Tickets to the shows — which have been dubbed, appropriately enough, “The California Concerts” — will go on sale to the general public on Friday, October 13, at 10 a.m. PT, while a presale will begin on Wednesday, October 11, at 10 a.m. PT.

As with the current 2023 leg of the Eagles’ Long Goodbye Tour, fellow Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Steely Dan will serve as opening act at the January shows.

The new gigs will mark the 10th anniversary of the Eagles’ six-show run at the Forum that reopened the venue after it had undergone a $100 million renovation. The band has played many concerts at the Forum over the years, dating back to the 1970s, and two of its live albums were recorded there— Live at the Forum ’76 (2021) and Live from the Forum MMXVIII (2020).

The Eagles launched the 2023 leg of its Long Goodbye Tour with a September 7-8 stand at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The trek continues this week with an October 5-6 engagement in Denver. The tour is expected to continue into 2025.

The Eagles’ lineup currently consists of founding singer/drummer Don Henley, longtime guitarist Joe Walsh and bassist Timothy B. Schmit, country star Vince Gill, and Deacon Frey, son of late Eagles co-founder Glenn Frey.

Upon announcing the Long Goodbye Tour this past July, the band issued a statement the read, in part, “The Eagles have had a miraculous 52-year odyssey, performing for people all over the globe; keeping the music alive in the face of tragic losses, upheavals and setbacks of many kinds…Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle.”

The Eagles announce ‘Long Goodbye’ farewell tour: ‘This is our swan song’

The Eagles have taken it to the limit.

The legendary rock group has announced its final tour, dubbed “The Long Goodbye.”

“We know how fortunate we are, and we are truly grateful,” the band said in a statement . “Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle. The official farewell tour is currently in the planning stages. We want to give all our fans a chance to see us on this final round.”

Thirteen shows have initially been announced, with more to come.

“During ‘The Long Goodbye,’ the Eagles — Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey — will perform as many shows in each market as their audience demands. The tour is expected to continue into 2025,” a press release for the tour said.

The Eagles Announce Addition of 'The California Concerts' to The Long Goodbye Tour

The rock band will bring their farewell tour to Los Angeles' Kia Forum in January 2024

It wouldn’t be a proper farewell tour for The Eagles without a special send-off to their native Los Angeles.

On Thursday, the rock icons announced they are adding two L.A. shows onto their Long Goodbye Tour . Dubbed The California Concerts, the “Hotel California” group will play two nights at the Kia Forum in early 2024 on Jan. 5 and 6.

The shows commemorate the 10-year anniversary of when the Grammy winners played an epic six show residency at the venue in January 2014 during its reopening after a major renovation. They also celebrate the music legends' long relationship with the venue: The Eagles first played there in 1975, released the Live at the Forum record in 1976, and have performed there many times in the decades since.

Steely Dan , who has been opening for the group on The Long Goodbye Tour, will also join them at the L.A. dates.

The group currently featuring Don Henley, Joe Walsh , Timothy B. Schmit, Vince Gill and Deacon Frey — son of the late Glenn Frey , one of the founding members of the band, kicked off their farewell tour in September.

Deacon, 30, rejoins the rockers for the final tour after it was announced in 2022 that he was leaving the band after 4 and a half years to “forge his own path.” He initially joined the band in 2017 after his father Glenn died in 2016 at age 67.

The band began their run with two nights at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Sept. 7 and 8. In addition to playing their hits from throughout their career spanning over five decades, they also played a two-song tribute to Jimmy Buffett who died at age 76 in September.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers will continue touring throughout the fall before wrapping up this leg of performances in Minneapolis in mid-November before resuming with their California Concerts in 2024.

According to a press release, the band plans to continue performing “as many shows in each market as their audience demands,” with plans to be on the road into 2025.

“The Eagles have had a miraculous 52-year odyssey, performing for people all over the globe; keeping the music alive in the face of tragic losses, upheavals and setbacks of many kinds,” the band shared in a statement when they announced The Long Goodbye Tour. “Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle.”

