2024 PGA TOUR full-membership fantasy rankings

Change Text Size

Sometimes, the more things change, the more they, well, change. This year, perhaps more than any other in memory, personifies that twist on the familiar phrase.

This is my annual full-membership fantasy ranking. It’s for the 2024 season. Note the absence of a hyphen. No more wraparounds. So, this is the first time since 2012 that my largest project of the year has dropped in December. That’s but the first of a series of adjustments that soon will become second nature for all of us.

In addition to the ranking across these pages, there is a one-page Cheat Sheet, and it’s printable! It’s perfect for draft leaguers because it’s meant for draft leaguers.

FULL-MEMBERSHIP RANKINGS : Intro | 1-50 | 51-100 | 101-150 | 151-200 | 201-223 | Cheat sheet

This also is a one-time post. It will not be updated. So, if you’re usage extends into the season, merely apply what’s occurred and acknowledge that values will rise in time. In effect, aside from new injuries that can crush opening value, no one plummets in the short range, but golfers most definitely will vault from positions with hot starts. This especially relates to winners of tournaments for which the full allocation of FedExCup points is awarded. They become automatically eligible for all remaining Signature Events . Because this is a predictable result, I’ve added “SE” beside all who have gained entry into the full slate in Qualifiers .

Of the eight Signature Events, only The Genesis Invitational, the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard and the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday will have a 36-hole cut. All of the other five guarantee four rounds per entrant, which means a guaranteed output for investors. So, the golfers already eligible for the Signature Events are obvious targets in your draft.

Golfers who scale into The Next 10 and The Swing 5 will not appear in Qualifiers, and because real-time form determines who fills each subset, neither influences opening fantasy value in this ranking. For comprehensive information on these qualifications, their cadence, the Signature Events as a whole and numerous other details, read this .

All of the golfers ranked include ages, 2022-23 earnings (“salary”) and levels of status on the PGA TOUR. An asterisk beside a salary value indicates that a golfer is a bargain.

If a golfer earned $0 last season, you’ll see “--“ with no asterisk beside him because that’s a given. Salaries for golfers who were non-members in 2022-23 are determined by the combined totals of official money and earnings at the World Golf Championship-Dell Technologies Match Play. To determine salaries for all non-members, refer to the “TOTAL MONEY” column in “Non-Member Off+WGC Earnings” . To view 2022-23 non-members Min Woo Lee, Ryan Fox, Nicolai Højgaard and others who do not appear when you first land on the page, select the Butterfield Bermuda Championship in the Tournament field. However, note that all golfers affected by their initial omission when navigating to the page and who qualify for the ranking based on status are included below with accurate salaries (e.g., Min Woo Lee, 2.812M).

Levels of status via the 2022-23 FedExCup are broken down as follows with corresponding exemptions:

STATUS = BERTHS

• Top 125 = Entry into most opens and THE PLAYERS Championship.

• Top 70 = Qualified for the 2023 FedExCup Playoffs to improve position but didn’t earn exemptions into every Signature Event in 2024.

• Top 50 = Eligible for all Signature Events in 2024.

• Top 30 = Exemptions into every tournament before the Playoffs except the PGA Championship. Their membership exemptions also are extended through the 2025 season if they aren’t already.

Other levels of status are as follows:

• Top 30 (2022) = Only Aaron Wise, who is fully exempt through 2024 for reaching the TOUR Championship in 2022.

• Multi-year = Winners prior to 2022-23 who didn’t finish inside the top 125 of the FedExCup but still have fully exempt status.

• Career earnings exemptions = Zach Johnson and Davis Love III.

• Non-member Top 125 = Min Woo Lee and Nicolai Højgaard. They are fully exempt members in 2024.

• Medical Extensions = Terms to fulfill are noted where possible. Short of a victory that would yield an automatic promotion into the winners category, golfers on Major Medicals would retain status in the same Priority Ranking for the remainder of the season if they fulfill their terms. Golfers with other medicals would be promoted to the Major Medical category for the remainder. Follow all golfers on medicals here .

