the beloved ’70s sitcom was filmed to his own 12-year-old daughter.
The sweet backstage tour took place back in July, with Williams, 69, sharing a video via his official Instagram account ( watch it here ).
Of course, the iconic Brady house set at Paramount Television’s Stage 5 is long gone — the show ended in 1974. But Williams, who starred as oldest Brady sibling Greg, gave daughter Samantha, as well as his Instagram followers, a peek at a backstage hallway he referred to as “the back alley.”
Courtesy Everett Collection
“It’s a little different because we used to have pictures of all our fans along these walls here,” he explained. “Thousands of letters on these walls. It was like wallpaper.”
Williams also pointed out a sign on a nearby door warning people not to enter when a red light is on.
“See where it says ‘closed set’?” he said. “We never had closed set.”
But, Williams explained, the show’s young stars used the “back alley” hallway to get to their classrooms.
“Here was a classroom,” he noted, indicating a door across the hall, “And it was just me and Maureen McCormick (Marcia) — that was high school. And then this next room was for the little kids.”
This wasn’t the first time Williams revisited the Brady house. While the show’s interior sets are gone, the real Harry M. Londelius Jr.-built house used for exterior shots on the show still stands in L.A.’s Studio City neighborhood, and was the subject of a 2019 HGTV reality show, A Very Brady Renovation . Williams, McCormick and their TV siblings Christopher Knight , Eve Plumb , Mike Lookinland and Susan Olsen all appeared on the series, helping HGTV stars Jonathan and Drew Scott , Mina Starsiak , Lara Spencer and others refurbish the house to look exactly like the show’s famous sets.

“It is very nostalgic,” Williams told PEOPLE of the finished product back in 2019. “I felt like a teenager walking in. The memories keep flooding in — episodes, scenes, what happened and what transpired. As Maureen pointed out, we can feel the presence of [deceased costars] Robert [Reed] , Florence [Henderson] and Annie [B. Davis] there with us. Maybe they’re seeing it. It’ll be nice for them to enjoy it too.”
More recently, Williams appeared on the 32nd season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars late last year. Though he was eliminated from the competition on Nov. 14, the Brady Bunch alumnus told PEOPLE that he “loved every minute” of his time on the show.

Oasis Announces Reunion Tour After 15 Years of Brotherly War
Liam and Noel Gallagher’s 1990s Britpop band will play dates in Britain and Ireland in 2025.
By Ben Sisario
In the list of rock bands considered least likely to bury their hatchets long enough to successfully reunite, the British group Oasis has always been near the very top.
At its peak in the 1990s, Oasis — led by the brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher — exemplified the soaring appeal of Britpop, with anthemic hits like “Wonderwall,” “Live Forever” and “Champagne Supernova” that could produce mass singalongs in any pub or arena. In 1994, the group’s debut, “Definitely Maybe,” rocketed to the top of the British pop chart and became a zeitgeist-defining moment for a new wave of English rock.
But the band kept crashing down to earth, largely through the fisticuffs — verbal and physical — of the Gallagher brothers. In 1995, a 14-minute unofficial CD was released of Noel and Liam getting sidetracked during a journalist’s interview to bicker with each other, loudly and ruthlessly if not quite comprehensibly.
The band split up in 2009 — “I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer,” Noel said at the time — and over the years the Gallaghers have continued to lob public insults at each other.
Now they seem to have reconciled sufficiently to announce a comeback tour in summer 2025, which is to include shows throughout Britain and Ireland, including at least four nights at Wembley Stadium in London. The band announced the tour on its website . In a statement, the band said plans were underway for dates on “other continents outside of Europe later next year.”
“The great wait is over,” the statement added: “Come see.”
The announcement was no surprise. Over the weekend, Oasis posted Tuesday’s date on its website and social media accounts, after days of gossip on social media and detailed reporting from anonymous “industry insiders” in the British news media about an imminent tour announcement. Liam Gallagher himself boosted those rumors. When one fan said he was “scared” about the news to come, Liam answered, “Your scared how do you think I feel.” Streams of the band’s catalog spiked in anticipation .
Tickets for the shows go on sale Aug. 31.
In Britain, Oasis was a phenomenon, selling tens of millions of albums and racking up six Brit Awards, and the Gallagher brothers’ antics guaranteed constant coverage in the news media. But the band never scaled the same heights in the United States. Perhaps that was a result of its quintessential Englishness. More likely, it was self-inflicted: In 1994, when the American rock press was buzzing about Oasis, it put on a notoriously debauched performance in Los Angeles and Noel abandoned the group for a few days.
Oasis has never won a Grammy Award. This year it was nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for the first time but was not inducted .
Since Oasis broke up, Noel has released four albums with his group Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. Liam has released two with his group Beady Eye, three solo albums and one with John Squire of the Stone Roses.
One question left unanswered: Who will play in the band besides the Gallagher brothers? The announcement made no mention, and a spokeswoman for the group did not respond to a question about the lineup.
This week, Oasis is set to release a 30th-anniversary edition of its debut album, “Definitely Maybe,” including early tracks that the band had long considered lost .
