Mercury holidays adds five new escorted tours to 2023/24 offering.
Mercury Holidays has added five new escorted tours to its 2023/2024 product offering following an uptick in demand for touring holidays.
The additions come amid the launch of the brand’s new 2023/2024 brochure, which hit the shelves earlier this month.
Michael Priest, head of product for the brand, said customer feedback inspired the company to add new tours across Asia, Africa and Europe.
"There are experiences that can only be enjoyed through travel and our tours to see the komodo dragons in Indonesia, the lemurs of Madagascar and the great tiger reserves of Central India are fantastic opportunities to see these creatures in the natural environment," he added.
New tours include a nine-day India’s Tiger and Wildlife trip from £2,199pp; a 16-day Java, Bali and the Komodo Dragons tour from £3,079pp; and a 12-day Grand Tour of Egypt itinerary from £2,419pp.
A 14-day Madagascar: Discover a Lost World holiday comes in at £3,299pp and an eight-day Pompeii, Capri and the Amalfi Coast getaway costs £1,099pp.

Thanks for replying. As we are a couple of pensioners we prefer the security of an organised tour. We also enjoy the company of fellow travellers too. However if we were 30 years younger we would probably be doing just as you suggested!
We've used Mercury Direct for organised tours in Peru, Vietnam and Sri Lanka, and been extremely happy.
For their escorted tours they use a local agent for the land component, and add on flights at what seem to be reasonable prices. You can buy the land only tour & arrange different flights (either yourself or via Mercury) - useful if you want a regional departure. I've always found them very helpful.
Thanks again for your useful comments. Very kind of you to do further research- much appreciated.
May also be worth looking at reviews on their Facebook page.
We are thinking of going in 2018 so please report back when you have been on the trip. Hope it's a good one!
I'll try to remember to do it - unfortunately people are far more likely to post bad experiences than good - human nature!
My mother is also interested in this holiday but wants to know how long you spend on the various coach journeys.

Mercury Holidays adds five escorted tours following ‘strong demand’

Mercury Holidays has added five new escorted tours to its range for 2023-24 thanks to “strong demand”.
Its new Escorted Tours brochure now features 115 itineraries.
The additions are India’s Tigers and Wildlife, from £2,199 for nine days; Java, Bali and the Komodo Dragons, from £3,079 for 16 days; the Grand Tour of Egypt, from £2,419 for 12 days; Madagascar: Discover a Lost World, from £3,299 for 14 days; and Pompeii, Capri and the Amalfi Coast, an eight-day tour from £1,099.
The operator is also running its Double Incentives scheme, which offers Love2shop vouchers to agents, and applies to all short-haul, long-haul, escorted tours and river cruise bookings made in January and February.
Michael Priest, head of product, said the new tours have been created with feedback from customers and offer the chance to see some of the world’s “most iconic” wildlife, cultural and natural sights.
“There are experiences that can only be enjoyed through travel,” he said.
“Our tours to see the Komodo dragons in Indonesia, the lemurs of Madagascar and the great tiger reserves of central India are fantastic opportunities to see these creatures in the natural environment.”

Got wanderlust? Our readers have traveled the globe this year, exploring everything from Oregon’s bike trails to Austria’s museums and cultural centers And they’ve share their stories and helpful travel tips along the way.
Now, a San Rafael family is sharing their adventures in Spain.
Wish You Were Here
SPAIN: San Rafael residents Jack and Clare Robertson took a family trip to Spain and Portugal in September. Along for the ride were, left to right, John (San Rafael), Clare, Dan (Los Angeles), Sarah (Chicago), Nolan (Chicago), Tori (Denver), Jack and Tatum (San Rafael).
In addition to a stop in Toledo, pictured, where they toured cathedrals and the Jewish Ghetto, the Robertsons visited Madrid’s Royal Palace, Prado Museum and nightclubs, Jack says, and “gorged on guided tapas tours with good cheap vino and cerveza throughout. (We) walked steep steps in amazing Granada and its Alhambra, (and) visited the White Villages in the mountains, where we made homemade bread in the garage of the local winemaker, who then served us a fabulous picnic.”
TRAVEL TIPS: “Much of what we did would have been unbearably hot to do, if we were there in July/August. Definitely recommend spring or fall for visiting. The Alhambra tickets must be purchased weeks/months in advance during the high season. We also had advance tickets to the palaces and museums which enabled us to go straight into the building at our appointed time. Good prep for the trip: Watching ‘Somebody Feed Phil’ — Lisbon and Madrid episodes — on Netflix.”