• DPWT = 2023 DP World Tour Race to Dubai (10 golfers).

• KFT = Korn Ferry Tour graduates (30 golfers).

• Q-School = PGA Tour Qualifying School presented by Korn Ferry graduates (5 golfers).

• PGA TOUR Accelerated = Only Gordon Sargent, who can accept membership after the conclusion of the college season.

• Conditional = Nos. 126-150 in the 2022-23 FedExCup.

There are 28 rookies to open the season. They are noted accordingly. Others are first-time PGA TOUR members (via the DP World Tour and KFT), but each exhausted his rookie eligibility in a prior season. My Rookie Ranking migrated from this website to a season-long thread on X for the entirety of 2022-23. Click here to read it. I will start a new thread for the 2024 rookies.

As the winner of the 2023 PGA Professional Championship, Braden Shattuck is allowed up to six somewhat restricted starts but he is omitted from the ranking. There are no Life Members in 2024.

Not excluded from the sweeping changes in 2024 is how the reshuffles will work. There are now only two categories.

The higher-positioned of the pair replaces what was only Korn Ferry Tour graduates and former graduates on medical extensions. It now consists of Nos. 2-10 among the DP World Tour top 10, Nos. 2-30 among the 30 Korn Ferry Tour grads (and previous grads with medicals) and all five Q-School grads. They will open the season in separate categories and will remain in that order through the Valero Texas Open after which all golfers in these categories will be reordered into a singular category based on FedExCup points. They will reorder only once more at the conclusion of the Wyndham Championship. Golfers via PGA TOUR University and PGA TOUR University Accelerated can be added midseason. I will continue to monitor these golfers here .

The other reshuffle category combines the golfers on conditional status (Nos. 126-150 in the 2022-23 FedExCup) with all members who finished outside the top 150 in the FedExCup. Similarly, they will open the season in separate categories but will reorder earlier and more frequently, at least six times into the FedExCup Fall. Golfers who achieve and accept Special Temporary Membership can be added midseason (more on this below). There is not a dedicated page to monitor this grouping because fantasy value is extremely low in the long term.

Another new wrinkle introduces opportunities for golfers who finished Nos. 126-200 in the 2022-23 FedExCup. They can accept membership on the DP World Tour and play tournaments on that circuit. Details of this conduit are outlined here . Gamers interested in golfers eligible for this secondary initiative are advised to monitor it closely and maintain shorter leashes than usual until we learn how this plays out both individually and in the macro.

For non-members eligible for PGA TOUR competition in 2024, as of Dec. 18, the target to achieve Special Temporary Membership is 262.946 FedExCup points. This was Paul Haley II’s total from his position at 150th in the 2022-23 FedExCup. If you were not aware, I tracked notable non-members throughout last season on X. This is the last entry of the thread that extends from the beginning of the season. I will launch a new thread for this as well in 2024.

With winners of THE PLAYERS Championship and majors earning 750 FedExCup points and winners of Signature Events banking 700, PGA TOUR Fantasy Golf gamers will have even more reason to lean into chalk for the biggies.

Half of the eight Signature Events are in Segment 1, while Segments 2 and 3 each have two majors and two Signature Events. THE PLAYERS opens Segment 2. View the entire schedule here . Motivations always vary in real-time, so be on the lookout for weekly advice in my preview material.

Hit me on X anytime, publicly or privately, and I will communicate with you as soon as time allows. In the meantime and as always, have fun, listen and learn, and remain fluid. In fantasy, in reality.

DP World Tour and PGA Tour announce huge news for players in 2024

PGA Tour FedExCup finishers in positions 126-200 can take up full DP World Tour membership in 2024.

pga tour membership 2024

The DP World Tour has today announced new membership opportunities for PGA Tour members in its 2024 season, a further illustration of the strength of the relationship between the two Tours through the existing Strategic Alliance.   The opportunities fall into two categories: (i) Full membership of the DP World Tour available for players who finish in positions 126 to 200 on the 2022-2023 FedExCup Fall Points List; or (ii) Affiliate Membership of the DP World Tour available to any other PGA Tour Member when participating in any Race to Dubai ranking tournament in the 2024 season.