The “Take It Easy” band continued, “We hope to see as many of you as we can, before we finish up. Most importantly, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for embracing this band and its music. At the end of the day, you are the reason we have been able to carry on for over five decades. This is our swan song, but the music goes on and on.”

Tickets for The California Concerts will kick off with a presale from Oct. 11 at 10 a.m. PT to Oct. 12 at the end of the day. The general on-sale will follow on Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. PT.

The Eagles are ready to fly one last time, soaring for a farewell tour this fall to cap off their five decades of touring.

“The Eagles have had a miraculous 52-year odyssey, performing for people all over the globe; keeping the music alive in the face of tragic losses, upheavals and setbacks of many kinds,” the “Hotel California” and “Desperado” hitmakers said in a Thursday statement .

“We know how fortunate we are, and we are truly grateful. Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle.”

The Los Angeles-formed rock band — eternally associated with the Southern California country-rock sound — will launch their Long Goodbye tour in New York’s Madison Square Garden on Sept. 7, announcing 12 additional dates Thursday with the possibility of more to come. However, no California dates have yet been announced.

“The official farewell tour is currently in the planning stages. We want to give all our fans a chance to see us on this final round. So, scheduling information will be released as dates are set,” said the band, whose current lineup includes drummer and vocalist Don Henley, famed guitarist Joe Walsh, bassist Timothy B. Schmit and guitarist Vince Gill. Gill joined the band after founding member and guitarist Glenn Frey died at 67 in 2016 . (Frey’s son Deacon also played with the band for nearly five years before announcing his departure in 2022 .)

“The difficulties of booking venues for multiple nights may require us to return to certain cities, depending on demand. But, we hope to see as many of you as we can, before we finish up,” they said. “Most importantly, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for embracing this band and its music. At the end of the day, you are the reason we have been able to carry on for over five decades. This is our swan song, but the music goes on and on.”

The six-time Grammy Award-winning group and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers will be joined by contemporary act Steely Dan, whose members will be commemorating their own half-century spanning career as well.

Few bands were better at distilling the vibe of Los Angeles in the 1970s than the Eagles, and as its singer and guitarist, Glenn Frey served as a sort of mellow ambassador of our city.

The bands have scheduled shows through mid-November in Boston, Newark, Denver, Indianapolis, Detroit, Cleveland, Atlanta, Charlotte and Raleigh, N.C., Lexington, Ky., and St. Paul, Minn. The full schedule can be found here . The Long Goodbye tour follows their recently expanded Hotel California tour , named for their landmark 1976 album that they played in its entirety during the tour, which wrapped in Baltimore in April.

The Eagles concert review

According to  Variety , The Eagles “easily competes with the likes of Taylor Swift and Beyoncé for tour of the year.”

For more about Deacon Frey, Joe Walsh, Don Henley, Vince Gill and what covers the band worked into their MSG concert, you can read their thorough review  here .

The Eagles band members

When you’ve been living life in the fast lane since 1971 (!), a bit of shuffling when it comes to your group’s lineup is to be expected.

Still, to this day, 75-year-old, founding member Don Henley (drums, vocals, also known for the ’80s smash “Boys of Summer), continues to tour with the group.

On the road, he’ll be joined by 75-year-old Joe Walsh (also of the James Gang), 75-year-old Timothy B. Schmit (bassist and vocalist, played with Poco), 22-time Grammy winner 65-year-old Vince Gill and the late Glenn Frey’s 30-year-old son Deacon.

Over the course of their illustrious career, the band has racked up six Grammy awards, performed over 1000 concerts and sold 150 million albums.

The Eagles set list

Now that The Eagles have returned to the road, we’ve got a better idea of what they’re playing live this time around.

Based on our findings at  Set List FM , here’s what you’ll likely hear from the band when they come to a venue near you.

