But with so many options available, it can be hard to find the best deals on Bali vacation packages. Here are some tips to help you get the most out of your trip.
The best way to get the best deals on Bali vacation packages is to book early. Prices tend to go up as the travel date approaches, so booking at least two months in advance can help you save money. Additionally, booking early gives you more time to research and compare prices from different vendors. This will ensure that you get the most value for your money.
Look for Discounts and Promotions
Many travel companies offer discounts and promotions throughout the year. It’s always a good idea to keep an eye out for these offers, as they can help you save a lot of money on your trip. You can also sign up for newsletters from various travel companies, which will alert you when there are special offers available. Additionally, many airlines offer discounts for booking flights in advance or during certain times of the year.
Research Different Vendors
It’s important to do your research when looking for the best deals on Bali vacation packages. Compare prices from different vendors and read reviews from past customers to make sure that you’re getting quality service at a reasonable price. Additionally, look into what amenities are included in each package before making a decision. This will ensure that you get exactly what you need without paying extra for unnecessary services or features.
Finding the best deals on Bali vacation packages doesn’t have to be difficult or time-consuming. By following these tips, you can save money and enjoy an unforgettable experience in one of the world’s most beautiful destinations.

What's Your Question?
Where Is Bali Located?
Bali is a small island located in the country of Indonesia, which also happens to be a popular tourist destination, particularly for Americans and Australians. Learn more about where exactly it’s located and what makes it so popular, along with other facts about this beloved Asian island.
Where Is Bali?
According to World Atlas, Bali takes up about 2,174 square miles of land in the series of islands that make up the country of Indonesia. The island, which is along the southern tip of Asia, borders the Indian Ocean, several seas and the Bali Strait, which separates it from the island of Java. Its latitude and longitude coordinates are 08° 39′ S, 115° 13′ E, reports World Atlas. It’s only eight degrees south of the equator, making it relatively warm year-round.
Bali’s Geography
Bali’s geography is heavily made up of volcanoes and mountains, including Mount Agung, which is around 10,000 feet tall, reports World Atlas. The volcano’s known eruptions happened in 1843, 1963 to 1964 and 2017, according to the Smithsonian Institute’s National Museum of Natural History. The eruption of 1963 is often considered one of the largest in Indonesia’s history, and it killed up to 1,500 people. The volcanoes combined with the rainfall that occurs in Bali make the island a hot spot for agricultural products like coffee and rice. Bali has a combination of white sand and black sand beaches, and coral reefs surround the island, according to World Atlas.
Bali’s History
Between 1597 and 1906, the Dutch annexed parts of Bali until they were able to take over the entire island. By World War II, the Japanese occupied the island, and in 1950, Indonesian revolutionary forces seized control of the island and made it a part of the Republic of Indonesia, according to Encyclopedia Britannica. Before the Dutch took over, Bali served as a retreat for Hindu people who wanted to escape the mostly Muslim island of Java. Today, the religion is still important to the island’s native people.
Bali’s Weather
Bali experiences tropical weather throughout the year, with highs ranging from 70 to 93 degrees, according to World Atlas. The island’s rainy season takes place between December and March, though rains begin to ramp up in November. April through September is considered the dry season. While Bali can be humid, humidity is lower in April, May and June as well as in September and October. One reason many people may love to travel here is that it’s mostly pleasant, weather-wise.
Traveling to Bali
Bali’s beautiful beaches, resorts, scenery and weather are just some of the reasons why people travel here from all over the world. If you’re planning to travel to Bali, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, you may want to get some vaccinations before you go. Bali.com recommends Tetanus Diphtheria, Measles-mumps-rubella (MMR), Typhoid and Hepatitis A. Other medical conditions you may come in contact with are HIV, rabies, Dengue fever, malaria and yellow fever. The easiest ways to get around Bali are by taxi or motorbike, reports Travel + Leisure. Most people on the island speak Balinese, Indonesian or English. The Indonesian rupiah is the standard form of currency.