Affiliate Members and Non-Members will now automatically appear on a new ‘Non-Member Race to Dubai Points List’ following the first tournament where they earn points.

Related: DP World Tour announces radical new schedule for 2024

This list will see players accrue Race to Dubai Points and, based on their points, can see them potentially qualify for (a) the DP World Tour play-offs in 2024 and (b) the season-ending Bonus Pool in 2024 if they have played four or more counting tournaments outside the majors, in line with the current DP World Tour Member regulations.   Should they choose to additionally take up Affiliate Membership, this will give them the potential to earn full ranked membership of the DP World Tour in the following season if their final ranking qualifies them.

PGA Tour Members who take up Full Membership (Option (i) above) will play from a newly created Category 12 in the 2024 DP World Tour Exemption Category list.

Only five players from this category can play in a DP World Tour event in any given week.   To access this category, eligible players must join the DP World Tour as members by Wednesday, December 20, 2023, to compete in tournaments in the 2024 calendar year, but by Wednesday November 22, 2023, if they want to compete in any of the 2024 season tournaments scheduled for November or December 2023.   These initiatives – which were discussed and ratified by the DP World Tour’s Tournament Committee – follow on from the one announced last year that will see the leading ten players on the 2023 Race to Dubai (not otherwise exempt) earn PGA Tour cards for the 2024 season – these cards being ranked after the top 125 finishers on the 2022-2023 FedExCup Fall Points List.   David Howell, chairman of the DP World Tour’s Tournament Committee, said:

Jay Monahan and Keith Pelley

The DP World Tour has revealed details of two new membership opportunities for PGA Tour players to enable them to play more regularly on the European-based circuit from next season.

Players who finish in positions 126-200 on the PGA Tour's FedExCup Fall Points List, which comes to a conclusion at the RSM Classic on November 19, will be offered full membership to the DP World Tour for the 2024 campaign.

The DP World Tour has been labelled as a ‘feeder tour’ in the past, something that has always irked Keith Pelley , Chief Executive of the DP World Tour. However, the latest announcement has already attracted a number of similar comments.

In summary…If not good enough for the PGA Tour, the DP will take you.And if you’re too good for the DP Tour, the PGA will take you.The DP Tour is now officially a feeder tour. October 23, 2023

Affiliate DP World Tour membership will be available to any PGA Tour Member when participating in a Race to Dubai tournament from next season, with Affiliate Members and Non-Members now appearing in a new 'Non-member Race to Dubai Points List' when they compete.

It offers these players a potential route into the DP World Tour play-offs in 2024 and the season-ending bonus pool if they play four or more counting tournaments outside the Major Championships, with Affiliate Members able to earn full ranked membership for the following season with their ranking.

David Howell, Chairman of the DP World Tour’s Tournament Committee, said: “When we announced our Strategic Alliance with the PGA Tour in November 2021, one of the prime objectives was to give as many opportunities as possible to members of both Tours, and this is another perfect example of how this is working.”

PGA Tour Members who take up Full Membership will play from a newly created Category 12 in the 2024 DP World Tour Exemption Category list, with only five golfers per tournament allowed to feature from this category, while players need to become members by December 20, 2023 to compete in the 2024 campaign.

The new agreement follows on from the one announced last year that will see the leading 10 players on the 2023 Race to Dubai (not otherwise exempt) earn PGA Tour cards for the 2024 season, with these cards being ranked after the top 125 finishers on the 2022-2023 FedExCup Fall Points List.

Pelley, said: “Our Ten Cards initiative will give the opportunity for DP World Tour members to excel on the PGA Tour next season and this new membership opportunity announced today will give PGA TOUR members the chance to do exactly the same on our Tour.

“I am excited at the possibilities.”

Memo: pga tour commissioner jay monahan outlines designated-event changes for 2024.

PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan informed the membership Wednesday of sweeping changes to the 2024 schedule.

In the memo obtained by Golf Channel, Monahan detailed how players will qualify for what the Tour is calling the “Designated Event Model” – no-cut events featuring large purses and roughly 70 to 80 players.

News of the changes was first reported Wednesday by Golfweek .

“These smaller, designated event fields will not only deliver substantial, can’t-miss tournaments to our fans at important intervals throughout the season, but they will also enhance the quality of full-field events,” Monahan wrote in the memo. “Together, this approach provides a schedule that is cohesive, compelling, consequential and with clarity for fans, players and sponsors alike.”

Also mentioned in the letter to membership is how players will no longer be required next year to play all but one of the designated events, as they are this season. Plus, the Player Impact Program will undergo further changes, benefiting fewer players (10 instead of 20) and with a small overall prize fund ($50 million, down from $100 million). The other $50 million will be reallocated to the FedExCup bonus structure and Comcast top 10 at the end of the regular season.

Full memo from Monahan

Dear PGA TOUR Member:

I wanted to provide an update coming out of last night’s PGA TOUR Policy Board Meeting. It goes without saying that every Board Meeting is important and consequential, but with this agenda in particular...there is no doubt in my mind that we made decisions that will transform and set the future direction for your PGA TOUR.

Over the last year, we have spent a massive amount of time exploring how to better position the PGA TOUR for continued growth. How to innovate and deliver a better product. How to further showcase our top performers, while staying true to the meritocracy and legacy that define the TOUR. How to create a season of consequence that deepens and expands fan interest. How to make every tournament better and deliver more value to sponsors, media partners and host organizations – to the benefit of the entire membership. How to create a season of consequence that deepens and expands fan interest. How to make every tournament better and deliver more value to sponsors, media partners and host organizations – to the benefit of the entire membership.

After careful consideration of several options, I’m excited to announce that we are moving forward with what we are calling the Designated Event Model. A general framework is explained below, but one item I wanted to call out is field size for the Designated events, a hot topic throughout this process, and understandably so. In 2024, select Designated events will be between 70 to 80 players, with no cut – and with opportunities for players from Full-Field events to qualify and compete. These smaller, Designated event fields will not only deliver substantial, can’t-miss tournaments to our fans at important intervals throughout the season, but they will also enhance the quality of Full-Field events. Together, this approach provides a schedule that is cohesive, compelling, consequential and with clarity for fans, players and sponsors alike.

Changes of this magnitude certainly require additional conversation and context. To that end, I will convene a player meeting next week at THE PLAYERS Championship on Tuesday at 7:30 a.m., and we are committed to hosting additional, informal discussions on this topic every week at PGA TOUR events for the foreseeable future.

The future is bright, and with these changes, we are positioned for incredible growth. Sincerely,

- Jay Monahan

Changes approved for 2024 PGA Tour season

  • This will include a total of 16 events: THE PLAYERS and Majors(5),FedExCupPlayoffs(3) and an additional 8 Designated events.
  • The schedule will distribute Designated events and Full-Field events to ensure there are no isolated weeks, creating a strong cadence for players and fans alike. This schedule is designed to allow top performers the flexibility to participate in both Designated and Full-Field events. Full-Field events will become more consequential as they allow new and upcoming stars to rise to the top and give the membership an ability to play their way into the Designated events.
  • Eligibility for the Sentry Tournament of Champions will include the Top 50 players from the Prior Year FedExCup Points List through the FedExCup Playoffs and Tournament Winners from the prior year, including the PGA TOUR Fall.
  • Eligibility for the remaining Designated events (exclusive of THE PLAYERS and FedExCup Playoffs, where field size and eligibility remain unchanged) will reward top performers, provide ample opportunity for play-in from season long performance and different intervals throughout the season, retain an emphasis on winning and be simple for the fan to understand.
  • The Top 50 players from the Prior Year FedExCup Points List through the FedExCupPlayoffs;
  • The Top 10 players, not otherwise eligible, from the Current Year FedExCup Points List(using the previous year’s FedExCup points list through the conclusion of the fall events for any early-season events);
  • Top 5 players, not otherwise eligible, earning the most FedExCup Points through each “collection” of standard events (i.e. events between each Designated event);
  • Current-year tournament winners, not otherwise eligible, of full FedExCup Point events prior to the Designated event;
  • PGA TOUR Members among the top 30 in the Official World Golf Ranking;
  • Four sponsor exemptions restricted to PGA TOUR members.
  • Field sizes for the Designated events will range from 70-80 players, with no cut.
  • The FedExCup Points model will be adjusted, with allocation of additional points to THE PLAYERS, Majors and Designated events. Details will be shared with the membership in the coming weeks.
  • The Resource Allocation Plan for 2024 has also been adjusted. The Player Impact Program will be reduced to $50 million, paid to the top 10 players (from $100 million to the top 20). The remaining funds will be reallocated to the FedExCup Bonus Program and Comcast Business TOUR Top 10.