01.) “Seven Bridges Road” (Steve Young cover) 02.) “Take It Easy”

03.) “One of These Nights” 04.) “New Kid in Town” 05.) “Take It to the Limit” 06.) “Best of My Love” 07.) “Witchy Woman” 08.) “Peaceful Easy Feeling” (Jack Tempchin cover) 09.) “Tequila Sunrise” 10.) “In the City” (Joe Walsh song) 11.) “I Can’t Tell You Why” 12.) “Lyin’ Eyes” 13.) “Life’s Been Good” (Joe Walsh song) 14.) “Already Gone” (Jack Tempchin cover) 15.) “The Boys of Summer” (Don Henley song) 16.) “Funk #49” (James Gang cover) 17.) “Life in the Fast Lane”

18.) “Heartache Tonight” Encore:

19.) “Rocky Mountain Way” (Joe Walsh song) 20.) “Desperado” 21.) “Hotel California”

Most recently, jazzy rockers Steely Dan toured all over North America in summer 2022 as part of their ‘Earth After Hours Tour.’

These days, the band is led by Donald Fagen; his co-founder Walter Becker passed away in 2017.

If you want to catch up on the band’s hits (we know you do), you can hear “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number,” “Hey 19,” “Kid Charlemagne,” “Do It Again,” “Reelin’ In The Years” and so many more  right here, right now .

The Eagles Announce “The Long Goodbye” The Band’s Final Tour

Tickets On Sale Friday, July 14 at 10:00 Local Time

High-res photos HERE

LOS ANGELES , July 6, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — After more than 50 years of touring, and consistently selling out arenas and stadiums worldwide, the Eagles announced today that their upcoming “The Long Goodbye”  will be the band’s final tour.

Thirteen shows will be initially announced. The first set of dates will begin September 7, 2023 , in New York .

The Eagles’ long-time contemporaries and fellow Hall of Famers, Steely Dan,  will be joining these historic shows and commemorating their own 50+ year career.

Presale tickets and VIP packages will be available starting Wednesday, July 12 for all announced shows. The general on-sale will start Friday, July 14 at 10:00 AM local time.

During “The Long Goodbye,” the Eagles – Don Henley , Joe Walsh , Timothy B. Schmit , with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey – will perform as many shows in each market as their audience demands. The tour is expected to continue into 2025.

Over the band’s more than 50 years of touring, the Eagles have performed more than 1,000 concerts around the world, accounting for more than 15 million tickets. Eagles’ tours have consistently ranked in the Top 10 of both concert industry publications, Billboard and Pollstar .

In the Fall of 1971, the Eagles formed, pioneered, and personified a uniquely American musical style blending country, folk, R&B, rock, and pop sensibilities, and would go onto become one of the most creatively and commercially successful bands of all time.  In today’s faddish, fractured, rock landscape, the Eagles retain an appeal that transcends both generation and genre, cementing the band’s role as enduring musical icons.

The Eagles have sold more than 150 million albums worldwide, scored six #1 albums, and topped the singles charts five times. They earned six GRAMMY Awards, were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, in their very first year of eligibility, and received the Kennedy Center Honors in 2016.

The band’s Greatest Hits 1971-1977 is the best-selling album in history, with the RIAA certifying the collection at 38-times Platinum.  Hotel California is the third best-selling U.S. album in history, certified 26-times Platinum.  After its release in 1976, it topped the charts and earned two GRAMMY Awards for “New Kid In Town” and “Hotel California.”

The “Long Goodbye” tour is proudly presented by Live Nation.

the eagles farewell tour los angeles

Eagles in 2023 (Photo: Kevin Mazur/Getty Images; used with permission)

Eagles have added four 2024 dates to their final tour, due to “overwhelming demand” for the initial shows in many markets. The group has several more November 2023 shows before taking a break. They resume in January with four concerts in Los Angeles; the tour now extends into March. Tickets go on sale for their second Chicago date on Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. local time; seats for second shows in Phoenix, Austin and Toronto go on sale Nov. 10. All are available here . See the complete itinerary below. (Note: When many of the tour’s earlier shows in other cities began selling quickly, additional dates were added in many markets.)

After more than 50 years of touring, and consistently selling out arenas and stadiums worldwide, the Eagles announced on July 6, 2023, that “The Long Goodbye” would be the band’s final tour. The first (of many) shows began September 7 at New York’s Madison Square Garden, the first of seven concerts in the northeast that month. The Eagles’ long-time contemporaries, Steely Dan, were selected to join these historic shows and commemorating their own 50+ year career. However, Donald Fagen has an unspecified illness and is missing many of the November dates. [For those shows, Tedeschi Trucks Band or the Doobie Brothers are serving as the opening act.]