So travel insurance is tricky as I usually use BUPA or Covermore or CBA. None of whom are covering yet.
Travel Insurance Direct & 1Cover seem to be the only bigger companies that have lifted the Mt Agnung restrictions.
I always like to be comprehensively insured so I have reasonable quotes from both. I've scoured the forum & they seem to be ok but just thought I'd throw out the question if anyone has any experience e with either of them?
Thanks in advance!
I took out cover with TID in May as they have excellent reviews also but I didn't need to claim so cant comment on that. The only reason I went with TID instead of 1Cover is they cover non travelling relatives up to 100 yrs of age whereas 1Cover is 85 and as my mother is 89 I needed to have cover in case I needed to cut my trip short and get alternative flights etc, but I think either of these companies are good
Dianne thank you so much for responding. We are fortunate to have never needed to claim anything in all our years of traveling so even though I take out what I assume is the best & most comprehensive, I really don't know how they'd be if I had to claim tbh!! It's only due to the volcano & who's covering & who's not!! My own fault of course & lesson curly learned!!
Cheers, Vanessa

Have had a couple of claims with 1Cover. Both paid promptly and without fuss. Have used them for many trips, and have done so again for trip in two weeks time.
We messaged TID back and forth through Facebook Messenger, and they were great. We just needed a letter from our hotel that we had reported it to them, then a quote from Apple for a new one.
The amount (less the excess) was refunded within days. Can't fault them.
There's good feedback for both these companies, it's great to get reviews from people who have actually claimed and not just going by how helpful they are when taking out a policy, the proof is in the pudding as the saying goes
Yes I agree Dianne, fabulous feedback indeed! Very comforting & reassuring. Especially funny about your son's iPhone....letter from the hotel....not sure how that works for proving it per se but insurance companies are an entity of their own!!
Thanks all for taking the time to respond.
1Cover is always my first choice when searching for insurance, good cover and good prices. I claimed with TID once and was ok but repeated info several times during claim process.
I had to claim via TID in JUly last year. I got ill on a scuba trip and claimed back the costs of my prepaid dives.
The claim process was a bit frustrating as their website seemed incompatible with every darn computer (three) that I tried it on. I persevered and ended up emailing them my supporting documents. I think my claim was approved and the amount refunded in less than 14 days.
I've purchased from them again for two trips next year, but I hope I don't have to claim as it was a pretty annoying experience!
Regarding the iPhone, the hotel was not happy to give me a letter. I told them that in no way was I blaming them, and they didn't have to say it was their fault. They refused to give me the letter twice.
I then emailed directly (from my room LOL). I then got a call and was told that someone was coming up with the letter as requested. I thought an email was a better idea as they then had something in writing that they weren't to blame.
I must say, there was no question from the insurance company about the phone falling in the toilet. I told him he was lucky it happened on holiday, as it wouldn't be covered if he did it at home.
After talking to TID, they had said not to worry too much if I couldn't get a letter. That was another reason I emailed the hotel. Proof that I had tried.

im thinking about going with 1 cover for my holiday to bali in feb
what does everyone think of 1 cover or should i go with southern cross or another one
I WONT BE USING ONE COVER IN THE FUTURE CHEEPER INSURANCE IS ONLY GOOD IF YOU DONT MAKE A CLAIM
I have previously used 1cover however when I unfortunately had to make a claim after being mugged in KL in January they denied my claim. A motor cyclist riding down the street swiped my gold necklace from my neck. We reported it to the police and took photos of the scratches on my chest and forwarded these with my claim. Because I had had the necklace for many years I didn't have a receipt or a bank statement to validate the purchase (they obviously expect you to keep these receipts longer than the tax department) and as our home and contents insurance doesn't require items worth less than $3000 to be specified I couldn't provide them with that either. Maybe some people lodge false claims but I don't and the police statement obviously wasn't worth the paper it was written on to 1cover.
Yes they are cheap and easy to deal with when you purchase the policy, but no point if they deny your claim.

Unfortunately we have had to make several claims, theft of an I phone was dealt with very quickly with police report and receipt and money in the bank account in two weeks. My daughter broke her hand in Bali and required an operation, $7000 later and without having to pay upfront, and great care at BIMC all paid for by 1 cover, all reports e mailed through and then a few calls from the nurses to check all OK. I had to claim for change of flights to stay and care for her and all approved with no problem.
We are currently also processing two other claims, one for a bike accident on a transport bike and one for a fall in a drain will let you know the outcome but my experience to date with 1 cover is very positive.

We use one cover, had claims and friend had a very large claim where her husband had an accident, hospitalized and subsequently passed away as a result. 1 cover were excellent, organized everything and paid up even the 25,000aud life cover. We will continue to use them.