PGA Tour Members Who Lose Status Will Have New Playing Opportunity on DP World Tour

  • Author: Gabrielle Herzig

Starting in 2024, players who lose their PGA Tour cards will have the opportunity to become DP World Tour members and compete in Europe.

The DP World Tour announced Monday that players who finish from No. 126 to 200 on the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Fall points list will have the opportunity to accept DP World Tour membership in 2024. Players in the top 125 retain their PGA Tour cards. Cameron Champ, Jimmy Walker, Aaron Wise and Harry Higgs are just a few names currently outside that mark.

If players choose to accept the opportunity for DP World Tour membership, they will be part of a new category in the tour’s exemption list, “Category 12.” On any given week on the DP World Tour, only five PGA Tour players in the category will be able to compete, in order to preserve available spots for existing DP World Tour members.

Some familiar names from the PGA Tour could be seen in DP World Tour fields next year.

Last year, the PGA Tour and DP World Tour extended their partnership and announced that the top 10 DP World Tour players at the end of each season will earn PGA Tour cards.

“Our Ten Cards initiative will give the opportunity for DP World Tour members to excel on the PGA Tour next season and this new membership opportunity announced today will give PGA Tour members the chance to do exactly the same on our Tour,” said Keith Pelley, chief executive of the DP World Tour.

In addition to giving PGA Tour players access to DP World Tour membership if they lose their cards, all other PGA Tour members will be able to earn Race to Dubai points on a new "non-member" points list. If a player competes in four or more tournaments, they could qualify for the 2024 DP World Tour playoffs its bonus pool at the end of the season. Generally, the new pathways allow for increased mobility between tours.

“When we announced our Strategic Alliance with the PGA Tour in November 2021, one of the prime objective was to give as many opportunities as possible to members of both Tours, and this is another perfect example of how this is working,” said David Howell, DP World Tour tournament committee chairman.

The PGA Tour schedule will feature eight “signature events” with fields of 80 players in 2024, with 36 total regular-season tournaments. The top 50 players from the 2022-2023 FedEx Cup are automatically qualified for the signature events.

PGA Tour, DP World Tour announce stunning new exemption guidelines

The DP World Tour, now more than ever before, appears to be acting as a feeder tour for the PGA Tour across the pond.

DP World Tour, PGA Tour, Jay Monahan

Before Tiger Woods burst onto the scene in the late 1990s, the European Tour—now the DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons—competed head-to-head against the PGA Tour.

Both circuits had amazing talent, with the likes of Seve Ballesteros, Sam Torrance, Ian Woosnam, Sir Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer, and Colin Montgomerie leading the European charge.

But times have changed.

The DP World Tour is now a feeder tour to the PGA Tour, and Monday’s announcement boldens that claim.

Beginning with the 2024 season, full membership on the DP World Tour is available to players who finish in positions 126th to 200th in the 2023 FedEx Cup Fall points list.

Furthermore, affiliate membership of the DP World Tour is available to any other PGA Tour player who participates in any Race to Dubai tournament during the 2024 season.