During “The Long Goodbye,” the Eagles – Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey – will perform as many shows in each market as their audience demands. The tour, presented by Live Nation, is expected to continue into 2025.

On the day of the tour announcement, the band shared a lengthy statement:

“The Eagles have had a miraculous 52-year odyssey, performing for people all over the globe; keeping the music alive in the face of tragic losses, upheavals and setbacks of many kinds. Credit and thanks go to our longtime management team, our dedicated road crew, and our exceptional backup musicians for providing skilled and steadfast support, throughout these many years. We know how fortunate we are, and we are truly grateful. Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle. The official farewell tour is currently in the planning stages. We want to give all our fans a chance to see us on this final round. So, scheduling information will be released as dates are set. The difficulties of booking venues for multiple nights may require us to return to certain cities, depending on demand. But, we hope to see as many of you as we can, before we finish up. Most importantly, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for embracing this band and its music. At the end of the day, you are the reason we have been able to carry on for over five decades. This is our swan song, but the music goes on and on.”

With love and gratitude, The Eagles

Sure hope they come to Canada or at least Northeastern USA . There will always be a following

Timflyte

How a band can have a 52 year career with only one original member, and the drummer at that is beyond me, especially, when half of the original band is still alive, ( Randy & Bernie ), and the first added member ( Don F ) …. People gave CC Revisited flack about not having the original guys, but Cook & Cosmo had 50% of CCR on stage every night they played, much more than Henley does. This is an act that should’ve stopped when Glen passed. People use to make jokes when The Drifters or the Coasters, or any of those do wop bands went out performing w only one original member, how Henley got everyone not to question his motives in calling his act “The Eagles” is saying a lot. Even Jeff Lynne renamed ELO for his tours. Oh well, it goes back to that old Carney saying “there’s one born every minute”. Nothing against Vince or Timothy or Joe, just don’t call it “The Eagles” when 50% of the original band is not in it .

Bk

Great music is still great music. The harmonies and playing are still tight. Sounds like sour grapes to me. Sorry you are going to miss some of the best music made in 50 years

DANIEL

Always been the Eagles and always will be. When Mickey Mantle left the Yankees, they still call them the Yankees. If you don’t like the music, don’t listen.

Gene

I have seen the Eagles multiple times as far back as the mid 1970s and I can tell you that without a doubt they are as good the today as the first time I saw them at the Cotton Bowl in ’75

Walton

Will the Eagles be in Oklahoma, Kansas or Texas on their last tour? There are 100’s of 1000’s of their fans who would like to see them. Please help with this. We need to hear and see them One more time. Please help and reply ASAP. Thanks so much for your time and consideration on this matter!

JOAN BRYANT

Please come to Los Angeles, or somewhere close, I would love to see The Eagles. I’ve been to many concerts but always missed the Eagles.

Da Mick

Why do I get the feeling the Eagles “Farewell Tours” are going to be much like those of Cher and Elton John?

Jill

Don has major back issues and always said he didn’t want to tour without a Frey.. This is the final TOUR most likely, but just like Dead and Co they will still perform

Fred

This will be an interesting tour with Steely Dan being the support act. WIth SD being heavily jazz influences and the The Eagles being heavily country influenced. Who’s idea was this anyway? Love Best Classic Bands. Read it every morning. Thanks FS

They have shared the same bill for many years .. not strange at all

Grasshopper

Got to see Eagles just after Glenn passed, great then as always. These guys have been on the road, together or solo, for many years. Time for family they missed growing up and take care of themselves. Thanks for many years of music guys and your family

Poor debber

I will always play Eagles music. If ever there was a heaven on Earth, it’s been an Eagles concert. They all still make me swoon. They were the pretty boys at hotel California. The stories they need to tell us… are still a mystery. This Long good bye is killing me.

