Best prices and lovely staff

I come back to this company everytime for my flights between the US and the UK. Used them 4 times now. I always deal with Henry by email. He is super nice and very quick to respond. He always takes into consideration I am traveling alone with 3 young children so layovers can't be too short or long. Once we agree on routes he sends me a payment link and I pay and get my e-tickets very quickly. I always get a better price than any comparison site! I would highly recommend using this company!!

I found it a bit difficult with the prompts adding some information. The auto spell did not work well, so I added the wrong surname thinking it was correct. I received a call from your customer service agent saying. I added the wrong information, so I had to pay £75.00 to get it changed. I was told it was because I had tried for the booking twice. Everything is so expensive now days and it seems like everyone is out for your money. A little bit disappointed.

Good Responsive Team

I have to say, having read some of the negative reviews, I was a little nervous to get flight sorted from London - Nashville given they were already so expensive. I highlighted some of my concerns early to the team and mentioned I would like to know the pricing of the tickets before purchase. The team / Stella were super responsive all throughout and got me a deal that was far cheaper than I could get directly with flexible ticket changes (with a fee) if required. I had a good read of the T&Cs prior and made sure I had all my questions ready and the team were open and honest about all of this. I still had incorrect pricing sent to me on the confirmation email (-£100) which I had to correct so make sure to read everything in detail and its true to what you are expecting. Overall a good experience so far, responsive team, got confirmation within a couple of hours. Unable to comment how communication may go during trip if required at present.

Professional when not their fault

I mistakenly made a review of 1 star under this companies name, it should have been travel house without the word THE in front. When I spoke to them the lady was very clear about this and I removed the comment against this company. I remain sorry. I have now corrected this review to the correct company Travel House.... they forgot to add nightmare afterwards on their title.

If I could give zero stars then I…

If I could give zero stars then I would, how you should judge a company is when things go wrong. A cancelled flight by the airline and wouldn’t even speak to the airline until we pushed them after a couple of phone calls. Really don’t bother. Update: The option you gave me was when I was back in the UK, which was also on a completely different date I needed to travel back. I’m now dealing with American Airlines direct. Seriously don’t use this company, absolutely no help.

I had tried to book tickets online and wasn’t doing very well. I phoned The Travel House, spoke to Russell, who was super helpful and efficient and it got sorted out easily. He helped every step of the way; listened carefully to my requirements, found the best available flights for me and although he had to put me on hold a few times, he kept me fully informed of how long he might be and also phoned me back when necessary. I received a follow up call to check I had my tickets as well! I will DEFINITELY use the services of The Travel House again and recommend them wholeheartedly.

Make sure not to make a spelling mistake

We made one letter spelling mistake. They wanted us to pay £150 plus £75 for correcting one spelling mistake (fair enough). We asked what is £150 for - no answer. So we made a correction with the airline directly for FREE. Happy days.

Great value tickets! Would recommend. Just to be aware when making more than one reservation they book these separately so you have multiple booking references and separate check-ins which resulted in us not being able to sit together unless we paid American Airlines $140!

This company is a joke

This company is a joke, the agent told me to fully pay the ticket and I can make changes of which I did. We could not find a suitable ticket of which the agent the proceeded and told me that he will refund me the money but I was going a £500 which I accepted. I have all the screenshots from the what’s app conversation. When the file came to refund they refused to refund any money. I reviewed the company on trust pilot and 190 people saw this, I am am putting another review till they fix the dishonesty. When they do I will put a positive review with no problem. I will keep reviewing till every time they tell me to bugger off. No way am just letting go of £2000. Don’t use this company till they solve the issue. Reply to response, I tried to speak to your manager and he was very rude to me hence all this. What’s the email address to send the evidence. I would I pay for a full ticket and decide to just leave it and not fly or even change the dates? These are not threats they’re facts. I will keep putting the reviews until it’s sorted. Near Disaster Solved With Great Customer Service

My experience with The Travel House could have gone very negatively, but their excellent customer service turned it around. I booked a flight but was told within an hour of booking that the flight was overbooked and that they would have to rebook me. Fortunately, their representative Austin Rees walked me through the rebooking process and even offered me a small upgrade as a goodwill gesture. Since the error was on the side of the airline, The Travel House did the best they could rectify the situation.

I used The Travel House to book tickets to Nashville recently. The only direct flight is with BA and it was far more expensive on the BA website than it was through The Travel House for exactly the same flight. I got in touch with the customer service team to see whether my BA points could still be added on and Steven Rogers responded within 5 minutes (!) to say this had been done for me. I'm very impressed so far. You wouldn't receive such a speedy response from any airline, well done Travel House!

Good deals but beware the upsell

We received a great deal from the Travel House, far cheaper than we could have booking directly with the airline for our route. However, instead of issuing the tickets directly, we were forced to call the agent, who lied to us about the airline policy in an attempt to upsell on a different ticket class. We didn’t appreciate how pushy the agent was, and it was unfortunate that they chose to do this instead of just issuing the e-ticket immediately. In short, you can find good deals with the Travel House, you just have to tolerate their upsell tactics. Avoid if you can get the same or similar price directly with the airline.

Unreal fares. Was suspicious of this agency at first if I'm honest, and received a very pushy and quite rude agent for my first booking. Since then I have booked several times, received fares that are almost impossibly low and not available anywhere else. They are very responsive over email too. This company is a joke, the agent told me to fully pay the ticket and I can make changes of which I did. We could not find a suitable ticket of which the agent the proceeded and told me that he will refund me the money but I was going a £500 which I accepted. Pskov: Where Russia's last tsar abdicated the throne

The decision to go to Pskov in June was a spontaneous one. Our train arrived at the station at about noon. While looking for a map of the city my co-travellers and I stumbled upon a large stone tablet . It said that the last Russian Tsar Nicholas II abdicated the throne at this very station in a dining car nearly 100 years ago in March 1917. Later he and his family were shot and killed in the Ural Mountains , but the act of abdication occurred more than 2,000 kilometers away from the site of tragedy. In memory of this event, Pskov residents erected a church on the station square .

From the station to downtown it’s only four blocks, so we went by foot. After lunch, we found a studio apartment for a one-night stay. In my experience, hotels are usually more expensive in smaller cities such as Pskov. The price of our apartment was half as expensive as a hotel room.  

Silence in the Kremlin

Inside the Kremlin there is only one church, the Trinity Cathedral , constructed much later in a style typical for church architecture in the 18-19th centuries. When a service is being conducted, a church-goer stands at the entrance prevent any women without their heads covered inside. This guard of sorts also demands that females wearing jeans put scarves around their hips, thus making kind of a skirt.  

The old Russian ornament

On the outskirts of the city we saw many old buildings in poor condition; the hands of restoration artists have not touched them yet. There are many renovations going on in Pskov, according to Artur, one of Pskov's young restoration artists. Artur is a former physical fitness teacher and has been restoring buildings for 10 years. The last two years he has been working here in Pskov. Artur says that he restores churches because this kind of work is well paid. Lately he has spent a lot of time learning how to carve Pskov's famous ornament. The Pskov necklace demands time, he says – not more than three or four bricks can be carved in a day and cutting the ornamental pattern through stone is not an easy task.

How to get there

To get to Pskov from Moscow take a train from Leningrad railway station or from Riga railway station. It will take you about 15 hours if you depart from the latter, and 11 hours if you take off from the former. Both trains depart from Moscow in the evening and arrive in Pskov in the morning. Pskov is located about four hours from St. Petersburg. The easiest way to get to Pskov from there is by bus. I would recommend staying in one of the apartments offered on Airbnb.