Jon Rahm, DP World Tour

The Race to Dubai is the DP World Tour’s equivalent of the FedEx Cup.

Affiliate members and non-members will now appear on a new ‘Non-Member Race to Dubai Points List’ following the first tournament where they earn points.

Should affiliate members play more than four qualifying events on the DP World Tour, they will earn a spot in the DP World Tour playoffs.

Meanwhile, those who finish the FedEx Cup fall ranked 125th and above will obtain PGA Tour cards for the 2024 season.

“When we announced our Strategic Alliance with the PGA Tour in November 2021, one of the prime objectives was to give as many opportunities as possible to members of both Tours, and this is another perfect example of how this is working,” said David Howell, the Chairman of the DP World Tour’s Tournament Committee.

Sure, more opportunities will exist for more players, but the DP World Tour will house those who could not qualify for the PGA Tour.

Those PGA Tour players ranked between 126th and 200th in the FedEx Cup fall standings who take up full membership will play from a newly created category within the 2024 DP World Tour exemption category list.

Only five players from this category can play in a DP World Tour event in any given week—meaning only five PGA Tour players can enter a DP World Tour field.

That will help protect current players on the DP World Tour, but it does not protect the European circuit’s top talent.

The top 10 players on the DP World Tour’s 2023 Race to Dubai rankings—not otherwise exempt—will earn PGA Tour cards for the 2024 season.

So, the best of the DP World Tour will head to the PGA Tour, meaning it will be deprived of its top talent.

Adrian Meronk, DP World Tour, Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters

Here are the top 10 players in the rankings—not otherwise exempt—following Adrian Meronk’s win at the Andalucia Masters :

  • Adrian Meronk (Poland)
  • Ryan Fox (New Zealand)
  • Victor Perez (France)
  • Min Woo Lee (Australia)
  • Alexander Björk (Sweden)
  • Robert MacIntyre (Scotland)
  • Ryo Hisatsune (Japan)
  • Thorbjørn Olesen (Denmark)
  • Joost Luiten (Netherlands)
  • Marcel Siem (Germany)

What is great about this list is that 10 different countries are represented. Yet, these players will be plucked from the DP World Tour.

Ballesteros is likely rolling over in his grave, but the DP World Tour faced no other options. They have been strapped for cash—only turning a profit on years in which Europe hosts the Ryder Cup . Hence, the strategic alliance that was announced a couple of years ago.

Of course, there are ongoing negotiations between the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund on the future of professional golf.

Nobody knows what the sport will look like in 2025, but in 2024, the writing on the wall is clear that the DP World Tour is the minor league affiliate of the PGA Tour.

Finishers 1-9 of each site will be exempt for the entire 2024 North American swing of the PGA TOUR Americas season and not subject to any reshuffle(s).

Field Size & Site Assignment

Maximum of 132 players per site. All 2024 members of PGA TOUR Americas, as well as all 2024 Korn Ferry Tour members and the top 150 players ( in the event that a site is full of members, players will be prioritized in order of their PGA TOUR U rankings) on the PGA TOUR University rankings (as of March 26 th , 2024) will receive priority in site assignment but will be drawn on a random basis from within the same pool of member applicants. Member and non-member entries will not be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis and both are subject to the same entry period. The PGA TOUR Americas reserves the right to balance the field size at qualifying sites by assigning any applicant, including members of the aforementioned tours whose applications are received prior to the entry deadline, to other sites as deemed necessary.

Should each of the sites/fields reach the maximum number of players, additional applicants will be assigned as an alternate to their highest-ranked (i.e., first) site preference. Similar to site assignments, alternates will be assigned on a random basis and PGA TOUR Americas reserves the right to balance the field size at qualifying sites by assigning any alternate to another site as deemed necessary, regardless of preference.

An alternate list will only be applicable if all sites reach maximum field sizes.