Music + concerts, music + concerts | eagles add two dates at kia forum to its the long goodbye final tour, tickets to the pair of hometown shows go on sale next week..

the eagles farewell tour los angeles

Los Angeles-based rock band the Eagles have added two additional shows to their The Long Goodbye Final Tour.

The evenings, dubbed The California Concerts, will take place at Kia Forum in Inglewood on Friday, Jan. 5 and Saturday, Jan. 6.

The shows will also mark the 10th anniversary of the six Eagles’ concerts that reopened Forum after it underwent a $100 million renovation back in 2014.

A special presale begins at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11 and runs through 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12. Remaining tickets go on sale to the general public starting at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13 at Ticketmaster.com . Both California shows will be opened by fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Steely Dan, which is out commemorating its own 50-plus year career.

The Eagles tour is called The Long Goodbye because band members Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey have previously stated that they’d perform as many shows in each market as the audience demands and the jaunt is expected to continue well into 2025.

But the Kia Forum dates are hometown gigs for the Eagles, who first played the venue back in 1975 on their One of These Nights Tour. The band returned in 1976 and recorded its three-night stand, delivering the “Live at the Forum ’76” album just before the release of “Hotel California.”

They played several more times throughout the decades, but when the Eagles returned to open the reopen the venue in 2014 on its History of the Eagles Tour, there was a recreation of the band’s “Hotel California” vinyl record spinning atop of the roof, which was made of real vinyl and measured 407 feet in diameter and covered 5.7 acres, according to a press release. It also spun at 17 miles per hour and was visible to the planes flying into and out of the nearby Los Angeles International Airport.

PHOENIX – The Eagles are saying goodbye to the road after more than 50 years of touring, but not without visiting Phoenix for two more shows early next year.

The legendary Southern California band’s “The Long Goodbye Final Tour” will stop at Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix on Jan. 19-20, 2024, with fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Steely Dan along as special guests.

After tickets to the first show sold like hotcakes when they went on sale to the general public Friday morning, the band announced the second show.

Presales for the added show start Wednesday, with tickets going on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. next Friday (Nov. 10).

When The Eagles first revealed plans for their farewell tour in July, they said the shows would be announced as they are confirmed.

“We know how fortunate we are, and we are truly grateful. Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. But everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle,” the band said in a statement at the time.

The Eagles are one of most popular musical acts ever, selling more than 150 million albums worldwide since forming in 1971.

They reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart six times, including with the classics “Hotel California” and “The Long Run.” “Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975” is one of the top-selling albums in history.

How long will The Eagles’ farewell tour last?

The Eagles’ farewell tour, which kicked off in September, is expected to continue into 2025 and could include returns to certain cities depending on demand and venue availability.

Don Henley is the only founding member still performing with the band. The current roster also includes longtime members Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit. Country star Vince Gill and Deacon Frey, the son of late founding member Glenn Frey, round out the touring lineup.

The Eagles came through Phoenix earlier this year, when their long-running “Hotel California Tour” stopped at Footprint Center in March.

The Eagles have added a South Florida stop to their farewell tour, The Long Goodbye, performing at Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood on Friday, March 1.

Tickets start at $206+ and will be available this week via a venue presale running from 10 a.m. Wednesday through 10 p.m. Thursday. For information, visit the Hard Rock Facebook , Instagram and Twitter pages.

The general ticket on-sale begins at 10 a.m. Friday at MyHRL.com .

The Eagles — whose country-rock sound defined rock radio and the pop charts from the outset with an eponymous 1972 debut album that included hits “Take It Easy,” “Witchy Woman” and “Peaceful Easy Feeling” — will be joined on the tour by another titan of that era’s soundtrack, Steely Dan.

The Eagles include longtime members Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit, joined by Vince Gill and Deacon Frey, son of founding member Glenn Frey, who died in 2016.

Bassist and vocalist Randy Meisner, another founding member of the band, died on July 26 at age 77.

The tour is expected to continue into 2025, and promoters say the Eagles will perform “as many shows in each market as their audience demands.” Multiple cities have had extra concerts added due to “overwhelming demand,” including New York, Boston, Denver and Atlanta. So get to work, South Florida.