Hi Sandy , I have used 1 cover for my travel insurance several times and I would not use any one else.
Unfortunately last year my husband ended up in hospital in Thailand and the service we received from 1 cover was outstanding . I could not recommend this company enough, they made a very stressful time for me easy. They may not be the cheapest but .........
Its too late now, but don' in the future.
In February2014 I had 2 incidents in Asia, for both I submitted police reports, completed claims form & credit card receipts. Since then, I have sent over 50 emails approx to 6 different people. I have put in writing 4 times (+ police report) and still I have not received 1 cent. I paid approx. $650 insurance, was robbed $1550, deductible of $200 and they want to pay me $190 ?????????????? Stay away from this company, to this date I have sent them more than 30 emails.
I agree, small theft in Feb 2014 and over 50 emails later by me to 6 different people, including police reports and receipts. I paid approx. $650 insurance, was robbed $1550, deductible of $200 and they want to pay me $190 ??????????????

I realise this is an old post, but since it came up when I was looking for help on this, I thought my review might still be relevant...
And an update from our latest claim, $750 refunded for first accident and a further $350 for the other one. About to renew with them again for another multi trip.
Never use 1Cover, their claim process is nothing but delay, delay, delay, then refuse. I have been fighting with them for 5 months and finally went to the Ombudsmen and Fair Trading, they finally paid 30% of what I was robbed. Over 70 emails I sent to 1cover and less than half were replied to. Heres some links to reviews http://insurance-reviews.com.au/travel-insurance/1cover-travel-insurance-reviews/

Please Note - If you are cruising around Australia you need to select Pacific. With Regions, variances can apply for Bali, Indonesia, Japan and Middle East. You are not required to enter stop-over countries if your stop-over is less than 48 hours.
If you don’t know where you’re traveling to within the next 12 months, choose Worldwide to ensure you’re covered no matter where you go. If you’re travelling to multiple countries choose the region that you are visiting that is furthest away (excluding stopovers less than 48 hours). In most cases you will be covered for the closer regions as well. For example, if you choose Europe, you will also be covered in the Middle East, Asia and Pacific.
Worldwide means anywhere in the world
Americas means USA, Canada, South America, Latin America, Hawaii and the Caribbean
Europe means all European countries, including UK
Middle East refers to the area from Syria to Yemen; Egypt to Iran
Asia generally means Asia and the Indian subcontinent. For some insurers this excludes Japan*
Pacific means the South West Pacific, Australia and Indonesia/Bali*. Select Pacific for domestic cruises in New Zealand waters
New Zealand means domestic travel within New Zealand only
*Note: Variances apply for Bali, Indonesia, Japan and Middle East. Check that your destination is covered once directed to your chosen insurer’s site.

I was very disappointed in the service I received from 1 Cover recently. I have been a customer for over 10 years and have never had to make a claim before. On a recent trip we had to return because of a family emergency with my Father in law. I understand that because of his age we were not covered for any return airfares but do believe I should have received a refund or credit for the 50% of he policy I did not use. I replied to 1 Cover after being informed of this and received no other communication. Very poor.

I recently broke my ankle overseas, and 1cover were there to help. From helping me out at the hospital, to advice from nurses and doctor on some of the confusing directions the overseas doctor had given me, to getting me home in the safest and most comfortable way possible. The claim was easy to process, and the reimbursement of personal money spent has been extremely quick in nature. I highly recommend 1cover, and will always choose them for my future (and hopefully injury free) trips. Thank you.

I had a terrible time with Qantas leaving me and my partner stranded overseas after a cancelled flight. We had to make our own way to Europe, from Singapore, last minute. When we came home we submitted an Alternative Transport claim online, and dealt with a wonderful claims consultant Libby who made the whole process simple and easy (even when Qantas was making it hard). We had a single point of contact over the whole process, which made the communications consistently clear. Thanks Libby and 1Cover!

We only go with one cover because it is the least expensive. We have travelled over 30 times and paid for insurance and never made a claim, approx $6000 paid all up. There should be a loyalty discount or no claim bonus. Travel insurance is a necessary evil that I pay for because of paranoia.

I am so so grateful to 1 Cover, I got incredibly unwell in Peru and ended up in hospital by myself. Not only did they cover the hospital expenses and dealt with the hospital directly, they contacted me to reassure me my treatment was correct, to check up on me and to see how I was progressing weeks later. They also covered the cost of the hike I was supposed to go on. I had the most positive experience with this company and I have relayed my feedback to all of my friends and family who are avid travellers. Every team member I dealt with was kind, reassuring and patient. Thank you for making the most stressful and scary time in my life so much easier!