Each site may, depending on the number of entries received, have its own alternate list. Once a site has exhausted its alternate list, the next highest-assigned alternate at the next qualifying site will be eligible for any available playing opportunity. The ‘next qualifying site’ is deemed to be either the next qualifying site to be played after the one in question, or the first qualifying site in the schedule if no qualifying tournaments have been contested at that time.

If and when a spot becomes available at any of the sites, it will be offered to the next alternate, either from that site or the next highest-assigned alternate at the next qualifying site. If an alternate chooses not to accept a spot, he will retain his spot on the alternates list and the next- available alternate will be contacted and so on, until the spot is filled. Any alternate withdrawing from a qualifying competition site alternate list will receive a full refund at the time of their withdrawal or once that qualifying site has been contested. If an alternate is not offered a spot (i.e., due to an insufficient number of withdrawals) they would also receive a full refund. Note: Alternates wishing to wait on-site at qualifying competition location may do so at their discretion. If, beginning during the official practice round/registration date (i.e., the date preceding the first round of official competition) through the last starting time of the first round of the competition, a player withdraws or does not show for his starting time, an on-site alternate will be eligible to compete. The procedure for using alternates in this manner will use the ranking for alternates as outlined below, but only apply to those on-site.

Site assignments, once distributed, are considered final.

Starting Times

Starting times will be available two days preceding the Qualifying competition at the qualifying site or online at www.pgatour.com/americas

pga tour membership 2024

The 2022-2023 PGA Tour season concluded with the end of The RSM Classic, with 125 players both earning their PGA Tour cards and status for the 2024 season.

Only players finishing in the top 125 in FedEx Cup Fall points retain their cards. Ranking on the money list doesn't matter.

The players who finish 126th through 150th in the standings earn conditional PGA Tour status for next season. Of course, players who have better status through wins in PGA Tour-sanctioned events retain that status.

The players who finished 51st through 60th in the final ranking -- the top 10 players who didn't qualify for the BMW Championship -- earn spots into the first two Signature events of 2024 played in the mainland United States: the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and The Genesis Invitational. Those players are: Mackenzie Hughes, Beau Hossler, Ludvig Åberg, Ben Griffin, Taylor Montgomery, Matt Kuchar, Nick Hardy, J.J. Spaun, Sam Ryder and Luke List.

Non-members who would have earned enough FedEx Cup points to qualify for the playoffs also earn membership for next season.

The five new members of the PGA Tour 2024

T he American circuit distributed this Monday, December 18, five cards for the 2024 season. Four of the five lucky ones will discover the PGA Tour in 2024.

Pga Tour, news

Harrison Endycott

27 years old, 33 tournaments on the PGA Tour, 367th in the world A rookie last year, the Australian failed to retain his playing rights by finishing 129th in the FedEx Cup.

If he already had conditional status for 2024, the one who went through the Korn Ferry Tour in 2022 regained full status thanks to his overwhelming victory at the cards. But he will have to do better than in 2023 where he only signed one top 10.

The 27-year-old will be able to draw on his little experience among the elite: 33 tournaments played (20 missed cuts). Harrison Endycott admitted during the season that he was “tired of feeling bad all the time” because of alcohol.

He had in fact explained that he had tried to compensate for the stress of a first season with alcoholic drinks, before weaning himself off during the year. Trace Crowe

27 years old, 3 tournaments on the PGA Tour, 234th in the world The American was in a very good position after two laps during the Korn Ferry Tour (KFT) final.

33rd in the order of merit before the event and projected in the top 30 halfway through, he collapsed during the weekend, losing his chance to climb on the PGA Tour, unlike Paul Barjon. It is now just a bad memory for Trace Crowe, once a winner on the KFT in 2023, thanks to his second place on the cards.

For the first time in his career, he will be a member of the PGA Tour. Blaine Hale

26 years old, no tournament on the PGA Tour, 4 120th in the world From the anonymity of an American mini-tour to the best circuit in the world, this is the big gap that Blaine Hale will experience.

The American had started playing cards without the slightest status. He will play on the PGA Tour in 2024! University champion in 2017 with Oklahoma State, he turned pro at the end of 2019, just before the COVID crisis. The 26-year-old has almost no experience at the highest level.

He has only played one tournament on the Korn Ferry Tour in… 2022. Hayden Springer

26 years old, 4 tournaments on the PGA, 486th in the world Hayden Springer earned a full category on the Korn Ferry Tour after winning the PGA Tour Canada Order of Merit.

He ultimately won't need it since he will make the leap directly to the PGA Tour. The Nashville native won two of the seven tournaments played on the Canadian satellite circuit in 2023. Winning this card also allowed him to smile again.

The American in fact lost his 3-year-old daughter last month, suffering from Down syndrome. “It was inevitable, but she was strong, she was a fighter. We always said she had the strength of heart, and that will always be engraved in our memories.

» Raul Pereda

27 years old, 1 tournament on the PGA, 891st in the world There will be a Mexican on the PGA Tour in 2024. It will be Raul Pereda. Until now a member of the PGA Tour Latinoamérica, the former student at the University of Jacksonville will also play his very first season on the American circuit.

He was able to take part in an event in his young career among the world elite, the Mexico Open 2023. The native of Cordoba finished 60th after an excellent 65 (-6) at the opening of the tournament.

How does someone get into The Players Championship? There are 19 ways and none of them are easy

pga tour membership 2024

Want to tee it up in The Players Championship?

Knock yourself out. Like any PGA Tour event, it’s open to anyone who shoots the low numbers.

All one needs to do is turn professional and qualify for the Tour ... or play on other tours (PGA Tour Champions, Korn Ferry, DP World Tour) and use various avenues they have to punch a ticket to Ponte Vedra Beach.

But actually doing it? Well, that takes tons of game and a little bit of luck.

There are 19 avenues to The Players Championship and all of them require being a world-class player. There is no capturing lightning in a bottle in a 36-hole qualifier (such as the U.S. or British Open) or winning various amateur tournaments (U.S. and British Opens, and the Masters) or becoming a club pro and using those avenues to reach the PGA Championship.

It also isn’t a lifetime achievement award. Winning the Masters means you’re there for most of the rest of your life. Winning a British Open or PGA is a golden ticket until you’re 65 years old.

Winning a Players buys only five more years.

Nick Dunlap will travel the shortest possible path to a Players Championship. He received a sponsor invitation for The American Express, then won the 72-hole tournament to earn PGA Tour membership, once he turned pro and left Alabama.

Some players require years to earn their spot at the Stadium Course.

Here are the requirements to enter The Players Championship. And there are no short-cuts:

  • Winners of PGA TOUR cosponsored or approved tournaments, whose victories are considered official, since the last Players Championship.
  • The top 125 players from the prior season’s FedEx Cup Fall and points list.
  • Winners of Masters Tournament from the years 2019-2023.
  • Winners of The Players Championship and The Open Championship from the years 2018-2023.
  • Winners of the U.S. Open and PGA Championship from the years 2018-2023.
  • Winner of the FedEx Cup from the 2018/19–2022/23 seasons. (This became a five-year exemption starting with the 2018/19 season.).
  • Winners of WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play in the last three years (2021-2023).
  • Winner of the 2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.
  • Winners of the Genesis Invitational in the last three years (2022-2024).
  • Winners of the Arnold Palmer Invitational in the last three years (2022-2024).
  • Winners of the Memorial Tournament in the last three years (2021–2023).
  • Current Men’s Golf Olympic Gold Medalist.
  • The top 50 players from the Official World Golf Ranking through the Cognizant Classic (March 4).
  • The top 10 players from the 2024 FedEx Cup points list through the Cognizant Classic.
  • The winner of the previous year’s PGA Tour Champions Kaulig Companies Championship.
  • The leading player to earn a PGA Tour card from the prior season’s Race to Dubai Ranking.
  • The leading player from the prior season’s Official Korn Ferry Tour points list.
  • If necessary to complete a field of 144 players, PGA Tour members from the 2024 FedEx Cup points list below 10th position through the Cognizant Classic, in order of their position.
